Solution manager implementation tool certification(SMI310)

hi all,
How's the question pattern for Solution manager implementation tool certification(SMI310)
       - partial marking(old pettern) or SAP will mention the option of correct answers(new pattern)?
regards
jaichan

Hi,
From my basis certification exam experience,  i learned that anyone shouldnt be thinking about examination assessment. But rather one should be concentrating on the objectives of each lesson. If you dont do handson part of each chapter exercise,  then you are in danger!
You can test yourself, by checking whether you can explain each lesson objectives/goals in detailed or not.
One more trick to get prepared well yourself well is to bringout opposite version of the sample questions after each chapter.
This will help you building up confidence on the subject matter.
I wish you will definitely qualify the certification.
Cheers,
Srikar

  • Solution manager diagnostic tools

I was sure that I read somewhere that there was a diadnostic tool for the web dispatcher and portal,
I am really looking to get diagnostics on load balancing.
Could this be the tool "Solution manager diagnostic tools"
If yes, where can I get it?
    Thanks
    Jeremy Baker

Please refer note 826671. URL, https://service.sap.com/diagnostics gives you all the information about it.
SMD is used for monitoring the NetWeaver landscape (Java). It is based on WAS 6.40 (think from SP11, 12 it can support). I guess the next version of SM (now 3.2) will be probably housing SMD by default (next version of SM should be based on WAS 6.40).

  • New to Solution Manager Implementation

    Hi Experts:
We have implemented SAP ECC 6.0 in our company, our Organization decided to implement SolMan SP15. I will be a part of the team to implement SolMan. Just give a background of my experience, I am a MM Consultant.
I need some direction from the Experts, first from where to start. Any relevant links to the right documents will be very helpful.
Secondly for a SolMan consultant what should be the prerequisite from the previous experience point out view. It is required that the candidate to have SAP Basis knowledge.
Any helpful guidelines and links to the material will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks
    James

    Hi Bill
For you it is better to go to Solution manager functional role...or Solution consultant
which is actually involved in implementation point of view.
For you it is not required to learn basis........for e.g u r gng to do a ECC implementation ....wht is req from u will be
Basis will set up landscape RFC logical component etc
And you will create a project in solmaan do the blueprint in Solar01 etc.......for satellite ECC system
and Even in the operation like Service Desk /CHARMS etc....can BASIS go and understand client processes ....and implement it in solman service desk.
I dont think so....basis install solman and activate bc sets and do some basic configuration.....
there after there are lot of CRM sort of configration like Sold to party and other BP creation with determination rule which is ofcourse can be done by you as u being functional role understand the ORG hierarchy of the client.SLA implementation etc.
I hope it clarifies ur doubt

    Thank you
    Rukshana

    Hi Experts,
FSCM : The Treasury u2013 Cash Management Integration.

    Message no. RQ147
The Planning Level ZZ is BNK and not assigned to any account.
The Planning Level Z1 is BNK and not assigned to any account.
The Planning Level E0 is BNK and assigned to Money Flow Accounts.
I try to various combination of those planning levels in configuration of V_T036V table.  But none of them worked.
I run the FDFD many times but still it is not working. Please check the system and support us to solve this. We will planning to go alive at January but still we cannot have an TR u2013CM integrated system.
The table FDT1 is getting some values.

We tried FDFD Tcode, TRCC_SWITCH is marked up, we assigned the company codes to CM OT29, we assigned all flow types to relevant to CM
We have read the following notes; 97298,  332376, 384988. But fot the configuration side I think we are ok. But stil we are getting that error.

  • SAP Solution Manager Certification Examination

    Hello,
I am planning to take up 'SAP NetWeaver - Solution Manager Implementation Tools' Certification Examination  during SAP TechEd 06. I wanted to get some kind of sample qusetion/test papers for the same.
I would be grateful if anyone could guide me as to how to go about the preparation and where to get the sample paper & other study material from?
Also, I wanted to know what level of knowledge do they expect us to have?
    Regards,
    Kavitha

    Hello,
I've tried to get to some Sample Questions here on Forum, but I couldn't get any.
I passed an exam on 14.11.2006 and I suggest to you to use course materials as suggested by SAP (SMI310). That is sufficient to pass the certificate. All the answers are there.
My general opinion: not easy…You have to be pretty much concentrated as there were questions put in negative expressions. You have to be really, really carefull.
They are taking a lot of details on subjects like Type of projects (Template projects, Roll out implementations, customer satisfaction…) including its Roadmaps. (e.g. roll-out project phases and its content….)
I only saw 3 or 4 questions familiar to me (from Test your knowledge, SMI310 book), others were really related to course materials but spoken in their own words…
If you have any questions, dont hesitate to contact me.
Good luck to you and best regards.

