  • Using TREX in SAP Solution Manager

    Dear all,
I want to setup TREX for document search purpose in my SAP Solution manager system.
There is already TREX installed on another system, & I have setup the connection between solution manager & TREX.
My question is , in order to use TREX for document search , I need to connect solution manager to Knowledge warehouse?
    is this true?
why can't we use TREX to search document in SAP Solution manager, BUT to use functions of SAP Knowledge Warehouse 6.0 or SAP Knowledge Provider, to store documents?
and anyone can show me more detail documentation about the configuration?
thank you very much to share!
    kelly

    Hi Kelly,
You can have a look into the SAP Solution Manager system and there you can call transaction SPRO. You find information for TREX installation with the path:
Solution Manager Implementation Guide ->SAP Solution Manager -> Configuration -> Cross Scenario Settings -> TREX Setup

  • Using HR data in R/3 to create business partners in Solution Manager

Is it OK for me to setup Solution Manager to automatically download HR data from R/3 to create the Business Partners (employee role) in Solution Manager?
We have setup SAP CRM 4.0 to automatically download the HR data and create Business Partners (employee role) in CRM.  Since Solution Manager has the CRM component in it, I assume we can do it as well in Solution Manager.

  • Solution Manager Transaction Code

    Hello Gurus,
    1. Where can I get a list of SAP Solution Manager transaction codes?
    2. Is it true that SAP Solution Manager and SAP CRM transaction codes are almost same?
    Regards, Nabi.

Good morning, Nabi - I would say that it really depends on the scenarios you are planning to implement in Solution Manager. The two big ones that I use for landscape maintenance and system monitoring are SMSY_SETUP (landscape maintenance) and DSWP (monitoring). If you can provide more detail as to what you are trying to or planning to do within Solution Manager, perhaps I can add some more. Another useful feature is that you can now utilize the IMG to see the various tasks whcih can be performed within Solution Manager. If you are in the IMG and select an IMG activity, it takes you to that transaction. You can then go to System --> Status to see what tcode you are in.
We do not use CRM so unfortunately I cannot provide any help with this part of your question.
I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

  • New Partner Function in CRM (Solution Manager Service Desk)

    Hi CRM Gurus!,
Even if this problem is present in my Solution Manager Service Desk I'm creating this thread here in CRM Forum because I thin'k I need the experience of one CRM Expert. Í´ve created this question in Solution Manager Forum also but I hadn´t solved my problem yet.
We add the partner function called "Additional Partner", but I don't know why in the tab "Partners" in the CRM transaction we want to add a new partner but in the partners combo the new one does not appear in the list.
The procedure that I did was: I created a new business partner function and I added this new function to my partner determination procedure, then in SPRO: "Define Partner Determination Procedures" -> I set the option "Only Functions Assigned in Procedure".
These are the values. fro my new function:
    Function: ZSLFN004
    Text: Additional Processor
    Abbrev.: ZAMS
    Function Cat.: 0008 Person Responsible
    Usage: CRM Customer Relationship Managem.
Relatshp Cat: CRMH06 Is Responsible BP For
The partner functions in my procedure are:
    00000001 Sold-To Party (CRM)
    00000046 Approved by (CRM)
    SLFN0001 System Administrator (CRM)
    SLFN0002 Reported by (CRM)
    SLFN0003 Support Team (CRM)
    SLFN0004 Message Processor (CRM)
    ZSLFN004 Additional Processor (CRM)
But in the transactions when I try to add a new partner in the partners tab only the follow functions appears in the combo:
    00000001 Sold-To Party (CRM)
    00000046 Approved by (CRM)
    SLFN0001 System Administrator (CRM)
    SLFN0002 Reported by (CRM)
    SLFN0003 Support Team (CRM)
    SLFN0004 Message Processor (CRM)
I don't know why my ZSLFN004 is not listed in the combo.
By the way, my function was created as a copy of SLFN0004.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Regards
    Gustavo Balboa

    Hi Vishant,
Thanks for your answer, but some one in the Solution Manager forum gave me the answer few minutes ago :). The problem was that in some transaction types (I don't know wich ones or if it aplies to all) the category 0008 - Person Responsible can only appear once, my partner function was a copy of the function SLFN0004 - Message Processor and that function is defined with the category 0008, so I had 2 partner functions defined in the category 0008.
To solve the problem I just adjust my Z function and put the category 0016 - Service Team and let the relationship empty. Then the partner function is now showing in the combo at partners tab.
Again, thanks anyway for the time that you take to answer my question.

