Solution for flash player crashing problem
This fix works pretty well, as all the latest versions of flash crash continuously, on almost every video.
First, download these two items:
Flash player Uninstaller
1. Flash player Uninstaller - http://download.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/support/uninstall_flash_player.exe
Flash 10.3.183.25
1. http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html
[Editors Note: I updated the link to point to the Flash Player archives page, instead of the non-Adobe site. Please, ALWAYS download Flash Player directly from Adobe to ensure you have a valid, authentic copy. Malware distributors often attempt to trick users into installing malicious files by naming them as legitimate software programs. Wherever possible, always download software from the author's site.]
Run the Uninstaller (with browsers closed).
Then run the new Installer. You should not have problems anymore.
This version also switches from full screen and back, smoothly (without freakin crashing).
So far, it is running smooth as a lamb. I have no idea what is wrong with the other versions of flash player, but it is annoying. Even the very latest version crashes.
I am back to enjoying videos again, hope you will be too. :-)
Here are 4 links. I hope these are right, never looked at this data before.

The freezes, crashes, green screen, etc occor basically on any video. for ex https://vimeo.com/50512991 , http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YfulqRdDbsg
Basically if i am doing nothing and just let it play a freeze, crash, green screen, etc will occur sooner or later. But skipping through the video will also result in such behavior.
I have these GT220 drivers (306.23) installed already.
hardware acceleration is permanently off indeed.
Here's a list. But you know, i think i have ruled out the plugins and addons already because i also used flash on a fresh Firefox install and on a complete new profile without any plugins and addons installed.

Hello, I don't know whether this is right place to post this question here or not?
But I have got stuck with one weird problem related to Flash Player. My problem is whenever I try to open any flash file in my browser, or when I try to watch any Youtube video, or watch any idiom video, then it says flash player plugin crashed. Initially I thought it just a problem with Mozilla, but I wonder to see, that there is nothing to display in Chrome or other browsers.
How to solve this over and over crashing problem please help?

Apple's "Solution" for Blue-Screen Crashing Problem
Good Morning,
For those of you thinking of calling Apple's Technical Support for help about the Blue-Screen crashing issue, don't bother.
I just got off the phone with Tech Support about the blue-screen crashing issue. After waiting 15 minutes for help, the first thing they did was act as if I were the first person to report this problem. The tech support guy finally admitted that Apple has received thousands of calls on this matter in the past couple of days.
When I asked for a solution, the only thing the tech support guy offered was to have me disconnect all my external devices, then restart Windows and disable various services, the restart my computer, then reconnect my external devices, then reconnect the iPod, then restart the computer again...Absolutely ridiculous.
I did all these steps, and I got the iPod to work once. But when I restarted my computer again, the problem returned.
So, after a lot of wasted time, I'm back to where I started.
I'm getting rather angry about this.
Apple needs to fix this problem -- TODAY
How could Apple release a new version of iTunes with this problem?
If you call Tech Support and they try to tell you they have not heard of this problem before, just give them this list of links to discussions concerning the crashing issue:

