Solution to ALL Connection Problems

Hi All,
I've been strugling for a very long time with some clients
(with connection problems with isa server and other servers). I now
finally got them connected!
The trick? Use Novell NetDrive to connect to your WebDav or
FTP server and map it as a drive letter (not unc path or network
location) and then configure Contribute to use Local/Network as
location for the files! Works like a charm.
So anyone with connection problems with ftp in a network
behind a firewall or proxy it will almost always work for you! I
also seems to have a little advantage in speed of transferring
files.
find netdrive via:
http://www.bcuc.ac.uk/main.asp?page=2117
or
http://www.acs.uwosh.edu/novell/netdrive.htm
or look it up on google
I hope this can help people, if it does please leave a
message!
Thanks,
Gab

Hi,
I was wondering if you would be able to help as the
connection setting you are suggesting sounds very similar to what i
have but still have problems. I am having problems re-connecting
people in Contribute. We use Microsoft isa server and which we map
to a local drive for connection.
We have users that were using Contribute fine for few weeks
and then say they didn’t use Contribute for 2-3 weeks and
tried to go back in to do more work, it would come up with an error
message that the connection is no longer valid. Then they go and
use the connection key to reconnect to Contribute just like
they’ve done the first time, it comes up with an error
message saying
“Contribute cannot verify your connection key. Please
contact your administrator for assistance.” But the key is
ok, even if I create a new key for the same role they still get the
same error.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I
have been battling with Contribute for the past couple of months
now.

  • The Solution to all Connection issues on Windows

I have had my iPod for a month and a half now, and right off the bat, I noticed it had major problems with connecting to my computer through USB. I had the whole bit, sometimes it wouldn't recognize that it was plugged in, sometimes it said that it didn't have drivers installed, sometimes Windows recognized that it was plugged in but didn't know what it was, a lot of the time my iPod would say Do Not Disconnect and it would go straight to the annoying black check mark, before even opening iTunes. It was a pain in the neck, and after searching these forums, you need to listen to the people who have experienced, and solved these problems.
What you need to do is save 40 dollars, go to your local electronics store and pick up a 20 dollar Firewire card and then go to the Apple store or the online store and pay 20 dollars for the USB/Firewire combo cord to hook up your iPod to the firewire card to upload new music, and to plug into the charger to get it charging at the same time.
Apple was cheap not to have supplied a firewire cable when it clearly does not support USB enough to be considered usable. Beg your parents, mow some lawns, take it out of your savings, whatever you can to get a Firewire card and that cord. It will save you SO much time, and loads of hassle. I have had it for easily 3 weeks, and I haven't had a single problem with it. My iPod works better than ever and I love it now. Seriously, get it if you can and it will help you out, so much.
Oh and another thing, my iPod wouldn't shut off sometimes, and you can fix that because it happens every time you try to shut if off, right as a song starts playing. Just go to the Now Playing, skip to about midway in the song, and then you can turn it off.
I hope this helps someone, and whatever you do, if you are getting USB problems, then spend the 40 dollars, it is no waste. The problems with USB do not stop, they instead get progressively worse. Spend the 40 bucks, you'll thank me later.
    -Freeman out

I will also testify to the power of the FIREWIRE! We were having endless problems and technical issues trying to connect with the USB. We spent many hours uninstalling, reinstalling, rebooting, resetting, unplugging, replugging, trying to change drive letters, trying different USB ports, etc. etc. and NOTHING was working! My wife even took the iPod to an Apple store to have them format it thinking that would solve the problem. It didn't! Our computer still wouldn't recognize the iPod and the Updater wouldn't "mount it" or sometimes the computer would recognize it, but iTunes wouldn't. If it wasn't one thing it was another.
Yesterday, finally fed up and stressed out, we took our laptop and the iPod to an Apple store and spoke with a tech at the "Genius Bar". We told him of our problems. He then immediately pulled out a firewire cable, hooked up the iPod and BAM! It was working! Hallelujah! It's a miracle!
So yes, apparently using a firewire to connect your iPod will solve all connection problems! Now why Apple isn't telling anyone that is anyone's guess. But I still read where other people say they're encounter other problems and they're using a firewire. A perfect fix? Maybe not, but at least it's working just fine for now.

