The Solution Database is a repository of information which is stored as problems and solutions, and is indexed for immediate retrieval. For the applications that use the Solution Database as a knowledge base, see Integration below.
Knowledge administrators use the Solution Database to define problems and solutions using, for example, free-text descriptions in several languages and customized attributes. They can structure multiple relationships between problems and solutions, and navigate easily between them.
The Solution Database offers a basic interface for knowledge administrators (but also agents, field engineers, and other users) to search for problems and solutions.

Hi Every body ,
I am new to solution manager . I crated a new ticket type from standard SLFN . That is working fine .
Now i need to configure solution data base . I assigned the 'SDB create' action in action profiles also .
I could not see the solution database tab in transaction details of ticket . And even if i use action " create solution in solution data base ' from actions that is not working .
1 . Please provide good documents for SDB
2 . How do i get tab solution database in transaction details of ticket
3 . How can i configure the action ' Create solution in solution data base ' Action .
4 . Is solution data base is ticket type specific ? . IF yes how can i configure that for one ticket type .

my requirement is to make a Z REPORT whose input is the equippment and out put should give all symptoms , solutions etc.. what ever i have maintained through IS01 / IS02 .
I am getting different things in different tables i am not able to link them to get all desired data in single output screen

Bussines object reference into Solution into Solution Data Base

Hi Experts
I´m creating Solution Data Base based on the following landscapes: R3 retail, BW and CRM. Under IMG I found that is possible to Define Business Object types for Simptom and Solution. My doubt is focus on learning how to use Business Object Repository that exist on satelites sytems (BW, CRM, R3) for link them to the solution.
I mean, when you create a new solution into SDB is possible to link or reference the Business Object which you opened a support message, i.e: when is not possible to release a Purchase Order (R3 system), then I´d like to "attach" or link the Purchase Order reference by number to the Solution.
Could you please give hand or explain me how it works?

Solution data base -reg

hi ,
in the solution data base usage
a symptom is created for which solution is created and object is assigned
now which table and fields are to be used to know for a given equippment which is the symptom assigned and solution attached for it
i have tried with
ISMOB -
ISMP ISOL
object & Symptom number not able to link symptom number and solution link ?
if i give object i am getting symptom number created , then i am not able to input this symptom number to get the solution attached
please help

Entourage error message 4362 - damaged data base - cannot back up , compact

I've been using 10.5.8 on my G5 for 2 yrs NO problems - THEN - error message 4362 starts to appear as Entourage (2004 Office) gets close to 1.5G bytes. Disk utility can run and verify YES there is a damage in data base.
BUT the rebuild option will NOT last more than 30secs before I/O error.
I have tried to open Entourage with option key down and I have thrown out any email older than 1yr.
Next move is to re-install Entourage - and import folders - unless some one has a better idea/solution. Please -- Ray

I have installed Oracle 10g server in windows server 2008 and the domain & active directory r created now i am trying to create the databse i am getting usual error (tns protocol adapter error ) in the 2% i have removed the domain and the active directory from windows then i created but this is not a solutions i need to create the data base in the domain server...

One application module with 3 differente data base connections

I have 3 different servers for data base connections. The main is "sys", the second "stanby" and the third: "bdbatch". In the old application,that i m re programating, uses a properties to read the connection. If the main is not available then goes to the stanby an then to the third. With this new application with adf i have to do the same. So how can i configure the application module to do this? do i have to make extra code? or just configure an xml file??

i faced this problem before in Dynamic JDBC Credentials topic solution provided by Steve Muench (to make your AM Databse Connection to be dynamic as you need).

Hiding dynamic selections which is default if Logical Data Bases is used

Am making use of PNP logical data base in my report .On the selection screen there is a default icon with text dynamic selections is visible besides the execute icon.Can please anyone tell me how to hide this,i have gone through the DBPNPSEL include but was not able to find the solution for the same.

