(Solution) Redownload eBook Loop
I post this to help those researching the problem one day.
After purchasing the enhanced version of the new Jacqueline Kennedy interview book, which I did so directly on my iPad (mistake #1 because it's over 200 MB big), the eBook would load and redownload itself, no matter how many times I tried to delete it via iTunes or on my iPad. It would re-appear the next time I Synced it, and it would reappear with the blue loading line, despite having been downloaded already many times. Eventually, through trial and error, and researching hints on these boards, I found the solution.
- Connect your iDevice to iTunes
- Perform a complete backup
- Uncheck "Sync Books" (it'll ask you to confirm this)
- Then in the Apps section, find the iBooks icon or in the scroll down menu, and delete it/uncheck it
- Resync your iDevice
- Reboot it
- Find the iBooks app again, and add it back
- Checkmark the "Sync Books" section
- Allow iTunes to reload all your books
- Open iBooks and verify to see all your books are there
You should see the offending eBook, but this time, it won't start to download it, in an infinite loop. And this process didn't delete my bookmarks, I'm happy to report (although please use caution).
Once again, just deleting the eBook or redownloading it on iTunes, Syncing, etc. didn't help. This was the only procedure which helped me. Hope it does you, too.

SOLUTION - Re-Index Loops when "Index Now" button is broken
This message is for anyone having trouble with Soundtrack's loop indexing in the following way:
PROBLEM:
... You want to re-index some loops, or
... You want to de-index some loops, or
... Some loops are showing up red
AND...
... You cannot re-index from the "Setup..." button in the Search palette (the minus button and/or "Index Now" buttons are grayed out for some unknown reason)
*HERE IS THE POSSIBLE SOLUTION:*
... Delete all files from the following folders:
Library/Preferences/Soundtrack/
Library/Audio/Apple Loops Index/
... Now restart Soundtrack, and click "Setup...". All the indexed directories should be gone.
... You'll have to re-add and re-index your whole library. This may also affect GarageBand and/or Logic, and require re-indexing in them as well.
*If you're still having trouble...* there may be some more index files floating around your system. Open Spotlight and set "System Files are Included" and "File Name" in the search options and search for "search index". This should show you where any remaining Apple Loop search index files are located, so you can delete them. They will be named stuff like "Search Index E44B5969-5E4A-4E27-A3C2-E5861C5D1FB8.txt".
Hope this helps anyone else out there. It worked for me with Soundtrack 1.1 when my loops were all messed up.Well, to add metadata and transients to sound clips you need to edit them in Apple Loop Utility which is included with Final Cut Studio.
To add custom loops to your permanent library you need to make a new folder like "My Loops" and put it somewhere permanent like in Library/Audio/Apple Loops and then index it with Soundtrack/GarageBand/Logic. Soundtrack uses the "Setup..." list and GarageBand you can just drag and drop into the loop browser. Not sure about Logic but it should be something similar.
If you wanted to edit the index files manually from the Finder, they are in some weird format and I don't think it's possible. -
Correct solution for login loop on admin account
Hello,
Can any mac experts help me find the correct solution for my log in loop problem.
I have been using my macbook pro for about six years without any touble, its a 2.16 GHz intel core 2 duo running OS X 10.6.8.
Yesterday when I went to log in to my main account I see the desk top and then a blue screen and then back to the login screen.
I can no longer log in to that account, I am now logged into another account which appears to be working fine.
I have done research for the past six hours trying to learn something about what is going wrong, I have no experience solving any problems in snow leopard as I have never had any to solve.
The problem is I have found lots of posts describing the same problem with as many different solutions. As a novice I have no idea how to identify my exact problem and the correct solution.
One sujests:
All I did to fix this was zap the P-Ram by holding down CommandOption+PR upon restarting. Hold down the keys and let the boot chime ring 3 times. Easy fix.
Another:
Besides the fix that worked in that case, you could try deleting the following files from the home folder of the problem account:
Library/Preferences/com.apple.loginwindow.plist
Library/Preferences/loginwindow.plist
Another:
I think your problem may be due to a corrupt file, Library/Preferences/com.apple.recentitems.plist in your home folder. You should delete that file; the question is how, since you can't log in.
The choices are:
1. Log in as a different user, if you've already defined one.
2. Start up from a bootable external drive, if you have one.
3. Start in FireWire target mode and connect to another Mac with a FireWire port.
4. Boot in single-user mode. That means typing commands into a full-screen shell interface.
Another:
The LaunchServices database in the problem account is corrupt. This is how you reset it. Launch the TextEdit application. Select the line of text below in your browser:
Shell command
sudo -u fubar -H /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/LaunchS ervices.framework/Versions/A/Support/lsregister -kill -r -domain user
It's all one line, though it will wrap on the page. Drag or copy the text into the TextEdit window. Change the word "fubar" to the short login name of the problem account. WARNING: The forum software may insert extra spaces into the text where it wraps. I can't find a way to keep that from happening. Remove any spaces that coincide with a line wrap and occur in the middle of a word.
Now launch the Terminal application. Copy or drag the whole line from the TextEdit window to the Terminal, and press return. You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. Quit Terminal and try again to log in as the problem user.
Can anyone help me identify the exact problem and correct solution please.
Thanks

