Solution Manager - Can support user user changes manegement ??

Hi All,
In solution manager can change request type as a "New user creation" or "User authorization Change".
So that we can keep track of New user creation or change in authorization that are created in respective R/3 system.
The process flow is same like change management for developement correction or customization correction.
Please give me your comments. It will be very valuable for me.
Thanks in advance.
Ravindra Nikam

As I said, it will depend on the scenarios you will configure.
For the installation, you will not need any. When it comes to the configuration (SOLMAN_SETUP) you'll need the authorizations in SMP for S-User.
You can also check here:

  • Solution Manager 4.0 - S-user configuration?

    Dear community.
I've got a little problem while configure our solution manager 4.0 system.
The satelite systems are configured and implemented and now I want to configure the Service Connections. So that I can open the Service Connections for sap support out of the solution manager.
For that work I have to configure a s-user in the transaction "dswp -> edit -> global settings -> connection to sap" to connect to the sap service market place and to update the systems data.
My problem is that i found anywhere a description what I need for a kind of user and which permissions he should have.
Further the s-users are personlized. When I create a s-user for the solution manager, it shouldn't have a relation to a real person, because it is just for the system. What can i do in that case, when I have to create the user?
I hope you can understand my problem and give me a tipp to resolve it.
    kind regards
    C. Erdmann

    Dear Yoshitaka,
thank you for your quick ansswer.
    To your listet points:
    1) To use the service connection out of the solution manager first of all there has to set a user under the path "dswp -> edit -> global settings -> connection to sap" to download the system definitions out of the service marketplace. This user should only be used for the sap solution manager.
    2) In my point 1) starts the problem that I don't know which permissions I've give to the S-user in the SAP Service Marketplace so that the solution manager can start to download the system definitions out of the service marketplace.
    3) The s-user which I insert in the solution manager should be a special user with no name of a real person. When I create a new User in the service market place I'v got to write down the firstname, lastname and e.g. the position of the person which should get the new s-user. In my case the person which should get the s-user isn't a "real" person, because it is the sap solution manager. So i havnt't a real name position and so on, to create the s-user. Do you now understand what I mean? Of course, a possible solution is to invent a name for the sap solution manager, but that's not what i want. When SAP says that I should insert a s-user in the solution manager they should document what it should be for a user and which permissions he should have.
I searched in all documentations but I found any solution for my problem.
So, if you now understand my problem please answer if you have a solution for me.
    Many thanks.
    Michael

  • SAP Solution Manager - Enterprise Support Report bw cubes

We are looking at the Infoproviders in Solution Manager BW and noticed the data for SAP Solution Manager - Enterprise Support Report.
When we look at these cubes, we are particularly interested in the Software Component Versions.
Unfortunately, all of these data cubes are empty.  Based on some discussions among our colleagues we are wondering if this data is only activated for customers that have the full Enterprise Support agreement in place with SAP?
If that is the case, then so be it (we don't have that level of support).  However, if that is not the case, can anyone suggest a way to populate these cubes.
    thanks,
    Jeff Henke

    Hi,
Solution Manager is a separate component and needs to be installed separately (not possible to install on top of R/3 Enterprise).
You can order SAP Solution Manager Software from SAP or download from http://service.sap.com/swdc
Solution manager is free from SAP and no additional license involved for it's customer for normal use.
You can get more information on Solution manager from http://service.sap.com/solutionmanager
btw: as far as I know for R/3 Enterprise you can still download patches via http://service.sap.com/swdc  without solution manager, For Netweaver 7.0 systems, use of Solution Manager (Maintenance Optimizer) became mandatory.
    Cheers !!
    Satya.
PS: Pls reward points if the answer was helpful...Thx.

  • Solution manager can be used as repository DB with out-of-box integration?