Create your own report catogory
Goto --> Attributes --> Report Catogory
with all the fields that you require
That will solve your problem

Flash Builder Premium (update data base method error)

Hello everyone -
Since I last posted an interesting update happened. I tested my Flex application again, it is calling a Jetty Server that returns a JSON object, in different BROWSERS. I disabled HTTPS for now, and the crossdomain.xml policy file is wide open for testing (ie. allowing every request to return data). So the app accessing the data using HTTP only. Browsers - IE, Opera, Firefox and Chrome. Each browser contained the SAME application, revision of the Flash Player (10.3.183.10 debugger for firefox, chrome, opera, safari PC; 11.0.1.129 consumer version in IE9,) take a look at the screen shot (safari not shown although the result was the same as IE and chrome)
Note that Opera and Firefox returned successful values (i.e. successful JSON objects) using the same code generated from the Data Services Wizard. Chrome, IE and, Safari failed with an Internal error. So I am left wondering - WHY? Is it something with the Flash Player? the Browsers? the Flex SDK? Any thoughts are appreciated. Again, the code is found in the original thread above.

BPEL with TWO data base polling adapters????

Can some one tell, Is it possible to have two data base polling adapters in one BPEl process??
What I am trying to do is , simultaneoulsy polling two independent data base tables in one bpel with two receive activities, but it did not work as BPEl should have only one start activity.
Please post your ideas , if we can achive this.

So, are you trying to detect the fact that two different rows in two different tables were both inserted? If so are they related some how? Are they parent child? Is one guaranteed to appear before the other?
I'm thinking two processes with database adapters that in turn call a third process which has two receives which are connected via a correlation set.
Another solution would be database triggers that look for the existence of both rows before inserting into a third table -- this third table would drive the database adapter.

Data base idle

i am sending the structre of two tables in my data base.

Code_No varchar2(5)
Cash_Adj Char(1)
Particulars varchar2(100)
Credit_sum number
Debit_sum number
Scroll_No number

log_status char(1)
mach_no varchar2(10)
i am using this table for obtaing a report.
The problem is if more than one user is trying to access the
above table
sytem is locked. ( Because i am using the above table as a
temporary one
i had included a code for deleting data from the table)
when the second user taking the same report all data on the
table will be deleted. and all the systems going idle. Inorder
to avoid this i iad added a new field user_id to the first
mentioned table.
In the first login form i am updating the username and user_id
and log status
to the users table.
now i want to delete from the first table based on the user_id.
how can i achieve this.
if there is any other solution to avoid idle state please tell
me.

use temporary tables. temporary tables can be session specific
or transaction specific. oracle creates separate temporary
tables for each session and deletes data from table when session
is disconnected.

Report generation from BI with HUGE data base.

Dear All
Can anyone gimme solution for problem given below ?
I am trying to generate Customer / Vendor related report from BI. Data base is too too big. Whenever i try to generate report, system gets hanged and report does not get generated.
Need help in this.

Not enough info...
What verison of Crystal Reports are you using?
Are you sure it's hanging and you simply have to wait for the report to generate? If there are millions of records being returned and client side or second pass filtering/formatting it can take time to render that report.
Are there any errors being reported? CR will apeear to be hung, it's simply waiting for the database to start streaming the data back and appears to be not responding.
If you add record selection filtering does that retunr data?
WHY are you returning that much data? It can't possibly be of any use to anyone. Do not use CR as a database archiving tool.

Active Data Guard-How to configure Auxiliary Data Base's Listener.

I am stuck in creating listener/tnsnames for auxiliary database as the problem happens because of the auxiliary instance has just started. It is now in NOMOUNT stage. The instance registration with the listener is performed by PMON process and to start the PMON process database need to be in mount stage. So, before the instance registration by PMON with the listener there is actually noting to register and hence the instance is BLOCKED.

The "auxiliary" is, I presume, actually a physical standby.
If so why is it in NOMOUNT? Why don't you start it?
alter database recover managed standby database cancel;
alter database open read only;