  • Solution of all your problems regarding "belle fp2...

    hi,
    all
i found some solution i think the problem in the nokia server not in software
they are releasing software for country and product code variant ok
i will advise to you all not to do the update "over the air"
beacuse some people recieving update "over the air" but the nokia still not release the software for their country or product code variant. they are updating and facing the problems.
if nokia release software for your country and product code variant you will surely get the update on nokia suite and software updater and nokia care also have the software.
so all people in my view you use for updating your phone (nokia suite, software updater or nokia care)
and you will also able to reinstall your software by nokia suite if their product code variant released.
some people saying they are not able to reinstall beacuse they have updated own phone from "over the air" and product code variant not yet released so they are facing problem after updating.
for check that your product code variant is released or not you have to use only (nokia suite, software updater,or nokia care)
    thanks.
i want to also mention that you are complaining about
    1.front camera and exit button.
    2.multiple selection in gallery.
    3.volume touch interface.
4.colour of theme black and grey.
    5.photo and video editor.
    6.keyboard covering text
these features are not a software problem
nokia not put these features in update so all you can request the nokia to put these features again.beacuse these features are necessary.
    thanks .

  • My solution to the connection problem

First I will tell the solution and then I will state my thoughts about the source of the problem.
    SOLUTION:
This is not a standard solution but it worked for me: as many, I bought an 60 GB ipod video for xmas and as many I came home to forget about cd's by passing all my music and videos to this little beautifull machine. I started passing my files when suddenly a song didn't make it and since then it would reject any usb connection with my pc.
I couldn't even get it restored because the computer stopped responding when I conected the ipod. MY SOLUTION WAS TO FIND A FRIEND WITH AN IMAC WITH USB 2.0 PORTS; RESTORE IT FOR MAC AND THEN RESTORE IT IN A WINDOWS BASED PC.
The results where amazing, the ipod got recognized but the problem persists, when I transfer 2 GB more or less it hungs and the problem reapears.
    THE PROBLEM
It seems that the problem apears when a sudden disconection leaves the file system of the ipod in a non-integral state.
In english: when the USB connection fails it damages the ipod hard drive organization.
So, when windows attemp to recognize the ipod it finds that the ipod has no format and I/O errors occur.
In a normal scenario, the unformated part (damaged part) of the file system is a folder inside the ipod and it is posible to read the formatted folders, hence, a restore is posible but takes more time to initialize.
In the worst case scenario, the unformatted (damaged) part of the file system is the section used to initialize the connection to the ipod as an external storage medium, so the ipod stops connecting even in file trnasfer mode.
I think that the solution works because of the nature of mac os x and the usb device management system.
So the main problem is the USB connection.
My theory behind this has to do with failures in the management of the USB 2.0 ports in windows.
As you may or may not know, it is not a responsability of the hardware vendors of USB connections to supply the apropiate driver for the end user; the USB driver is responsability of microsoft, and for example the USB 2.0 driver is istaled by the service pack 1 or 2.
I have an assus atv8x, which claims to have 6 USB 2.0 ports, but the instaled drivers in the device manager displays normal USB ports. Up to date I haven't been able to fully install a USB 2.0 driver because windows "thinks" that change the driver isn't a good idea, I should be able to fit in any driver I want since THEY ARE MY PORTS!!!!!
But the conclussion is that my board is out of the market and support for it is almost gone, I will never have the apropiate driver.
    CONCLUSSION
So; I think the problem arises when you have USB 2.0 ports phisically but windows doesn't think so and fit USB 1.1 or 1.0 drivers; that makes the connection fail.
I love my ipod to much, enough to get a mac mini just for the little manzanita.
    CLOSING COMMENTS
I am positively not sure if the problem is what I'm stating here and this information should not be intended to atack our beloved MS corporation or the elemental rush of manzanita to deliver ipods and not spending enough time to look after this issues.
I could and certanlly will be wrong but this information may be of use for everyone.

