[Solved] ALSA Wont Play If More Than One Device Has Access To It

This just started happening about two weeks ago and its really annoying. It seems that whenever one program has previously used the sound system no other applications can use the sound system until that initial program is closed. For example, lets say I watched a video on youtube an hour ago and the video is done playing but I still have the page open, amarok (v1.4) or a video player (smplayer/kaffeine/etc...) complains either that xine is in use of it cant find drivers for it or something of that sort. It gets even weirder:I was watching a video on the internet about 2 hours ago and wanted to watch a movie so I closed firefox knowing it would cause this problem and clicked 'save session and quit', I reopened firefox with the same session but I closed the webpage with the video on it, so I go to watch a tv off of my hdd but I dont have any sound since this video apparently still has a lease on the sound system.
heres the errors from mplayer while this problem is happening:

I recently bought a new Creative Zen Nano Plus and thought I was getting a good reliable product. It synced in WMP like it should but when I unplugged it from my computer and tried to listen to the songs it will boot up and start playing a song but then shut off 3 seconds later. I formatted it and updated the firmware and drivers on the player and my computer but it still wont play for more than a few seconds at a time. I tried changing the battery and leaving it plugged in but neither of the above worked. I would appreciate some help. Thanks.

That's correct - it only deletes them from your phone, not from iCloud
If you go into Settings, Music and set Show All Music to Off, you will only see the songs that are actually on the phone.
One other tip - once you've deleted the songs/lists you no longer want, restart the phone (hold the Home and Sleep buttons for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears) to make sure the songs are gone.

The goal is for my wife to be able to watch her Korean TV soap operas on her MacBook and still receive a call on her iPhone 4 via a stereo bluetooth headset.
I was looking at the Motorola S10-HD but after further review saw that it only pairs with one device at a time.
Appreciate any and all input. My Googling has returned no results.

You can only pair one device at a time to your 8330, or any other phone for that matter. The "pairings" are saved to the phone, you can use one or the other and you won't have to pair it again. Once you turn your bluetooth device on and the phone is on, they will find each other again.

... but these may or may not work. Try it, and if you cannot get anywhere at least now you know what to ask Telus to do in return for your business.

I connected by AE to my cable modem at my house in Japan and it works fine on "bridge mode," but only for one device at a time (this laptop, but not my iPod Touch, or vice versa). As soon as I connect a new device, it will kick the other one off. It seems that my cable modem here will only allow one device. It would be best if you "hard reset" the Airport Extreme to clear out the old and conflicting settings and then reconfigure it again.
Hold in the reset button until you see the amber light begin to blink more quickly. Keep holding for another 3-4 seconds when you see this and then release the reset button. That will get the Extreme back to the original starting point.
After you have powered the modem back up after the full reset, you will need to reconfigure the AirPort Extreme again. If you are using he guided setup in AirPort Utility, you will choose the option to "create a wireless network" during the setup.
If you are using the Manual Setup, the Wireless Mode will be "Create a wireless network" and the setting for Connection Sharing would be "Share a public IP address". Adjusting the Connection Sharing setting would be the last thing that you do before you click Update to save settings.

I assume these are POP accounts and all computers are set to remove from Server after downloading.
So on the non dominant ones... Mail Preferences>Accounts, highlight an account, Advanced tab, uncheck remove from Server, just have the main dominant one remove from server.
Or get/setup IMAP accounts.

In itunes it is called syncing and you can choose exactly what content to sync to all devices and it can be different for all of them

Airport disconnects when there's more than one device

I've got a really weird problem.. I have an Apple Airport Extreme 802.11n 3rd Generation. Software version 7.6 When more than one device connecrts to the base station it will disconnect everyone and then all devices will go into a connect/disconnect loops. Rapidly. This occurs only with wireless device. I watched the radar on my iPhone (5.1), Macbook running Snow Leopard, Macbook Air running Lion, and iPad 2 (5.1) blinking on and off, on and off. The only way to resolve this is to just have ONE person connect at a time.
Things I've tried:
1) Updating all software on all devices
2) Updating Airport firmware
3) Reboot and then restoring factory settings on the Airport when the reboot didn't work
4) Turning off encryption (WP2)
5) Making sure there are enough IP's for all the devices, turning off robustness, making sure the router is visible.
Because I know someone will ask this: The Airport sits atop a credenza in the open air. Nothing on, around, or above it. It's been in this position for months with no problem. It's not overly warm to the touch and I even used compressed air to blow out the vents (just in case) when this problem began.
I read once upon a time that the router gets a cache built up and that can cause these types of issues, but I have no idea how to delete said cache or even if it exists. It's just odd this only happens when more than one wireless device tried to connect to the network.
Thoughts?

I've resolved this! For some odd reason Apple won't let me denote this so I'm adding this reply. Turns out the problem was POWER related. The Airport was plugged into a power strip with several other devices. I unplugged all of those leaving just the Airport and the problem has not returned. If I add on all the devices, regardless of the power strip used, the problem returns. So it appears the Airport was just not getting enough power.
I've got it on a UPS now and the problem has not returned.

I just bought an Airport Express 2 gen from a friend and I have two issues: I tried to reset it to factory settings and could not do it. Tried holding the reset button for 10 secs, unplugging and plugging back in while holding the reset button, holding the button for a longer time and nothing worked. I had no choice but to create another network. Once created, I can't connect more than one device. If I have my MacAir hooked up the network and I try to get my Ipad in, the minute I type the network pass in my Ipad, a screen pops up where I have to log in with my internet provider account. When I do that, it will connect, but my MacAir will disconnect automatically.
Appreciate any help!

Things are a bit different with the 2nd Gen AirPort Express and other newer AirPorts.
A Factory Default Reset is now the same as what was previously known as a "Hard Reset".
Power up the AirPort Express and let it run a few minutes.
Hold in the reset button on the Express for 10 seconds
Release the reset button and allow a full minute for the Express to restart to a slow, blinking amber light
If the Express is operating correctly, it will be back to factory default settings at this time.
If you try the reset a few times and the Express will not return to default settings, the Express is defective.
