Solution Manager through the browser

Is there a way to access the SM from a browser or from the portal through some business package? Or do all the users have to login through the GUI/ITS?

there is a transaction called SOLUTION_MANAGER_BSP in the SolMan.
The notes 778933 and 691023 should help you, also:
Note 705947 describes how this content can be included in the SAP Enterprise Portal.

                    I am a ABAP Developer , as mentioned in subject, my part is to Create support desk message in solution manager,through external Emails like outlook Express . To do this task i am in need of more information about some componenets which are used in solution manager support desk Message.
      My Doubts are,
1) What is the use of Ibasecomponent in Message Creation?
2) What if the ibasecomponent is mentioned as a defaut value ' 24 ' ( i.e is the ibasecomponent for solution manager - support desk ) ?
3) To track the system from which the message is created , is ibase required or the SAP component will give those information?

Let see if I can explain this well:
1) What is the use of Ibasecomponent in Message Creation?
When you define a Solution in the SOLMAN, you need to update your Ibase
Edit->Initial Data transfer for Ibase
This create a tree structure in the ibase IB52, as you can see in the attachment.
You get a componet number for SID-Client
You can configure the SOLMAN in a way that when a message arrives from
<System ID> <Installation Number> <Client> <User Name>
this is what solman knows from a message comming from a satellite, them you
know directly from which component/ibase the message has been received.
This is important data, the component/ibase, for reporting issue, for assigning this component to a sold-to-party (being in IB52, left tree, select a system and go to Goto->Partner you can assign a Sold-to party BP there for example)
2) What if the ibasecomponent is mentioned as a defaut value ' 24 '
By default the SOLMAN system has a Intalled base 01 already created for being used and maintained "automatically":
being in dswp, solution : Edit->Initial Data transfer for Ibase
If not you msut maintain the ibase manually from IB52, this is also possible.
The Ibase 01 is a prconfigured iBase for being used for the SOLMAN application.
Tink that the SOLMAN system is built up a CRM system, so the IBase is CRM matter. SOLMAN is only using some CRM applications to build the Service Desk scenario for example.

Editing HTML through the browser itself

Today, I went to JotSpot and reached the following page saying that Safari is not supported [from http://feedback.jot.com/KnownIssues/]:

<item>1. Mac support: WYSIWYG will work with the Firefox browser (free, open-source), but not with Safari. Safari does not allow you to edit HTML through the browser itself. Without this capability, we cannot offer WYSIWYG mode.
Any idea why Apple did not implement this feature? Is it in the roadmap?

I do not know how JotSpot implements online editing, but I have been on sites using Safari which have allowed me to have an html editor with formatting buttons and a choice between wysiwyg and html editors.
You can always send in a bug report using "Report Bugs to Apple" under the Safari menu.
And for now, if you want to use JotSpot you can use Firefox.

Integrate two Solution Manager to the one

I have the following question:
We use at the moment one Solution Manager with the functionality MOPZ and Service Desk. We use the other one Solution Manager mainly for the RZ-Systemmonitoring.
<b>We are about to think, whether it is possible to integrate the both Solution Manager to the new one.</b>

you can do that of course but there is no automatism do do that. You will need to do either configuration of MOPZ again - or re-setup your system to use a different system as CEN.

Rdf Reports to be run through the browser.

Hi All,
We are in the process of migration from 11i to R12 (12.3).
My client has been running the rdf reports in 11i through the web browser.
Now, even after the upgrade they do want the same functionality to run through the browser.
After my analysis, i found that we need to modify the rwservlet.properties and start the OC4J stuff etc.
But cant get the correct series of steps.
Please help me with the steps, to attain this functionality in R12.
By the way , we are migrating the 6i reports into 10g.

Can't access Reporting Services Manager through web browser.