Can anyone help?
Hi,
Just an update - I'm now attempting to do a full system restore from the time machine back to before I ununstalled PSE9.
Wish me luck....!
(meanwhile, downloading Gimp 2.8 on my PC to see if I can do what I need with that in the meantime!!)
Thanks,
Aaron. -
Refund or solutions for eBooks
I bought a couple of books in the iTunes store without realizing you couldn't read them in iTunes (I can't tell if it was a huge fail on my part or just Apple being a *****. I'm guessing both.), and I only have a iPod classic. I tried opening the files in Adobe Digital Editions, but it just came up as blank pages (Is this a tech issue in Adobe or is it just that the files don't work on there?).
Is there any way I can get a refund or maybe convert the files so I can view them?
Also, I can't download anything huge atm ie fat programs that might be able to convert my files.Conversion is not possible due to the copy protection on the books, and iBooks can be read only on an iOS device at present. The Terms of Sale for the iTunes Store say that all sales are final, and it says clearly on each book's page that iBooks can only be viewed on an iOS device, so your chances of getting a refund are not good, but you can ask. Go here:
http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/
and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store.

<b> ENDLOOP.</b> ENDIF.hi sagar,
Pls go through the following explanations for understanding abt control level processing.
Control level processing is allowed within a LOOP over an internal table. This means that you can divide sequences of entries into groups based on the contents of certain fields.
Internal tables are divided into groups according to the sequence of the fields in the line structure. The first column defines the highest control level and so on. The control level hierarchy must be known when you create the internal table.
The control levels are formed by sorting the internal table in the sequence of its structure, that is, by the first field first, then by the second field, and so on. Tables in which the table key occurs at the start of the table are particularly suitable for control level processing.
The following diagram illustrates control level processing in a sorted table, where different field contents in the first three fields are indicated by different colors:
Each change of color in a column indicates a control level change in the corresponding hierarchy level. Within the processing block of a loop, you can use the control level statement AT to react to a control level change. This enables you to restrict statements to a certain set of lines. You can thus use the SUM statement to calculate totals from subsets of all lines.
The AT statement introduces a statement block that you end with the ENDAT statement.
AT <level>.
<statement block>
ENDAT.
You can react to the following control level changes:
<level>
Meaning
FIRST
First line of the internal table
LAST
Last line of the internal table
NEW <f>
Beginning of a group of lines with the same contents in the field <f> and in the fields left of <f>
END Of <f>
End of a group of lines with the same contents in the field <f> and in the fields left of <f>
You can use control level statements to react to control breaks in internal tables instead of programming them yourself with logical expressions. Within the loop, you must order the AT-ENDAT statement blocks according to the hierarchy of the control levels. If the internal table has the columns <f1>, <f 2>, ...., and if it is sorted by these columns, you must program the loop as follows:
LOOP AT <itab>.
AT FIRST. ... ENDAT.
AT NEW <f1>. ...... ENDAT.
AT NEW <f2 >. ...... ENDAT.
<single line processing>
AT END OF <f2>. ... ENDAT.
AT END OF <f1>. ... ENDAT.
AT LAST. .... ENDAT.
ENDLOOP.
The innermost hierarchy level <single line processing> processes the table lines that do not correspond to a control level change. You do not have to use all control level statements. But you must place the used ones in the above sequence. You should not use control level statements in loops where the line selection is restricted by WHERE or FROM and TO. Neither should the table be modified during the loop.
