[Solved] Bluetooth + Jaybird Bluebuds X - Stream setup failed
Using blueman-applet to control bluetooth devides via Bluez4, i get the following:
Connection Failed: Stream setup failed
I've paired the device, that was successful.
I've added it as a trusted device.
Also made some minor config changes here and there, for instance:
# /etc/bluetooth/audio.conf
Enable=Socket
I've installed pulseaudio and ran the following:
$ pulseaudio --start
$ pactl load-module module-bluetooth-discover
Still doesn't work even thoe the device can be found:
Most guides/issues are reported under Ubuntu, and they solve it by installing pulseaudio-module-bluetooth, however this module comes default with pulseaudio in Arch from what i can tell.

Also for anyone finding this on google and wonders how to switch to the bluetooth?
# nano /etc/asound.conf
defaults.ctl.card 1
defaults.pcm.card 1
pcm.btheadset {
type plug
slave {
pcm {
type bluetooth
device 44:5E:F3:A6:E7:43
profile "auto"
hint {
show on
description "BT Headset"
ctl.btheadset {
type bluetooth
(Where everything except the two first lines are added in my case)
And then we enable this sink in pulseaudio.
$ pactl load-module module-alsa-sink device=btheadset
Then we simply use pavucontrol and enable this output either "globally" or for a particular audio-stream.
Using pulseaudio+alsa

PASSWORDLESS SSH SETUP fails during Grid installation
Hello,
OS and VM setup:
There are 2 base physical Oracle servers ( Model # Oracle SPARC T4-2 , Solaris 11.1 ). On both machine “Oracle VM for SPARC “ software is installed and logical domains are configured with Solaris 11.1. Oracle RAC 2 node cluster is being setup between the Logical Domain in each servers.
Objective:
We are planning to install and configure Oracle RAC 11g R2 (11.2.0.4) on two Oracle VM machines. Pre-installation check script (runcluvfy.sh) on RAC node is completed without errors/warning.
Issue:
During oracle grid infrastructure installation, SSH setup failing and on shell prompt is showing JVM CRASH AT LIB.....
I am not able to proceed with RAC setup due to this issue.
Your suggestions/assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Satellite Pro A200 - Supervisor Password Utility Setup fails
Hello,
I own a Satellite Pro A200-PSAE7E and a retail license for Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit (with SP1) installed on it.
Before installing Vista, I upgraded the BIOS to the most recent version available on the Toshiba site (http://it.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/vista_drivers.jsp?service=IT).
BIOS version is now 2.20-WIN32
After the successful installation of the operating system, I started installing the various drivers and utilities downloading them from the Toshiba site.
When I try to install the "Supervisor Password Utility" the setup fails showing a message box which says "The serial number is invalid".
Same problem with another setup: "Flash Cards Support Utility"
Does anybody know how to solve this problem and which serial number is invalid?
Thanx in advance,
mme000Hi,
You are having the same trouble as other people on these forums.
If you want to fix it yourself, you would need to look at the disk image on the disk that came with your toshiba, figure out which version of the application was included on that, you might be able to find that version on the website for a different model and different country (for instance, on the canadian website, for a totally different computer than my UK computer, i found a version of the flashcards support utility that works with mine.) But i don't think its possible to see what's on the restore disk without instaling it, i.e. wiping everything off your harddrive in the process.
It really is extremely disappointing and frustrating. If anyone knows a way to communicate directly with toshiba about this problem without having to pay some sort of support fee, I would be very interested to hear about it. It seems noone from toshiba actually reads anything from these forum. It seems like a real wasted resource to me....

