Solution Manager Create remote monitoring entry

Hello,
I need some help or clarification please. We just upgraded our Solution Manager to EHP1 spk25 and I'm trying to setup Solman to support central system monitoring. I'm on the last step to enter the moitored ABAP system in CEN through RZ21  Techincal >Configure Central System>Create remote monitoring entry.
I can enter my own System ID but can't enter the RFC destination ?  These default to *_RZ20_Collect and *_RZ20_Analyze.  I want to use the RFC's already in place through Charm since these are already setup and working correctly.  Can someone tell me how to change this or why we have to use the defaults.
Thanks in advance
Stephanie

  • RFC error while adding an remote monitoring entry to CEN

    Hi,
    I am trying to add an remote system to CEN by RZ21 i.e.
    in RZ21 -> Technical Infrastructure -> Configure Central system -> Create Remote Monitoring Entry
    But while testing RFC connections before saving, it giving following erros :
    SC4_RZ20_COLLECT_195119Error when opening an RFC connection
    Error during remote call of SAL_MS_GET_LOCAL_MS_INFO function: Error when opening an RFC connection

    Are these errors of any concern?
    or shall i go ahead and save the entries?
    Please suggest.

    Hi,
    ssue has been fixed after following
    SAP Note 1453112 - CCMS agent and kernel: patches 2010
    1:) Here we first performed kernel upgrade then re register agents as per note.
    2:) While for mentioned error during remote monitoring entry we checked in path
    Tcode-> sm59-> TCP/IP connectiones -> then in RFC destination SAPCCM4X.<SID>.<instance no> and found destination information was not correct so we corrected as
    SAPCCM4X.<monitoring system id>.<instance no> then
    then perform remote monitoring entrory steps via RZ21 and issue got resoulved

  • Solution manager and CCMS monitoring of remote database

    I have Solution Manager 7 SP Basis 6 installed. I have oracle remote databases connected successfully. Under DBCockpit I see the instances I want to monitor. I can see the backup, tablespaces, etc. These remote instances are SAP Portal JAVA only version 7 but under the dbcockpit alerts only shows alert monitor. The database check and check conditions are in white. Is there a way to see these and be able to report on them? The CCMS tree under the local solution manager also shows these connected remote instances but they are also white in color as if inactive. All CCMS agents and saposcol are running perfectly on the remote systems. The stats tables have been built, the synonyms for the solution manager are in place. What am I missing?

    Hi,
    Please download that attachment "scripts_1139623.sar" provided in SAP Note 1139623 - Using transaction RZ20 to monitor remote Oracle databases.
    Upon extraction of scripts_1139623.sar the following files you will get.
    rz20_nonabap.sql
    dbcheckora10_oltp.sql
    dbcheckora.sql
    Then Perform the below mentioned Steps to resolve your issue.
    Step 1: Create tables DBCHECKORA and DBMSGORA:
      sqlplus SAPSR3DB/<pwd>
      SQL> @rz20_nonabap.sql
    Step 2: Fill the table DBCHECKORA:
      sqlplus SAPSR3DB/<pwd>
      SQL> @dbcheckora10_oltp
    Step 3: Create the synonyms (as user ora<sid>):
    brconnect -u / -c -f crsyn -o SAPSR3DB
    sqlplus "/as sysdba"
    CREATE PUBLIC SYNONYM SAP_DBSTATC FOR SAPSR3DB.DBSTATC;
    CREATE PUBLIC SYNONYM SAP_DBCHECKORA FOR SAPSR3DB.DBCHECKORA;
    CREATE PUBLIC SYNONYM SAP_DBMSGORA FOR SAPSR3DB.DBMSGORA;
    Step 4: Grant Privileges for OPS$<SID>ADM User for the above created Tables
    sqlplus "/as sysdba"
    grant all on SAPSR3DB.DBSTATC to OPS$<SID>ADM;
    grant all on SAPSR3DB.DBCHECKORA to OPS$<SID>ADM;
    grant all on SAPSR3DB.DBMSGORA to OPS$<SID>ADM;
    grant all on SAPSR3DB.DBSTAIHORA to OPS$<SID>ADM;
    grant all on SAPSR3DB.DBSTATHORA to OPS$<SID>ADM;
    grant all on SAPSR3DB.DBSTATIORA to OPS$<SID>ADM;
    grant all on SAPSR3DB.DBSTATTORA to OPS$<SID>ADM;
    commit;
    Step 5:
    Now after successful execution of above mentioned Steps , in DBACOCKPIT (system configuration), try to save the Remote DB entry with "Collect Alert Data".  It will be saved without any error.
    If you find any errors, post the error contents as a reply of this thread message.

