Solution Manager-Test Plan Management_Issues

Dear Friends,
I am working on Solution Manager 4.0--Patch level:12
Highest support package level:SAPKITL422.
Before uploading the patch level 12, if i enter into t.code SOLAR01 / SOLAR02,
i can only raise support message by choosing the tab "Messages"
I CAN NOT raise an "Issue" at that time. (Before uploading patch level:12)
Now i have uploaded the patch to 12.
Now i can raise support message as well as an issue in both t.codes (SOLAR01/SOALR02).
My problem is:
Now i want to track an issue related to my integration testing/ UAT through solution manager.
If i enter into t.code STWB_WORK, i can only raise a support message. But i can not raise an "Issue" in STWB_WORK.
How to activate an "Issue" also in STWB_WORK?
Any other patch level has to be uploaded to activate?
regards
Senthil

By the way:
What's the difference between a Support Messages and an Issue?

  • Authorization check For Test plan in SAP Solution Manager test management

    Hi experts,
I need to allow only selected user to view their test package and the list of transaction so i need to have a authorization check by using enhancement i got struck since i am not able to find any badi for this ..kindly looking back your suggestion

    Hi Namrata,
Yes, you can create project structure before using solar01 tcode. later once your test cases (either manual or automatic) are ready then you can upload them using solar02 on test cases tab,
refer Link Test Case to Transactions/Reports - Configuration - SAP Library

  • Solution Manager Test Management Process

    Hi,
I have been assigned for a solution manager task for test process,I have used for uploading and downloading the documents ,the transaction used solar01 and solar02.
The process includes right from for eg.FS ,TS till CR,in future if anyone access can see the complete tree of the CR(Change Request.
How to provide the link between if anyone access CR to see the entire tree.
I have given the requirements below.
Description: There is no standard framework for test management , specifically the application support domain. Presently, all test efforts (unit test, integration test, non-regression test, stress test, acceptance test) are managed and executed on project or change level, i.e subject to discretion and goodwill of the individual project manager / change owner. In order to strengthen both the test process and tool support, the global Solman is to be prepared for that. Proposed phased approach is:
    a.       Familiarize and explore standard Solman functions and features for test management in global Solman (test client); hands-on tests to be started after completed IBM migration
    b.      Setup sample test plan and cases, load sample content (test script). Select appropriate test use case independently and in close communication with local contact or project mgr.
    c.       Document and showcase sample to SAP COE and representatives.
    d.      Offer and decide on deployment options.
    e.       Provide ongoing support and coaching; documentation; break-fix support as needed (expected: minimal)
Test automation and non-SAP test mgmt are not in scope .
Guide me,since the target date is fixed
    Regards,
    Anu

    Hi,
As far as I know the only solution for this would be to split it in two test cases, so you can assign the two testers in sequence.
You can assign the same test case for multiple testers but you can't split half of it for each tester.

  • Connection between Solution Manager Testing und Test Workbench

    Hello,
I have Problems understanding the connection between the test organization in the solution manager and the test workbench in the corresponding sap system.
The documentation says that the Solution Manager reuses the test workbench functionality. It is not clear for me how this connection works. In the solution manager you define test cases in the configuration of the project. When you create a test plan in the solution manager you can use the testcases of the project. But when you execute the testcases you do it in the corresponding sap system where the transaction of the test case is. Does this mean that the test cases und test plans that you create in the solution manager are transported to the target sap system? If this is true, when is the transport taking place?
    Thanks a lot!
    Regards, Lars.

    Hi Lars,
I think you are confused with solution manager and tools like QTP.
The difference between solution manager and QTP/ECATTT is the eCATT or QTP are used for creating the test scripts or the test cases but solution manager is used for storing all types scripts centrally.
It means say you have manual test scripts eCATT and Ext QTP scripts lying on the R/3 servers but from solution manager you can create a project comprises of all the scenario and linked test cases of various type.
Now at a later time when you start testing a manager login to solution manager enter the test plan project name etc and can check what is the current status of the test
    1. how much testing is completed
    2. Who is the tester what is the test script where or on which testing took place etc
you can check my weblog to knw how to manage and perform testing via solution manager.