E-Mail Setup fails to launch on Nokia X6
Hello folks,
On my Nokia X6, when I try to configure an email account using Nokia Messaging, Email setup fails to launch.
I tried configuring from "Messaging" and here after configuring, when I click on "Connect", it doesn't connect.
If I select Settings for an already created mailbox, from "Messaging" --> Options --> Email Setup --> Mailbox --> Google --> Settings, I get the following message "Messaging: Feature not supported".
Please help. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
Solved!
Go to Solution.I myself found the resolution found on other discussion threads,
Do one of the following ( 2nd Option worked for me, Remember to take backup before going with the 2nd option as it erases all contacts)
Try resetting the phone here is codes back up data
start from top and work down
1. *#7780# - Restore factory settings - resets all the settings to the default ( you will not lose any data)
Make sure you back up your data as you will lose all of it when you perform option 2 or 3 on this list. The default code for all operations listed here is 12345
2. *#7370# - Reformat your phone
3. This you perform as a last resort. Nothing else is working. If the phone is not showing any activity, proceed with hard formatting , turn off your phone, hold the following buttons while pressing the power button. (the default code is 12345)
hard reset - hold the following buttons *, 3 (number button) and talk/green key. turn on the phone and do not release those buttons until you see the Nokia boot up screen. once you feel the phone power up you can let go off the power button while still holding all three buttons ( for Nokia 5800XM - use the following buttons to do a hard reset, GREEN/RED/CAMERA keys pressed all at once on power up. this will only work on 5800's that have firmware version 20... and up. ) -
How to solve the issue "CUV check user equivalence failed" ?
Folks,
Hello. I am installing Oracle 11gR2 RAC using 2 VMs (rac1 and rac2) whose OS are Oracle Linux 5.6 in VMPlayer according to the website http://appsdbaworkshop.blogspot.com/2011/10/11gr2-rac-on-linux-56-using-vmware.html
In order to install Grid Infrastructure, we need to run Cluster Utility Verification (CUV) at first by running the cammand below:
[ora11g@rac1 grid]$ ./runcluvfy.sh stage -pre crsinst -n rac1,rac2 -verbose
Its output:
Performing pre-checks for cluster services setup
Check: User equivalence for user “ora11g”
Node Comment
rac1 failed
rac2 failed
Result: PRVF-4007 : User equivalence check failed for user “ora11g”
ERROR:
User equivalence unavailable on all the specified nodes
Verification cannot proceed
Pre-check for cluster services setup was unsuccessful on all the nodes.
As you see above, check user equivalence failed. I have run the 4 commands to fix this error as below:
[ora11g@rac1 /]$ ssh-keygen
Its output:
Generating public/private rsa key pair.
Enter file in which to save the key (/home/grid/.ssh/id_rsa):
Enter passphrase (empty for no passphrase):
Enter same passphrase again:
Your identification has been saved in /home/grid/.ssh/id_rsa.

[ora11g@rac1 .ssh]$ cat *pub >>authorized_keys
[ora11g@rac1 .ssh]$ ssh rac1
Its output:

RSA key fingerprint is 9d:ae:51:7c:72:81:07:37:31:92:f1:c8:90:bc:52:55.
Are you sure you want to continue connecting (yes/no)? yes
Warning: Permanently added ‘rac1′ (RSA) to the list of known hosts.
Write failed: Broken pipe.
[ora11g@rac1 .ssh]$ ssh rac1-priv
Its output:

RSA key fingerprint is 9d:ae:51:7c:72:81:07:37:31:92:f1:c8:90:bc:52:55.
Are you sure you want to continue connecting (yes/no)? yes
Warning: Permanently added ‘rac1-priv,192.168.137.35′ (RSA) to the list of known hosts.

