Solution: WRT54GS connection porblem with a TV cable internet

i had a problem connecting to a TV cable, i hade an error note: " the router is not able to connect to the DSL/cable internet, please turn the broad band modem off then on and try again"
i solved this problem by using the"Easy Link Connect" programe of "Easy Link Network Tools" support...the programe is very easy to use..the stpes are baby steps and it does everything automatically.

I have been able to connect. Pinging works fine. The problem I have is that it is inconsistant. I cannot relie on the ability to connect every time.
I may be connected for several minutes and then disconnect. Come back several hours later and then can't connect.
I feel I have navigated thru almost all the settings but have overlooked some little detail which is causing the inconsistancy.

I misunderstood what Time Capsule is and had hoped for a wireless backup device that didn't have to be connected to the router.
The TC is a wireless backup device.. it does not need to be connected to the main router..
The problem is the computer.. not the TC.. the computer has only one wireless card.. if your current internet is by wireless.. then you must choose.. internet or backup.
But my other suggestion will work.. get a wireless USB stick compatible with Mac OS.. there are plenty and cheap.. since you are in the same room as the TC they will work fine.. plug it in and load the driver.. taint hard.
You should do the first backup by ethernet though.. wireless is too slow.. once you have that, you will do fine.
Search ebay for wireless n usb.. Mac compatible..

As you can see.. they are getting smaller and neater.
I have no idea if it works .. haven't tried one.. but I have used USB wireless stick on the Mac to overcome this issue.
You will need to set static IP .. not hard but you need to set specifics if you do buy one post again for the setup.

When you say it ignores your iPhone, do you mean it does not appear in iTunes if you launch iTunes? Or it does not appear in Finder? Or does not appear in iPhoto? Or you get an error message?

Solution how to deal with cheap HDMI cables and some VGA adapters.

I've purchased cheap HDMI cable which I couldn't force to work. Basically after plugging in the screen on my mac blink blue for a second, but then everything is going back to normal, and screen seems to be not recognized. I checked the cable with my friend's mac, and it was working just fine, so I thought hey something is wrong with my mac, either the MiniDisplay Port or Lion (10.7) has some bug (friend is working on (10.6).
I was experimenting with VGA adapter and it showed that MiniDisplay Port is fine, unfortunatelly it is painfull because quality is lower, and audio has to be plugged in separately. Accidently I've plugged in HDMI while audio was connected regular way and it started. So I figured out that probably grounding in those cheap cable is not sufficient for some macs. So step, by step solution:
1. Plug in HDMI cable to your TV
2. Switch TV to the right setting (display given HDMI port)
3. Connect audio cable to your TV
4. Connect audio cable to your MAC
5. Connect HDMI cable to your mac.
6. Image should appear on your TV, you can change resolution if you like
7. To enable sound on TV go to System Preferences, choose Sound, Output tab, and choose your HDMI connected TV.
While testing my VGA adapter which was working fine but I never could make it work with my Panasonic TV, I found a way around. First you have to connect to regular monitor, or TV which is working, and then switch to TV. The reason why it is not working straight is probably to high resolution that mac is trying with this TV. In points:
1. Plug VGA adapter to monitor or TV that you know it is working.
2. Plug adapter to your mac
3. With adapter connected to mac switch VGA cable to your panasonic plasma tv.
I hope this soultions will help some of you.

Connect 4500X with spf+ twinax cables

Hi what would I need to connect the 4500X with spf+ twinax cables?

Double check the 10 Gbps transceiver compatibility list. Technically only the 1, 3 and 5m versions are supported.
I've used them all without any issue in the 4500X. No special commands are necessary.

Cannot conncect PC to internet through wrt54g version 5 (I have Comcast cable internet)

I had my Comcast cable internet installed yesterday and tried to connect my Linksys wrt54g V-5 wireless internet with no success. I have tried running through the CD install setup multiple times (even doing the 30 sec power cycle) and at the end of the program Im told "PC cannot connect to internet". I've also tried switching around different cables and still nothing...
Just to be sure I've done the power cycle correct, these are the steps that I took:
1) Unplug internet cable from PC>router>Modem
2) Unplug router battery (after holding reset button for over 30s) then Modem.
3) Reconnect Modem cable to Router internet port
4) Reconnect power to Modem
5) Connect cable in port 1, 2, 3 or 4 (tried them all) to PC
6) Reconnect power to Router (waited for a few min)
7) Turned on PC and tried the Install program again with no success
I believe I have to clone my MAC # for the router from my PC but I cant connect to internet with the cables attached (or wirelessly) to the modem and the router, but I can get on the internet directly from the moden just fine, and the Linksys shows green across the board when everything is connected...
Is there any other way to clone the MAC # with out having the Linksys attached or would that be self defeating??
Any help would be MUCH appriciated (especially b/c the Comcast folks want to charge us AGAIN to come back out and install the wireless when I specifically asked to have it done the first time...)