Solution manager can be used as repository DB with out-of-box integration?
    Hi ,
In Our Global SAP Environment, We are looking to use solution manager as a CMDB ( Config management DB) , which is kind of repository DB where it needs to keep track of infrastructure components .
A CMDB about Host consists of elements like
    No. of CPUs,
    RAM  size,
    ...etc
For example in solman SMSY , you get some  information about the SAP Host .
we have multiple CMDB systems , each one for our supplier .
For example Host hardware () CMDB is managed by Vendor1,
Storage CMDB by  vendor 2  , and we need to join the both information , in order to get the Full elements of the Host .
A host information spread across the Multiple Vendor CMDBs.
Now we want to use solman as single CMDB, where Solman keeps track of some data , and needs to get some additional data  from vendor1 by connecting  into
their DB using  the  username/password ..etc
Does the solman has this Out-of-box functionality?
    Thanks
    Vasu .

    Hi - smilar question
If we setup the system monitoring using solution manager , can we able see the TCodes & their screens from solman .
For example Can I able to control my ECC screens (SCC4, RZ10,SMLG,SALE,SPAD,SM59,.... ) from Solution manager ?
    waiting for the reply .
    Thanks
    Vasu

  • Solution Manager 3.2 SP 8- Change Request Management Configuration Problem

    Hi friends,
We are in process of implementing SOLMAN 3.2 SP8 in our landscape.I am facing  problem in configuring change request management.
When the developer is working on an urgent correction document we are facing a problem. The steps we are following are here under provided.
    Step 1 :
Selected Action "In development" - > it created the transport request in the dev system.
    Step 2:
Action "Log into System" -> made correction attached to the transport request manually and released the task.
    Step 3:
Action "Release transport requests" -> The transport request in the development was released.
    Step 4:
Went for action "Pass to correction" -> I am facing exceptions which conveys
    Status was reset by system
A condition is not satisfied because of an exceptional situation
Not all transport requests yet released
And we would be thankful if you provide the authorization required for the different roles in the change request management.I have followed the help file of SOLMAN 3.2 and create the users as under
    User - Role
    SOCM_RQSTR - ZSAP_SOCM_REQUESTER
    (Derrived from SAP_SOCM_REQUESTER)
    SOCM_DVLPR - ZSAP_SOCM_DEVELOPER
    (Derrived from SAP_SOCM_DEVELOPER)
    SOCM_CHNGNGR - ZSAP_SOCM_CHANGE_MANAGER
    (Derrived from SAP_SOCM_CHANGE_MANAGER)
    SOCM_CHNGNGR - ZSAP_SOCM_IT_OPERATOR
    (Derrived from SAP_SOCM_IT_OPERATOR)
Even then I am facing problems while developer creating transport requests and while logging into development system.
I tried adding S_RFC,S_RFCACL auth objects to their roles but did not help.
    Pl. suggest.
    Thanks & Regards

    Hi all,
We are trying to implement the Change Request Management piece in Solution Manager 3.2.
We are facing the following issues which I think relate to the same reason:
1)We have created a Maintenance Project in SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN and assigned it a logical component, which consists of our two system landscape (namely DEVàQAS). We have also created the IMG project in the DEV system and have distributed that IMG project to both the Solution manager system and the DEV system. Now we have to make the maintenance cycle and task list for that maintenance project, but as we select the project and click on “create project cycle” it shows the message "The project is not released. Hence cycle can not be created". It is showing the status of project as locked .How can we open or unlock the project to remove the error?
    2) Also after selecting the SMI project when we click on the button “CTS status switches” or “project specific Transport route” it responds with the error "Project landscape not configured; set the project status to "open" first ".
3)When we click on “synchronize single project” it prompts for the login of connected system (Development System) and after login, it gives an error "Warning, problems during synchronization of the system Landscape".
For Error resolution, we have checked the system landscape and it does not give us any errors. We have done that, both from the solution manager by going to the transaction SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN -->  >system landscape tab>selecting our logical component and doing a check by clicking the "Check system Landscape" button. It returns with "no Errors". We also did a check on the TMS configuration by logging directly on to the TMS domain controller system and checking the Transport routes. We have checked the RFC connections without any errors.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Abhi

