Solution Manager EHP 1

Hello,
has anybody started looking into EHP1 for Solution Manager on iSeries?
I have started downloading the packages/DVDs, but I am wondering if I need the 7.01 Kernel. It seems that it is provided for all platforms except iSeries. And according to the OSS note for EHP1 I should use R3trans 7.01.
Thanks,
Ingrid

Hello Paul,
currently, following strategies for new Enhancement Package installations are supported for SAP on IBM i:
EhP1 for SAP NetWeaver 7.0
Start with 7.00 kernel in the SAP system, use of SAP EHP Installer 7.00
EhP4 for SAP ERP 6.0
Start with 7.00 kernel in the SAP system, use of SAP EHP Installer 7.00
EhP1 for SAP Solution Manager 7.0
Start with 7.01 kernel in the SAP system (as preparation step, no productive use), use of SAINT/JSPM
Elder Enhancement Packages for SAP ERP 6.0 (EhP1-EhP3) will still be applied with SAINT and the 7.00 kernel has to be kept.
Productive use of 7.01 kernels in 7.00 based SAP systems (from point of view of application components like SAP_BASIS) is not supported by SAP at all since this kernel has not been certified as downward compatible kernel (DCK). And of course, once an EHP has been installed you may not run this SAP system with a 7.00 kernel anymore.
At the moment, there is some delay providing necessary 7.00 patches to enable installation of EhP1 for Solution Manager 7.0. This is a known issue and we are working hard on it. It is planned to provide a suitable solution end of January 2009. With release of the patches please have a look at SAP note 1284805 and follow its instuctions carefully.

  • Solution Manager EHP 1 SP22 - DBA Cockpit Configuration Wizard

    Hi,
When trying to "Configure DBA Cockpit" in Managed System Configuration ,I got the below error .
We are on Oracle 10.2.0.4.0 and Solution Manager SP22.
Database history :Not supported for this DB platform
Extractors activation :The DB performance warehouse is not available, thus the DB extractors were not activated
Please let me know if i need to perform any more additional steps.
    Thanks in advance.....
    Srini

"Database Performance Warehouse was not set up"
"Not supported for this DB platform"
For Oracle databases there is no support for Database Performance Warehouse in EHP1. With EHP2 the Oracle platform will be supported as well with some reports in the Solution Manager UI.
Basically the database performance warehouse is a project to collect and extract performance data to the SAP Solution Manager BI system. Once the data was loaded in to this BI you can use DBA Cockpit for detailed analysis. In EHP2 of SAP Solution Manager you will be able to also use the SAP Solution Manager UIs to analyze the database performance and workload.
If you are more interested in this feature you are very welcome to have a look at some articles available in SDN:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/db6
For now you have full support for DB2 for LUW and MS SQL Server platforms and a more limited set of reports for SAP MaxDB and DB2/z.
I hope this clarifies your question.

  • EWA on Non-ABAP System with Solution Manager EHP 1

    Hi Experts,
We have recently updated our solution manager from SP Stack 16 to EHP1 (sp 18). we are now planning to set up EWA for non-abap components (EP 7.0). however, the only SAP note that i have been able to find is "976054 - Availability of EWA for Non ABAP components" but this is only limited up to SP 17. I have not been able to find any guides relating to EWA thru Solution Manager EHP1.
I would greatly appreciate if anyone can refer any documents or SAP notes that would enable setting up EWA for non-abap components thru Solution Manager EHP1.
We have also gone through the note 1332428, but we have'nt found it useful. We are still struggling to generate EWA report on Non-ABAP system.
Looking forward to your kind help.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Sarthak Syal

    Hi Sarthak,
    Good!!
    Please do  the following:
    1) include the system in the Solution and scheduled the EWA session.Logical component should refer to the Non-ABAP System with no ABAP instance as relevant under the SID definition in SMSY-systems.
    2) Is the Non -ABAP ( assuming its java) has the Software component defined and is mentioned as relevant under the SID with the component name and type.
    3) Having said that SMD - Root cause Analysis functionality is configured-> check whether you are getting the Details for the Non-ABAP systems in the analysis Tabs of Root Cause Analysis.
This should be good to go. Wait for the session to get completed.
    Thanks,

  • How to revert a report run in Solution Manager?

    Hello All:
As per  Note 1119150 - Solution Manager: EHP 3 product data missing, I ran this report RS_SMSY_PPMS_XML_UP_DOWNLOAD,
My bad, this was for Solution Manager 4, I ran this in Solution Manager 7.
Product Version got changed once I ran this report.
Is there any way to revert the changes done by this report?
    Please let me know.
Thanks a lot for your time guys!!
    Cheers,
    -Sai

