Solution Manager version 3.2_sp 10

Hello
We are using SOLMAN for monitoring and after upgrade one of the our monitoring system there was some problem with monitoring, so we decided at the SESSION COMPONENTS click at RE-INITIALIZE and problem was solved.
As we know RE-INITIALIZE delete all information from Task Logs and Attach. documents.
Any relevant information to the RE-INITIALIZE are really appreciate.
If we are trying get back the session which was the before to back up task logs but
we got short dumps>>
Runtime Error          OBJECTS_OBJREF_NOT_ASSIGNED_NO
Exception              CX_SY_REF_IS_INITIAL
All notes regarding this short dumps have been checked.
I see that there is SAP Notes 923076 but for SOLMAN 4.0

Hi Riccardo,
As I can see at this topic you are really active
So first run tx > dswp
choose one of the Active Solution e.g Monitoring DSM
at the Operation Setup (Solution Monitoring) choose SETUP SYSTEM MONITORING
and
at the menu bar Session Componenets > Re-initialize.
But if you do this Session componenet will be reset to its initial state!!!
you will lost all you documents task logs and everything.
I can provide to you also e-mail with picture if you send me a e-mail
my address is>>
[email protected]
Thanks in advance.
I think, I will open the OSS message for this problem.

    Hi All
I am using HP QTP 11 with intergration to SAP Solution Manager version 7.1 and been stumped on this for about two days and unable to find refrence to this anywhere.
When I record a test Script and set the parameters the Test/action Parameter option does not display. the only option I have is adding the parameter to the data table.

    Hi,
re-check if the 7.4 system is correctly registered in the solman SLD system.
Re-check LMDB definition for your 7.4 as JAVA system. you have to manually created the Product system. Ensure all the Component and definitions are correct.
Also do a verrification run within the LMDB. This will confirm whether all the information is correctly defined.
Please note - SLD -> LMDB -> SMSY.
So, if the first 2 don't have the correct information, you wont have much joy with smsy.

  • Solution Manager Version

    Hi all - quick question.
We have an old version of solution manager that is no longer supported, can I put up the latest version as a stand alone in the same production environment and slowly migrate setting and configuration from the older version to the newer version with out conflicts?
    Thanks

Quick question. What's the current support package level of software component ST?
    Is it 400, 320, 310, ...?
Based on my experience, the decision between
    - upgrade a Solution Manager system (2.1, 2.2, 3.1, 3.2) to current version (7.0 EhP1)
    - or start from scratch with a new installation and configuration
depends on the release and usage of your current SolMan system.
    - Which scenarios / functionalities have been used?
    - Which data, configuration should be available again in the new SolMan system?
    - How many systems are connected, how many RFCs to managed systems exist?
Data migration is not supported within all scenarios.

  • "newer version exist" in Solution Manager SMSY version 4.0

    Hello
We do run Solution Manager version 4.0.
We have configured our D/Q and P Systems for SAP BW 3.5 (Netweaver)
When I goto Transaction SMSY there is always a yellow triangle for our BW Dev System which indicates "newer version exist".
Does anyone of you know how I can get rid of that warning?
Does this warning means that there is a newer version available? (SAP BI 7.0) or does thie warning indicate there there is a mismatch in my BW versions in the Solution Manager? Strange is also that BW Dev/Q and P match in terms of version in the Solution Manager nevertheless this warning is only visible for BW Dev environment.
    regards
    Nesimi

    Hello,
Thank you for your valid input!
When I goto "Other Object" and Select my BW Dev System (SBD) and than goto "Installed Product Versions" it already has the SAP NeWeaber 2004 Product selcted. I can get rid of the yellow triangle when I remove the hook fromthe SBD System in "Leading Product". But the strange thing about this is that I do have this hook enabled in my BW Q and P System and all of them (D,Q and P) run on exactly the same version.
So now I got rid of the yellow triangle but this one little parameter is now different from D to Q and P.
    any suggestions?
    Thank you
    best regards

    Hello Raj,
see SAP Note [153743|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/153743] chapter "In the R/3 system of the notifier (customer data entry systems).". Changing that RFC destination should be the solution for your case.

  • Solution Documentation: Define WMB and ATG in solution Manager

    Solution Manager version is 7.1

    Hi Bhavesh
This is a good question to me as I have no knowledge about IBM Websphere at all.
But at my opinion, you will need an "Websphere Appserver by IBM" (nothing else than IBM Websphere) to run the IBM Websphere Message Broker on. And therefore, you should go on assigning your Message Broker as product instance of the "Websphere Appserver by IBM".
If the IBM Websphere Message Broker is not a product part of Websphere (App)server, you should create a new product. Secondarly, if the version of your Websphere Message Broker differs from the ones provided by SAP (right pane "Productversion"), you will also need to create your own product, as they are not changeable if provided by SAP.
A third point to think about is, that if you would like to point out, that there is a real difference between the IBM Websphere Message Broker and (perhabs separatly installed) IBM Websphere Appserver, you should create your own product.
Last, but not less important: If you use the "Technical System Monitoring" of Solution Manager (see Solman Setup), you shoudl check, if there is are any templates for checking an Websphere Appserver provided by SAP. If so, you will need to assign your Message Broker as "Websphere Appserver" in order to use this monitoring template.