  • Not able to Create a new Remote Monitoring entry in SolMan 7.0 - RZ21

    Hi expert,
    I am trying to configure Interface Monitoring on Solution Manager system using BPM concept.
    For testing purpose i will be monitoring IDocs from Solution Manager CUA system (which is other client in SolMan landscape) to other Satellite system.
    As per the configuration part there should be System entry in the Monitoring Technical Topology, that is in RZ21 -->Topology --> System Overview.
    For my system its not there, when i press create a new entry in above menu, it gives me new screen where i enter all the details.
    Such as System ID, message server, client, CSMREG user details etc.
    After saving the details it gives message as "Inserted successfully in secure storage" with no error message on error screen area.
    However when i go back in the RZ21 -->Topology --> System Overview my system does not reflect there, even after refresh.
    I am not sure if i am missing anything. please help.
    Thanks.

    Hi Gagan deep,
    Thanks a lot for your inputs.
    I have some confusion here, where can i check whether latest CCMS agent is installed or not?
    Also if its not installed what steps i need to follow to acive the same?
    Thanks again!

  • Solution Manager create an IBase...

    Hi fellows,
    My question is, if in the future I must apply more satellite/backend systems in my SLD (SMSY) in Solution Manager... As you know when we want setup maintenance optimizer generally appears an error which it said that we must have to Generate an IBASE (IB51 & IB52) and so I created that Ibase entry with my all systems landscape... but imagine that I want to apply more systems in tcode SMSY (System Landscape Directory tree) when that happens I must create again on more time an Ibase, this is,  I will have problems in maintenance optimizer if I apply more systems and don´t make the regenerate the IBASE ?
    Best regards,
    Thanks in advance,
    Jmgmad

    Hi Prakhar Saxena,
    Thanks a lot for your quick and usefull answer... you have right!!
    One more question about IBASE and the respective tcodes IB_GEN and IB52, I duplicate the systems in IBase monitor on IB52 I see in that tree of SAP solution Manager Installations I have twice systems, because when I regenerate the Ibase (in IB_GEN) I select the same systems that I have apply in past... so I want to delete the systems that are repeated... How can I do that ?! ...
    Can you explain how I delete systems in that tree on IB52  (with Ext.ID: SOL_MAN_DATA_REP) ??
    Thanks indeed...
    I will give you a max point !

    Hi Everyone,
    the problem we are facing in Solution Manager system log every five minutes appears a new error message:

    First of all the landscape: ECC, BI, CRM, PI and Solman. Each system is DEV, QUA, PRD - except Solution Manager.
    Result of going to see the logs within work directory:

    Some of the systems are being connected successfully and the error messages in SM21 are not related to those systems. But some of the systems like DCR cannot be reached. And this fact causing the error messages.
    I haven't configured Solution Manager because I have joined the project later. I would like to know what job is trying to access the satellite system and for what purpose.
    On solution manager side I have checked all the scheduled background jobs - all of them have been executed successfully.
    There some of them are scheduled but it is hard understand what is purpose of the job.
    I have checked and corrected system landscape through SMSY and have maintained all the RFCs. They all OK now.
    What else could force to make a connection to satellite system? And where is the place where it is hardcoded local(satellite) db2 connection entry?
    Like I said before, some of the systems are being connected but some not. The one which has not been connected - there was recently changed SAP master password. I believe this is the key to resolve the problem. But the system itself operating 100% correctly.
    Perhaps it could be CCMS that makes some extra connections to collect the data from the monitored systems. But I have checked all the RFC's in SM59 and they were OK.
    Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Kind regards,
    Artjom.

    Kaustubh Krishna,
    thank you for respond.
    It was dbacockpit. The connection was maintained with old db2sid password. And it was causing problematic log entries.
    Problem was solved.

  • Solution Manager Setup System Monitoring DB Administrating Alerts

    Greetings experts
    Can someone please explain how I can get "DB Administrating Alerts" to display in Solution Manager.

    Peter Babbington

    HI
    1.Do i need to configure the CCMS_OnAlert_Email, for every alert that you have, in the satellite system?
    Best thing I would say is to copy method ( RZ21 --> Method --> Method definition )CCMS_OnAlert_Email to Z_CCMS_OnAlert_Email in Solman and assign this auto reaction to  MTE class of satellite systems.
    2. How do i configure this out of solution manager, and bypassing the satellite system?
    You have to install/configure sapccm4x( for monitoring abap ) on satellite systems by giving details about Solution manager. Then the alert will be sent to Solution manager from satellite system and the configured auto reaction will send mails .

