Could you please point me to sap notes or locations in Market place
where I can find extensive documentation exclusively on Early
Watch,Service Level reporting and more importantly Business Process
Reporting. We would like to configure business process for our CRM
system where we have lot of performance issues. Can you please give me
as much information as possible

1. As per the installtion guide & SAP notes we need to install
a> SM Diagnostics Agent & Wilo Introscope in Solution Manager (manging system).
b> Diagnostics Agent in every manged system(s).
For managing system we can download Diagnostics Agent installation DVDs from SAP Service Marketplace
at: http://service.sap.com/swdc --> Download --> SAP Support Packages --> Entry by Application Group
--> SAP Technology Components --> SAP SOLUTION MANAGER --> SAP SOLUTION MANAGER 7.0
--> Entry by Component --> Agents for Managed systems --> DIAGNOSTICS AGENT 7.11
--> <choose operating system of managed>
Our Solution Manager 7 is already installed and @SPS 17. My question is
1. Can we use the same file for SMD installtion in Solution Manger or we need to download it from some other area ?
If it is different then kindly let me know what are the DVDs to be downloaded and from where?
2. In our Managed System SMD installtion we have decided for
--> Installation Strategy as Direct Solution Manager Registration
But what strategy we should take for SMD installation on Sol Man 7 that is
Local SLD (wrt Sol Man) Registration or Direct Solution Manager Registration
3. What is the need for the SAP Host Agent Installattion ? Is it mandatory ?

If you have SP17, you must follow note 1357812 and install Diagnostics Agent 7.01 SR1

It doesn't matter what strategy you'll decide. You could decide Direct Solution Manager registration
3. What is the need for the SAP Host Agent Installattion ? Is it mandatory ?
As you have solution Manager SP17, you can't install Saphostagent 7.11 and for this reason you can't use SAphostagent.
Agent 7.01 => No Saphostagent
Agent 7.11 => Must install saphostagent
Agent 7.20 => Already have SAPhostagent installed

Solution Manager Key for Java AS

I'm new to SAP Netweaver so maybe this question has been answered before.
I need to install SAP Netweaver AS Java for development/QA purposes. I understand that I need also Solution manager key for installation so I installed another Solution Manager System.
When I enter to Solution Manager http://<server>:50000 I get "System Landscape Directory is not accessible. Only local system can be administered". What does it mean? I remember I chose to create local SLD.
I saw also in couple of threads the following:
Just go to transaction SMSY transaction of solman and locate the system for which you need to generate Solman Key and just right clilck on that system...You will find the option of Generating Solution Manager Key....
I don't have such an option when I enter to Solution Manager.
Any suggestions?

SAP Solution Manager Adapter for SAP Quality Center by HP (ST-QCA)

Hello Folks,
I am configuring Solution Manager, and the current activity asks to download to add-ons that I can't find in the Marketplace - they are required to activate Solution Manager Enhancements:
SAP Solution Manager Adapter for SAP Quality Center by HP (software component: ST-QCA)
SAP Support Enablement package (software component: ST-SEP)
Does anyone know where to get those components?

I have one very quick doubt and would be really glad if you can help clarify.
As per documentation from SAP and also IMG screens etc. it seems like 'a project' in SolMan will hand-shake with 'a project' in QC.
Can I therefore assume that if there is only one instance of SolMan (productive) and one QC server alone (again, productive), any number of trials I carry out between SolMan project and QC project will not spill over into other projects in these two systems and thus have no impact whatsoever at server level.
The reason for my asking this - in my project, Testing has started using QC in a standalone mode already. We have just one server. If I have to carry out any tests/ demo between SolMan and QC, it shouldn't impact other 'standalone' projects being done in QC.

Solution Manager prepared for the Remote Service Delivery?

In preparation of GoingLive Session, we received a mail with some questions. Among them the following:
Is your Solution Manager prepared for the Remote Service Delivery? Yes/No
Is the solution transferred to SAP?: Yes/No
What does the first question mean? what should be done to prepare the Solman for session delivery?

