Solution landscape is blank in DSWP.
Our tech. person configure the Solman of IMG and following
1)Configured one new solution with id,cust no,lang. etc.
2)Maintained system land landscape in SMSY.
3)LANDSCAPE components were --server,db,systems,system components were created.
4)Initial data transfer to IB52 was successful.
When we go to DSWP,Select solution, the next screen displays ,on left side
--Solution overview,operation setup,operations Buttons.
But on right side nothing appears except blank white screen.
Why items like solution land landscape, solution monitoring or
service desk tabs or for that matter no Tabs appears.
What is missing
any ideas pl.?
Hey there Ragh,
You need to go into the Solution Landscape Maintenace and 'activate' the respective systems befoe they will show-up in the overall map (assuming that you have both assigned logical components to your landscape already and activated monitoring as per the manual for Solution Manager).
In your landscape view - goto Operations Setup, then Solution Landscape Maintenance. In the matrix of systems that are in the Landscape view, highlight the respective systems that you want monitored in the environment and hit the 'System' button (the one with the red and green ball in it). The system icon should go green and now that system will show in your Solution Landscape.
Question why this occured? You probably choose Poduction as the lead role and didn't have a production system in the logical component that you assigned.
Let me know if that helped with your problem. If you don't have any systems to 'activate' then this is another issue all together.

Solution landscape doesn't appear in Solution Manager Diagnostics
Dear all,
I have configured 6 Solution Landscapes in transaction solution_manager. One for ECC5, one for PI 7.0, one for BI 7.0, one for Solution Manager 7.0, one for SRM 4.0 and finally one for NW 04 Portal.
When I go to my Solution Manager Diagnostics URL
https://solman.domain.com:50001/smd and I do Diagnostics Setup --> Managed Systems --> Setup Wizard, I see there all the Solution Landscapes I have configured except for the NW 04 Portal one. Any ideas why I can not see this landscape? I am trying to think if I have missed any configuration but I can not think of something
Many thanks

SolMan 4.0: SMSY: Delete unwanted landscape from Solution Landscapes
Hello there everyone,
Previously, my colleague and I have created a few solution landscapes in SMSY -> System Groups and Logical Components -> Solution Landscapes - Operation.
We were experimenting as we're new to SolMan 4.0.
Problem now is, we cannot find the button to delete off those unwanted solution landscapes. When right-click on a landscape, it only shows 'Display' or 'Change'.
Is there anyway to delete within SMSY?
Many, many thanks in advanced. =)
Warmest regards,
EvaHi,
Its simple.
You should create a where-used list before you delete systems, servers or databases....
1.You cannot delete an object you are editing, if you are in change mode. Go to display mode.
Choose Landscape Components-->Other Object
2.Search for the landscape element to be deleted, in the possible entries help.
3.Choose Delete.
4.Confirm the confirmation prompt.
The landscape element and all its uses are deleted.
Check this link also.

Solution Landscape vs CEN Setup
Hello all,
i am unsure how to setup the Solution Manager 4.0 for monitoring a sattelite system like a XI-Server.
Possibility one:
Within the Solution Manager you can maintain a solution landscape. The solution landscape allows monitoring CCMS alerts on the sattelite system as well as administering the sattelite system by calling several transactions remotely on the sattelite systems.
Possibility two:
On Solution Manager you have also the possibility to setup the Solution Manager as CEN (rz21). Relevant CCMS data is polled via RFC connections or pushed by agents from the sattelite systems to the CEN.
Questions:
What are the advantages/disadvantages on using one or the other possibility? Or is it even a good idea to use both?
Thanks for answers
FrankHello Frank:
1) From the Solution Landscape in the System Monitoring area you will have the possibility to look at the CCMS information that is currently gathered from your monitored systems; you can also from there complete the alerts or navigate into the system to analyze the problem.
2) from CEN you will be able to trigger alerts in terms of email or pager notifications, this is useful if you don't want to look at System Monitoring in the Solution Landscape but you want sort of strong alerting capabilities from a central location if for instance some particular component in the SAP system has reached some threshold value.
I will recommend to use both !
Hope this helps!

Solution Landscape: why Request Check-out button could get greyed out ?
Hi,
We are on SolMan 7.0, SP15, including Ent. Edition add on.
In Solution Landscape maintenance, the Business Processes added to the solution (either directly or those borrowed from a Project) cannot be checked out to a maintenance project becasue the Request button is greyed out.
A simplistic SU53 check did not come up with any authorisation problems.
I am not able to switch on trace and take that route to detect now.
Can you please suggest as to what could be the possible reasons for this to be greyed out; also, have you used the 'Adjust to Original' button to bring latest changes in Project to Solution Landscape ?
Best regards,
SriniHi Rutger,
Thanks for your kind reply.
There is one problem - I am not able to see in my SolMan the 'tickbox' you have mentioned about.
The only sub-sections I see in the Tab there are:
(1) Monitoring
(2) Knowledge Warehouse Information
(3) Copy Criteria for Document
(4) Session Languages
(5) Assigned Maintenace Project
If it's feasible for you, can you please let me have a look at your screenshot as to how the sections look like. I wonder if there is any component missing to be installed.
Best wishes and thanks for your time.
Srini
Hi Rutger,
Thanks for your pointer again. I got a screenshot from a different friend (on another SolMan instance). Came to know of where these check boxes should occur.
Later, I found them in my instance too - the browsing scroll bar was the culprit. One had to go to the very bottom, move the scroll to the right extreme and then move further down. Really a silly mistake.
But, without your help, I wouldn't have know that there were such check boxes at the first place
Cheers,
Srini