If a control level field <fi> is not known until runtime, you can specify it dynamically as (<n i>) where <n i> contains the field of <f i>. If <n i> is empty at runtime, the criterion for changing the control level is ignored. You can restrict the search to partial fields by specifying offset and length.
If you are working with a work area <wa>, it does not contain the current line in the AT... ENDAT statement block. All character fields to the right of the current group key are filled with asterisks (*). All other fields to the right of the current group key contain their initial value.
Within an AT...ENDAT block, you can calculate the contents of the numeric fields of the corresponding control level using the SUM statement.
SUM.
You can only use this statement within a LOOP. If you use SUM in an AT - ENDAT block, the system calculates totals for the numeric fields of all lines in the current line group and writes them to the corresponding fields in the work area (see example in ). If you use the SUM statement outside an AT - ENDAT block (single entry processing), the system calculates totals for the numeric fields of all lines of the internal table in each loop pass and writes them to the corresponding fields of the work area. It therefore only makes sense to use the SUM statement in AT...ENDAT blocks.
If the table contains a nested table, you cannot use the SUM statement. Neither can you use it if you are using a field symbol instead of a work area in the LOOP statement.

The program creates a hashed table ITAB, fills it with six lines, and sorts it. In the LOOP - ENDLOOP block, the work area LINE is output for each loop pass. The first field of the table key, COL1, is used for control level processing. The total for all numeric fields is always calculated when the contents of COL1 change and when the system is in the last loop pass.

In this example, the sorted internal table ITAB is filled with data from the database table SBOOK using the Open SQL statement SELECT. The sequence of the columns in the internal table defines the control level hierarchy. Since the table key is the entire line, the sort sequence and the control level hierarchy are the same. The sequence of the AT-ENDAT blocks within the LOOP and ENDLOOP statements is important.
The output is as follows:

Thanks for your observation, comment and review.
1. As a matter of fact, since many features of SAP B1 has not changed, just as you asserted, I took cognizance of new enhancements to the solution over the various releases, especially as it relates to the functionalities. By extension however, most questions for prior releases applies to the successor release.
Furthermore, there was a mix-up in the download. Ideally, you should have three sections in the book. Section I (release 2004, by extension - 2005 and 2007 releases); Section II (release 2005, by extension - 2007 release) and Section III (release 2007). The document has been reviewed. Hence, everyone that bought the book before 29th of April 2008 should visit my [blog|http://blogs.ittoolbox.com/sap/kehinde/archives/sap-business-one-solution-consultant-ebook-review-notice-24053] on how to get a copy of the revised version within 24 hours at no extra cost. I regret any inconveniences. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS ON THIS FORUM.
2. On localization, SAP Business One has more than 10,000 installations across the world. The book is not intended to be "localization specific". It is intended to serve as a certification review for functionalities that cuts across board with a mix of localized functionalities. I am sure you found in there a number of localization questions for other countries like UK. My advice for individuals using the book is to identify which questions apply to their localization.
While I await your review of the [revised version|http://www.ebookmall.com/ebook/277772-ebook.htm] as an SAP Business One advisor, I believe you will agree with me that it is an invaluable resource for preparing for the certification exam and also technical interview sessions.