    Hi Bruyneel,
I've solved the problem. I think while doing kernel or component upgrade SAP clear all configuration that connected from ABAP and JAVA. You can re-config from config tool.
    1. Goto \usr\sap\<SID>\<SIst.Num>\j2ee\configtool and execute go.bat
    2. cluster-data -> global server configuration -> services -> com.sap.security.core.ume.service.
    3. Configure:
ume.login.guest_user.uniquefields with J2EE_GUEST, and make sure the user is already exist in ABAP
    ume.persistence.data_source_configuration     dataSourceConfiguration_abap.xml
    ume.r3.connection.master.ashost
    ume.r3.connection.master.client
    ume.r3.connection.master.passwd : with SAPJSF user's password
    ume.r3.connection.master.sysnr
    ume.r3.connection.master.user : SAPJSF User

The upgrade paths listed in http://service.sap.com/solman-mopz are supported as of Maintenance Optimizer SP23 . EHP2 for Netweaver 7 is in that list, so it is safe to assume that it is a good idea to get Solution Manager SP23 to be able to run all the upgrade paths.
Also, depending on your S number, it might be possible that you have restricted access to download EHP2 for Netweaver.
What is the S user you are using? What is the Support Package level of your Solution Manager? These are the questions that come to mind at this point.
    Best regards,

  • Solution Manager can't generate  installation key  for Netweaver 2004s

I am trying to generate installation key for a new installation of
Netweaver 2004s or 7.0 and the Solution Manager only display SAP ECC
5.0 or 6.0 in the field production version, when i am trying do create
a new system landscape. My Solution Manager is 4.0 release and support
package 10. The keys generated by ECC 5.0 or 6.0 doesn't work.

That is because SAP has not released an ECC 7.0
NW2004s is also refered to as 7.0.  It appears that you are confusing this with ECC 5.0 and ECC 6.0
A NW2004s installation can contain an ECC5.0 or ECC 6.0, just like it can contain a CRM 5.0 or SRM, or EP, et cetera
The generated keys probably do not work because you have wrong hostname or instance number entered.

  • Solution manager can not open pdf documents

What is the reason Solution manager (we have still 3.2) can not open pdf documents (under project documentation).
    Thank you in advance

Solution Manager is the SERVER, it can't open PDF documents; most likely your PC can't open them.

  • Easy Doc Management can support chinese in user interface language?

    Hi,SAP Experts.
When I login DMS by Easy Doc Mgmt I have inputted the ZH language, but after login, still don't display chinese menu.
My OS is WinXP Pro,chinese edition.
Anybody can tell me what cause it,how solve it?

    Hi Leo,
As of now i think you wont find such fuctions available in standard DMS, for this you need to add some enhancements/developments which can be done through Abapers.
    Thank You,
    Manoj
    Pl. reward if useful.

  • In Profile Manager, Can I assign users to ONLY a specific Device Group?

In profile Manager (Lion Server 10.7.3) I created DEVICE GROUPS per Lab, and each Lab has a manager. I want to give each manager permissions to see and manage ONLY their devices. Is this possible?

I'm not sure this was ever designed to be user friendly as typically only Admins or those with elevated permissions would see these groups.  There isn't as far as I can see, any way to add this step within a Wokflow too, unless you're able to install
    some third party steps.

  • Regenerating test packages in Solution Manager 4.0 after blueprint changes.

    Hello,
    This is the scenario.
A test plan and test package (1 process = 1 test package) have been created.
The blueprint has changed and a new step has been added to the process (the process that has already been assigned into a test package.
How do you get that new task/step into the test package??
    Current situation:
I've managed to regenerate the test plan with the new task listed under the process. However when I go into change test package the new process is NOT there. Why is that? Can I had a new step to a package or not?
    Regards
    Dan

You must go down to the transaction leveland click and then regenerate it will then be eligible in the package for regeneration.