  • Solution Manager for a Functional Consultant

    Hai Friends
I am currently working as an SAP-MM consultant. I want to learn SOLMAN.
    My queries are
Where can I get Study material for SOLMAN ?(apart from help.sap.com)
How SOLMAN helps for a Functional Consultant in implementatin ?
details regarding certification in SOLMAN ?
    Thanks
    Sukumaran.E

    Hello Sukumaran,
There are certainly loads of resource which can help you to get fit for the topic.
I will point out some of them for you:
    <b>Certification Program</b>
    <a href="http://service.sap.com/certification">http://service.sap.com/certification</a>
SAP Consultant Certification -> SAP NetWeaver -> SAP Solution Manager 4.0 - Solution Manager Implementation Tools.
This requires you to take the SMI310 as preparatory course which is the SAP Solution Manager course that goes through the intire range of implementation and configuration support provided by SAP Solution Manager.
    <b>RKT material</b>
The ramp-up knowledge transfer material (RKT) consists of role-specific information on a variety of SAP Solution Manager topics.
    <a href="http://service.sap.com/rkt-solman">http://service.sap.com/rkt-solman</a>
Concentrate on SAP Solution Manager 4.0 release and the product offerings for the Solution consultant role. Check the must know section and for a functional insight into the project functionality I'd recommend the tutor <i>SAP Solution Manager in an implementation project</i> and for a methodological insight the tutors on roadmap usage.
    <b>Additional information</b>
Can be obtained via <u></u><a href="http://service.sap.com/solutionmanager">http://service.sap.com/solutionmanager</a>, check out the media libary and for some general questions the FAQ section.
This should help you to get started. Good look for your upcoming taks!

  • Solution Manager 4.0 Implementation Tools Experience Information

    Hi,
We are looking at implementing the Blueprint, Configuration and Test Manager implementation tools for SM 4.0 to assist with our ERP2005 upgrade from 4.6C.
We have gone through pretty much everything that is available online for SM in SAP Service Marketplace and have taken SM training SMI310. We are at the next step of proceeding with the implementation.
I am looking for <b>anyone who has gone through an SM implementation</b> and can help with documented standards, templates and defined processes and user roles for Solution Manager implementation of the Blueprint, Configuration and Test Manager implementation tools.
Anything that can give us a better understanding and a head start to our SM implementation would be appreciated.

    Hi
To answer some of your questions:
Keywords: We have used keyword "In scope" on structure nodes (processes, process steps) to allow the consultants to add relevant processes and documentation which is not relevant for the current project but must likely will be later. The keyword can then be used as a filter when generating blueprint.
Furthermore we have used keywords related to prototypes - so it is easy to apply a filter to show eg. which scenarios/processes are included in prototype1, prototype2 and so on,
We have a long list of documentation types, based on the best practice templates. Too many to list here.
Solution manager keeps track of document versions (history), so we use the standard status codes: "in process", when worked on. "review", when submittet to approval and "released" when finished.
There is no technical difference between doing config from SM vs in dev system  - as you basically access the img. But for people used to workíng in Dev system directly, it is a quite new way to work. And there are some configuration items not in the IMG - which then cannot be linked into SM.
IMG objects will appear in several processes, and one option is to link in the same img objects in several processes, and then place the documentation along with the objects in a way where the consultant use the "where used" function on img objects to check if it has already been used elsewhere, and then create a link to the documentation there, and work in the same document. But in several cases they would have to start a new document, if it is not logical to add to other documents containing info on how the img object is configured.
You can use the standard roles for application consultant and project manager - they should cover implementation needs.
Hope some of this information is useful
    Regards
    Lars