Dear anyone,
I have written a code which calculates averages for 26 different groups. Attached the sample code in .txt file for reference. I would like to put it in a FOR loop to avoid writing a lenghthier code to calculate averages for 26 different groups. Attached code contains average calculation for 2 groups.
Request you to help for the same.

Family Sharing Approval of App keeps Looping
I have my son and daughter setup for Family Sharing. My son has requested for two apps from his iMac (OS 10.10). On My iMac (also OS 10.10) I have selected one notification and have hit "APPROVE' button. It prompts me to sign in to purchase the app (Although it is a FREE app $0.00) and already has my ICLOUD username defaulted in grey, but prompts for ICLOUD password. I enter this and select OK - it keeps repeating this prompting for the password.
I have confirmed I have the correct password by logging into he accounts section of my ICLOUD account via System Preferences.
I have tried the 2nd notification, and also asked him to send a new one (third) request through - but the same 'looping' upon selecting APPROVE/DECLINE occurs.
Per above, I have also attempted to DECLINE the request, but it also prompts for my ICLOUD Password repeatedly.No, did not find a solution, but the looping stopped - it may have been on one set of requests - I'm not really sure.
I am having other issues with Family Sharing request - notifications don't appear on all devices and once approved they app is not loading on requestors device etc. Great concept but its harder than it needs to be at the moment. -
Start stop while loop with tab control
I want to be able to start and stop a while loop by entering and leaving a tab. I am using an event structure to do so but it doesn't seem elegant or the right way to do this. The only way I was able to get it to kind of work is by unchecking the lock front panel box in the event structure. I have attached a sample vi of what I have so far.
Solved!
Go to Solution.
Attachments:
Loop test.vi 16 KBThe problem is that you can't even stop the program by hitting the stop button until you leave the tab, which is not a friendly user interface.
Event structures should just handle basic user events. Any given event case should not take a long time to run. While you are in the diagnostics tab, your code is stuck in that while loop. Although fixing the lock front panel allows you to do other things, the LabVIEW is just queuing up all of those other UI events (like Stop button value change) and can't handle them until the inner while loop stops and allows the outer while loop to iterate again.
You should have a parallel while loop to handle the waveform graph. You can use notifiers or queues or an action engine FGV (see Ben's Action Engine Nugget) to pass the starting or stopping of the waveform graph update to the parallel while loop. -
I've been having some discussions with team members for a project I'm currently
working on about looping in webflows and pipelines. I'm convinced that this is
just not the best idea in general, especially when a loop involves webflow AND
pipeline components. I believe that this type of thing should be handled either
completely in a webflow component or elsewhere (an EJB for example).
Here is one case. There is a webflow with a presentation node index.jsp,
InputProcessors BeginIP and DecisionIP and a Pipeline component WorkPC.
index.jsp calls BeginIP which calls WorkPC which calls DecisionIP which may call
BeginIP. The diagram might look something like