"the activex control for flash player could not be registered" - Solutions Roundup
I recently ran into this problem on my computer:
http://at32.s3.amazonaws.com/flash_install_problems2.jpg
I am a Flash developer (as in I write SWFs, I don't work for Adobe). and when I updated IE to 10.2, "the activex control for flash player could not be registered". Since I am a developer, I also have Firefox and Chrome installed, with Flash running without problems. For a long time now, Internet Explorer has used a different version (ActiveX) to the other browsers, which use plugins. I am a strong supporter of Flash, it's great to develop with and has a very wide feature set which is growing all the time, unlike fixed technologies/standards. However, the weakest part is the install process - I don't understand why their is a Download Manager. Google Chrome does it's best (so far) by managing the install/update process entirely in the background. Anyway, it was in my best interest to try and get to the bottom of this.
For the record, on the problem machine I have Windows 7 with IE8, but I have seen almost identical symptoms with IE9, Windows XP SP3, as well as various iterations of Flash Player (10.0, 10.1, 10.2 and even some final editions of version 9).
First I tried the standard support here:
http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/191/tn_19166.html
Basically, doing the manual uninstall and manual install of the latest version (without using the download manager, or have IE open). This did not work. I also tried the Microsoft "subinacl" program, together with "reset_fp10.bat". This didn't work either. However, you should try all of these things first before progressing further.
A quick note about people who had tried running the following at a command prompt: "secedit /configure /cfg %windir%\repair\secsetup.inf /db secsetup.sdb /verbose"
I didn't do this, because on investigating further it didn't seem to work with Windows 7, only Windows XP, Windows 2000 or Windows 2003 - though there was a few threads where this had fixed the problem for some users.
For my solution, it is recommended you use the manual uninstall / installers, so you should have them downloaded ready to use.
I then heard about problems with permissions in the registry with the key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes\shockwaveflash.shockwave
So I opened regedit.exe (start - run - typed "regedit.exe"), navigated to the key and sure enough, I couldn't open it - permission denied - even though I had an administrator account. If for some reason, you can access this key (and any subkeys), then it's likely the following fix will not resolve the problem.
I then done further diagnosis, by using Process Monitor to try and install Flash Player, and I got the following:
http://at32.s3.amazonaws.com/flash_install_problems.gif
This shows all the access denied errors the Flash Player install was experiencing when trying to write to the registry key. This confirmed that this was the problem. I only stress this because several people said it was unwise to tinker with the registry. Though this is common advice, this is the only known fix for this precise problem at present, since you need to manually adjust the permissions yourself. I don't know who is at fault here - Microsoft or Adobe - but let's just get Flash fixed...
The solution:
Firstly, you may want to backup your registry, or the exact key. I didn't do this so I've provided no instructions on how to, but it is recommended for the paranoid. Also make sure as much software is closed down as possible - browsers, IM software, any junk in your system tray. As way of example, I happened to have "BBC iPlayer" installed and running in the background which uses Adobe AIR and Flash Player, so I exited that too.
1) Open regedit (start - run - type "regedit.exe"). You may need to right click on it and select "Run As Administrator", but I didn't as my account was already administrator.
2) Navigate to the key. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes\shockwaveflash.shockwave
Click on it to confirm that you cannot access it (you will get an error) - if their are no problems - this probably isn't the cause of your issues.
3) Right click on it and click Permissions, and ignore any message that may pop up.
4) Under "Group or Usernames" click "Add". Type your account name name, or "Administrators" in the box, then "Check Names" to format it correctly, then Ok.
5) Now on the next screen click the checkbox to enable Full Control (this will also automatically enable "Read" permission too).
6) Click Advanced, then the "Owner" tab at the top. You will see that their is no "Current Owner". This is what we will now fix.
7) Click on your name to change the owner to (I went for Administrators). Also enable the checkbox entitled "Replace Owner on subcontainers and objects". Then click Ok. You will get an error message, which you can try clicking Retry to, but hit Cancel - this is not a problem.
8) Click Ok a couple of times and this part of your registry is now fixed.
9) Now it's a simple case of running the manual Flash uninstall program, then finally the manual Flash installer (for Active X - not the Firefox/Chrome plugin versions). To my surprise, after a couple of days looking into this - I finally had a solution and Flash in IE once more. If you are using Firefox too you may find Flash is no longer installed their (the uninstaller removed it). In this case just install via the Adobe site or try to watch a video on You Tube and you will be prompted or linked to the install.
Hope this provides a good round up of the possible solutions to this problem. Hopefully Microsoft or Adobe can find out what causes this issue in the first place so we don't have to go down this route for much longer. Chrome's implementation of Flash shows how effortlessly things can work! They will stay on the screen. However, Process Monitor is only intended for advanced users. It is recommended that users try to navigate to the troublesome registry key using regedit, and see if they can access it or not without an error. This is far easier than trying to use Process Monitor, which is very complicated.
I used Process Monitor to confirm that it was just that key which was causing the problem, and not others. Process Monitor is not to be confused with the new Resource Monitor which is accessible via Task Manager in Windows 7 (and possibly Vista). If you must experiment (and Process Monitor is very useful for diagnosing many deep-level problems if you know what you're looking for) Process Monitor can be downloaded from here:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645
It replaces the older Sysinternals "FileMon" and "RegMon". For those interested in the technical side, I had to setup a number of filters to be able to get the results display as in the screenshot. First of all to just show Registry events. Then to just show events from the manual Flash activeX installer executable. The I added a filter to show only non-successfull results. And finally, for the purposes of the screenshot, added a filter to just show those with "Access Denied", since other non-critical errors are also picked up due to missing keys because installation has not yet been fully completed I guess. When experimenting, most of these filters were applied using the "is not" boolean logic, which will make sense if you experiment with the program.
Without adding any filters, it picks up so many events (hundreds per second) that it's otherwise unusable. e.g. 40,000 events within the first few seconds of opening the program. For this reason, I recommend simply using Regedit to diagnose the problem with the particular Flash registry key. -
ActiveX control for Flash Player could not be registered - no solutions work
I am getting the "ActiveX control for Flash Player could not be registered" when I try to install 11 on IE9 (Windows 7 64-bit). I have tried everything that has been suggested in other posts and forums to no avail. This is driving me crazy and hindering me from work. Can someone please help? Thank you!
I just had this issue and have been searching and searching for a way to fix this issue. I have a Windows 7 64 bit system and this was happening with IE 9. But I have found the solution.
Go to http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/494/cpsid_49419.html and follow these instructions. This worked for my system and I was able top install the newest flash with no problems.
Make sure you are logged into a Windows Administrator account. If you are not, you will not be able to use SubInACL.
Download SubInACL from the Microsoft Download Center.
Follow the installation instructions. Make sure you install SubInACL (subinacl.exe) to the directory C:\Program Files\Windows Resource Kits\Tools.
Download the reset_fp10.zip file.
Open the fp10.zip file and extract the reset_fp10.cmd file to the directory C:\Program Files\Windows Resource Kits\Tools\.
Both this file and SubInACL (subinacl.exe) must be in this directory.
Double-click reset_fp10.cmd. A command window will open, and SubInACL will run.
Do not use the machine while SubInACL is running.
After SubInACL finishes, you will see a prompt "Press any key to continue".
Install Flash Player from the Flash Player download page.
To confirm that your installation succeeded, visit the About Flash Player page. At the top of the screen, you should see a message that reads "Adobe Flash Player Successfully Installed." -
I play alot of games on Facebook. I have started encountering a problem with my "flash player crashing"... I have uninstalled all Adobe products and reinstalled them to no avail. It seems to happen more when I am using the games put out by Zynga. I cannot understand why it's happening, and certainly don't know what to do to fix it. I sure would appreciate any help you can give me!

