Solution Manager J2EE services.
Hello !!
There are a lot of J2EE services to install or to patch SolMan 7.0 , i.e ADSSAP , BI_MMR,BI_UDI,CAF , CAF-UM, KM-KW_JIKS, LM-SERVICE,LM-TOOLS , UME etc.
Does it exist a wiki or such a document which describes these services , at least to know what they serve exactly, and what functional scenario they are used. Thanks...
can you please check RFC status and also concern SM21 logentries.
regards
nag

Does Solution Manager support Service Report for non-abap?
Does Solution Manager support Service Report for non-abap?
We can schedule and view reports for ABAP but for all the non-ABAP such as J2EE stack (PORTAL) we can not pull out a report.
If the answer is yes please let me know where I can get the documentation of how to setup SLA for PORTAL or non-ABAP.
I found a document on EWA non-abap but non for SLA.Hi
actually i am in task of setting up ewa for portal.
i had already done with abap components (ewa and sla)
i stronly believe one of the pre-requiste to get sla is EWA.
so i think if u can setup ewa for portal then you can get sla too.

to Track the status of service messages in solution manager.
the status will be initialy : open.

RamHey Guru,
Within the support message itself, there is facility for Change Documents, which stores whatever you desire...
Just open any support message, on then the menu bar, GO to Extras and then click on change documents....
Do reward for usefull answer....

Queries on SAP Solution Manager ChaRM & Service Desk
Hi All,
I have couple of queries on ChaRM and Service Desk. Request your expert advice.
1. As we know it is possible to create a change request from service desk ticket. Now I want to know if it is possible to have a dependency between the Service Desk ticket and corresponding ChaRM request so that till the time the change request is not closed/ Abandoned, the service request cannot be closed.
2. Can a ChaRM change request can have multiple change documents attached to it and if yes how the status of the change request is determined. If we can create only one change document then is it the case that we can handle changes in only one satellite system with one change reuest. Example u2013 2 change requests are required if changes required in ECC & BI system for same incident.
Thnaks.
Best regards, VithalHi Sanjai & all,
Now I want to know some of the scenario where we are required to have multiple change documents. As we know once the change document has got created it is not possible to change the change request. Also in the change document we have certain actions (e.g. quality team approval) which we get on change level and not for each document. Please let me know how this will be possible in case we have multiple change documents getting created (say one for development team, other for customizing team and one for security team).
So in all we have a scenario where some actions are happening at change request level - then some changes at change document level (have multiple change documents)u2013 then again some actions which we want to do on the collective change (will not mind in doing at change document level).
Thanks for all your pointers.
Best regards,
Vithal -
Solution Manager Diagnotics Services Definitiion File Update
Hi,
I'm looking for a way of upgrading the SMD Services Definition File. (see /smd/services - Configuration tab).
We are at SPS15, but it says SPS12...I guess we have to upgrade that part too.
Thank you,
Jerome M.For those interested, I found the answer, you have to import the XML attached to the SAP Note: 976054

I've solved the problem. I think while doing kernel or component upgrade SAP clear all configuration that connected from ABAP and JAVA. You can re-config from config tool.
1. Goto \usr\sap\<SID>\<SIst.Num>\j2ee\configtool and execute go.bat
2. cluster-data -> global server configuration -> services -> com.sap.security.core.ume.service.
3. Configure:
ume.login.guest_user.uniquefields with J2EE_GUEST, and make sure the user is already exist in ABAP
ume.persistence.data_source_configuration dataSourceConfiguration_abap.xml
ume.r3.connection.master.ashost
ume.r3.connection.master.client
ume.r3.connection.master.passwd : with SAPJSF user's password
ume.r3.connection.master.sysnr
ume.r3.connection.master.user : SAPJSF User

Solution Manager prepared for the Remote Service Delivery?
In preparation of GoingLive Session, we received a mail with some questions. Among them the following:
Is your Solution Manager prepared for the Remote Service Delivery? Yes/No
Is the solution transferred to SAP?: Yes/No
What does the first question mean? what should be done to prepare the Solman for session delivery?
How do I check if the solution is transferred to SAP?
Thanks a lot,
DinoHello Dino,
The SAP Solution Manager is a platform for the delivery of services for the following areas:
● Risk minimization
● Optimization of SAP solutions
● Knowledge transfer
Services in the SAP Solution Manager are services which help you to monitor and optimize the performance and availibility of your system landscapes and minimize your system operation risks.
You can have the support services performed by SAP or perform them yourself:
● Remote Services
SAP experts deliver this service type via a remote connection (SAP Safeguarding Services, e.g. SAP GoingLive Check).
For checking whether solution manager is prepared for remote service delivery u need to check the following.
Prerequisites
You have:
● created a solution.
● set-up a connection to the SAP Service Marketplace (Explorer).
Procedure
1. Choose the transaction SOLUTION_MANAGER.
2. Choose Delivery of SAP Services ® Service Plan, in Operations.
3. Choose Order Service from SAP.
You go to the Service Catalog.
4. Choose the link to the service.
The system goes to the catalog entry of the service, in the SAP Service Marketplace.
5. Follow the procedure described in the SAP Service Marketplace.
=============================================
Solution transfered to SAP means that the u have done the configuration, testing and validation of the SAP system components and then transfered this to the satellite systems connected to Solman. Please note that solman is the central point of access for supporting implementation activities and the satellite systems are SAP systems comnected to solman in the landscape.
Hope this helps. Please assign points and let me know if u need anything specific.
Rgds