  • Integrating Trex search With Solution manager

    HI Guys,
Please help me with this .
Let's say the solution manager is integrated in the SAP Portal and trex is available in the SAP portal.
Can we search documents stored in the solution manager via the trex which is integrated in the SAP Portal? Is there a how-to guide available on the config?
    Any thoughts are appreciated.
    Dev.

    Hi Dev
    I'm facing a similar problem.
We have a trex server. We connected the TRex to our EP KM. Fulltext search in our Portal KM works well.
We have several project documentations on our Solution Manager. I was hoping I could connect the KM repository of the solution manager to our TREX and search the docs from EP. I was able to connect the Solution Manager repository to Trex. The index is working well.
The procedure is described in note 750623 but unfortunately  the note is far away from a how to guide so I hope this helps:
    Trex:
    - Go to Admin Tool. Then landscape - connectivity and click on create "Connection". Enter system information of your solution manager system. Then click on Create - RFC Destination (sm59).
    Solution Manager:
    - Transaction srmo: Create a new Search Server Relation (DRFUZZY) and enter the RFC Destination you created in the above step and set it to default.
    - Transaction spro: SAP Solution Manager - Cross-Scenario Settings - Document Management - Servers - Connect Index Server for Full Text Search.   Click on "Define Index Readiness" and mark both entries for "IWBSolar" and save.
    - Now go tou se38 and start the report RSTIRIDX_REINDEX. Here enter IWBSOlAR for document area and execute.
    - Now go back to spro: Start the IMG activity "Schedule Asynchronous Indexing and De-indexing" and schedule the indexing job (Make sure you have executed the report RSTIRIDX_REINDEX before).
If you want to test the search go to transaction SKPR07, go to tools, select document area IWB Solar and click on "test search".
Unfortunately I don't know if there is any bether transaction for the search.
I was looking for a possibility to search from EP directly to the solman KM.  But unfortunately I didnt' find a solution for this. The only way I know is to connect the solution manager over a transaction iview im EP.
    Hope I could help.

  • Upgrade CRM 3.0 to CRM 5.0 -Is solution manager by SAP required?

    Hello CRM gurus,
We are currently running on CRM version 3.0 and planning an upgrade to CRM 5.0.
Is solution manager absolutely required for this upgrade. I know that SAP heighly recommends it but is it absoutely required.
Also, could you please give me few inputs if you did the upgrade with/without the solution manager?
    Thanks for your inputs,

    Hi Prasoon,
    in the <a href="http://service.sap.com/~sapidb/011000358700005413872005E">CRM 5.0 Upgrade Master Guide</a> I found this:
"Use of SAP Solution Manager is mandatory for mySAP CRM 2005. When you install SAP CRM 5.0 ABAP server or upgrade to this release, you are asked to enter a key generated by the Solution Manager. For more information, see the installation or upgrade guide for SAP CRM 5.0."

  • How to start installing CRM, ERP and SOLUTION MANAGER on a VM

    Dear all,
It has been some years now that I installed a CRM and ERP system (this was in the days of dual stack ). Now I see that dual stack is depricated and that everything runs on a Netweaver base.
    My question is now the following;
Can someone please tell me how to proceed to install these 3 SAP components on 1 server, each on its own virtual machine?
I suspect that I will first have to install the OS (RHEL 5.6 64 bit) and then I will have to install the DB (Oracle 11.2i). After this I start the installation of the SAP component or is there someting I need to do to get the Netweaver part on the server first?
And where can I find EXACTLY which files I need to download from the SAP site for each component, because the CRM part for instance has a ton of files and there is nowhere an indication that says '"this is the normal installation package".
    Kind regards,
    David

    not quite right.
You start sapinst, it will proceed a number of sections and then request you to install the database. Do not install the database before. This is also convered in the respective installation guide.
    > And where can I find EXACTLY which files I need to download from the SAP site for each component, because the CRM part for instance has a ton of files and there is nowhere an indication that says '"this is the normal installation package".
This depends on how you use the CRM system, whether you use componnets, that require Java or not.
All that is covered in the installation and master guides. Yes, they are big and yes, they contain a lot of redundant information. But don't expect to start a program and do next-next-finish.
I would start with Solution Manager becaues you will need that system to generate installation keys for the other systems.

  • Launch CRM 7.0 from SAP Solution Manager

We are buiding the BPH in SAP Solution Manager and would like to store the CRM Business Processes in it as well. Therefore we'll also store the TCodes under the "Transaction" Tab.
Now, i understand that CRM 7.0 uses a web GUI for configuring TCodes. If we launch the TCode from SAP Solution Manager, does it launch a browser with the right IMG Object for the TCode? How does this work?
    Anyone offer any suggestions/thoughts?
    Thank you, in advance.