Is there a solution or work around for flash player issues?
Is there a solution, app or work around for flash player issues w/ iPad 2? Maybe even something in development?
Browser apps such as Skyfire, iSwifter and Puffin 'work' on some sites, but judging by their reviews not all sites. Also some websites, especially news sites, have their own apps in the App Store, so you could try checking there for your sites (and there is the built-in YouTube app). But flash itself is unlikely to ever be supported on the iPad : http://www.apple.com/hotnews/thoughts-on-flash/ , and Adobe have failed to create a version of flash that works on iOS
There is a search box on the right-hand side of this page for further info. -
Flash player 10 problem for Flex textinput in Chinese
I make a application to capture the user textinput in Chinese.
I test this in windows xp using xp default text input editor.
In flash player 9, the input editor is located at close to the textinput field and move according to the text.
however for flash player 10, the text editor is located at upper left corner of the location and does not move according to the text.
any idea ?Are you using Flex 4 controls on FP10? They use a different input mechanism
which is still not quite working well with IME. -
Flash Player crashing on every website I go to
I'm running on windows 7 using firefox. I need help. Literally every page I go to flash player crashes about 4 times and I have to press "stop pluggin" and wait 30 seconds for the page to respond over and over. I'm about ready to either give up on adobe or firefox. I've done the whole uninstall and made sure I have the latest version of flash player and it is enabled. The next step on correcting the problem was to go to the help page and open settings by right clicking on the Adobe logo, however, I couldn't do that because flash player crashed and I had to "stop plugin", therefore I couldn't even see the logo. I don't know much about computers, but I was able to correct the constant crashing problems on my mother's computer pretty easily. Mine is now worse and I can't fix it. Please use layman's terms, I'm an English teacher, not very tech savvy. I've been having trouble understanding some of the instructions I've found in these forums.
I'm trying to prepare for the school year, and I can't work with this constant issue! Please help!
Thank you!I am just as frustrated as you are, sadly enough. I have tried EVERYTHING!!
Have you had any success, and if so, will you share the solution please.
Thanks -
What to do now that Adobe ended support for Flash Player 10.3?
Adobe ended support for Flash Player 10.3 on July 9. Downloads are no longer available anywhere that I can find. Adobe says 11.7 is now the "extended release" version. Since 10.3 has been the only solution when the latest Flash Player version won't work with Firefox, what do we do now? I have tested every Flash Player release after 10.3, and each starts crashing repeatedly after 24 hours. Each time, retreat to 10.3 was the only solution. The other suggestions in Firefox help don't work. I uninstalled 10.3 a few days ago to test 11.8 - the latest. It doesn't work with Firefox. Now I could only install 11.7. It hasn't failed yet, but it probably will tomorrow.
If Flash Player 11.8 and 11.7 don't work, and 10.3 is unavailable, what can we do?You can check for problems with current Flash plugin versions and try these:
*disable a possible RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension for Firefox and update the RealPlayer if installed
*disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Flash 11.3+ on Windows Vista and later)
*disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