I want to start using SQL Server Reporting Services. I'm trying to get access to Report Manager through Internet Explorer so I can set up System-level permissions. I'm running SQL Server 2008 R2 on Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1.
I didn't set up this instance of SQL Server so I don't know a lot about it's configuration. I browsed the "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10_50.<SQL Instance>\Reporting Services" folder and found the following items:
LogFiles folder, ReportManager folder, ReportServer folder, RSTempFiles folder, sql_rs_keyfile.dll.
Given the ReportManager folder I found inside the Reporting Services directory, I assumed the url for Report Manager would be http://<server name>/ReportManager but I get a 404 error when I try that. Then, I found on some MSDN article that the default
URL for Report Manager is http://<server name>/Reports. When I tried that I got an error that said:
"The underlying connection was closed: Could not established trust relationship for the SSL\TLS secure channel".
I should mention I'm not very knowledgeable with SQL Server so I may be approaching this in the wrong way.

Based on your description, you configure Report Manager access through an SSL-encrypted channel by binding a certificate.
Please verify that the certificate is installed in the Console Root\Certificates\Trusted Root Certification Authority of the local machine.

       1. I would assume you have already configured Early Watch to report to Solution Manager.
        2. SCOT configuration done and e-mails can be sent out.
        If so,
       Go to --> Solution_Manager --> and Go to the solution --> Edit --> Automatic E-mail transmission
       and give the e-mail addresses there.

How to execute BAPIs by getting the input from the user through the browser

I have created a simple xMII transaction using BAPI. It is a simple BAPI with one input. Now i want the transaction to be executed by getting the input from the user through browser. Once the user enters the value and clicks on a button, I want the result of the BAPI to be displayed in the grid. How to link the BAPI/transaction with applet/Javascript coding.

The first thing I would recommend would be for you to collaborate with your colleague Vinodh, since his/her recent thread is very similar to yours: Calling a BAPI from web page
In your case, the iGrid applet will run the Xacue query template and automatically display the results from your output parameter.
I would encourage you to take a look at the sticky thread at the top of the forum entitled "MII Manufacturing Templates Updated" since this MII project is full of samples for you and your colleague to learn from.

I was tasked with setting up security for our new SAP Solman Project Managment solution and ran into the following errors while testing.
BACKGROUND:
User type was application consultant and was prompted by business test users that this type of user should be allowed to create issues in issue management but not allowed to delete issues in issue management. Only Project Managers should. Removed the 06 delete authorization from CRM_ORD_PR auth_obj and instead of getting "you are not authorized" error message (what is expected) user is thrown to the below exception page:

Panorama never saves the pages after the browser is closed. Will there be such feature in the future? And another thing, i cant never submit a feedback through the browser, because it tells me im not running the latest beta build when im using 4.12pre.

Well, with 4.0 beta there is the option of restoring a previous session on demand (thumbs up for that :P) AND what's even nicer it even saves the state of Panorama.
Just tried it and if you have tab groups defined in Panorama when you close Firefox, if you choose to restore the session when you restart the next time (either by using the Restore button on Firefox's default homepage or the option in the History menu) Panorama gets restored as well.

HT201320 My iPod states my username/password is incorrect. When I use my username/password through the browser it is correct? Why isn't the iPod reading it?

Unable to run Solution Manager Diagnostic in txn DSWP

Hi,
In txn DSWP, I click Goto-Solution Manager Diagnostics, the browser is launched with this address:
http:<hostname>:8000/smd
However, it says "Page cannot be displayed"
I have checked that the its services in txn SCIF are activated. I can see HTTP Port 8000 service running in SMICM.
http:<hostname>:50000/smd is running fine.
Does someone has a clue where could have gone wrong?

Unfortunately this is not working. However, I begin to suspect it is due to the firewall.
I refer to the 'Root Cause Analysis Installation and Upgrade Guide" section 5.8 Required TCP ports.
I don't understand when it says "It is recommended to place the SAP Solution Manager within the same subnet or DMZ of your managed landscape."? Does that mean Solution Manager is to be in the same subnet as DMZ?
I have the tendency to believe this might be the cause.
Are you able to tell me if you did anything to the DMZ? Or simply just activate the port 8000 in firewall?