Please reward points for the same.

  • Test Package Sequences in Solution Manager Test Management

    Hello,
Is it possible to have a sequence in a test package with only one test case but 2 or more testers?
I have individual test cases which will be tested by several testers e.g. tester1 completes first half, tester2 second half using results obtained from tester1. I do not want to split it into 2 separate test cases.
Is there any way of creating virtual copies of a test case in a test package so I can assign a sequence or any other possible solution?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
As far as I know the only solution for this would be to split it in two test cases, so you can assign the two testers in sequence.

  • Storage of QTP scripts in Solution Manager

    Hi,
I am using QTP to do automated testing. I am also using Solution Manager Test Work Bench for doing the test plan management. The QTP script that is created is uploaded to eCATT in standalone mode. I am able to run this QTP scripts from eCATT. But the problem that I am facing is in Solution Manager in the Business Process Tree when I go to the Test Case Tab and search for the test script I am not able to find it there.
    Regards
    Rejin

    Hi Rejin,
You have to first create a Test Configuration for your test script. This you can do by going into your test script from TCODE "SECATT" and follow the menu path Utilities/Test Configuration/Create, this will create a Test Configuration with the same name as your script. Now you can goto to the Solution Manager business process and enter you Test Configuration in the Test Case Tab.

  • Using Test Plan and Test Suites as work items

    Hi everybody.
I need to incorporate  the new feature of TFS 2013 that let me manage Test Plans and Test Suites as work ítems to my current  TFS environment. I have TFS 2013 Update 3 (12.0.30324); I guess this feature was released after the release I have.
    So, my questions are:
    - How can I integrate the work ítem definitions to my process template? I'm using a customized version of CMMI 12.2 and this version didn't have this elements as work ítems.
    - How can I adjust the existing data of all my Team Projects in order to use this functionality?
    - Is there any impact on the existing Reporting Services reports? or the new process template have incorporated the appropiated changes?
    - Do I need to upgrade my TFS Server? If so, a migration process is needed?
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Best regards.

    Hi AjdPC,
    Thanks for your post.
Yes, this feature released in TFS 2013 Update 3. But as the TFS 2013 Update 4 has released too, so we suggest you upgrade your TFS to TFS 2013 Update 4.
After you upgraded to TFS 2013 Update 4, if you want use this feature in the old/upgraded team projects, you need configure features for these team project, please refer to the detailed information in this document:
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff432837.aspx. For example, if one your upgraded team project created using CMMI 12.2, open this team project’s Web Access admin page, click
Configure Features>>select the CMMI 2013.4 in the
Choose a process template to continue textbox, then click Configure button.
For the custom process templates, we suggest you download the new 2013.4 versions process template from your collection after upgraded to TFS 2013 Update 4, then custom that 2013.4 process templates to instead of that old customized 12.2 process templates,
then upload the new customized process templates to your collection and create team project use them if you want.
That not impact your Reporting Services reports.
As I said, we suggest you upgrade to TFS 2013 Update 4, In-place upgrade or migrate upgrade both are ok.
Note: make the full backup for your TFS Server databases before any upgrade or migrate operation.

  • Solution Manager: Creating test plan - no test cases uploaded show up

    Hi,
I am attempting to create test plans that include all the test case documents that I uploaded to the system.  Unfortunately, when I upload the documents, check them out and then in again, and then go to stwb_2 to create a test plan, the documents do not show up in the test plan structure.
Why is this and is there someway to make the documents show up?
    Thank you!

  • Where to upload test case results in SAP Solution Manager?

    Hi Experts,
I am new to test management module in SAP Solution Manager. I need to know where to upload test case results in sap solution manager.
Please provide screenshots on how to upload test results.
    Regards,
    Sanjana

    Hi Sanjan,
let me provide you some more information.
First of all you create a SAP Solution Manager Project in Transaction SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN. I think this should be no problem. After creating the Project, make sure that the tap "Test Cases" is switched on in this project. The tap "Test Cases" is the tap below "Project Standards".
Go to transaction "solar02" and choose your created project. Find the tap "Test Cases" and upload a sample file. Please note that the configuration structure of this project can be configured in solar01 (Business Blueprint). There are many settings you can choose in a project regarding ti your requirements. Try to find them out! :-)
In transaction Test Plan Management (STWB_2) you can choose all relevant test cases you uploaded in your project and generate Test Packages which are mapped to your choosen Testers.
In Transaction stwb_work you will see the testers workbench.