Flash Player Crashing every time it is opened
About a week ago I decided to remove the trial version of PSE from my computer. The trial period was over and to be honest I like Gimp much, much better (even more so now given all the problems I have encountered this past week.) I had a very difficult time getting PSE removed from my computer; even running my system as an administrator with full permissions granted, I kept getting the message that I did not have permission to change this file, it required an administrator. WTF big time! I contacted tech support to find out why I was having this problem, but unfortunately poor Gilligan was so lost all he could do was imply that I must be lying. Yes, that actually happened folks. I asked to be connected to a higher level and was supplied with a dead link. I finally got this Adobe crapware off my computer using brute force-yes Virginia, I did try using uninstall utilities of several flavors. There was no uninstall feature with the PSE software which led Gilligan to tell me I did not know what I was doing or talking about; I don't work for Adobe so I do know a little bit about what I am doing, sorry Gilligan. In cleaning the registery I was shocked to see what Adobe had placed in my system and even more shocked to see where it had been placed; why does Adobe feel the need to hide data miners in their crapware?
Since this issue with PSE, Flash Player has completely stopped functioning; prior to this everything functioned flawlessly. However, now every time I encounter flash content on a web page I am greeted by that familiar greyed out message, "Adobe Flash Player has crashed, send an error reort." I am not exagerating when I say that I have submitted well in excess of 100 error reports just in the past day alone. I have uninstalled and reinstaled new copies of Flash Player several times now, the latest version, 11 I think it was, as well as some of the archived older versions; after every install I have been directed to an Adobe web page telling me that Flash has been properly installed. My drivers are up to date on EVERYTHING, I utilize a utility that checks for updates regularly. I am running Windows 7 in a 64 bit environment (and yes I know for a fact that it is 64bit as I installed the 64 bit OS, and have verified it.) Using the latest version of IE, 9.0.8112.16421 (both 32 and 64 bit versions), when Flash Player crashes so does IE, every time. I open a web page containing flash content and poof, adobe error message followed by the IE error message, "something has caused IE to stop working properly." Using the most current version of FF, 8.0.1, this happens about 50% of the time and wipes my RAM completely clean clean when it crashes. I have removed everything branded as Adobe from my computer, and attempted starting from scratch. The only option I know of that is left is to wipe the drive clean and reinstall everything from scratch (yes Gilligan, that really is the only thing that has yet to be tried that I personally know of.)
So do I just give up and resign myself to never again see an online video until web developers realize just how crappy Adobe software has become and cleanse the web of flash and all things Adobe?? Or is there by some slim chance someone out there that has found a work around? What would really be nice is to have an alternative to Adobe Flash; I guess this shows why monopolies are a very bad thing as it allows for this sort of crap (trust me, I want to say so much worse right now, I really have come to despise Adobe) to go unchecked as long as they can turn a profit. So, any suggestions????I dont know what's happening, Abode crashes all the time. I installed the latest version of Java, Mozilla, all updates on windows XP. Ca you help me?

Flash player Crashes every time 3 items or more running...
Since I updated to Flash Player 11,7,700,169 every time 3 or more Flash player items run, Flash Player crashes.
This happens in either Firefox or IE!
Eg.If the problem occurs in Firefox when I also have IE open then it affects IE & Vice Versa...
Is there a fix for this as it's becoming ridiculous now with the amount of crashes happening?

avrt.dll C:\Windows\System32\avrt.dll 6.2.9200.16420Hi Chris,
I'm not the original reporter, but I can confirm IE9 crashes in my wife's Windows 7 computer every time, on this site: http://dk.timefor.tv after latest update. Whenever she presses the "TV-Guide" link, it'll crash. It also happens if she opens the http://dk.timefor.tv/tv-guide directly, but in that case not until she leaves the page or closes the browser. Other sites are not quite as consistent, but after the update she sees a _lot_ of crashes, to the point that she's had to disable the plugin and use Chrome for sites using Flash instead.
IE9 in my own computer doesn't have the same problem (Both are 64-bit Windows 7, her computer is a T420 with a Core i5-2410M and 4 GB RAM).
I'm sending you the dump now (John, please note that you need to use -f * instead of -f "" to actually get it to create the dump, -f "" just shows that there was an exception, it wont dump it).
A funny thing I noticed is that her add-on manager thought that the plugin was 10.x (can't remember the exact version), even though more information said that the file was "Flash32_11_7_700_169.ocx" until I completely removed the Flash plugin installation and installed it again. However, the crash persists, even though the version is correct now (the dump is from the freshly installed version).
Another difference I saw between our machines was that the Flash updater on my PC did not require IE to be closed, but hers did, both when trying to re-update and doing the fresh install.
Best regards,
Dennis Du Krøger -
Adobe flash player crashing my whole computer could anyone please help?