  • Reg:implementation Enterprise portal in solution manager

    hi all
i am new to the concept of solution manager .In this how can we implement Enterprise portal .Actually what an EP consultant work need to be done in this  solution manager.can any  one provide some real time scenarios info related to it .
    regards
    Deepika

    Hi,
Regarding the implementation phase, Solution Manager helps you via several functionalities:
    - Solution Documentation: Central documentation of processes, system landscape, custom code,...
    - Test Management:Change impact analysis, End-to-end test management
    - Change Control Management: Integrated quality management, Synchronized transports of various components, Controlled and documented adjustment of business processes incl. approval process
    - Application Incident Management: Integrated service desk, Involvement of partners in problem resolution, Provide root-cause analysis for complex landscapes with diverse technology stacks
The most important part in from my perspective for a implementation consultant is the Project Documentation functionality, where you can get Implementation Content for Enterprise Portal. This includes business scenarios documentation and business process included in the Business Process Repository, how to configure different scenarios and business processes, test cases, etc.
I think you can find some information in the marketplace about this functionality. For example you may find something under service.sap.com/alm -> SAP Solution Manager and Tools.
    Best regards,
    Fernando

  • Working on Solution Manager

    Hi Gurus,
in our project we are having to work through solution Manager. I am new to the solution Manager environment.
    a) Is there any link that helps us understand the basics of working on solution manager.
    b) Also, i understand we need to give the transaction codes that we work on in solution manager. (But in HCM as we work in the IMG the transaction code is always seen as SPRO for most of the configuration)
    c) How do we set the T Codes for entire configuration?
    We have the sub modules
    a) Personnel Administration (Recruitment Included)
    b) Organisation Management
    c) Time Management
    d) Payroll
    e) Personnel Development (PMS- OSA)
    f) Training and event Management

I am performing SOMAN 7.0 upgrade to Enterprise edition by upgrading kernel 701 and SP stack 18. I have already upgraded the kernel and java stack and now in the process of upgrading ABAP. I am expereincing really slow performance of this upgrade. I have checked tp and R3trans version which is uptodate as I updated kernel. I cant see any problem with CPU utilization as well swapping. I checked the SLOGs and there are no alerting errors. I see its moving and its very slow. I am just wondering if any of you guys experienced this - is this normal since this is a upgrade?

Thanks a lot, i realize the installation following the standard add-on installation procedure!
    Now i have the ST-ETP
ST     400     0024     SAPKITL434     SAP Solution Manager Tool
    ST-A/PI     01M_CRM570     0000     -     Application Servicetools for CRM 500 - 7
    ST-ETP     100     0000     -     SAP Solution Manager Enterprise Edition
    ST-ICO     150_700     0025     SAPK-1507PINSTPL     SAP Solution Manager Implementation Cont
    ST-LV     100     0001     SAPK-10001INSTLV     SAP Landscape Verification Wizard
    ST-SER     701_2010_1     0002     SAPKITLOS2     SAP Solution Manager Service Tools
Then don't forget to perform step 5. After the installation steps.
    Step 5 says this:
    5. After the installation
To activate SAP Solution Manager Enterprise Edition, the Enterprise Addon SM_APPLM has to be activated in the IMG of the Solution Manager System. This is done via IMG activity SAP Solution Manager->Configuration->Scenario-Specific Settings->Activate Solution Manager Enhancements.
                a) In the case of ST-400 SP15-SP17
To use Extended Tracebility in Change Request Management activate BC-Set SOLMAN40_CHARM_CONTEXT_001 in transaction SCPR20
                b) In the case of ST-400 SP18 or higher
The activation of BC-Set SOLMAN40_CHARM_CONTEXT_001 will be done automatically.
In my spro i don't have this options->
I see the route Activate Solution Manager Enhacements in  SPRO -> Cross Scenario Settings
    And in enterprise extension I only see ( SM_CRON, SM_QC_AD, SM_SSP,SM_SUPP_VAR)
I guess that this in SP24 is done automatically, but you said, that don´t forget the step 5 after installation.
update:I check for updates of SP and this add-on don´t have SP for now
