[SOLVED] Can only open X as root - can't read a file in /tmp/

Question

xkbcomp reports:
Error: cannot close "/tmp/server-0.kbm" properly (not enough space?)
(...) #Some stuff here
Error: couldn't compile keymap
XKB: Failed to compile keymap
Keyboard initialization failed. This could be a missing or incorrect setup of xkeyboard-config.
df /tmp/
Use: 100%
I "rm -rf'd" /tmp/, and recreated it, but right after df /tmp, said "Use: 100%".
How can I reopen X, or *truly* clean /tmp/?

As root, it works, but I really shouldn't run X as root, and I need to fix this, thank you!

I've been running X as non-root for a few weeks now, it always worked. Only now it only works as root.
Also, I thought I had fixed this last night, because I re-compiled cairo-xcb from source to match new libpng update. It worked after, but now it's not working again.