    Dear Ramesh,
I'm pretty sure that it's possible to launch CRM web GUI components from Solution Manager. You can assign BSP Applications to process steps and launch them.
Most of the configuration in CRM 7.0 is still done via SAP GUI. I think it's only the UI view configuration that can be done in web GUI. However, if you find out which BSP application it is, you should be able to assign it to process steps in the configuration tab. It's done in the same way like assigning TCodes; just use type BSP_APPLICATION instead of BMTA.
    Best regards

  • EWA: error message in CRM check for SAP Solution Manager system

    Hello!
In EWA report for SAP Solution Manager system I have seen error message: Many CSA* inbound queues in error status were detected in your system. As a result of this BDocs have not been delivered. And then table
Queue Name                                Status     Date of first entry             Entries
    CSABUPA0000000070           READY     03.12.2007                          45
    CSABUPA0000000934           READY     07.05.2008                          45

    CSA_ORDER_8000000001      READY     22.11.2007     3
    and others.
I looked transaction smq2. There are 11300 queues in it. Is it actual error or it is a normal situation? And that must I do, to remove an error?
Edited by: Mariya Kurbatova on Jul 2, 2009 6:27 AM

    Hi,
Usually problems with hanaging CSA* queues are caused because too many
indiviaual queues are created for the qRFC resources to handle. You can
limit the number of queues as described in note 763680.
Note 763680 would be useful if all of your qRFC resourcesa are in use
when you have a great number of queues. With a large number of dialog
WPs on the system it would probably make sense to reduce the amount
    as described in the note.
the casue when you have this problem would be to check SMQR -> GOTO ->
qRFC resources. You can also see if most of your dailog WPs are in use
    in SM50.
    Also refer to note 758677.
Please schedule report RSQIWKEX (Inbound) to run as described in the
    note.
And since your title has mentioned that the EWA is on your CRM satellite system; this maybe a further good reference too
When you replicate lots of data from CRM to R/3, there could be a qRFC
resource problem. In this case, the numebr of queues created can be
reduced by implementing the attached note 356228, particularly solution
    2.
    For CSA* queues is slightly different from the one decribed in note;
this is because the CSA queues exchange data within the CRM system.
The steps described should be followed, except that table SMOFQFIND
must be used instead of CRMQNAMES. In this table, fields TR_SNAEMS and
SEGM_FLD are equivalent to the CRMQNAMES fieds BAPISTRUCT and BAPIFLD
respectively. It should be possible to follow the solution 2 in the
note as long as you use SMOFQFIND instead of CRMQNAMES.
    Hope this helps
    Cheers,
    SH

  • CRM/BP/UI config for ITSM in Solution Manager

    Hi,
I do apologise if this has been answered elsewhere - I did do quite a bit of searching first. I have completed the technical configuration of ITSM in our Solution Manager system (7.1 SPS10) and have created BP's for all the SAP users in the default client. Technically, everything seems to be working, but I am now tasked with the "fine tuning" where I need to be able to specify users to belong to a distribution list that must be the first level support, etc. We only really want to use the Service Desk functionality of the ITSM and I don't know how to limit the ITSM configuration to just the Service Desk where a user can log an incident, it must be auto forwarded to the 2 users that are 1st level support and then whatever workflow that needs to be driven from there. I'm open to correction, but this is more the CRM/BP aspect of configuration and I can't seem to find a guide that explains how to do this just for Service Desk on Solution Manager. Can anyone please point me in the right direction?
    Thanks.
    Des.

    Dear Desmond,
I thin you are looking for Dispatching Messages to the support team.  The message dispatching to work properly, the following three core components must be maintained.
              - Organizational Model
              -  Rule Definition
              -  Action Definition

  • How to send Service Ticket from CRM to Solution Manager.

    Hi all,
at present we are creating service tickets relevant to SAP operations in our CRM instance and we plan to continue to do so.
We also would like to forward these created service tickets to the Solution Manager Service Desk.
There is functionality in Solution Manager to bind into an external service desk. However I believe this is only really relevant to binding in another Solution Manager - in any case, there is seemingly very little documentation about this available.
Has anyone ever done this - sending service tickets from CRM to Solution Manager Service Desk? If so, could someone please let me know where I can find the documentation on that. Any help is much appreciated.