  • ***Solution to all the problems everyone has been seeing***

So I got my iPod touch yesterday and I have been having the same problems as everyone else is. I talked to an apple genuis at the apple store and figured everything out. He didnt know the answer right off the bat, but after hooking up the iPod to his mac and discovering that syncing works perfectly, I tried it on my HP PC. Again, it didnt work - I kept getting all the errors again and again like before. I would get about 17 songs transferred and it would stop. So...I figured out that the only thing that works is when the iPod is totally restored, then I had to manually drag each album from the library to the iPod icon. I know this sounds crazy and like it would take forever, but one of the problems I was having is that my artwork was getting swapped with other albums to which they didnt belong. My method made it so that when the error came up, I only had to disconnect the iPod and reconnect it in order to have the correct album artwork and everything. As far as movies, good luck. They are too big to maintain a constant stream for a period of time long enough to get the entire thing on the iPod.
Apple will come out with a patch, they have to. The iPod touch obviously takes a little more power than the USB ports can put out and that has to be fixed. As for me, I want a mac now.
Also, if anyone has tried putting a movie on their iPod touch and it stops, but when you click on the icon it still shows orange usage for something you dont know what it is, please let me know if you know why this is happening. I dont know how to get if off and I dont feel like doing all the dragging again.
I hope this has helped the TONS of people with my same problem.

I agree with the last post. Although what "anketchum" offered was a band-aid "solution" it is of course not an actual solution. The solution, like he said, has to come from Apple in the form of a patch. I have tried disconnecting all my USB ports and having ONLY the Ipod on it. Same thing. I have to keep ejecting and connecting the iPOD to get another 20 songs till it gives me the error message again. I am only writing this to be yet another voice shouting out to Apple to solve this issue. Not everyone using a PC will choose to get a MAC. Some might choose to give up on Apple products altogether (although I really don't want to!). Apple ... please please fix the issue. This is my 2nd iPOD touch (had to get my first one replaced. Instore "geniuses" didn't know anything!

  • Any solutions to the connection problems with AE yet!????

For quite a while now my computer has been dropping the internet connection and then finding it again CONSTANTLY. I have been trying to play counter strike on Bootcamp, and UT2004 on the mac side or even pokerstars, and everytime I play every minute or so the game loses internet connection or somthing for about 10 seconds and then it comes back and I continue playing until it happens again, and again, and again. Its driving me nuts. My computer is located pretty close to the airport, and there is no interference like phones or microwaves as well as no neighbors accessing the connection. I have also tried reverting to AE version 5.5.1. 802.11g Also i have tried changing the settings on the airport to 802.11g and the other one I can't remember which one but nether of those helped the problem whatsoever. If anyone could help me with this problem they would surely be my GOD! Oh and if it makes a difference I'm on a Intel Mac 2.0ghz.

    Sean4258,
Since the AirPort Extreme base station is itself a router, it is likely that what you're calling a "router" is actually a modem. Since you're also describing a coaxial cable entering your home and screwing into the back of the modem, it appears that you have cable service rather than dsl service, and therefore, the modem is a cable modem.
It is important to you to determine what other ports are on that cable modem. Is there an ethernet port on the modem? If so, is there more than one? If more than one it may not be a cable modem, but a dsl modem. If you in fact have cable service and the modem is a cable modem, it's most likely that there is no more than one ethernet port on the cable modem.
It is also important to you to determine if you have an AirPort Extreme base station or an AirPort Express base station. There are two ethernet ports on the Extreme, which is round, 6.5" across and 3" high, and sort of space ship looking, but there is only one ethernet port on the much smaller Express which is only 3" x 3.5" x 1" in size. Besides the ethernet port, the only other port on the Express is a USB port and next to it an audio jack.
Your particular complaint probably originates from a less than optimal connection due to using a USB cable from the modem to the AirPort base station. This was NOT a good idea, and will forever make your game playing extremely unsatisfying. Your goal should be to replace the USB cable between the modem and the AirPort base station with an ethernet cable.
If it should turn out that your modem has NO ethernet port, but only a USB port, you'll need to get your service provider to replace the USB modem with a modem that has an ethernet port. If the modem was not provided by the service provider, that may present a problem of an extra expense in that it will need to be replaced by the correct type unit.
If the modem is a cable modem and has one ethernet port, get an ethernet cable of the appropriate length to reach as far as to the AirPort base station and plug it into the cable modem's ethernet port and into the AirPort Extreme's WAN port, which is the port designated by a circle of eight dots.
If it turns out that you have an AirPort Express instead of the larger Extreme, connect the ethernet cable to the lone ethernet port. Of course, remove the USB cable from both the modem and the AirPort.
If you also have a wireless printer, there will be no problem. However, if your printer is not wireless and needs to be wired, use the USB cable between the printer and the AirPort Express.
    Everything should then work great!

  • Temporary Solution for iPAd Connectivity Problem.

I have posted this a few times, because I was excited to find a quick way to reconnect my iPad to its network. Hope it works for you too.. Please reply if it works..
When your iPad displays the screen to re enter your network security key, do not enter the key, instead, press the iPad's power button until the iPad displays "Slide To Power Off". Then touch the "Cancel" button on the bottom of the screen, and the iPad will reconnect to your network. This is NOT a fix but a simple workaround until Apple finds a software fix.
Please respond to this thread if it works for you.
Remember this is only a workaround for iPads that disconnect from a network, asking to re enter its security key.

    REMINDER,
This works but you Must Not enter the security key when asked to, AND you MUST hold in the Power Button until you get the "Slide To Power Off" screen. Simply "Cancel", and your iPad should continue to reconnect on its own.

  • Found the Solution to All of Aperture Problems! Easy Fix.

[ Edited by Apple Discussions Moderator; Please start a new topic about your technical issue. ]
After much tinkering with Aperture 1.0, 1.0.1, and 1.1, I've found the solution for all the problems that Apple is having with Aperture:
They should simply acquire Capture One Pro and use that as the foundation for the RAW conversions in Aperture.

    Hello,
in my opinion Aperture 1.1 is a killer application for editing files. The support for systems with two displays is the best I have worked with. But there are many fields to improve.
    - Quicker, easier and reliable IPTC keywording like iView Media Pro offers.
    - Still needed: better conversion of RAW files. Capture one Pro´s Color tools are very precise. When you are shooting portraits stay with C1. I have to open nearly every image converted with aperture within Photoshop. This is barely needed with C1Pro.
    - The HUD experience is still weak I think. Tweaking an image exactly is painful because the sliders are too small and sometimes a little move of a slider meens a lot of change inside the image.
    - Generated Webpages are full of coding errors. Weird thing: the templates are correct.
    - Versions of images should be marked more clearly. Please show me names or Pop-Up notes or something.
    - Having a closed vault looks good and sounds cool. But for now my vault holds 36 GB. This will grow quickly. I don´t feel good about it. I could use several vaults. For every month, every year. But am I able to search in all of them at the same time? Does Spotlight searches inside Aperture libraries? I dont think so. iView does. So I use iView to keep an eye on my aperture lib. That sound like a joke...
But I like Aperture a lot. It is a revolution. When I work with images I usually have 2 to 6 versions on my harddrive. Plus backups. One original. One for print, one for the web, one for the client and so on. This is all gone with Aperture. And that´s great. But a revolution is not an easy thing. Many things are to improve. And they have to be improved without loosing this Aperture thing.
My conclusion for now: Aperture is a workhorse. It helps a lot to edit images and to distribute them. It helps to keep images organized.
It is not a digital archival system nor a high precision raw converter. When you are shooting lots of images during events - use Aperture. When you are shooting high quality productions use anything what makes sense to you. Aperture is a version number 1.1 We have to be patient until the revolution evolves.

