Solution Manager E-2-E Diagnostics and BCM 6.0

Hi Everyone,
I'm in the process of implementing Solution Manager and wish to add a SAP BCM 6.0 system as one of the managed systems.
I've installed a few other Solman systems so have some experience are however it has almost always been with Standard SAP ABAP/Java systems.
From what I can see it in SAP Noteu201D https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1010428u201D  it says e2e should be possible with SP20, unless I'm misinterpreting the note.
Has anybody implemented this and got it working?
We installed the Diagnostic Agent and the standalone Wily Agent. Our issue is seeing its registration in the SLD and getting it to replicate into SMSY.
Any ideas or pointer would be greatly appreciated.
Regards
Michael

  • Solution Manager 4.0 and SLD automatic population

Our Solution Manager 4.0 installation was failing repeatedly while importing the CIM objects into the SLD. So here is what we did:
1.During installation we pointed the Solution Manager data supplier to the production SLD. The production SLD is on 640 wheras this is on 700.
2.After installation we created the Solution Manager (Admin) SLD by creating all necessary roles, groups, users and started importing the CIM and the delta.
3.We setup the data supplier of the production SLD to populate the  Solution Manager (Admin) SLD. It looks like it is not getting populated and we got the following error in the production SLD:

1.I want to setup a way where the Solution Manager (Admin) SLD is populated from the production SLD every so often thru SMSY_SETUP -> Expert Settings -> Write back into SLD.
2.I want to use this Solution Manager (SLD) as the Admin SLD for NWA.
3.How do I know that the Object Manager of is up/down in the Solution Manager(SLD) and maybe restart it, while I can see that the SLD server is up.
3.I Manually setup some of the technical systems in the Solution Manager SLD by logging onto it http://host:port/sld, but I cannot see those in System Landscape in Solution Manager.
Can somebody please tell me how I can proceed from here.
A quick response would be appreciated with points.

  • Solution Manager and external Central Monitoring system

We have a Solution Manager system SOL and a Central Monitoring system
CEN.  The monitored system SDS is configured to report CCMS data to CEN
and I wanted SOL to be able to access this data.  After configuring SDS
to CEN, CEN that the following entry in RZ21:
    SDS#SDS_RZ20_COLLECT#SDS_RZ20_ANALYZE
After performing the wizard in SOL, SOL now has the following entries
    in RZ21:
    SDS2#SM_SDS2CLNT200_READ#SM_SDS2CLNT200_TRUSTED
This would indicate to me that SOL is reading the CCMS information
directly from the monitored system, rather than via CEN.
In the 'Setup System Monitoring' of Solution Manager the Central
Monitoring System and CEN destination are SOL and NONE respectively.
Is this configuration correct, and if not how do I correctly configure
    it?
Is the monitored system now only reporting data to SOL, or is it
reporting to both CEN and SOL?

  • Difference between Solution Manager and SAP CTS

Edited by: Bob Thiouwz on Apr 3, 2008 12:47 PM

    Hi,
search on SDN u will get more helpful answers.
Solution manager is a tool which is used for maintaing a project related documents.
    refer the below link:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/ce89c290-0201-0010-5985-dd64605111fd
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/ce0b74e3-0601-0010-29a0-f2a6af98ef06
    /people/community.user/blog/2006/12/07/organize-and-perform-testing-using-solution-manager
CTS is the change and transport system used to transport Xi objects.
refer the bleow link for more detail:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/80bbbd55-5004-2a10-f181-8bb096923cb6
The XI use case for CTS+ introduces a new transport handling mechanism that offers tighter integration for the transport of ABAP, Java, and Integration Builder objects (Integration Repository and Integration Directory) using the Change and Transport System (BC-CTS) functionality.
As your XI system requires both the ABAP and the Java stack of the SAP NetWeaver Application Server, the following transport tools are available after installation:
    The ABAP transport environment (BC-CTS)
The file export and import mechanisms or CMS integration to transport Repository or Directory objects in your transport landscape
In addition, you might also have to transport Java development objects by using the SAP NetWeaver Development Infrastructure itself.
The enhancements to CTS in combination with the SAP Solution Manager Change Request Management (ChaRM) address the following issues:
Synchronized transports for mixed systems (ABAP & Java)
A unified application for mixed system landscapes
Tracking of non-ABAP transports including Change Request Management
For your XI landscapes there will be one central transport environment with CTS+ where you can manage all XI-relevant transport objects from a single entry point.

