Solution for connecting a handheld code scanner to SAP

hello experts,
my question is on what technology one can use to connect an existing handheld device to SAP which is used a scanner to scan bar codes on boxes and transport the file from the wireless device of the scanned objects into the SAP.
What solution and technology one need sto use to set this up.

There are three ways in which your requirement can be fulfilled:
1) SAPConsole: Basic idea is to convert the SAP GUI screens into text screens which are then accessed by mobile devices through telnet server
2) ITSMobile: ITSMobile is a new application introduced by SAP in 2007.
3) Mobile Webdynpro: Webdynpro Java (SAP Netweaver) can offer the capability to fulfill your requirement.

Hi,
There are no BAPIs/RFCs to create Infotypes directly. You have to create a custom wrapper RFC around the std function module HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION to meet your requirements. This function module enables you to maintain master data for employees and applicants. You can transfer one data record ie one infotype record per employee at a time. In your case it would be 3 function calls per each employee. All validation checks take place that would take place in the individual maintenance screens in the dialog. If necessary, the module returns an error message. The error messages are the same as the error messages in the dialog, that is, the individual maintenance screen error messages are transferred rather than interpreted by this module.

Found solution for connection problems iPod Nano 3rd gen to Windows Vista!!

Hello people!
I just found a solution to connection problems with iPod Nano 3rd generation when connecting it to a Windows Vista machine.
Because of 'security reasons', Vista asks you to check the drive for errors when connecting the iPod.
The thing to do here:
Click the cross to exit the windows; DON'T CLICK 'do not check drive'!!!!
So just click the red cross to close the window and the iPod should be recognized by iTunes.
Symptoms:
- iPod cannot be recognized by iTunes when you connect it.
- iPod doesn't show up as a drive in Windows Explorer.

Have not been able to connect to iTunes for months, right about the time Microsoft put out the Zune! Would love to hear from a lawyer about a class action lawsuit againat Apple since this issue has not been resolved and we are required to use iTunes. Easy solution for connecting Zen Touch to P

Hi,
I'm a Mac user, when I want to connect my Zen Touch to any Mac I used "xnjb" a small freeware (.7Mb) that I could run directly from my USB key; It work great, install nothing on the computer and could upload or download any kind of files between the zen and the computer.
I try to find a similar solution for PC without success, I even try to install "JB3MV2_PCWDRV_US__30_03.EXE" on a computer friend; this not the ideal solution because it install something on his computer and even with that installation the window explorer see a USB device but can't read it.
Is some one have a solution similar to what I used on Mac?

I don't want the new firmware because my Zen touch work good with the old one and the Mac software for the Zen are not supporting the new firmware yet,
Do you have a solution working with the old firmware, even if it's a third party one.

Solution for connection between BODS and WCF web service ?

Hi,
we have a unique requirement of connecting BODS to WCF webservice. This web service acts as a layer for connection between proprietary databases (secured) and other external systems. Queries are to be sent to this web service in order to fetch data from proprietary databases.
In order to connect to these web services, we should also provide Address, Binding and contract whose details are already present with us.
Example of web service address: net.tcp://op12345:10101/sd
I heard Adapters are the best way of connecting to the above web service, could you please provide some guidance on connecting through adapters if it is the best solution.
Could someone suggest the best possible approach(ASAP) to bring connection between BODS and web services and to execute the above requirement.
Please let me know in case of any more information.

Solution for Connecting iMac to Uverse Wireless Network?

Hi. I would like to upgrade my 2003-vintage iMac flatscreen (that is now my secondary computer) so that I can connect to my Uverse network at home. I am considering using a USB adapter such as the one in this link:

Does anyone have any experience with this sort of solution? I would prefer to do this instead of installing an AirPort card. Any thoughts would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

As a group, the USB wireless adaptors have received mixed reviews, but largely because someone buys one that lacks Mac driver support. That seems to be covered in the model you've linked.
That leaves my only concern the statement:

The bit about "two cables" makes me nervous. It's not clear if the adaptor takes up TWO of your USB ports. If you lost ports, that could be a problem. Also, bus-powered devices may not work from your keyboard ports. You may need to clarify what ports are recommended and whether the device has (or needs) a separate power supply.
I suspect a call to the vendor would sort this out.

OfficeJet G85xi: best solution for connecting to network w/o going through a computer.

I want to get rid of my office computer, which serves as the print server for our OfficeJet G85xi. The all-in-one is fine, really would prefer to not buy another printer, but in looking at print servers, it's very confusing as to which one will work with my printer, and do what I want. They also seem to cost almost as much as what I could get a new printer for. But I have bought one of the newer all-in-ones for an office elsewhere, and the newer ones seem to be made much cheaper, seem flimsy and 'plastic-y'.
Any advice as to what solution seems best? We mostly use our printer for regular printing, mostly black, but some color. We scan/copy some, and also fax some. I really like the versatility of the printer I have now, being able to use different types/sizes of paper easily, load paper easily, etc..., and as I said, would prefer to not replace it. What I would really like is something that attaches to the printer, where I can attach a network cable, and has some way of working with it if the printer seems to have a problem communicating with the network.

You might find the following a little helpful. The G85 had a sister product called the G95 that came with networking, but really the only difference is that the G95 came with a Jetdirect 170X. So if you got a Jetdirect 170X, you'd have the print server that the G85 was designed to work with. I don't know what operating system you are using so you might run into problems finding software that supports all the features over a network, but I'd think you ought to be able to get printing to work well enough.

I am trying to determine what SAPs philosophy is around the state of Wyoming changing their worker compensation code to 6 digits. The standard workman compensation code on the positions and jobs is only 4 in length. I am unable to find any OSS comments around this issue.

What is my best solution for connecting my Roland TD-20 Drumkit to garageband?

I am loking for the most cost effective interface for my Roland kit. My delima is that I have garageband on my iphone (which I use to play tracks from my friends) that I hook up to my Rolands input to rehearse the tracks, and i have a PC which I would like to use to record my tracks with theirs. Yah, I know, I need a Mac, can't aford one now, any suggestions?

Replace your hard drive with one that has a larger capacity.
Freeing Up Space on The Hard Drive
1. See Lion/Mountain Lion's Storage Display.
2. You can remove data from your Home folder except for the /Home/Library/ folder.
3. Visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQ on freeing up space on your hard drive.
4. Also see Freeing space on your Mac OS X startup disk.
5. See Where did my Disk Space go?.
6. See The Storage Display.
You must Empty the Trash in order to recover the space they occupied on the hard drive.
You should consider replacing the drive with a larger one. Check out OWC for drives, tutorials, and toolkits.
Try using OmniDiskSweeper 1.8 or GrandPerspective to search your drive for large files and where they are located.

Hi,
Ok, but the file exits and it is in the correct place. Because it appears on the front pnel, I mean the same name that the file that vision builder has done in the migration.
My aplication is migrated from vision builder to labview. It doen´t run poperly when I build an aplication. But it does when I run my main.vi. It only does not work when I use it like an aplication.
I have done everything that I was supposed to do to build it, but the OCR does not find a file and does not open the session.
I post some pictures that explain the error, I´m sorry because it is in spanish, but you can see where the problem is.

We have 30 company codes in our FI production system. So to plan another new company code to be deployed into the system, we need to know exact data capacity (database) of the previous company code that we already deployed. Kindly let me know whether it possible to calculate the database size occupied for a particular company code in a SAP system.

Its not possible to calculate data size based on company code.
By creating company code It will not occupy much space. Depends on your posting documents for particular company codes.

Industry Solution for High Tech Manufacturing - how to activate?

Hello,
I'm Basis consultant installing ECC 6.0 at a client site. The client company has purchased a package from SAP that includes the " SAP Industry Solution for High Tech Manufacturing ."
My question is: how is this installed? Is this part of ECC-DIMP, and thus can be activated after installation of ECC. If so, can this be activated and tested in a newly created client copy, or does the activation need to take place prior to a client copy?
If not part of ECC-DIMP, does this purchase refer to Best Practices for High Tech, which does require additional software. In this case I believe I will need to install the Baseline package for BP, then the specific BP for High Tech.
Follow-up question:
1. Could either of these be installed later, or would that break existing new configuration?