This is my problem:
The newest flash player crashes everytime I open certain web pages like failblog or tinychat which requires a webcam
I'm not sure what is causing it but it's only when i'm on those webpages that it crashes...
I can go on youtube kongregate steam and I can play tons of games the only thing I cant do is go on certain websites that messes with the newest version of flash for some reason...
I can use ANY other version of adobe flash and it won't crash at all but the problem with using the older versions is that I can't use my webcam on certain sites.
Will there be another update release for adobe flash that will fix this problem? The previous version was fine I don't know what was changed but will it get fixed?
And yes I have also been into the error logs but it doesn't show anything and the codes that it does show, people don't know what the hell it means lol just a bunch of binary number like data...I could post that but I doubt it would be of any help it's just a few short lines of numbers on each crash...I have purposely crashed my computer about 2 times to check if error logs popup and to see what is crashing the flash player but nothing changes in the crash log..
So to sum my problems up into a short paragraph....newest flash player crashes my computer when I go on webcam/webchat/certain websites with flash videos on it, also if I right click and try to tamper with the settings it also crashes my computer...I would like to know if there's a possible fix for this or will there be another update released anytime soon?
Please help and thank you for all future responses I will continue to use older versions of flash player till this problem is resolved, also on my newer i-7 620 processor 5850 ati laptop it crashes but rarely although I can use my webcam on msn on that computer but this is one has problems....Sorry I wasn't able to respond for a while I work two jobs so I really don't have time for this although I would still like to get this solved very much.
In the event viewer all it says is that there was an unexpected shut down.
I have checked and updated everything on both computers I tried to disable hardware acceleration and that still didn't change anything.
Sometimes when I try to just right click on a flash player and change the settings it crashes, if I try to load certain pages it crashes, if I try to use a webcam chat on a webcam site it crashes. Though I can still view other people's webcams in chat ex: tinychat I could be in there chatting away with some friends from across country and nothing will happen until I click webcam and flash player asks to allow, it will crash if I try to right click anywhere and that little flash settings popup it crashes.
All of this happens when I use the most current version of flash player any other previous version will not crash when doing any of this although I can't use my webcam since the website is running an updated version which is why I would like to get this problem fixed.
The new firefox update didn't help at all it still just freezes. There is no blue screen, no crash error report, no event log. The event viewer just says it was shut down unexpectedly.
I also tried uninstalling all webcam applications unplugging my webcam and that didn't affect it at all. I've done everything that people have been doing on here to solve there problems, I used the search button and tried options from various threads but none work for me.
I can do everything normally that requires flash player like play games, watch videos, and other stuff but it just crashes when I do those certain things as stated above. It's weird that there is no log, no anything just a freeze and I can't do anything to the computer i've tried letting it sit for about 15 minutes but it didn't respond. I used ctrl alt del after a while, alt tab, alt f4, holding down certain keys, holding the power button in for a while and nothing will happen. It just sits frozen untill I unplug it.
Is there anything I can do to get an error log of the crash since event viewer isn't working? -
Flash Player crashes on every browser?
I know this topic seems to be common, but a lot of the things I have seen in other posts really has not helped me at all.
So, I think it's my turn to ask.
I am on Flash 11.2.202.235.
My OS is Mac OS X Lion.
No matter what browser I use, or at least the three that are on this computer, they all don't work and there's no crash report that could help me at all. It crashes every so often after maybe, 2 or 3 youtube videos or 5 or 10 minutes of seeing anything that would require flash.
First, when Flash Player crashes on Google Chrome 19, the whole webpage turns white, and I have to reload the page countless amounts of times until it works again.
When I try in Firefox, an error pops up that says "The Adobe Flash Plugin has crashed. No report available. Reload the page to try again." With a very depressed looking lego block.
When it crashes in Safari, the area of what is supposed to be the thing using flash becomes white and nothing happens.
I've tried reinstalling, clearing cache, deleting the browsers and reinstalling, and all of that, but, it continues to crash and I hope someone could help me!
Thanks!Hi,
Sorry for cutting in. I have exactly the same problem too and all things have been done, but no luck. I am using a Mac Pro with OS X 10.7.4, and here comes my about:flash results:
