[SOLVED] AWN Lucido.
First, i want to say hello, i'm new here and also i'm new in archlinux (in fact it's my first linux) .
I'm customizing GUI, and i saw that new AWN Lucido style is pretty nice. I wanted to install it but, awn package from official repository doesn't contain Lucido.
I tried to install "avant-window-navigator-bzr" from AUR, but it's buggy, and settings window won't open.
So, where can i get working AWN with Lucido?
I'm using gnome if it does matter.
Thanks in advice, and sorry for my english.

Avant Window Navigator 0.4.1 compiles perfectly, the issue is with a .schema file.
Follow the comments on the AUR page for avant-window-navigator-bzr: http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?I … mments=all
Look for the comment from leprechau, he explains how to solve this.

I've held off posting for a couple of days whilst I searched, but I'm finding nada.
At some point in the past couple of days, awn has stopped working with:
** (avant-window-navigator:20529): CRITICAL **: desktop_agnostic_config_schema_get_metadata_option: assertion 'self != NULL' failed
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
Now, I've had kernel updates, gtk2 & 3 and glib, but rolling them all back doesn't help. Does anyone have any idea what this may relate to?
Using testing, for information.

Hi,
I'll drop the following packages from the [community] repository,
because Avant Window Navigator no longer works with GNOME 3.10
(crashes on startup), upstream is dead, and I can't fix it:
- avant-window-navigator
- awn-extras-applets
- gnome-menus2
- libdesktop-agnostic
If anyone interested in fixing this problem, then check the related bug report:
https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/37226
Recommended alternatives are cairo-dock and docky.

[SORT OF SOLVED] Trash keeps opening with Firefox on AWN!
Yeah, this is really starting to annoy me.
Apparently, :trash is set to open using Firefox when I load it through anything other than a File Manager (Nautilus, Thunar, etc)
I cant seem to remove it either from Firefox's extensions list.
I cant open my trash via AWN in any desktop environment for this very reason, and it's irritating the living daylights out of me. I'm sure it's something in the OS or Firefox that is to blame. What's even stupider is that in gconf-editor, the key under desktop/gnome/url-handlers/trash is set to nautilus %s, so I am completely dumbfounded at why this doesn't work right.
I suspect it's Firefox, and I'd like to see if I can remove the :trash file association from it, I just don't know how to go about this.
Also, when I attempt to access :trash by typing it into PCManFM's location bar, heres what I get
(pcmanfm:11635): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_unref: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed

Something is obviously borked and I'd like to know what it is. I did manage to edit one of the mimetype folders and completely remove :trash links from Firefox, but they still keep trying to open with it anyway, only now they ask me what program I want to use. I just wanna use my trash as normal.
Edit: Apparently docky works just fine, but I've decided against using a dock. I'll figure out the trash myself. Gonna use bmpanel2 for now.

[SOLVED] Why do closed nvidia graphic drivers consume so much RAM?
I'm using nvidia Geforce 7600GT graphic card, and I tried to install nvidia-304xx graphic drivers. Everything went smoothly, but after my system started I saw that there is 4x times more RAM consumption when compared it to nouveau driver. See the following pics:
http://img849.imageshack.us/img849/7117/starto.png
up: nouveau || down: nvidia
http://img35.imageshack.us/img35/148/graphicq.png
left: nouveau || right: nvidia
I've been trying to solve this issue for 2 weeks, but I have no idea why my system consumes almost 400 MiB of RAM when only openbox is started. Compared to debian + full gnome -- 280MiB. Both systems are using the same nvidia driver. I tried even to borrow the kernel from debian and then install the drivers, but this doesn't help. Still apps in the graphic environment consume several times more RAM.
As you can see, having only 1GiB of RAM I can't afford to have 400MiB openbox. Try to think about opening web browser or other apps. xD
Does anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it? I saw similar thread on this forum, but I can't find it anymore, and there was exactly the same situation, or more or less.

I changed some stuff since then, but I had 90 MiB graphic environment (nouveau). Now I have 129.0 MiB (nvidia) -- it's 40 MiB more, but I can live with that. And of course, it is not 300+ MiB.

I commented out the following lines:
# --enable-gl
# --enable-egl
I couldn't compile cairo with --enable-egl , so that's why I removed it too. -
When I try to login to the website of my bank, I get the following error message:
403 - Forbidden: Access is denied.
You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied.
I have a new MacBook Air with OS Yosemite installed.
What is the problem and how can I solve it?Some websites require a special client certficate for access. If you don't have that certficate, you'll have to contact the site operator to find out how to get one.
Sometimes the problem is caused by a web server that is configured to request an optional client certificate. Safari treats the request as mandatory. In that case, other browsers such as Firefox and Chrome may be able to connect to the site, because they ignore the request.
The first time you were prompted for a certificate, you may have clicked through a dialog that requested access to the Apple certificate in your keychain that is used to secure the iMessage service. In that case, you may be able to regain access to the site in Safari by doing as follows.
Back up all data.
Double-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
com.apple.idms.appleid.prd
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.
Paste into the search field in the Keychain Access window by clicking in it and pressing the key combination command-V. An item may appear in the list of keychain items. The Name will begin with string you searched for, and the Kind will be "certificate."
Delete the item by selecting it and pressing the delete key. It will be recreated automatically the next time you launch the Messages or FaceTime application.
The next time you visit a site that prompts for an optional client certificate, cancel out of the prompt. You may have to do this several times before the server stops asking.

When I login to update my existing apps, the login window shows the wrong apple id. i cannot change it because it is all grayed out. how do i solve this problem?
Content and Apple IDs -
Content is forever tied to the Apple ID that bought it. Apple does not transfer content from one Apple ID to another. Apple does not merge Apple IDs. You will never be able to access your content bought with one Apple ID with a new Apple ID.
