I am not working in retail, but the docu found in the initial screen clearly says it is without special stock.
however, it says as well, if you need functions that are not provided, then you shall use MI31 instead.
first I would open a call at SAP and tell them that WV31 does include consignment despite of different info in the docu.
if it is a bug, then SAP will fix it.
If it is design, then you have to use MI31, and SAP may change the docu in future releases.

Assessment for need of SAP Implementation

Hi,
I am asked to do an assessment for fitment of SAP for a client.Need to perform system / architecture check or a health check of the SAP system. Request you all to share if any standard template or questionaire if available.

check the version of SAP
Find out what other systems they have?
Check what the OS is?
Check the database?
Find out any business requirements
Review their early warning report if applicable, this should show you if the system is in good health.
check the size of growth, perhaps archiving could be considered.
Talk through UNICODE with them.
Review their GUI
Explain some of the new functionality available in ERP 6.0, would this be beneficial?
Do they use Solution Manager?

and country version is for UK.. So we have downloaded the relevant components . I wanted to know
further information on this as to how to proceed with them . Is it similar to Support Pack Application?

SAP IS Retail Outbound Idoc Creation for New Articles

Hi SAP Gurus,
Good day!
I would like to inquire if you are familiar with the necessary set up to create OUTbound Idocs to be sent to POS whenever a new article is created. I have already activated the Change Pointers for the Message Types for IS Retail via BD50. However, this did not solve the issue. I have an existing material which ably triggers the idoc change;however, when I try accessing the materials I created recently, no idocs are created.

Now a days the SAP jobs for SD consultants are very less but for MM consultants jobs are there in the market. Co's dnt event hire the experienced SD consultants also because now a days new dimensional courses takes place of the SD like SRM, CRm etc..

Dear Rao,
to decide if you are going to use ECC 6.0 with activated Retail Switch (SAP Retail ) or not, in my experience you have to take a close look at the processes that are supposed to be supported.
You mentioned Retail selling: are we talking about a Retail business where you connect POS systems to the ERP system and sell to consumers (more or less) always on the same price? This would be an indicator to use SAP Retail, as only this offers a POS Interface to download data (articles, prices, promotions..) to a POS system and also can process POS data (sales data, financial postings). But this just one out of several possible indicators.
A good way to start this process evaluation is actually to evaluate what kind of customers you have: known customer, for whom you need to calculate the sales prices within every sales transcation or consumers only. What processes concerning selling to customers need to be supported
You also might want to consider if you need one or more of the functionalities that only SAP Retail offers: e.g. Retail Promotion, Allocation table, the afore mentioned POS Interface, listing and assortment management. There also some limitations using SAP Retail compared with ECC 6.0 w/o Retail Switch which also need to taken into consideration. Please refer for more information to the Retail Wiki . Patch strategy for ECC6 in SAP NW2004s environment

Hi Experts,
Our SAPNW04s landscape consists of ECC6, BI 7.0, EP7.0 , SRM, XI, Solution Manager systems. We are drafting patch upgrade strategy for the ECC6 system & have 2 options:
Option 1: Apply patches only in ECC6 & not in other components.
Option 2: Patch ECC6 together with other components like SRM, BI, EP etc.
Option 2 will make things complicated but for Option 1 below are the 2 concerns/questions raised:
1. Option 1 will lead to doing UAT twice for Business Processes which have a tight integration with ECC6, for ex. UAT for data extraction needs to be done after applying patches both in the ECC6 & the BI systems. This will lead to arrange for more user resources.
2. Due to the tight integration between ECC6 & other components applying patches alone in the ECC6 might lead to other systems like BI, EP,SRM, XI etc at a lower level & they might not be able to connect to ECC6 or work properly with ECC6.
Can somebody share how they are managing the ECC6 patches upgrade in a big NW2004s environment with other components present, are the ECC6 patches done standalone & other systems like EP, BI follow their own different time schedules for patching or ECC6, BI, EP are recommended to be done together.
Are there any best practices recommendations from SAP on the same?. Can somebody share the blueprint or any strategy document they are using.

For the reasons you outline in 2, it is recommended to patch entire business scenarios (i.e. business processess that are coupled integrated across systems) together. Conflict between 2 business services for the same SAP R/3 instance

Hi,
We developed a packaged solution that connects to SAP R/3 with RFC Adaptor and idoc Adaptor.
We deliver design and configuration packages defining the entire integration schema between an external system and SAP.
The configuration defines a business service BS_SAP_R3 containing RFC and idoc communications channels.
When we deploy and configure the solution (design and config) on a XI instance we have a conflict.
As the XI already contains a Business Service connecting to the same SAP instance (other integration) we want to use with our business service BS_SAP_R3, we have an error when configuring the Adapter-Specific Identifiers properties R/3 System ID and Client from the section IDoc Adapter and RFC Adapter with the message, for the BS_SAP_R3
Check Result for Object BS_SAP_R3
SAP system ID D46 and client 800 already exist in service | BC_TEST_SAP_R3 
Is there a way to solve this conflict problem?

Could you give more details about the design issue and what you have on mind?
I also suspect a design issue but do not know how to solve it...
If in your Configuration you have 150 Receivers Determinations, Interface Determinations and Receiver Agreements referencing the same BS business service to access SAP, can you make the service configurable in any sort
Can you recommend another solution?
The only solution I see it to regenerate all the configuration by hand using the already exiting SAP BS But for 150 objects it is not a real solution...