View kernel releases of solution landscape systems
Hi,
the view of solution landscape in SM 3.2 (SMSY) provides information about releases and patch levels of each software component, but no information about the SAP kernel release and its patch level. Where can I find this information? I know that Early Watch Reports created by SM provide this data. It would be very useful, if I know the table where that data is stored.
Has somebody an idea how to use SM 3.2 to manage the kernel stacks of landscape systems?
Thanks a lot!I found a solution for myself. There are serveral information MTE classes which provide the necessary information.

Unable to run Solution Manager Diagnostic in txn DSWP
Hi,
In txn DSWP, I click Goto-Solution Manager Diagnostics, the browser is launched with this address:
http:<hostname>:8000/smd
However, it says "Page cannot be displayed"
I have checked that the its services in txn SCIF are activated. I can see HTTP Port 8000 service running in SMICM.
http:<hostname>:50000/smd is running fine.
Does someone has a clue where could have gone wrong?
Points will be rewarded for any helpful answer.
Thanks.
AnnieHi Rajesh,
Unfortunately this is not working. However, I begin to suspect it is due to the firewall.
I refer to the 'Root Cause Analysis Installation and Upgrade Guide" section 5.8 Required TCP ports.
I don't understand when it says "It is recommended to place the SAP Solution Manager within the same subnet or DMZ of your managed landscape."? Does that mean Solution Manager is to be in the same subnet as DMZ?
I have the tendency to believe this might be the cause.
Are you able to tell me if you did anything to the DMZ? Or simply just activate the port 8000 in firewall?
Thanks!

Logical Components and Solution Landscapes - 2 PRD ECC Servers
When I assign my PRD ECC5 server to Logical Components > SAP ECC > SAP ECC Server > SAP ECC, I select the Product Version as SAP ECC5.
From the drop down list on Production System, I can see both my ECC 5 PRD's clients listed. I select one client, all OK. Problem is I have 2 Production ECC5's, both to be used in seperate solutions. So I can only select ONE of these,
How can I use 2 ECC5 Production systems in Logical Components, or does it need to be configured differently?
Thanks,
Derekhi Derek,
you can create more than one logical component under ECC. Just name it something like ZECC2 and the define the systems for this logical component. You can then use the logical component in your project system landscapes.
To add a new one just right click on the text SAP ECC Server and select Create Logical Component.

Hi,
when i execute dswp transaction in solution manager it is not showing buttons like new, display etc (already one system maintained).
reason?
vinnuy.Hello Vinuy,
Check in DSWP>Edit>Global Settings>Connection to SAP, if there is
a RFC connection defined.
If not, please set it to "RFC Connection = SAPOSS". After this you should
be able to execute the program RDSWPRULESUPDATE in the SE38 and this
program created the correct definitions in the Solution Manager
datamodel for your system. This program is automatically scheduled daily
in background by the job SM:UPDATE RULES.
Hope this helps,

Solution to Unresponsive/Blank Screen After/During a Call
Hi all,
I upgraded to iOS4 on my 16GB 3GS and for the past few days my screen has been switching off in calls and then not coming back on again when taken away from the face. This also left the screen blank, after clicking the power button 5 times it woke up, however the touchscreen was unresponsive. I would have to restart it to get it working.
I tried to search for a solution for this and there was advice about restoring and resetting the settings. I carried them all out but with no luck.
After a little bit of lateral thinking I had an idea.
So I took the screen assembly off and then the proximity sensor assembly. I then cleaned the glass where the proximity sensor "sees" through the screen. After this it has started working and hasn't failed once. I believe that it is because the iOS 4.01 update changed the sensitivity of the proximity sensor due to the problems with the iPhone 4's proximity sensor. And hence a slight bit of dust would alter the more sensitive proximity sensor's readings.
Hope this helps somebody, do let me know if my logic above is completely off.1. On call, when you bring your phone near to your ear, the Proximity sensor recognises your ear and turn off the screen so that there is no unwanted inputs as the screen touches your skin. But when you pull it back, it turns the screen on again, but it takes 0.5-1 second to the Max.
If it takes longer, make sure there is nothing in front of sensor (it is placed on top left), like Plastic lamination, some accessory, dust or while you pull off your phone, your finger should not be there.
If it still takes longer, better make your device checked at Nokia Care. If found some problem, they will change the sensor.
2. The mail app is working perfectly fine for me on Wi-Fi. You should try loading some websites in browser, if it takes longer, check network strength, it should be strong on 2G internet (Personal experience- BSNL 2G, residing near Network tower, slow like hell, in INDIA). Try changing provider.

Nokia 5000: Partial solution to screen-blanking pr...
Probably works with other phones. When selecting a Screen-Saver, one of the items on the list is Time-Out. You can set this from 1 second to 60 minutes. Switch phone off and on to activate.
Hi !
What you are doing is very similar to that I'm looking for. I would really appreciate it to see your code even though it doesn't work on the real device. I probably can get some good idea out of your code.