Services in the SAP Solution Manager are services which help you to monitor and optimize the performance and availibility of your system landscapes and minimize your system operation risks.
You can have the support services performed by SAP or perform them yourself:
●     Remote Services
SAP experts deliver this service type via a remote connection (SAP Safeguarding Services, e.g. SAP GoingLive Check).
For checking whether solution manager is prepared for remote service delivery u need to check the following.
Prerequisites
You have:
●     created a solution.
●     set-up a connection to the SAP Service Marketplace (Explorer).
Procedure
       1.      Choose the transaction SOLUTION_MANAGER.
       2.      Choose Delivery of SAP Services ® Service Plan, in Operations.
       3.      Choose Order Service from SAP.
You go to the Service Catalog.
       4.      Choose the link to the service.
The system goes to the catalog entry of the service, in the SAP Service Marketplace.
       5.      Follow the procedure described in the SAP Service Marketplace.

Solution transfered to SAP means that the u have done the configuration, testing and validation of the SAP system components and then transfered this to the satellite systems connected to Solman. Please note that solman is the central point of access for supporting implementation activities and the satellite systems are SAP systems comnected to solman in the landscape.

Solution Manager Adapter for HP QC (12)

Hi,
As you know, HP has recently launched the version 12 of HP QC.
We plan to use Solution Manager (7.1) in combination with HP QC (12).
The only version of Solution Manager Adapter for HP QC I can find on SAP Market place is ST-QCA 100.
Do you know if there is a newer version of Solution Manager Adapter for HP QC (12) or is it independent of QC version?

Hi Priya,
It is independent of QC Version. I recently integrated ALM 11.52 with Solution Manager SP10 using ST QCA 100 and it worked ust fine. Just make sure with SAP that they support the ALM 12 officially, there might be some changes in ALM 12 which *might* give some problems. SAP as of now did not list ALM 12 in their compatibility matrix;
I hope they are using the same Enterprise Integration adapter in ALM 12 that they used in 11.52. If so it should work. Give it a try !

Exam Guide for SABE201V3.0 and SABE301V3.0

Hi, Can anyone help me finding out the Exam guide for SABE210V3.0 and SABE301V3.0 exam. I was going to register for XI R2 certification in Pearsonvue and while selecting exam I came to know about this exam. Instead of 3 BOXI R2 and one Update exam I think we can give just 2 XI 3.0 exams.
I tried to find the Exam guide to know what all is covered in which exam i.e. level 1 or level 2 but could not find it. SAP site has given link for XI 3.0 exam guide which goes to PearsonVue site but end up displayng "Requested page is missing"
Can anyone help? I plan to give exam soon.
Just FYI: If you go to pearson site and look for exam then it does not show 3.0 exam. You have to login to select exam then only you will see xi 3.0.

Exam for BOXI 3.0 is yet not complete. Third level question is yet not available. After my enquiry with BO that paper is removed from PearsonVue website.

I'm not sure what you mean with "I need a list" but the installation guide is available at the usual places:

--> SAP Components
--> SAP Solution Manager
--> Release 7.0
Check the "Master Guide SAP Solution Manager 7.0" for an overview, which CDs/DVDs you need.
The installation guide itself is also available on that site.
SolMan 7.0 SR3 is not available on 32bit platforms.

(1) Buy the Adapter software from SAP
(2) Download Set Up documents provided by SAP:

(3) Identify & Download SAP Notes relevant for this; a few I could come across are:

Note 903274 - Changes to Solution Manager IMG 7.0 after SP01
Note 834534 - SAP Solution Manager roles in Release 7.0
(4) Confirm if the QC version you have and the SAP SolMan version are compatible
SAP Solution Manager 4.0 Service Pack 12 with note ID 1065377 or later
HP Quality Center 9.2 Patch 7 or later
if the Patch is any less in QC, it's available on installation CD anywa that comes along with Adapter, I learn. So, no worries.
(5) Download HP Enterprise Integration module 2.0 Patch 1 for SAP applications by following [this |http://update.external.hp.com/qualitycenter/qc90/sap/enterprise_integration/index.html]link
(6) Obtain your existing QC license from HP, to activate its usage for this Adapter functionality too. For this, send existing SAP Quality Center by HP license file and ask for the addition HP Enterprise Integration for SAP. The license file will then be returned to you with the flag turned on. If your existing QC license was bought not from HP directly but via SAP, you can contact your Account Manager in SAP and enquire how to get this done. I am not sure myself.