Do not use CD to configure the router..You can configure the router manually.
Open the set up page of the router by launching an Internet Explorer Browser and type the address bar, 192.168.1.1 and press enter. When it prompts for the username and password, leave the username field empty and provide password as admin and click on ok.
On the main setup page the ""Internet Connection Type"" should be on ""Obtain IP Automatically - DHCP “. Click on the Save Settings button.Now click on the sub tab ""MAC address clone"".Click on enable..Click Clone & click save settings ...Check WAN Ip on Status page of router .... If getting Valid IP,try going onlineIf not ... power cycle for 4-5 minutes & then again check the WAN Ip address .....

WRT54GS CONNECTION TO MODEM THROUGH USB CABLE WITH AN ETHERNET ADAPTER

The ethernet port on my motorola surfboard modem is damaged but the usb port is fine. I am attempting to connect my WRT54GS (ver 6) router to the modem via a usb cable with a male ethernet adapter. Unfortunately it does not appear that the router is able to accept such an input due to driver or firmware issues. The modem requires me to set up my pc with another driver specifically for the usb connection when i am connected directly. Any suggestions?

Get a new modem, The USB is not meant for that it's meant for wireless network storage.

WRT54G connection issues with cable

My router was working fine after few months back, 1 thing I suspect is that I upgraded to the latest firmware of v.2.
The problem is the access to the out world stops working, I can login into the router wireless and access all the UI but if I PING from inside the router to an external site it just doesn't work.
The only way to fix this is by resetting to the default settings (in the administration tab) or hard reset (power button from the back), after this it works but I need to configure again the security, after a while may be a day or some times 4 days after it stops working again and I need to repeat the same steps.
What I believe is that for some reason something gets renewed in the router and messes up with the routing table so nothing can go outside the router itself.
I called Linksys and they didn't help is there somebody with the same issue ? How can I fix it?

Problem connecting mobile with PC by cable

Hello, I'm a Nokia 3110 classic user. I have a problem with the connection from my 3110 classic to the PC. I use a Mini-USB cable (from my HP digicam). After I updated my PC Suite nothing works anymore. Reinstalling doesn't help, too. When I connect my mobile with the PC the driver installation assistant of Windows XP appears but the installation fails because there's a problem with the 'Nokia Phone Parent Driver'. What can I do? Plz help me to solve this problem :-(

I need help connecting drums with MIDI-USB cable.

I've been trying this for years, but I just don't know what to do or what I need to connect my electronic drums to GarageBand or any other MIDI programs, I pretty much connect the module and my mac with a MIDI to USB cable and nothing seems to recognize or detect any MIDI instruments or anything at all, does anyone know why or how to do this? Trouble connecting AEBS with Cox & Motorola cable modem

I am able to set up my new AEBS however I cannot connect to internet. I am told via Airport Utility that I have set up correctly and have the steady green light and the wireless connection however it just won't pick up the Internet. I've called my ISP Cox Communications and they told me it's an issue w/my router. I noticed a similar problem in discussion boards with Comcast and followed the same instructions and it did not resolve. I've tried to power off cable modem for 10 sec, 2 min and 10 min and just no luck. I immediately plug back in my Linksys router and am able to connect to internet just fine.
Anyone know what to do?

Power off your cable modem for at leat 10 HOURS! Cox like every other ISP "caches" the MAC address of your router. The only way to "reset" this and allow a new MAC address to be accepted, is to turn off the cable modem overnight for 8-10 hours.
Some routers have the ability to "clone" a previous router MAC address, therefore not requiring the above process, but the AEBSn does NOT have this capability.

Trying to connect 7250i with DKU-2 cable

Title says it all.
Bought a DKU-2 cable yesterday, downloaded PC Suite and have been trying to connect ever since then.
It seems that this is a common problem, I get the USB error too.
So how do I resolve this?

You've got the wrong cable. 7250i uses the DKU-5 so DKU-2 doesn't work at all. I hope you can take it back to the store - did they tell you it would be compatible?
And when you get the DKU-5, you need to install its driver first as they are not included in PC Suite.

What operating system? Did you change USB cables? Do not use a USB hub, plug the printer directly into your computer.