  • EP 7 systems in Solution Manager 7 for EWA activation

    Dear Expert,
    Greetings from Partha.
I need to include our EP 7 systems in Solution Manager 7 for EWA activation. Current lanscape scenario
    Solution Manger     7.00   Installed
    EP                          7.00   Installed
No central SLD configured and all the system have local SLD.
    1. As per the installtion guide & SAP notes we need to install
a> SM Diagnostics Agent & Wilo Introscope in Solution Manager (manging system).
b> Diagnostics Agent in every manged system(s).
For managing system we can download Diagnostics Agent installation DVDs from SAP Service Marketplace
at: http://service.sap.com/swdc --> Download --> SAP Support Packages --> Entry by Application Group
--> SAP Technology Components --> SAP SOLUTION MANAGER --> SAP SOLUTION MANAGER 7.0
--> Entry by Component --> Agents for Managed systems --> DIAGNOSTICS AGENT 7.11
    --> <choose operating system of managed>
Our Solution Manager 7 is already installed and @SPS 17. My question is
    1. Can we use the same file for SMD installtion in Solution Manger or we need to download it from some other area ?
If it is different then kindly let me know what are the DVDs to be downloaded and from where?
    2. In our Managed System SMD installtion we have decided for
--> Installation Strategy as Direct Solution Manager Registration
But what strategy we should take for SMD installation on Sol Man 7 that is
Local SLD (wrt Sol Man) Registration or Direct Solution Manager Registration
    3. What is the need for the SAP Host Agent Installattion ? Is it mandatory ?
    Help will be appreciated.

Check the pdf attached in note 1234387 - Inst. 7.1 EhP1 - Diagnostics Agent installation
If you have SP17, you must follow note 1357812 and install Diagnostics Agent 7.01 SR1

It doesn't matter what strategy you'll decide. You could decide Direct Solution Manager registration
    3. What is the need for the SAP Host Agent Installattion ? Is it mandatory ?
As you have solution Manager SP17, you can't install Saphostagent 7.11 and for this reason you can't use SAphostagent.
    Agent 7.01 => No Saphostagent
Agent 7.11 => Must install saphostagent
Agent 7.20 => Already have SAPhostagent installed

  • How to downloadin Business Process Repository in Solution Manager?

    Hello,
Does anybody know how to download whole Business Process Repository from solution manager?
I know how to download BPR, that are related to project, to excel file, but I want to download all the scenarios, processes are inbuilt to the Solution Manager business blueprint.
    Can anybody help me?
    Thanks,
    Mahantesh

    Hello Mahantesh,
I suppose that your idea behind this question is that you would like to browse the contents of the BPR. For this specific pupose, SAP will deliver a new web dynpro application with SAP Solution Manager 4.0 SP 12 and the respective stack coming out mid June 2007 which allows you to browse all BPR contents in your SAP Solution Manager system. So you no longer have to create a seperate project and select the contents via F4 value help in SOLAR01 in order to access the contents.
For further updates, please check the news mid June:
    <a href="http://service.sap.com/solutionmanager">http://service.sap.com/solutionmanager</a>
Media Library -> Technical Papers. It will probably be called: "4.0 Support Package Stack <latest stack> [probably stack 12]"
However, please note that an individual download of the entire or partial BPR structures into MS Excel will not be possible.
    Best regards,
    Doreen Baseler
