Solutionmanager set up- XI and ABAP monitoring

Dear All,
We are in support project now and planned to do monitor XI system through solution manger.
I was intimated to provide what are the  things can be configured in solution manager for monitoring XI system
Could anyone already monitoring XI in solution manager can help me out on this?
Thanks,
srini.

Hi Chirag,
We would like to have for the following reasons,
--Central monitoring using solution manager,
--Easy for support activities
--Alerting concern people based on alerts
--Mainly for easy monitoring of all the systems and issue resolving.
Thanks,
srini

  • Setting up displays and preview monitor with Quadro FX1700

    Hi,
I am using a Quadro FX1700 graphics card with two DVI displays and a montitor with component connection to the PNY breakout box. I want to have a spanned desktop on my DVI displays and use my component monitor to preview video in Premiere.
Is this possible (it should be as the card is designed for use with premiere) and how do you d set it up? The nVidia control panel only seems to allow two displays at one time..!!
    Thanks!!!

  • Abap monitoring shows only errors

I'm working with a new installed PI 7.1 and my first PI scenario was a test of a SOAP to RFC scenario. I defined a WSDL and use a client to generate a request and send it.
My problem was that the Abap monitoring (sxmb_moni) didn't show me any messages sent. Then I set loggin parameter true because my scenario uses synchronous communication, and I rememberd to read that in order to make synchronous messages persistent loggin has to be se to true. I can see messages now, but only when they are cancelled due to an error. The successful ones just aren't showed (I'm not using any filter other than the time). However I can see them in the RWB monitoring.
Is there anything wrong? Should I make any other administration task? I've worked with 7.0 with the same type of scenarios and I had not this problem.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Eduardo,
I am not sure if I got your right - you have synch communication and are able to see entries in RWB monitoring, but by clicking on single mess you don't see the audit log. Only the log for erroneous messages is available.
In difference to older versions AF Messaging System on PI 7.1 does not persist the audit log for successfully processed messages. Pls refer to the following blog:

    Hi,
I have followed the BPA set up guide and done all the configuration for BPA. I have set up BPMon for a solution and in the logical component node i have done configuration for many application monitors.
Also in the "Load Master Data" node the master data is loaded. But still in BPA when I am selecting the time frame and applying it I am getting a message that no data is applicable in the selected time frame.
How can i get the data in BPA.

  • Macbook Pro and External Monitor flashing?

I am using a Macbook Pro with an External Dell 1908fp 19" monitor via a Thunderbolt to DVI adaptor all fine.
However the annoying niggle I have is that the monitor which seems fine, keeps flashing intermittently on and off randomly?!?
Would anyone know why this is happening and if its the Mac's fault? I have the MBP open and the Monitor as the 2nd screen at 1440x900 which it seems to have defaulted to, and its very clear on both screens.
Is my monitor on its way out? it seems ok, and is quite new (though it was 2nd hand a couple of years ago) or is this a known Apple issue?
    Thanks for any help

The graphics card in the MBP supports resolutions far greater than that of the internal display, so any modern monitor will work fine - up to and including Apple's excellent (but pricey) Thunderbolt display and Cinema display.
The MBP will detect the external display and set the image to the correct resolution automatically, or you can choose the resolution in System Preferences -> Displays, so you don't need to worry about a black border.
Most modern monitors are 1080p and this works perfectly as an external display for a MBP.  You will need a mini-displayport to HDMI cable to connect the two.  If you get a monitor with built in speakers then that cable will also transfer audio.

  • Viewer and External Monitor doesn't playback at same time

When watching clips in the viewer window, they playback fine. But on my external monitor, it only shows the first frame from when it's played. when I stop playback, the external monitor then shows the last frame the Viewer window is stopped on. How can I fix it so that the viewer and external monitor playback the clip at the same time?
At the moment we're digitizing footage with the Offline RT Photo JPEG codec set to 75% quality.
A few days ago we were digitizing footage at 35% quality and that footage plays back fine. We moved to 75% quality at the editor's request. A few days ago we had created a few sample 75% quality tests for the editor to view. I loaded those clips into Final Cut right now and they playback fine as well. So it's all of a sudden just these new clips created yesterday :S.

    Yes.
Forgot to mention that the timeline plays all the footage back properly on both the canvas window and the external monitor. Sorry for not mentioning that sooner.
More discoveries! The playback 'freeze' only happens if I open a clip from the browser into the viewer. If I open a clip from the timeline into the viewer, it plays-back fine!