How to add enterprise Portal in Solution manager
Hello,
I wanted to add the enterprise Portal system in Solution manager ( for Service desk ) in SMSY.
Can anybody guide me how can I add the EP( enterprise portal system) in Solution manager
Regards,Hello,
What is your SLD look like?
You have to connect the EP to SLD and use the LANDSCAPE FETCH job to import to SMSY - Txn SMSY_SETUP - Source SLD.
Now the non abap system data present in the SLD will be reflected in SMSY.
Refer below threads:
How to define an enterprise portal system(JAVA) in SMSY in solution manager

Install ECC 6.0 and Solution Manager on same server Error (MaxDB/Linux)
I have installed Solution manager on one server and then ECC 6 also in the same server with another SID. during the installation it errored out at phase "SLD configuration" with UME error , J2EE_ADMIN locked etc..we checked the user id and noticed it got locked in ECC 6 system and we unlocked it.
But after the ECC installation the solution manager java engine is not coming up error with "com.sap.security.core.ume.service failed" error. Prior to the ECC installation the Solution Manager J2EE was working.
thanks in advance
Mathewerror in the /j2ee/cluster/server0/log/defaultTrace.1.trc
is as follows
#1.5#00137256A483001E0000001700006F190004163784D40864#1150327614343#com.sap.engine.core.Framework##com.sap.engine.core.Framework#######SAPEngine_System_Thread[impl:5]_61##0#0#Fatal#1#/System/Server#Plain###Critical shutdown was invoked. Reason is: Core service com.sap.security.core.ume.service failed. J2EE Engine cannot be started.#
When I looked at using jcmon the dispacher is up and the server0 and SDM is down -
Where has to be defined the SLD? PI/XI or Solution Manager?
Hello,
We have a PI production system, already configured and working. Now we are implementing the solution manager system. In both cases we only have productive systems. In which one should we define the SLD?
Thanks and kind regards,
AnaHi
Generally I would not recommend to have a Solution Manager Central SLD also used for Productive PI operations
although this is possible to do
We have seen situations whereby issues on the Solution Manager J2EE could affect PI operations generally the Solution Manager J2EE will be used for different purposes and may require different system administration. The dual purpose may also
have performance or sizing implications - technically any sizing done would have been for separate purposes.
The SLD for PI is needed for productive runtime (although there is a XI cache - even so I have seen situations whereby
this cache has limitations)
Customers often opt for the following
Central SLD running on the Solution Manager J2EE stack
Local PI SLD running on a PI J2EE stack
This is because the SLD service is available on any J2EE installation
You can then sync the local PI SLD to the Central SLD in order to build a full system list of all systems in the landscape
see the SLD planning guide at System Landscape Directory (SLD) for details
Best wishes

Employee Profile in Solution Manager - ITSM
Dear, We are going to implement the Solution Manager- ITSM (Service Desk), in our company, they have a Contact Center where the employee can call through a specific number and request an assistance from the IT Helpdesk.
Through the IVR the employee will be asked to enter his Employee ID number then transferred the call to the IT Helpdesk agent, now what they request is when the employee transferred to the agent, a Pop-up window will be opened in the IT helpdesk agent desktop which show the employee information (his last incidents...etc.) so the employee can get an updates of his Opened incident, or the ask the agent to open a new incident for him.
so is it possible for this, Do we have a profile page for each employee contains his last incidents...etc. like a user profile.
P.S: the company who’s is responsible for passing the employee ID number to the agent desktop, request a URL with dynamic variable
where they can replace this variable with the employee ID number.so the SAP Service Desk page will be opened.
Regards,Hello Yazeed,
Something like that ?

Accessing Solution Manager CHARM Via SAP CRM
Hi
Is it possible to accces charm of soultion manager via SAP CRM
If so how does it work and documentation are welcomed
Thanks in advance
R-Koption 1
> customise sap crm to cater for the external product in terms of what solution manager charm / service is currently doing for sap componet
. Create all the status for this products eg: transport is in Dev for product A, Transprot is in QA for product A or product is in Prod then test and close the call
> access solution manager from crm (NB: work center / service desk can be accessed through crm) the problem is WE NOT SURE OF CHARM
> also customise crm to cater for IT related issues like broken laptop or netowrk cable not working or IT related query,
Option 2
> intergrate the external product to solution manager o
> Customise CHARM / service desk to cater for this external product in solution manager the way it does for sap components / ibase -
HTTP Connection for Solution manager
Dear Experts,
SAP support team asked to create a http connection for solution manager for service check. We already created a R/3 connection for solution manager.why they are asking for HTTP connection? Really they required HTTP connection ?,Is they are any problem with this type of connections. What are the transaction codes which are not run in SAP GUI. Please clarify my doubts.
Thanks and regards,
Patan Thavaheer.Hi Patan,
Solution Manager transaction codes open in http browser. You can check the behaviour yourself by making a login to solution manager and execute transaction code solman_setup.
For SAP support to open http browser within remote support, they need to have http connection opened along with HTTP url maintained.
Refer to the SAP help link above for the procedure.
Hope this helps.

Deepak Kori
