[SOLVED]can not get steam to work.

Question

Hi!
It seems like my steam install from the official repo will not start at all.
plus, it nearly says nothing at all

shell-init: error retrieving current directory: getcwd: cannot access parent directories: No such file or directory
chdir: error retrieving current directory: getcwd: cannot access parent directories: No such file or directory

Running Steam on arch 64-bit
STEAM_RUNTIME is enabled automatically
Installing breakpad exception handler for appid(steam)/version(0_client)
it just hangs here, it does nothing that I can see
I have searched all over the google, for hours. Actually, more like half a day thanks to this problem.
If you need additional info, please, let me know
(I do not know what else you would need to help me with this problem, due to this error message being so strange and I have never seen it before)

multilib/lib32-nvidia-340xx-libgl 340.76-1 [installed]
NVIDIA drivers libraries symlinks (32-bit)
multilib/lib32-nvidia-340xx-utils 340.76-1 [installed]
NVIDIA drivers utilities (32-bit)

this happened to me once because I installed the proprietary drivers without restarting before trying to run steam.
also check the ownership of your ~/.steam folder and your ~/.local/share/Steam folders
And make sure 32 bit drivers
edit: added command if you didn't know it

well, I will try to restart as well, it might be something like that prolly, only because my comp wanna mess with me as usual x'D
hmm, how do I check the ownership in a terminal? :3
Edit:
I checked in Dolphin, but I am still curious how to do it in a terminal
I do have ownership of both of them
