[SOLVED]Amarok 2.0.2 Play/Pause Global Shortcut Does Not Work Properly

Hello everyone,
Just a quick question tonight. I have the global shortcut for Play/Pause in Amarok set to Ctrl+` which works in the sense that it causes Amarok to play. However, the problem is that it does not actually Pause the music, it merely resets to the beginning of the playing song. Any ideas on what could cause this? I've tried setting it to a different shortcut with the same end result. I'm using KDEmod 4.2.1.

There are two different events, Play, that is what you use, and Play/Pause (IIRC, I'm at work now, cannot check it). Search for the other hotkey in the list, and set that to ctrl+`.
PS: the problem with that will be, that if Amarok is stopped (not paused), this hotkey will not start playing, it merely pauses/unpauses, so you will need another hotkey to initiate playing.

I think it would be a good idea to take apart the keyboard, or some of it, to determine if the keys are obstructed somehow. Some information on the supported method of cleaning the keyboard is mentioned in this document: Cleaning your Notebook PC
If this does not resolve the issue, I would reinstall Windows on the computer. The issue at this point would be software related, to some unknown extent. A recovery will address any software issue. First, make sure you backup everything you need to. Here is some information on how to do this: Backing Up Your Files
Once this is done, it is safe to reinstall the computer. Here is some additional information on how to do this properly: Performing an HP System Recovery

I think your Ipod is already hung up. Try press the menu and the center button at the same time for about 5-8 seconds and your Ipod will be ok.

Pavilion G7-1070us play/ pause button on keyboard not working

My pavilion G7 has been a great computer for me but now it has started to experience a problem. The Play/pause button on the keyboard (f7 key) does not play or pause the music.
I have the pavilion G7-1070us with windows 7.

Why ipod random play on single trax does not work.

Have you ever wondered why when you random play your IPOD instead of getting an interesting and varied musical experience you just get an uneven mess .
You need random play because its the only way to get from beginning to end with such a wide and varied collection but it comes out a mess.
But if you have the complete album on 1 file afte2 20 minutes you are board and have probably switched off . Weve found a solution which Kate Bush has recently endorsed on BBC radio 2 . If you want to find out more about transforming your mp3 collection please try out this link.

Im quite happy to answer any question from people who want to transform their album collection .

The IPOD has huge capacity - 30 to 60 gig so to give the listener a wide range of music -approx 2500 albums . This means you have a wide music choice pop, jazz, classical so the only way to play it all is to random play it but the listening experience is an uneven mess . If albums are compiled as lp-sides of approx 20 minutes any 1 hour of play gets 20 mins of a consistent musical theme then a complete change . Please check out my site for more details:

[SOLVED] NetworkManager does not work properly

I have invoked systemd-networkd. But when I start NetworkManager, the ip address is lost and the connections (both wired and wireless) displayed on NetworkManager try to connect for a while then automatically closed. It seems there are some conflicts. I want to use NetworkManager because within Gnome Desktop environment, it is convenient to manager network connections. Have anyone ever encountered this problem?

Interesting. Usually multiple network services will prevent each other from working, but it sounds like systemd-networkd serves other purposes. Good to know!

What can I do to solve 3G service that does not work properly on iPad3?

Hi, I have problem with my new iPad3. the thing is that 3G service does not work properly, while Edge service is ok. I realize that it is not because of my Sim, but the device itself. What can I do? any idea? thank in advance.

I wish it was that. When I turn on 3G, the signal is full. Then, when I connect internet using 3G, its signal turn to 2G, Searching, No service, searching, and finally go back to 3G agian. This happen every minute although I tried to move to a hight 3G signal.

Yes, I did try with Xperia Z3 and it works fine for me. If you have tried safe mode, you should perhaps try a software repair on your phone via PC Companion to see if this can help:

In PC Companion you press start on Support Zone > Start on Update the phone/tablet software > Repair phone/tablet (the blue clickable link in the message) > Follow these steps without having your device connected to the PC.
Follow the instruction that appears in the program and do not connect your device until this guide tells you how to connect it.

My Bose SIE2i volume control does not work. (pause/play does work). This is the secone set - the apple store in Sydney replaced the firsat set that had the same problem. It was working OK and has stopped.

Thanks again V.K. I did check the layout, and it was listed as alphabet when I inputted the password. So that doesn't seems to the the issue.
Just finished a truly mystifying experiment, but I put in a shorter password in the way mentioned earlier and it worked. I then systematically kept increasing the characters of that password and it seems that if the password starts to exceed about 16, it stops recognizing it. I am fairly sure it is not the password itself since it never gives an error when typing in the verification password. So unless I systematically make the exact mistake twice at the setup screen, and then don't or make a different mistake every time at the login screen, I don't think its my typing skill.
So problem solved for now, but I am still a bit worried. Maybe I should completely reinstall and use a shorter password.

The Game Center app is pre installed and cannot be removed from the device.
Best thing to do is move it to the last available screen.
Hold down the Game Center app until all the apps jiggle then sliide the Game Center app to the right from one screen to the next. This requires a bit of finesse, but it's doable.
Press the Home button one time to stop the apps from jiggling.
For the Apple ID issue, try resetting.
Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
Then try your Apple ID and password for the Game Center app.

Pause/Power Off function not working..

I received my new 60GB Video Ipod yesterday. However the puase button does not work when listening to music or watching a video.
Also to power it off I have to use menu, then ensure no music is playing, switch to hold then it powers off itself after a few minutes. Holding the pause.play button does not power off the unit.
I have tried loading the latest firmware and that does not fix.
Is this a faulty ipod????

It isn't one of the problems associated with the 1.1 updater.
Try resetting your iPod and then call Apple for repairs/replacement.
Reset your iPod.
1) Slide the lock button to ON.
2) Slide the lock button to OFF.
3) Press 'menu' and 'centre' button together for several seconds.

Assigned F key to play an action does not work to play the action on an image. When the F key is selected it seams to control computer attributes rather than the play action assigned in photoshop. Why? Using cs6 iMac and wireless key board.

Plug and play speakers not working properly after upgrading to Windows 8.1

After upgrading to Windows 8.1, my plug and play speakers do not work properly. I have uninstalled and reinstalled them, and restarted. When I try to play music, nothing comes out. If I turn them off and back on, music will play for approximately 30 seconds, only from one speaker, then it turns off and fades to no sound. They worked fine until I upgraded to Windows 8.1. The manufacturer has not been able to successfully assist me. Has anyone else reported a similar issue after upgrading OS software? Any suggestions? These are fairly new speakers, less than 2 years old, and not used very much. I do have them installed via a K-V switch, and all other devices linked to the K-V switch are functioning properly (monitor and wireless keyboard). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