  • Migrating Solution Manager Project ?

Hello .. has anyone had success in migrating a Solution Manager project from one server to another ? If so, can you share the details. I am aware it can be done via template, but havent tried as of yet...
    weinux

My worry is not migration process.
That´s why you must have a certified migration consultant on-site to do the migration. If you do it on your own and you have problems after the migration you will loose support.
But after migration will solution manager configuration remain intact?
Yes - it will be identical.
Will configuration done in SOLMAN before migration, affect due to migration.Any pros and cons?
No - apart from a different OS and database configuration that must be taken care of during the migration.
Also Can you please suggest rough ( approx ) estimate for migration? Solution manager version 7.0 , Solaris 5.9 , oracle 10g.
    It´s impossible to tell that.
It depends on lots of factors (processor number/speed, speed of I/O subsystem, database configuration...). A migration is usually done three times at least to get the optimal number of R3load processes and database configuration during the migration process.

  • Please suggest on: SAP Solution Manager Installation

    Hi Experts,
We are going to install SAP Solution Manager in our landscape. Our present SAP version is: ECC 6.0 and Database is: Oracle 10.2.0.2 and OS is: AIX 5.3
    1. Please suggest us which is the suitable Solution manager version for our environment?
    2. What are the pre-requisites and needful steps to take before starting the installation?
    3. Where can I get complete step by step documents for this activity?
    4. Which OS & DB  is suitable for our environment?
    Thanks in advance!
    Veera

Can I also ask for some confirmation about a couple of things.  I have looked at the SAP documents but I can't find a definite answer to these questions:
    1.  David Kroone - you say that Solution manager should be set up on a new server but I understand that it is possible to run it on one of our existing R/3 servers.  Is this correct?  Does anyone have any comments about this?
    2.  David - you also say that we can pick any OS & DB for the Solution Manager server. We are running R/3 on Oracle/Solaris but would prefer to run Solution Manager on a Windows server running SQLServer.  Is this definitely OK?  (it would be cheaper though you advise that using the same platform could make it simpler - is this because Solution Manager works better on the same platform or is it just because we would then have a more homogeneous environment?)
    3.  We are currently on 4.7 but plan to move to ECC6 this summer.  We want (need?) to install Solution Manager before we upgrade to ECC6.  Should this affect our decision in anyway?
Sorry to re-ask the same questions but it's difficult to find a precise answer in the SAP documents.

  • Solution Manager on 32-Bit for ECC-6

    Hi Gurus,
We need to bring our 32-Bit ECC-6 system on EhP4 as soon as possible.
From installtion documents I found that its two step installation. First install EhP3 and then EhP4 using SAINT.
To install EhP we need use Solution Manager. Currently we dont have Solution Manager installed. Our first step would be installing Solution Manager. There are two options available:
    1. SAP Solution Manager 7.0 including SAP Enhancement Package 1.
    2. SAP Solution Manager 7.0.
As everywhere its written we can not install solution manager on 32-bit but some some threads say we can do.
Confirm that Solution Manager 7 cannot be installed on a 32-bit windows sys
Assuming that we can still install Solution manage on 32 bit, first we need to install EhP3, which solution manager version should we use 1 or 2?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Shreeshail,
Please use opton 1. This way you can choose to install either EHP3 or EHP4 (as your case maybe).
Also, you wouldn't need to upgrade solman to ehp1, as ehp1 comes with a lot of corrections which otherwise you will have to manually implement on a Solution Manager 7.0 system.

  • Solution Manager Upgrade to EHP1 7.01

    Hi
Need some help. Could you please share  upgrade doc/exp with me, we are planning for upgrade solution manager from sp17 to sp19.
Stack level 18 or 19 is the part of  EHP1 of Solution Manager version 7.01.
What is the process to upgrade the support pack to sp level 19? i have no exp to upgrade to EHP1 level..Any difference ?
    Thanks in advance
    Amar

    Hi Amarjit,
Solution manager upgrade to EHP1 is same like other stack upgrade. You can do it using SAINT/JSPM. But only thing you need is good preparation.
    Check upgrade guide on http://service.sap.com/solutionmanager.
Also, check SAP  Note 1276895 - Add. info. about Upgrading to SAP Solution Manager 7.0 EHP1 and SAP Note 1169247 - Enhancements to Solution Manager 7.0 EHP1 upgrade
    Thanks

  • Retrieve all Support Ticket Numbers from Solution Manager

    Hi All,
I am developing a small custom program which is in Solution Manager version 4.0. So for that program i need to fetch all NOT CONFIRMED support tickets in to Z program.
How can i fetch all support ticket numbers ? Any function modules are exist  ?
    Thanks in Advance.
    Regards,
    Ranjith

That application comes on different server CRM.
You can't call that RFC in R/3.
You have to developed a code such that call the RFc on CRM(soultion manager server) and retrive all require data to ur server in alv.
