Solution for removing unsafe versions of flash player embedded in HP apps?

Windows 7 64 bit IE 9 Flash Player 10.3.183.10 (the most current I can get--I have read the discussion on the update issues.) I have a 5 week old Dell system and have had an HP Officejet installed for 3 weeks. My security software detected 2 security vulnerabilities; one "Highly Critical" and the other "Extremely Critical." These are Flash Player 9.0r115 and version 10.0. Both are embedded in the HP printer setup files from the installation disk. These versions must be updated/patched for best system security. The problem is that while I have the updated version of Flash Player on my computer, the versions in these HP apps stubbornly refuse to be updated--and can't be uninstalled without activating annoying little nag boxes which constantly pester me to reinstall the HP "Solution Center" at each logon. After 3 weeks, this app suddenly decided that an .exe file was incompatible and the only thing that is different is the fact that I uninstalled (deleted) the outdated/dangerous Flash Players when they could not be updated. HP's technical support suggested that I uninstall the Solution Center entirely--but I got a warning that I would no longer be able to use my printer. Their only other advice was to "contact Adobe". Do you have any suggestions as to how to make Flash Player "play nice" with the Solution Center?---preferably the correct, updated version of Flash Player, so as to avoid any security issues---and how I might get that correct version installed in the correct file path? I suggest that you uninstall all FP versions using the uninstaller from http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html
Download the installer(s) from http://forums.adobe.com/thread/889580 and reinstall.

Is my PC too old/slow for the latest version of Flash player?

Hello there guys.
I wish I had noted down which version of flash player I was using before I updated to the new one, as I had not updated for a year or two and the old version worked fine but the new one does not. The symptoms of the new one I would describe in youtube videos or live streaming, the video quality is in slow motion and skips as if trying to catch up with the audio every 6 seconds or so.
I have tried all the steps such as turning off hardware accelration, deleting excess plug-ins, only running one program at a time, ensuring its the latest version of flash, deleting flash browser data and cache and increasing storage limit.
My PC specifications are as follows:
AMD Athlon(tm) XP
1.05GHz, 1.00 of RAM
128 Mb of graphic memory
Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 3
I am using Mozilla Firefox, the latest version as it updates itself automatically
I tried watching HTML5 and non-HTML5 video's and both were laggy.
I have checked the system requirements for the flash version I am having trouble with (Adobe Flash Player 11.7.700.202) and it says it requires 2.33Ghz or faster to run so is it just a case of my PC is too old and slow processor to run the latest flash?
If this is the case could someone recommend an archived version that will work for my system and using firefox.

Where can I find info on different updated versions of Flash Player?
     This info includes:
          Changes/updates/improvements to the program
          Version number
Also, how do I view my own program's version number? I'm sure it's straightforward but I haven't tried looking.

How do you remove older versions of flash player?

I have uninstalled the flash player and re-installed with the
new version, but I am still unable to get rid of version 9.0.115.0.
I can not find anything on the adobe site to remedy this. This is
my first laptop and don't want any unnecessary vulnerabilities on

I have Macromedia Flash Player versions 4.0.7.0, 6.0.80.0,
6.0.79.0 and 7.0.19.0 on my system and have tried using the Adobe
uninstaller multiple time to no avail (does it just uninstall from
the browser?). Anyway, I agree it appears these old files may be
vulnerable. Why does Adobe make it so difficult to remove old
programs? By the way they do not appear in my Windows Add/Remove
list. Please give us some specific method to remove them (not just
another reference to the uninstaller). Thank you

as im sure you all know the new flash player SUCKS nothing works with it, i need a link to the last usable flash player that allows live streams to play, im running windows xp 32bit, IE8.

well, thanksfor the tip, but it didn't help at all.
i try'd the site you recomended, found the file download for 10.0.45.2, but when i click download it prompts for 10.1, and its not just the site you recomended, i try'd tons (probably 30 sites) of downloads, and it all does the same thing, so it leads me to believe that adobe has made it so whenever 10.0.45.2 is trying to be downloaded, it redirects it to the 10.1 (totally fail) file. oh well, not many choices here.. guess ill have to stick with 10.1 till they fix their HUGE mistake, and live without watching live streams for a while.. x.x D:

As far as I know, we don't have an official page that lists when a version stops receiving security fixes. I suspect we'll do a blog post when this occurs and I'll also update in our announcement forum which you can find here:

For the past week, I am unable to view videos. The page comes up with this comment: "Blocked plug-in" and it suggests that I download the latest version of Flash player. I have downloaded that and still get the same comment. Please help.

I have an iMac11.2 and am running Mac OS 10.6.8. I have not had a problem viewing videos until the past week or so. Now I cannot view videos on my news, facebook or in email messages at all. I am experiencing problems with one particular web site which uses Flash technology to operate its web site., which is:

It has been suggested to me that I check I have installed the correct Flash Player for the web browser
I am using which is Internet Explorer 8, that in particular I should check I have not installed in error a Flash Player
for "other browsers". I do not know how to check if the version of Flash Player I have installed is the correct one for
Internet Explorer, but, when I go to the Adobe web site at:

it states that Flash Player is successfully installed.

The new versions of Flash Player for Android are still not in the Archive page!

I feel like something is missing in the Flash Player Archive page. Yesterday, I read that the new Flash Player version for Android 2.x/3.x is now version 11.1.111.73, and that the new Flash Player version for Android 4.x is now 11.1.115.81, but instead, all I see are previous versions of Flash Player for Android 4.x, 3.x, and 2.x! When will the newest Flash Player versions for Android be available to the archive page? How to find and install the best version of Flash Player for a G4?

My dad has a Mac with OS 10.4.11. It's an 800 MHz Power PC G4 with 768 MB of memory SDRAM. His current version of Flash Player hardly works (video comes out as single images every few seconds) so we want to update it so he can watch You Tube and the like. We went to the page to install a new version that would work with OS 10.4 and received an error saying that that version of FP cannot be installed because Power PCs are no longer supported.
Can someone lead us in the right direction? We use Safari as our browser (it's version 4.0.4--kinda old, I think--could that have something to do with it?). We just want the best version of FP that will work with this set-up. Thanks.

I actually want to deploy the last version of Flash Player (plugin and activex) on my computer network.
After installing the latest version (v10.1), I have seen that my old .ocx files where deleted automatically from the folder "C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash" but one file remains Flash10e.ocx (and I have the latest version too Flash10h.ocx).
In my logfile, I have this :

It's quite difficult to deploy the new version of Flash or 5000 computers with this method .
It's quite difficult to force users to close their browser each time I would like to update an Adobe product (moreover, not every users are online during the deployment etc...).
I have updated my Adobe Flash while IE was opened and it seems to work (except the fact that I have one another .ocx file that I dont want).

Due to chronic crashes of the Firefox plug-in, the game developers have recommended reverting to

I would suggest if you can to Download and SAVE the Installer version to your Desktop.
Be sure to use the Uninstaller to remove the 10.1 first. You can download it and SAVE it to your Desktop.
I'd review the Uninstall instructions to make sure you have a clean Uninstall.

After you have those on your Desktop and following the instructions for Uninstall, then Close all browsers. Uninstall, then reboot and follow that with the Install and then reboot.