    Hello Sai,
SAP Solution Manager release 4.0 and release 7.0 are one in the same.
There is a note that will confirm this assertion.
1122966   Maintenance Optimizer: Notes for Enhancement Packages
Indeed it is referenced in the footer of SAP Note 1119150
Note 1122966 States: SAP Solution Manager 4.0 is officially renamed on May 1st, 2008 and
    becomes SAP Solution Manager 7.0.
Note 1119150 was released in 2007, so this was before the name change.
Since this note applies to the release and not to a a particular SP level, it is completely valid for Solution Manager 7.0 as 4.0/7.0 are interchangeble terms.
However the reason to run the report attached to the Note is because product version 'SAP ENH PACK 3 for SAP ERP 6.0' is missing. Is this what the product changed to, because if it did, then it is correct. What did the product version change to because you may find that you can now select the correct product, if it was missing before...which would be the only reason to have run the report.
If the product version was missing, its likely a matter of just going back in and changing the product to the newly downloaded one that was missing. If it wasn't missing, then the report should not have been run, as the reason for applying the note instructions did not apply, and you may need to involve SAP support to assist in a resolution.
My thoughts are since the note does apply to SAP Solution Manager 7.0, so does the attached report, and perhaps this has shuffled the product list, without moving the pointer correspondingly, so it is now pointing to the worng product. But I suspect now the correct product is in the drop down selection list.  This is just a thought as to why the product changed.
    Hope it helps to resolve.
    Regards,
    Paul

  • Install both SAP ECC 6.0 EHP 4 and Solution Manager in C drive

    Hi, SDN fellows.
I just want to confirm this.
I am trying to install SAP ECC 6.0 EHP 4 and Solution Manager in C drive. Are these OK, since they both will be installed under the C:\usr folder?
What precaution we need to install these two SAP components in the same drive (C)?
I am installing both components in MS Window Server 2008 R2 SP1 with MS SQL Server 2005 SP3.
    Thanks,
    KC

    Hi, Nick.
Sorry, I missed the "IDES". I am installing SAP ECC6.0 EHP4 IDES system for training purpose within the organization.
I am referring to the Installation Guide - SAP ERP 6.0 EHP Ready ABAP on Window MS SQL Server (Based on NW 7.0 incl EHP 1). All downloaded installation files are from: EHP4 for SAP ERP 6.0/NW7.01 --> IDES --> --> Widnows Server --> MS SQL Server.
The OS is installed in C drive.
I have allocated 250GB in C drive and 200GB in D drive from SAN.
For IDES system (I know it is similar to the standard ECC), is it also recommended to install in D drive (separate from the OS)?
In this case, should I install both Solution Manger and IDES in D drive?
Or what is the best combination where I should install these two systems?
    Thanks,
    KC

  • Solution Manager Installation Error "SAP SOLUTION MANAGER 7.0 EHP 1"

I am new to SAP and currently trying to install SOLMAN 7.0 EHP 1 on Windows Server 2008 R2. I have read the documentation also. For JDK I have used "j2sdkfb-1_4_2_24-rev-b06-windows-amd64.exe" which looks to be working fine.
The installation process runs fine until it hits "Start Instance" the message on the bottom says "Starting instance xxx/DVEBMGSOO" (where xxx is my sid) and then its times out after 10 minute. After timing out I get the following error on the window.
An error occurred while processing option SAP Solution Manager 7.0 EhP1 > SAP Systems > Oracle > Central System > Central System( Last error reported by the step: ABAP processes of instance ORC/DVEBMGS00 ABAP: UNKNOWN did not start after 10:00 minutes. Giving up.). You can now:
Choose Retry to repeat the current step.
Choose Log Files to get more information about the error.
Stop the option and continue with it later.
Log files are written to C:\Program Files/sapinst_instdir/SOLMAN/SYSTEM/ORA/CENTRAL/AS.
Though the installation steps are not fully completed but I do see SAP management Console and when I open it I see two process running "msg_server.exe" & "igswd.exe" The process dispwork.EXE starts in the beginning and then stops and stays stopped. I tried restarting all the process again but only tow of them starts and the process "dispwork.EXE" starts but then stops again. I also did a NEW installation considering a file could have been corrupted or something else but the installation process stops and the same place. I am sure ppl have installed SOLMAN on windows 2008 R2 and this error seems common to me. Please assist. Any tips would be nice.

  • How to install Solution Manager 7.0 ehp 1 on Laptop

    Dear Expert !
I have a laptop Sony Vio only support 32 bit, but I need install Solution Manager 7.0 EhP 1 on this laptop to test. So you can show me how to do that . I hope, you show me as soon as possible.
    Thanks and Best Regards,
    Tru Hang

    Tru Hang,
Even when 32 bit Solution Manager was supported, it is very doubtful your laptop would have the required memory or diskspace to install and run the system. You can see the system requirements in the SAP installation guides.
    Hope this information was helpful.