After run the 4 commands above, I run the command below again:
[ora11g@rac1 grid]$ ./runcluvfy.sh stage -pre crsinst -n rac1,rac2 -verbose
Its output is the same:
PRVF-4007 : User equivalence check failed for user “ora11g”
ERROR:
User equivalence unavailable on all the specified nodes
Verification cannot proceed
I think the problem is "Broken pipe" and ssh cannot write authorized_keys to the machines.
My question is:
Do any folk understand how to solve the issue CUV "check user equivalence failed" for 2 VMs ?
Thanks.Folks,
Hello. Thanks a lot for replying.
I have installed Grid Infrastructure a few times. Each time, on step 7 of 9, the installer fixes and checks 2 machines correctly. The entire installation has 3 parts as below:
1) Install Grid Infrastructure for a Cluster
2) Execute Root Scripts for Install Grid Infrastructure for a Cluster (script is root.sh)
3) Configure Oracle Grid Infrastructure for a Cluster that includes NCA, ASMCA, PICA and CVU.
Each time, on step 8 of 9, the Installer installs Grid Infrastructure for a Cluster successfully that includes "Prepare, Copy files, Link binaries, Setup files and Perform remote operations".
But when the Installer get to part 3 CVU, it fails and then the Database cannot be installed.
Deinstall Grid is a very complicated process to do. Because of this reason, we need to run CVU at first to make sure everything is correct for 2 machines before install Grid.
Even we ignore "user equivalence (ssh)", we don't know whether other items can be passed or not because CVU cannot proceed to check the machines.
My question is:
How to have the script "runcluvfy.sh" continue to check the machines while confronting "user equivalence failed" ? -
gc_w01_enu_nb.exe extracts to 100% but setup fails instantly in winxp pro
I'm trying to install the full featured driver for my psc-1315xi on two WinXP Pro PCs.
The first one worked perfectly.
On the second one, when I run the downloaded exe, I get the "Extracting" message, but when it goes up to 100%, the setuup window never opens. And no error messages are displayed. I poked around and found a log file that was produced. It includes the following:
GetValueByLang( f->c_str(), _T(Version), _T(LanguagesInthisCD) failed
System LangID = 1033. mapped to ENU
## The system language is ENU, but it isn't on our CD!
## We couldn't figure out a language to use, and are returning FALSE from CICECmdLine::GetLanguage()!
## GetValueByLang( f->c_str(), _T(Version), _T(LanguagesInthisCD) failed
Setup returning 1603
Any help would be appreciated.
This question was solved.
View Solution.I think I may have solved this problem.
I have a Windows XP Pro (SP3) PC that was experiencing this issue.
Immediately after the "extracting" window went to 100% and closed, nothing happened. The software installer/setup windows never displayed.
Each time I tried it created a log file that started with this:
Parsed command line: ".\Setup.exe"
Using datfile: C:\DOCUME~1\xxxxx\LOCALS~1\Temp\7zS1293\autorun.inf
## GetValueByLang( f->c_str(), _T(Version), _T(LanguagesInthisCD) failed
System LangID = 1033. mapped to ENU
## The system language is ENU, but it isn't on our CD!
There were other error messages after that, but they all stem from lines 3 and 5.
Something was preventing the setup program from recognizing that the ENU language files ARE present in this download.
By comparing two PCs, one with the problem, and one that worked just fine, I saw that the one that was failing had AutoRun disabled via a registry setting. I temporarily removed this from the registry on the PC that was failing and the setup launched and ran like it was supposed to. Here are the first few of that log file from the same PC, a few minutes later, where the only difference was that I had removed the offending registry setting:
Parsed command line: ".\Setup.exe"
Using datfile: C:\DOCUME~1\xxxxx\LOCALS~1\Temp\7zS1293\autorun.inf
System LangID = 1033. mapped to ENU
We are using the system language=ENU, which is on our CD!
As you can see, the "(LanguagesInthisCD) failed" message (Line 3) has disappeared, and line 5 (now line 4) shows that it succeeded in recognizing that the ENU language setup files are present.
So, if you are experiencing this problem and you are comfortable working with the system registry, here's how I got it to work on my PC:
Start regedit
Navigate down this tree
-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
- - SOFTWARE
- - - Microsoft
- - - - Windows NT
- - - - - CurrentVersion
- - - - - - IniFileMapping
Below that, look to see if there is a key named "Autorun.inf"
On my PC (the one with this problem) the value for this key was "@SYS: DoesNotExist"
If your registry has this also, it may be the cause of your problem.
In the left pane of regedit, right click on Autorun.inf and select "Rename" from the popup menu.
Change the name to something like "Autorun.inf.hold"
Close regedit
At this point I rebooted my PC, but I don't know if that it actually required.
I ran the downloaded driver file. It extracted, and the setup program started like it was supposed to.
When that was done, I went back into regedit and renamed "Autorun.inf.hold" back to "Autorun.inf"
This was enormously frustrating for me, and (if you need it), I hope this solution works for you. -
The wizard fails with: windows setup failed to open distribution share d:\ds (..etc)
I am running it from a USB disk that has over 4GB free space, all the other files and folders are shown in the DS folder ok
Please advise what i should do here?
Does the drive need to be a certain format? its FAT32 at the moment (not NTFS, so no security)
I have tried copying the contents of the wes7-ibw iso to another USB drive and the same thing happens.I solved it : setup failed to open distribution share d:\ds ... error 0x8007000 /0x8007003
the cause I assume there is something strange about the CD file format on that disk.
I first created a bootable usb (diskpart) then as i didnt had software to do it all in once
i converted the original CD to iso, and used other software to burn an ISO as bootable CD on usb.
( i used iso to usb for that its free )
i ve tried it with the usb as fat32 and (using convert converted fat32 to NTFS (stayed bootable).
I even tried different hard disks no difference same error.
Each time same error.
Then in the end i noticed the folder content of the DS folder on USB and CD wasn't equally.
So then i copied directories one by one over their existing USB counterparts
After that it worked...
Maybe the CD isnt folowing some CDrom standards, or uses a rarely used format; not wel recognized by common CDrom tools -

But after whole setup and starting Apply and capture capture process goes for hours, not replicated at destination database. Normally how fast is replcation when done for small db like scott on table emp.