  • Test Plan creation in Solutoin manager Production

    Hi
We have the Solution and Blue print updated in the Solman production System.  The test system is quite old and does not have the update Solutoin or the Blue print .  As we have updated Testcases & processes in production system, we would like to create a test plan (using test organizer) directly in the production system.  But the system is not allowing creation of test plan in Productoin and system is expecting us to create in test and transport to Produciton.  As we do not have the updated process/solution in the test, the creation of test plan in Test has no meaning and cannot be used.  What is the way out to resolve our problem.  Also guide us the procedure to create test plans directly in Produciton system and highlight us if there is signifcant impact.
    Regards
    Srini

    Hi Srini
You are asking why it is not possible to do directly in solman production
the answer is same if you ask for ECC PRD or BI PRD why we have 3 tier landscape simply because PRD is not a test system or training system all the configuration development happen in ECC/BI dev then we move the request to QA for testing
Samething if you create a Test Plan in Solution Manager PRD where you expect to do the testing for your configuration.
Moreover where are you planning to train your Actual Tester's who will use your Test Plan.
Last you have to open the client for changes to happen in PRD do you think is it correct it ?
Hope I have explained or clarified your doubt

  • Upload of Test Cases in SAP Solution Manager.

    Hello,
I am trying to create a project and its component in SAP Solution Manager with 12 Test Plans. The Test Plans have different number of test cases. I do not have the Test cases now, but I shall have them in future. I currently have the following data.
    Test Plan ID
    Module
    Business Process
    Business Area
    Sub Business Area
    Test Case Description
    Test Case Details
    Transaction Codes
    Priority of Test Cases
Can I create a structure of a project in the development system in which I have 12 Test Plans and n number of Test Cases under every Test Plan? The structure would have place holder for each test case in which I can upload the Test Cases later. Is that possible?

    Namrata.

  • New Features Planned for Solution Manager 4.0

    hello friends
can can one tell me the new features that are there in solution manager 4.0 as our organisation is planning for solution manager 4.0
    regards
    neha shah

    hi neha
The upcoming release will focus on three major aspects:
Enhanced support of key customer support processes:
The SAP Solution Manager 4.0 release will offer functionality to assist you with your major application management tasks.
For example, it will allow you to implement support packages and SAP notes end-to-end. SAP Solution Manager 4.0 will provide functionality to automatically identify relevant patches, and document and manage their implementation, testing, and import to your production systems.
    Continuous improvement services:
The SAP Solution Manager has detailed information about your solution, such as key business processes and the SAP system landscapes. If your SAP competence center selects the new continuous improvement service offering, a designated SAP contact will be named and will actively work with you on a regular basis to solve your business critical SAP issues.
Technical integration of Solution Manager Diagnostics into the SAP Solution Manager platform. Solution Manager Diagnostics provides all functionality to centrally analyze and monitor a complete NetWeaver system landscape.

  • Updating Solution Manager - Charm Non-regression Tests

    Dear Gurus,
we plan to update Solution Manager from SP18 to SP25.
One of our concerns is related to Charm. Actually, due to code changes in the Charm workflow, we'd like to ensure there won't be any regression. what would you suggest?
    1) Adding additional mandants to the sandbox system (one for every system in the transport route)
    2) Creating virtual systems in TMS
    Sincerly,
    Ludovic

I will try to clarify the issue.
As regression test, we would like to simulate a Charm workflow within the sandbox environment. The original Workflow is based on validation steps accross DEV - INT - QUA - PPD - PRD.
Question is : can I define virtual systems in TDM/CHARM like I would do to bypass a system during transports in order to simulate our complete landscape?
    Kind Regards,
    Ludovic