  • Users mapping between EP and ABAP system

    Hello
I'd like to ask for some guidance in my quest
    Current situation looks like this:
I've configured UME in AS Java to work with LDAP as read only data source. Then I've configured SPNego to run SSO - It works, users from MS AD can log into portal.
Now I have application in WD which authorizes via EP/AD - works fine.
And next step is users mapping between AD and ABAP backend (serving some BAPI's for WD app)
I've found a bunch of help pages starting from
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce711/helpdata/en/0b/d82c4142aef623e10000000a155106/frameset.htm
But somehow it's quite complicated to achieve this mapping. I've tried to set RFC destinations logon type to user mapping but without succes.
Can anyone point me to some more clear example or give path to configure this scenario? Is there a way of configuring this with NWA or some XML file editing is required?
    Any help will be appreciated.
BTW: whole environment is in version 7.11
    Best regards
    Maciej

There is no equivalent to SPNEGO on the ABAP side.
If your goal is to propagate the user, then possible options are:
-> Wait for SAML 2.0 or invest now in a SAML 1.0 provider.
-> Use the same kerberos ticket for the EP as what your ABAP system will accept: route = SNC and 3rd party libraries.
-> Issue SAP logon tickets for the ABAP system from the EP, and use these in your WDA.
Another option is to expose the service with saved logon data in the ICF. If the service is just a wrapper for the BAPI, then you can also consider using trusted RFC between the service and the backend, but this might not be acceptable for your service.
I have only done experimental stuff with this and some of the above is not released yet. Also consider the consequences, even if it "does work"...
    Cheers,
    Julius

  • Difference java stack and abap stack

    hello experts,
Difference between java stack and abap stack

    Hi
    ABAP Stack
The application data in the SAP system is accessed in
the ABAP stack via platform-independent ABAP programs.
ABAP stack is used to run ERP applications mainly MM,SD,FICO etc
Currently in most of the installation you can found mixed stack(ABAP+JAVA)
    JAVA Stack
The Java side of the SAP Web AS is often referred to as SAPWeb AS Java or
    as the Java stack.
This central SAP Web AS Java instance consists of two separate
instances plus one special application, the Software Deployment Manager (SDM).
These two separate instances that build the central SAP Web AS Java instance are
a standard SAP Web As Java instance, offering a Java dispatcher process and one
or more Java server processes and the so-called SAP Central Services instance
(SCS). The SCS instance offers two processes, exclusively used by the Java side
of the SAP Web AS: the enqueue services and the message service. These two
services only work for the Java side of the SAP system.
Java Stack is mainly used for SAP Portals and you can host Internet/Web based application written in JSP/EJB ,Java Stack uses Java Threads to run application,
    Also, Xi requires Double stack
    ABAP + JAVA Stacks
Bcoz some components are developed on JAVA
Some components are developed on ABAP Based.
    JAVA:
    Integration Builder
    SLD
    Adapter Engine
    Runtime Workbench
    ABAP:
    BPE
    Integration Engine
Integration Engine and the Integration server reside on the ABAP Stack. All the Execution of the IS part will be done on ABAP Stack. we can monitor the processed XML messages also in SXMB_MONI( ABAP Stack)
Adapter Engine will reside on the JAVA Stack. All the IR, ID, SLD, RWB Application are developed on JAVA Stack, so thats why we need JAVA Webstart to run these Applications
All the Adapter related Errors we can see in RWB, Communication channel monitoring( Developed and sits on JAVA stack)
    Hope this clears your doubts
    Thanks

  • Examples for SAP Memory and ABAP Memory

    Hi all,
can u give me one example of sap memory and abap memory.
                                              Ranjith

    Hi,
    <b>SAP Memory</b>
SAP memory is a memory area to which all main sessions within a SAPgui have access. You can use SAP memory either to pass data from one program to another within a session, or to pass data from one session to another. Application programs that use SAP memory must do so using SPA/GPA parameters (also known as SET/GET parameters). These parameters can be set either for a particular user or for a particular program at the time of logon using the SET PARAMETER statement. Other ABAP programs can then retrieve the set parameters using the GET PARAMETER statement. The most frequent use of SPA/GPA parameters is to fill input fields on screens .
    <b>example:</b>
ABAP programs can access the parameters using the SET PARAMETER and GET PARAMETERstatements.
    To fill one, use:
SET PARAMETER ID pid FIELD f
This statement saves the contents of field f under the ID pid in the SAP memory. The ID pid can be up to 20 characters long. If there was already a value stored under pid, this statement overwrites it. If you double-click pid in the ABAP Editor, parameters that do not exist can be created as a Repository object.
To read an SPA/GPA parameter, use:
GET PARAMETER ID pid FIELD f.
This statement places the value stored under the pid ID into the variable f. If the system does not find any value for pid in the SAP memory, sy-subrc is set to 4. Otherwise, it sets the value to 0.
    <b>ABAP Memory</b>
ABAP memory is a memory area that all ABAP programs within the same internal session can access using the EXPORT and IMPORT statements. Data within this memory area remains throughout a sequence of program calls, with the exception of LEAVE TO TRANSACTION. To pass data to a program that you are calling, the data needs to be placed in ABAP memory before the call is made from the internal calling session using the EXPORT statement. The internal session of the called program then replaces that of the calling program. The program called can then read from the ABAP memory using the IMPORT statement. If control is then returned to the program that made the initial call, the same procedure operates in reverse. If a transaction is called using LEAVE TO TRANSACTION, the ABAP memory and the call stack are deleted. They cannot be used for data transfer.
Since objects belonging to ABAP objects can only be accessed within an internal session, it does not make sense and is therefore forbidden (from a syntax point of view) to pass a reference to an object to a calling program through the ABAP memory.
    <b>Example:</b>
Export hello to memory id 'Hello_world'.
Import hello from memory id 'Hello_world'