index.jsp ------> BeginIP -----------> WorkPC ---------> DecisionIP
^--------------------------------------------'
(hopefully everyone can see that diagram, but the link on the bottom goes from
DecisionIP to BeginIP).
DecisionIP is responsible for determining if the looping should continue or if
it should end. This could be done by verifying that a PipelineSession parameter
was set, or whatever. This setup causes the business logic to span two IPs and
it also forces the IPs to control the looping by returning the correct actions.
In addition, it also requires that the IPs be programmed so that they can
determine the current state (i.e. start of the loop, within the loop, outside
the loop, etc.)
This type of looping could also be accomplished by removing the DecisionIP and
having WorkPC call BeginIP. This would centralize the work into a single IP that
is now responsible for both handling the loop control, and the business logic.
Of course, this could simplify the situation or complicate it depending on the
circumstances.
My solution to this problem is simple. Don't use Webflow/Pipeline to do looping.
Besides the performance ramifications, doing this sort of things makes the IPs
to heavy with flow control logic, which should really be left to the
WebflowExecutor. Likewise, it causes the IPs to be more and more difficult to
maintain, extend and reuse.
Now here is some rough (really rough) pseudo code of the two solutions
Webflow/pipeline looping:
BeginIP.java
if not in loop {
do business logic
} else if in loop {
do different logic
prepare for WorkPC call
return "success";
DescisionIP.java
unpack from WorkPC call
if WorkPC did not complete work {
return "continue";
return "finished";
Direct looping:
BeginIP.java
do {
business logic
call Work
business logic
} while (Work not finished);
One thing to notice about these two is that the second one did not use WorkPC
because it is simply making a call to some Work that could be stored in a normal
EJB (non-pipeline EJB that is).
A few last notes and then I'm done. One thing I like about the direct looping
method is that it is easy to see what is going on. You can tell that it is
looping by just looking at the code. With the Webflow/Pipeline loop, you'll need
to either open the EBCC or look in the wf file in order to fully understand the
looping. This makes maintenance difficult, not to mention readability hard, for
both the original developer and a new developer. Lastly, although not the
biggest concern, the Webflow/Pipeline looping does much more work. It could
potentially cause the BeginIP and DecisionIP to be instantiated each loop
(depending on the WebflowExecutor's implementation). It forces two JNDI lookups
and two remote calls each iteration (one for the Pipeline EJB and the second for
the WorkPC EJB). It requires the IPs marshall and unmarshall data into and out
of the PipelineSession (the only communicate method to Pipeline components). The
direct looping does no reflection, no instantiation, one JNDI lookup, one remote
call per iteration and requires no marshalling and unmarshalling via the
PipelineSession.
What does everyone else think?
Brian PontarelliBrian,
I agree with Peter. This loop will definitely break.
You should consider having both IP and PC, let IP do form validation and put
parameters for the pipeline execution on the pipeline session. Pipeline will
do the looping for you; which means you need to implement the loop within
the PC. Also if this loop contains DB access, you might want to consider
caching in order to avoid multiple trips to DB.