  • Found a solution for all issues!

Hi all, I just wanted to post my solution for all my problems with my nokia e63 (maling issues, crash issues, browsing issues, etc), yes, there is a simple way to solve them all and I took it, I just got a Blackberry and now everything runs smooth!! YES!, there is light at the end of the tunel, jajajajajaja I'm so happy to finally get over this nightmare, hope you all find your way out of Nokia's blackhole! Good luck

I was able to locate an example that somewhat applies to your application:
    https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-11632
I simply modified the code to allow for CI and CO tasks, similar to your VI, and it worked fine.  I've attatched the modified code below.  However, I was unable to run your code without receiving the error you were seeing.  Even after I made the VIs identical (leading up to the Start Task VI), I saw different bahavior.  The VI that you are working on may have been corrupt.  This modified example should be a good starting point.

I have an AT&T contracted iphone 5. Cannot send mms to anyone but other iPhone users. If you search the Internet, you'll see that the problem is everywhere...both the carriers and Apple are actling like the problem belongs to the other, or feigning any knowledge (which is kind of funny since the no MMS thing was in an ios6 beta that was released awhile ago, so I KNOW apple knows about it). No, I'm not running a beta (obviously, I just got my iphone 5).  Awesome. Have a great camera on this thing, but cannot send OR receive MMS from anyone other than other iphone users. Gotta love it.

After upgrading my iPad Air with IOS 7.06, I could no longer connect to the internet.
I have 2 MacBooks Air, 1 ipad mini and one iPhone 4S running on the same network, and they are all connected to the net and function well.
So I cleaned up the ipad completely, installed the latest firmware and reinstalled my apps : no connection.
I tried all things of resets and forgets. No result.
I have been fondling with my Airport Extreme 5 , but that did not help much.
This morning I went to a neighbor , hooked my ipad air on his network, typed the password and the thing all worked fine.
I have tried to connect the ipad air as an ethernet client, but that did not work. „Not enough power“ was the statement
    Ideas anyone ?

Yes I tried this manyfold. But did not work.  Reading on, I took Tesserac's advice. Shut down router and computer.
Start router after 15 minutes and wait another 10 minutes before starting the computer.
Et voila.... everything is back in working order,

  • Found solution for connection problems iPod Nano 3rd gen to Windows Vista!!

    Hello people!
I just found a solution to connection problems with iPod Nano 3rd generation when connecting it to a Windows Vista machine.
Because of 'security reasons', Vista asks you to check the drive for errors when connecting the iPod.
    The thing to do here:
Click the cross to exit the windows; DON'T CLICK 'do not check drive'!!!!
So just click the red cross to close the window and the iPod should be recognized by iTunes.
    Symptoms:
    - iPod cannot be recognized by iTunes when you connect it.
    - iPod doesn't show up as a drive in Windows Explorer.
I really really hope I solved your problem. Have fun!

Have not been able to connect to iTunes for months, right about the time Microsoft put out the Zune! Would love to hear from a lawyer about a class action lawsuit againat Apple since this issue has not been resolved and we are required to use iTunes. In the meantime, filing a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission!

Thank you both for your responses but my daughter was reassured by the salesman in the iStyle store (official Apple store in the UAE) that iMessages would work but conceded that FaceTime wouldn't. This is extraordinary. I have moved the router and also tried resetting it to its factory strings.  We have had this router for over a year and all our devices have always worked. Now all four laptops will not connect to the internet. Only one oMac and our phones and iPad.
I have had far more devices running at once before but now all laptops are timing out on connection. Some say this iIP address is already being used but if I manually set to a slightly different IP address it does not help, noir if I manually set to the correct IP address. Why would all our laptops (four) suddenly be unable to connect?