  • Agent Desktop Recording and Silent Monitoring with IP Communicator.

Reading through the forums I have seen several posts which make me think this should work, but I can't seem to get silent monitoring or recording using the agent desktop to work when the agent is connected through IP communicator.   Currently I have help desk agents using extension mobility to log into 7962s that are connected to thier desktops running agent desktop connecting to UCCX 7.01.  Silent monitoring and recording work fine with thier hard phones. When I install IP communicator on the PC and log into it using EM, the agent desktop takes control of the IPC just fine and will distribute calls to it, but my recordings are blank and silent monitoring from an supervisor station fails to initialize.  Is there something I am missing in the configuration that is special when using IPC instead of a hard phone?  Thanks in advance.

Couple of things I've learned about the CIPC and monitoring/recording:
No named devices.  Use the SEP + Mac Address of the local Ethernet interface.
Ensure the Ethernet interface can be put into permiscuous mode.
Ensure you are NOT using a shared line appearance for the IPCC Extension.
If you are using CAD to do the monitoring/recording, launch the CIPC before you launch CAD
If you are using SPAN, ensure the CIPC RTP traffic will traverse the network where the SPAN interface is located.
If you are calling phone-to-phone, know that the CIPC will attempt to negoitiate G.722.  UCCX cannot monitor/record G.722.  Set the region or call to the PSTN where you can guarantee a G.711 or G.729 call.

  • Hi Friends ....Difference between SAP memory and ABAP memory

    Hi Friends,
I faced a interview and they ask this question
What is the difference between SAP Memory and ABAP memory..

    conti
    SAP Memory
SAP memory is a memory area to which all main sessions within a SAPgui have access. You can use SAP memory either to pass data from one program to another within a session, or to pass data from one session to another. Application programs that use SAP memory must do so using SPA/GPA parameters (also known as SET/GET parameters). These parameters can be set either for a particular user or for a particular program using the SET PARAMETER statement.
Other ABAP programs can then retrieve the set parameters using the GET PARAMETER statement. The most frequent use of SPA/GPA parameters is to fill input fields on screens.
    ABAP Memory
ABAP memory is a memory area that all ABAP programs within the same internal session can access using the EXPORT and IMPORT statements. Data within this area remains intact during a whole sequence of program calls. To pass data to a program which you are calling, the data needs to be placed in ABAP memory before the call is made. The internal session of the called program then replaces that of the calling program. The program called can then read from the ABAP memory. If control is then returned to the program which made the initial call, the same process operates in reverse.
A simple example of ABAP memory is using the EXPORT/IMPORT statements.
Here in this program, I get the data, export it to memory,
clear out the internal table in my progam, then reimport the data into it and write out the data.
You probably wounldn't do this in a normal program,
but this is how you can pass data from program a to program b when A Submits program B.
    report zxy_0002 .
data: it001 type table of t001 with header line.
    select * into table it001 from t001.
    export it001 = it001 to memory id 'ZXY_TEST'.
    clear it001. refresh it001.
    import it001 = it001 from memory id 'ZXY_TEST'.
    loop at it001.
    write:/ it001-bukrs, it001-butxt.
    endloop.
    SAP Memory
SAP memory is a memory area to which all main sessions within a SAPgui have access.
You can use SAP memory either to pass data from one program to another within a session,
or to pass data from one session to another.
Application programs that use SAP memory must do so using SPA/GPA parameters (also known as SET/GET parameters).
These parameters can be set either for a particular user
or for a particular program using the SET PARAMETER statement.
Other ABAP programs can then retrieve the set parameters using the GET PARAMETER statement.
The most frequent use of SPA/GPA parameters is to fill input fields on screens
    ABAP/4 Memory
ABAP memory is a memory area that all ABAP programs within the same internal session can access
using the EXPORT and IMPORT statements.
Data within this area remains intact during a whole sequence of program calls. To pass data
to a program which you are calling,
the data needs to be placed in ABAP memory before the call is made.
The internal session of the called program then replaces that of the calling program.
The program called can then read from the ABAP memory.
If control is then returned to the program which made the initial call, the same process operates in reverse.
    SAP memory
The SAP memory, otherwise known as the global memory,
is available to a user during the entire duration of a terminal session.
Its contents are retained across transaction boundaries as well as external and internal sessions.
The SET PARAMETER and GET PARAMETER statements allow you to write to, or read from, the SAP memory.
    ABAP/4 memory
The contents of the ABAP/4 memory are retained only during the lifetime of an external session
(see also Organization of Modularization Units).
You can retain or pass data across internal sessions.
The EXPORT TO MEMORY and IMPORT FROM MEMORY statements allow you to write data to, or read data from, the ABAP memory.