  • Ticket SAP Solution Manager 7.0 to SAP EHP 1 for SAP Solution Manager 7.0

    Hi,
I want to migrate all tickets from SAP Solution Manager 7.0 to SAP EHP 1 for SAP Solution Manager 7.0 , please let me know the procedure how to migrate it.
    DB Detail
    SAP Solution Manager 7.0 - MSSQL( 9.00.4035)
SAP EHP 1 for SAP Solution Manager 7.0 - MSSQL(10.00.2531)
    Thanks,
    Kaleel

    Dear Mohamed,
I was reading the post and the replies and while I think your question has been answered, I just want to make sure what you are trying to achieve. Is it a migration, where you have one Solution Manager system on SAP Solution Manager 7.0 and another
SAP Solution Manager EHP1 system and you were looking to migrate the Service Desk messages?
If you are "Upgrading" one system from Solution Manager 7.0 to  EHP1 then all the messages are preserved.
If you are "Migrating" to a physically different system, then transfer of Service Desk Messages is not supported.
Please see the document [SAP Solution Manger-  Conent Transfer|https://websmp204.sap-ag.de/~form/sapnet?_FRAME=CONTAINER&_OBJECT=011000358700000608232009E]
Also Service Desk is a completely independent CRM Service, so the messages could always be archived, as has been suggested.
No depending on your scenario, is the EHP1 system brand new or is it already productive? If it was brand new, you might be able to do a homogenous system copy, and then upgrade the new system to EHP1. But if it is already productive, this would not be an option.
    Hope this helps to clarify.

    Paul

  • SAP SOLUTION MANAGER 7.0 EHP 1  - need to update the stack?

I'm trying to understand the enhancement pack concept and what I need to do to update our solution manager.
    currently we are on:
    SAP SOLUTION MANAGER 7.0 EHP 1 - Stack 21
    ST-ICO 150_700: patch 0022
    CPRXRPM 400: patch 0015
    CRMUIF 500: patch 0003
    PI_BASIS Support Package 04 for 7.01
    BI_CONT 704: Support Package 04
ABA Support Package 04 for 7.01
Basis Support Package 04 for 7.01
    ST 400: Patch 0021, CRT for SAPKU50015
    ST-SER 701_2008_2: patch 0005
    ST-PI 2008_1_700: SP 0001
    SAP_AP 700: Support Package 0016
Support Package 15 for SAP CRM 5.0
BW Support Package 04 for 7.01
I understand the current stack is 24.  Is this also EHP 1 ?
I believe I need to update to stack 24 in order to stay current.  Is that correct?
In addition, EarlyWatch indicates that the ST-A/PI is missing.  Actually it exists but is not the current package.  I believe by updating the stack, the ST-A/PI will also be updated.  Is this correct?
Should I update the stack to 24?  or just update the ST-A/PI?
    Thanks

    Yes, check SAP note 1244225.

    Yes

Yes. Current support package for ST-A/PI is ST-A/PI 01M_CRM570.
    > Should I update the stack to 24?  or just update the ST-A/PI?
SAP always suggest to be on current support package. But I always prefer to upgrade to n-1 strategy.

  • Upgrading to EHP Initial Shipment in Solution Manager

    Hi,

I donwloaded the BASIs 701 file, ABAP701 etc

BBPCRM, Component BBPCRM,* must not be installed*
I could not find anything with name BBPCRM 5 in service market place

    Hi,
    The issue you describe can
    usually be attributed to a missing ACP. SAP_BASIS 701 SP02 SAPKB70102
should bring an ACP package to the EPS inbox. This ACP package should
solve the issue. Please check whether CSR0120031469_0032562.PAT
is in your EPS inbox. If it is not, please download this SP and
disassemble it in order to get CSR0120031469_0032562.PAT into
your EPS inbox. Please also check note 1169247 under "6. Performing the
upgrade" whether all necessary packages are part of the queue if
SAPKB70102 has indeed been missing up to now.
Please try adding till at least SP03 of all Netweaver components in the queue.

I HIGHLY recommend not using a 32bit operating system for Solution Manager, you will run into lots of problems and issues concerning memory usage and limitations of the 32bit platform.> 08.06.11 10:21:42 com.sap.inst.jload.Jload logStackTrace

It seems that the maximum memory on 32bit is reached already. Decrase the CACHESIZE of the database, restart the database and press "retry" in sapinst.
This will not be the only problem you will get, use a 64bit server and at least 8 GB memory for Solution Manager.

  • Upgrade to SAP Solution Manager 3.2 to 7.0 EHP

    Dear Experts
At present I am using SAP Solution manager 3.2. Now I am planing to update SAP Solution Manager 7.0.
I am some confutation in SAP Solution Manager 7.0 and SAP Solution Manager 7.0 EHP1,
what i do please help me.
    Regards
    Sanjay C.

EHP1 is basically a product enhancement of 700 - i.e offers new functionality
Usually to get to Enhancement packages you need to be operating NW2004S stack based product - in this case 4.0 (now called Solution Manager 7.0)
I think this proposal will require first an upgrade from 3.2 to 4.0
then after applying Enhancement Package EHP1 and following pre-reqs for both steps
Also bearing in mind that Solution Manager is RFC dependant any change in SID, Hostname or client will require
all RFC connections will need to be adapted
There may also be special considerations depending on source configuration or the active Solution Manager scenarios and content
I would take a look at following PDF for reference - it may help in the initial 3.2-->4.0 upgrade