  • Solution Manager 7.1 - Monitor scripts which runs as cron job at OS level ?

    Hi All,
    We have Solution Manager 7.1 in our landscape and we have configured RCA, Monitoring.. Is it possible to Monitor the scripts running as Cron Job at the OS level?
    If in case, the script stops due to an issue, we need to get the alert in Solution Manager.
    Also can you please let us know whether it is possible to monitor jobs scheduled through external job scheduling tool.
    Thanks & Regards,

    Hi,
    How to Schedule the background Job at the OS level:
    Invoke a sapevent using a OS script and then have a SAP background job set to run on a sapevent. I say this assuming Unix and a job in crontab. I would guess the same thing could be done on a Windows system.

  • Solution Manager - Create Project Directory structure

    We're planning to use Solution managare for BW upgrade project and would like to maintain all the documentation (like status report, project presentation, Problem log) in SOLMAN. We would like to have directories and sub-directories so that user can select the directory to upload the document.
    Could some one help me on how to create directory structure at project level? I'm familiar with business scenario option. Is it only option to load document? Can I've directory structure at project level instead of business scenario level.
    Thanks,
    Milind

    Hi Milind,
    You can create one more project for uploading and storing FS and TS.
    If you don't want to use the buss scenario option.
    For this new project select the components and from solar01 just create the folder manually by whatever name you want .say for e.g SD-pack1 ,pack2 etc.
    Upload the files relevant to each module or so.
    Please reward points if it helps.

  • Remote system monitoring entry- data not relayed to Central system

    Hello Folks,
                        I am trying to establish a central monitoring system for our client. I am trying to test it in the DEV environment first.
    The central system is a Solution manager system (Dual stack- ABAPJAVA). I am trying to bring in monitoring data from the ECC development environment (ABAPJAVA).
    First of, i created to RFC connections in Solution manager system, one for data collection and the other for analysis. I have maintained the host address of the ECC system as target.
    Then i have created a remote system entry in Transaction RZ21--> technical infrastructure entered the 2 RFC names and have executed the function.
    At this point i am only trying to bring in ABAP stack monitoring data form the ECC system so i have not generated the CSNCONF file.
    Now when i look in Solution manager RZ20-->CCMS monitoring templates, i can't see any data for the the ECC system.
    I guess i am doing something wrong. Am i looking in the wrong monitor set?
    As additional information: Solution manager (SMD) and ECC (ECD) use different transport domains / transport groups. I dont know if this makes a difference.
    Can some one please help.
    Regards,
    Prashant

    Hi Prashant,
    if I understand correctly your system shows only MTEs from R/3 Stack, not from the OS side, pls check your SAPOSCOL. Are the data in OS06 in your remote system correct and do you see the current data, refredhed all 10 seconds?
    To check your environment, pls do the following:
    in th efirst step check in RZ21 > in the Topology part the System Overview for your system connection to your back end system. Are the Read Destination Data RFC and the Destination Analysis RFC correct and works the authority chek fine?
    In the second step pls check in RZ21 > in the Agents for Remotey SAP Systems part; are there registered your remote ccms agents correctly and works the connection test.
    Stop the agents and in your RZ20 monitor pls enter STAT in your command field. Are there displayed for your MTE nodes the read RFC destinations?
    Start the agents and and in your RZ20 monitor pls enter STAT in your command field. Are there displayed for your MTE nodes the CCMS Agent RFC destinations?
    To rebuild the Monitor in the CEN system you could try to reset the node of your remote system in the warm up status > go in the remote system to RZ1 > go to local segments  > change to edit > select your segments > reset segment in "WARMUP" status.
    In the CEN system you coul try to go to the edit mode for the Agents for Remot SAP Systems > select your remote system and push the button Reinitialize Agents
    In the back end system you can try to delete all MTEs in RZ21 > menu Technical Infrastructure > Reorgenize Segment Table > select the options with "ALL" in the CEN and the remote system to reorgenize all data.
    Could you pls post for the missing MTEs a screenshot on the one side from the CEN system and on the other side from the remote system...
    and last but not least you could try the following for missing OS MTEs
    delete  ALALERTS, ALMTTREE and ALPERFHI in /usr/sap/ccms/<SID>_<SNR> and check in the agents folder all trace and log files for errors.