  • Difference between PI/XI interface and ABAP interface

    Hello Experts,
We are in the process of identifying interfaces for our current client. I am looking for some documentation or any specific information that will help me to differentiate between SAP PI interface and ABAP Interface. Basically I want to know what are the advantages of PI interface over ABAP interface. What is better? and why?
Any information would be of great help. Thanks.

PI (versus point to point ABAP) advantages are:
    1)     Centralized control over data security
    2)     More effective (centralized) interface failure monitoring and resolution
    3)     Elimination of redundant development and maintenance costs

    hi
    Object Oriented prg
A programming technique in which solutions reflect real world objects
    What are objects ?
An object is an instantiation of a class. E.g. If “Animal” is a class, A cat
can be an object of that class .
With respect to code, Object refers to a set of services ( methods /
attributes ) and can contain data
    What are classes ?
A class defines the properties of an object. A class can be instantiated
    as many number of times
    Advantages of Object Orientated approach
Easier to understand when the system is complex
    Easy to make changes
Encapsulation - Can restrict the visibility of the data ( Restrict the access to the data )
Polymorphism - Identically named methods behave differently in different classes
Inheritance - You can use an existing class to define a new class
Polymorphism and inheritance lead to code reuse

  • Role Mapping For Portal Role Assignment and ABAP Role Assignment

    Summary:
    - Under the GRC configuration of Roles> Role Mapping we are trying to utilize the  role mapping feature in GRC for associating a dependent role to a main role.
    - We want to use this role mapping feature for the purposes of adding an Enterprise Portal role for every ABAP role that gets approved for the user in an ABAP component system (i.e. ECC, BW, CRM etc). We will have a 1:1 mapping of Enterprise Portal role to ABAP role defined in the role mapping section in GRC.
    - We want to set up the workflow in such a way that the main role (ABAP role) is the only role that needs to be approved. The dependent role (Enterprise Portal role) should be added or not added based on the approval or denial of the main role (ABAP role). In other words if the role owner for the abap role approves the abap role, then both the abap and EP role will be provisioned by GRC and if the role owner rejects/denies the role, then neither the abap or EP role will be provisioned by GRC.
    Problem Description:
    Our Scenarios we tested:
    Scenario 1:
Main Role:  Attached to Initiator A & workflow A (routes to single approver based on role)
Dependent Role:  Attached to Initiator B & workflow B (routes to auto approval or no approval)
*Problem with the Scenario 1setup above, the dependent role will always get approved & provisioned regardless of the approval or denial of the main role.
    Scenario 2:
Main Role:  Attached to Initiator A & workflow A (routes to single approver based on role)
Dependent Role:  Attached to Initiator A & workflow A(routes to single approver (same as main approver) based on role)
*Problem with the Scenario 2 setup above, the dependent role will always also need to get approved by the same approver as main role and it opens the possibility that the approver may accidently approve the main role and deny the dependent role, which is not the ideal setup as we inherit the risk of human error.
    Questions:
    1. Does the dependent role need to be defined in an initiator at all since it will never directly be requested directly?
    2.  If the dependent role does need to be in the initiator file, please describe how to properly setup the initiator and workflow stage & path so that we can maintain the desired relationship with the main role approval dependency? (if the role owner for the main role approves the main role, then both the main role and dependent role will be provisioned by GRC and if the role owner rejects/denies the main role, then neither the main role or depedent role will be provisioned by GRC

    I tested this set up.
    1.  Defined ABAP role as Manin role
    2.  Defined Non-ABAP role as dependednt role
    3. ABAP role  is set up in initiator requiring business approval.
    4.  Non-ABAP role is set up in initiator with no approval required.
Results Where Business Approver approves the ABAP Role
    1. Only the ABAP role is displayed in approver view which is desirable.
    2.  ABAP role is approved and Non-ABAP role and ABAP role is provisioned.
Results Where Business Approver rejects the ABAP Role
    1. Only the ABAP role is displayed in approver view which is desirable.
    2.  ABAP role is rejected but  Non-ABAP role is provisioned which is not what we want.  We want the Non-ABAP role not to provision if the ABAP role is rejected by the business approval.
    Thanks again for your help.