Hi Brian,
Your conclusion to not use Webflow for this purpose is correct in myopinion.
Here are some more reasons:
1) Webflow node traversal is done via recursion (for reasons too lengthyto explain
here). Therefore, if your loop iterates for say 10,000 times, you will geta stack
overflow before it completes.
2) Ideally, Webflow components should not depend on other components beingin
place in the Webflow graph. They should only depend on items in theHttpRequest
or PipelineSession. Doing otherwise makes the Webflow very fragile. I knowin
practice, this is a lofty goal that is hard to achieve, but its the rightphilosophy.
So, building a construct that you diagramed makes the graph difficult tomaintain.
>
>
3) I was on the design team for Webflow, and this was not a use case wetried
to support. Consider a more coarse grained approach to the business logic,meaning
the looping should be contained within a single IP or PC.
Good luck with your project Brian!

The script below analyses an indesign doc for missing links and then places library asset on the page, cuts and "pastes into" any frame with a missing link (the cut and paste thing sucks, but we can't figure out any other way to avoid an external image source for the missing pic placeholder graphic). The loop finds the missing links except for 2. If there are 5 missing links, it finds 3. If there are 10 missing links, it finds 8...etc. Why won't it catch them all?
Script below:
myCheckGraphics();
function myCheckGraphics(){
myDocument=app.activeDocument;
for(var myCounter = 0; myCounter < myDocument.allGraphics.length; myCounter++){
var myGraphic = myDocument.allGraphics[myCounter];
if(myGraphic.itemLink.status == LinkStatus.LINK_MISSING){
var myLib=app.libraries.item("Missing Link.indl");
if(File.fs == "Macintosh"){
var myLibPath=app.open(File("/Applications/Adobe Indesign CS3/Cover Setup/Missing Link.indl"));
else{
myLibPath=app.open(File("/c/Program%20Files/Adobe/Cover Setup/Missing Link.indl"));
var selectMiss=app.select(myGraphic);
missLink=app.selection[0].parent;
var selectBox=app.select(missLink);
var myX=missLink.visibleBounds;
var myTop=myX[0];
var myLeft=myX[1];
var myBottom=myX[2];
var myRight=myX[3];
var myWide=myRight-myLeft;
var myBigBottom=myBottom-myTop;
if((myWide>35)||(myBigBottom>20)){
myAss=myLib.assets.item("Missing Link Big");
else if((myWide>15)||(myBigBottom>10)){
myAss=myLib.assets.item("Missing Link Medium");
else{
myAss=myLib.assets.item("Missing Link Small");
myMissAlert();
}//end if missing link
}//end for loop
function myMissAlert(){
////place the asset.//////
myAss.placeAsset (myDocument) ;
var myAsset=myDocument.pageItems.item("Missing Link");
var selectAss=app.select(myAsset);
var myDupe = app.copy() ;
var det=myAsset.remove();
var selectBox=app.select(missLink);
var myPaste=app.pasteInto()
app.select(NothingEnum.nothing, undefined);A fairly recurrent "problem" with Indesign.
The loop checks for missing links on an array of images. However, as soon as you correct one of these links, the array it's checking gets updated in the background, so the loop seems to skip every other image!
Suppose you have an array
missingLinks = [ "a", "b", "c" ]
(where all are missing) and you loop from 0 to 2. The first one checks #0 and corrects it. Now the array will change (in the background) to
["b", "c"]
... and your loop happily continues with #1 -- "c".
The common solution is to loop over the array backwards:
for(var myCounter = myDocument.allGraphics.length-1; myCounter >= 0; myCounter--)
Notice you have to use "length - 1" and check "myCounter >= 0", because the array elements are numbered from 0 to length-1 -- perfectly logical for a computer, somewhat less so for a human. The regular forwards loop does exactly the same, but it's a bit more 'hidden' from casual inspection. -
Hi All,
I need help in retrieving the values of nodes in a XML tree
If I have a xml document like

<facilityid>23</facilityid>

<patientid>212</patientid>
<facilityid>233</facilityid>
</item>
<item>
<form_seq_no>3</form_inst_seq_no>
<patientid>213</patientid>
<facilityid>234</facilityid>
</item>
How can I get the values of form_Seq_no node?
I want to loop for all the nodes so that I can update a table for every form_seq_no....
Thanks....Why did you open a new thread where the problem seems to be exactly the same as the one from your Re: Looping through XML Items?
In particular what is wrong with the solution given Re: Looping through XML Items? -
Got this code and need to loop it 3 times and stop, it all lies on one leyframe and seperate keyframe for actions.

In case of repeating tweens, loop you propose is not a good solution - all three loop cycles will immidiately execute before any of tweens even finishes. I'd rather use here a function invoked with onComplete of the last (most delayed) tween instead of a loop. This funciton would initiate tweens and increase some counter by one each time till the last cycle. The counter would be checked with an if statement. -
Conditional looping. How to refer to the previous result s of looping?
Hi,
I'd like to repeat a sequence for second time only if the sequence failed first time. To do that I'd like to use the Looping feature from step properties. Question: how should I build the Loop Status Expression refering to the Step Staus (Pass/Failed) of first loop?
Solved!
Go to Solution.In the Looping properties in Loop Type select Pass/Fail count. Then set the Stop after to 1 and iterations to pass. You can set the maximum number of iterations to whatever value you desire (in your case it sounds like 2). You can play with the numbers to fit your scenario. As you play with the numbers you'll see the expressions values changing.
I could give you a better answer if I understood exactly what you wanted but this will probably do what you want.