How to Cancel Photo Stream Setup
It appears that the only way to cancel Photo Stream Setup is to pull out the power cable. Not even an on-off switch available. What genius designed this brilliant piece of UI? Or am I'm the genius failing to find the obvious?
DaveIf you delete the photos that are on Camera Roll, your Photo Stream photos won't be modified on your PC. However, if you delete them from Photo Stream, they will be deleted from the PC.
To keep your photos on your PC, go to Photo Stream folder on the PC (you will see it on Windows Explorer's sidebar) and copy all the photos to another folder -
K320 Factory Default Setup Failed at Startup.
Hi there,
I have some questions about K320 IDEACENTRE factory default pre-load setup.
The PC desktop shipped with 1 HDD for 1TB with 2 partitions; C & D drives.
1. I've increased C drive partition disk space from 50GB to 100 GB.
2. And created another hidden partition 100GB for my Acronis Secure Zone.
I run factory default pre-load setup at PC startup, but there was an error message prompted something like “Detect wrong architecture"; the setup failed.
Can someone assist me?
Thank you in advanced.
Kind regards,
Dins
Singapore End-User.Hi,
Assuming this is just a problem with the recovery process, here's an alternative option you could try - if nothing else, it'll help to rule out a Hardware issue and if successful, will give you a working installation of Windows 7.
Before trying the following, make sure you can still read the 25 Character Product Activation key on your Windows COA label ( 5 blocks of 5 alpha/numeric sets ).
An example of a COA Label can be seen Here.
Note: Depending on the Model No. of your Envy notebook, the COA label may be under the removable bottom cover.
You can create an installation disc yourself using another PC - just download the correct Disc Image ( this must be the same version that originally came with your notebook ) from the link below and use an application such as ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly to a blank DVD - a guide on using ImgBurn to write an ISO to a disc is Here. These Images are clean and from a well-respected source, however there are only limited versions available.
Windows-7 sp1-iso-official-32-bit-and-64-bit
Use the disc to perform the installation, enter the Windows activation key found on the COA Label when requested and when the installation has completed, use the 'Phone Method' detailed in the link below to activate the OS - this method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who just want a clean installation of Windows 7 without the additional software load normally bundled with OEM installations.
http://www.kodyaz.com/articles/how-to-activate-windows-7-by-phone.aspx
Any additional drivers and software you may need can be found by entering either the full Model No. or Product No. Here.

DP-K

I have photo stream setup on iPhoto on my MacBook Pro and on 2 new iPhones that have the same AppleID as the MacBook Pro. However only one iPhone will stream photos to iPhoto on the MacBook Pro. All these devices were purchased in the last 2 weeks. What setting is wrong?
Photostream only syncs photos over Wi-Fi, make sure you are connected to Wi-Fi to begin with.
Photostream only syncs when the camera app is closed, ensure it is closed.
Photostream only syncs when the battery is above 20%, try recharging the device
Try disabling photo stream on your device (settings > iCloud), restarting your device and then re-enabling photo stream.
If this doesn't help you may need to reset photo stream. You can do this at icloud.com by clicking on your name in the top right corner and then the advanced settings in the pop-up dialogue box that appears.
Note: disabling photostream and re-enabling it will result in any photos that are currently in the photostream album on your device, that are older than 30 days old, not being added back. -

Hi!
I have tried to install sdk 1_3_1_01 on Windows 2000 with ServicePack 2 and the error "Java 2 runtime Environment setup failed with a return code of -1" occured. As I saw, a lot of people has the problem but couldn't find a solution on this page!
Please help !
MeI've installed 1.3.1_01 on both W2K Workstation and Server, no problem. There's a bug report, but no workaround or solution.
http://developer.java.sun.com/developer/bugParade/bugs/4412291.html
and it's supposedly 'fixed' in 1.4.0 beta.

Trying to add metadata to a live stream completely fails
Hi. I've been following this document http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flashmediaserver/devguide/WS5b3ccc516d4fbf351e63e3d11a0773d56e -7ff6Dev.html for adding metadata to an FMS live stream from a Flash widget.
I've created a stripped-down version of the code (listed below); the same as the original code except the controls are removed. It works fine only if I comment out the ns.send calls. If I leave in the ns.send calls, no clients are ever able to view anything. I'm using a stock FMS 4.5 install on Amazon EC2 -- the AMI is ami-904f08c2. And I'm compiling the swf using Flex SDK 4.6 on Linux with the command "mxmlc -compiler.library-path+=./playerglobal11_0.swc -swf-version=13 -static-link-runtime-shared-libraries Broadcaster.as".
