[Solved] "An unknown error" with yaourt

Hi,
I'm reinstalling Arch 2010.05 to my ThinkPad,
Everything is working fine but AUR...
When I try to install package, en error occures as below.
It happens on all AUR packages.
Just a week ago, they were all installable though...
Any idea or workaround?
$ yaourt -Sy PACKAGE_NAME
==> Edit PKGBUILD ? [Y/n] ("A" to abort) N
==> Continue building shorewall ? [Y/n] Y
==> Building and installing package
==> ERROR: An unknown error has occurred. Exiting...
==> ERROR: Makepkg was unable to build PACKAGE_NAME.
Thank you.

I've found a workaround.
vi /etc/makepkg.conf
# Original # BUILDENV=(fakeroot !distcc color !ccache)
# Modified # BUILDENV=(fakeroot !distcc !color !ccache)
It's working perfectly fine.
Not certain for root cause though...

  • Getting "unknown error" with Desktop backup on Blackberry 9000

    My first blackberry ever(Bold) and loving it. I have on issue that I can't figure out and involves performing a backup using the Blackberry Desktop. It starts to run, but when progress gets to "Bluetooth Options" it stops with popup saying "Unknown Error". I have reinstall the s/w, also deleted the bluetooth headset that I had paired. Still not luck and always fails at the same point.
    Desktop s/w is latest at 4.6.0.12 from May 2008.
    I received the phone on Monday last week and was able to get one backup done on Wednesday. Since then I have been setup on the company BES server(not sure if this created my problem). Otherwise, I don't know what to try next.
    Hope someone can help.
    Thanks

    I would suggest you use the clean uninstall link and downloading 4.5. It has proved very stable with XP I use it.
    I would strongly advise against loading the media manager though, It is less that stable software. I take it you know where to download 4.5?

  • Unknown Error with JCop Tools 3.1.2

    Hello All ,
    I am using Eclipse program to create a javacard applet...
    But there is a unknown Problem appears to me ..I don't know how to solve it.
    First of All ,
    My OS is Windows 7 x64 bit
    My java version is : 1.6
    My Eclipse version is : 3.2
    My Smart Card Reader is : Omnikey ,CardMan 5321
    So First of All , i added the plugin "JCOP tools 3.1.2" to the Eclipse program , and i activated the tools successfully.
    and i created a new javacard project by using Basic Javacard template
    Now when i want to Run ,
    SO i when i set the Run options to Card Reader , and set the card reader to "OmniKey"
    like this image:
    [Image 1|http://img85.imageshack.us/img85/1158/runx.jpg]
    -By the way , i don't understand where "Philps Pegoda Reader" came from?? -
    Then when i press Run , the Eclipse program will be closed and this error appears:
    [Error Image|http://img135.imageshack.us/img135/2926/errorevs.jpg]
    I am not sure what is the problem ... so please some one help me here...
    Thank you for your time
    Edited by: ahmed30 on May 25, 2010 8:44 AM

    Hi,
    The pegoda reader is the default reader that has hard coded support (like JCOP engineering sample cards). I would say this is because NXP was founded by Phillips.
    I cannot help you with the second issue. I have only used JCOP 3.1.2 for a short time (quite a while ago now) and reverted to 3.1.1.b as 3.1.2 did not add any new features and from memory did not work properly on my WIndows XP machine (32-bit). I can confirm that 3.1.1 works on XP 64-bit under a 32-bit JVM.
    Is the issue when running against a card or the simulator or both?
    You could try running the jcop.exe executable in the plugins\com.ibm.bluez.jcop.eclipse_<version>\simuls\nJCOP\win32\x86 directory from a command prompt to see if it is an issue with Eclipse/Java or the JCOP simulator.
    Cheers,
    Shane

  • [SOLVED] Pacman Dependency error with nouveau-dri and libgl

    I am upgrading my system with
    sudo pacman -Syu
    The out put is as follows:
    :: Synchronizing package databases...
    testing is up to date
    core is up to date
    extra is up to date
    community is up to date
    :: Starting full system upgrade...
    resolving dependencies...
    looking for inter-conflicts...
    error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
    :: nouveau-dri: requires libgl=7.10.1
    It seems that the newest libgl is 7.10.2-1, while the newest nouveau-dri(7.10.1-2) requires 7.10.1-1. An upgrade operation will upgrade the libgl from 7.10.1-1 to 7.10.2-1, which result in a conflict with nouveau-dri.
    Is there any workaround? Do I have to wait for the nouveau-dri update?
    THANKS!

    Thanks @ngoonee !
    It turns out that this is because the mirror (mirrors.163.com/archlinux) I am using is broken. It is holding <libgl 7.10.2-1> without <nouveau-dri 7.10.1-2> and simultaneously. I changed to http://mirrors.kernel.org/archlinux/ and the problem solves.
    You're welcome. The mirror is/was probably just affected by a partial sync (the letter l is earlier than n ).
    Yeah, that's a quite reasonable explaination :-)

  • Has anyone gotten an unknown error with the code "-1" when updating their iPhone 4 to iOS 6.1.3?

    I have received the same error while updating me phone for the last two updates and have had to wipe out my entire phone with a restore both times! I am very frustrated with Apple.

    Error 1 or -1
    This may indicate a hardware issue with your device. Follow Troubleshooting security software issues, and restore your device on a different known-good computer. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.

I've tried 'pacman -Ss'  for various libraries and drivers like in the other threads, but there doesn't appear to be anything I'm missing. Also, the game isn't in the appdb, so I can't look there for help.
    I'm figuratively flying blind, from newbiness and from lack of understandable, so any more experience with random failures like this would be appreciated.
    Help?
    Edit: Oh, and if you're wondering why I don't just compile from source, it's because that version always crashes halfway through the game; I'll be copying my saves from that version to this one if I get it running.

    You'd better choose to build it from the AUR with makepkg and install it with pacman:
    https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/AU … Guidelines
    But nice that you could now play with it.
    Concerning Wine: I didn't see this game in the WineHQ - Wine Application Database
    Maybe it doesn't work with Wine.

    please help me to solve an unknown error code 1015

    1. Close iTunes.
    2. Connect your iPhone to your computer and then launch iTunes.
    3. Turn your iPhone off (hold down the power button at the top of the iPhone).
    4. Then, hold down the sleep/wake button and home button together for EXACTLY 10 SECONDS, then release the sleep/wake button.
    5. Continue to hold down the Home button until a message appears in iTunes telling you an iPhone in recover mode has been detected. When you are in DFU mode your iPhone screen will be completely black. Remember that if you see the restore logo, iTunes logo, or any message on the iPhone screen, you are not in DFU mode but standard Recovery Mode.
    6. Hit the OK message that should popup to restore your phone. Restore as "New".

    I can not download or update any apps. My apple ID comes up and wants me to put in my password. Cancel leads to a box that says unknown error only. I have gotten this for 24 hours. What is going on, and how do I fix it???

    Try signing out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again and see if that works for you.
    Settings>Store>Apple ID - tap your ID and sign out.
    Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
    Sign in again -Settings>Store>Apple ID - sign in.
    If that doesn't work either, reset your iPad and see if that helps.
    Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
