[SOLVED] Can Openbox function without ConsoleKit ?

I've very recently converted to a "pure" systemd Arch system & desire to be without ConsoleKit, if it is possible at this stage.
I tried to remove ConsoleKit with pacman but was blocked with the following error:
handy ~ $ pdelete consolekit
checking dependencies...
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: oblogout: requires consolekit
Which brings two questions:
Can Openbox live without ConsoleKit?
If so, how?

I use systemctl reboot & poweroff from buttons configured for the job in Worker. I used to use a couple of simple scripts that first umounted my three NAS NFS shares (to get around the time out problem) & then shutdown or reboot. So I NEVER use oblogout anyway.
The new systemctl commands reboot & poweroff, automatically umount my NFS shares first & then do what they are named. Fantastic, this is how it is supposed to be.

From the menu bar, select
 ▹ System Preferences ▹ Energy Saver ▹ Power Adapter
and uncheck the box labeled Put the hard disk(s) to sleep when possible, if it's checked.
If the drive has more than one interface (USB, FireWire, Thunderbolt, eSATA), try one of the other interfaces.
Check that the data cable is securely inserted at both ends.
Try a different cable.
If you're connecting the drive through a hub, connect it directly to a built-in port on the Mac.
If you're connecting it directly, try a different port.
Disconnect all other devices on the bus, or as many as possible.
Test the drive with another Mac. Test another drive with this Mac.
If the drive is bus-powered, but has an AC adapter, connect the adapter.
Start up in Recovery mode and launch Disk Utility. Is the drive recognized?
Start up in Safe Mode and test.
Reset the NVRAM.
Reset the System Management Controller.
If the drive doesn't work under any of the above conditions, and if another drive does work with the same Mac, then the drive has failed. You may be able to salvage the mechanism by removing it from the enclosure and installing it in another one, or in a drive dock.

Most likely you have Office 2004 which are PPC-only applications and will not work in Lion. Upgrade to Office 2011. Other alternatives are:
Apple's iWork suite (Pages, Numbers, and Keynote.)
Open Office (Office 2007-like suite compatible with OS X.)
NeoOffice (similar to Open Office.)
LibreOffice (a new direction for the Open Office suite.)

Can I use OLAP kind of functionality without installing OLAP ( using materialized views etc)

Can OLAP cube be implemented without having ORACLE OLAP installed? As per my understanding, cubes are something which keeps aggregate data. So can I just use materialized view functionality ( which is already there in Oracle)?
Which other Oracle object can I use without installing ORACLE OLAP ( Dimension etc?)

If you mean by implementing an OLAP cube, you mean setting up reports for various summary level data analysis, it is possible to query materialized views to get the same data in some cases. While i was facing a problem with network-manager-applet, that needs to be started as root without consolekit, otherwise the applet won't start, i probably understood where is the issue:

There is only root user.
What i did: I removed consolekit after rebuilding polkit with systemd support. Usb automount works as expected.
I tried to add "session optional pam_systemd.so" to all files in /etc/pam.d only to give it a try, but nothing changed.
Here instead there is my xfce4.service that starts my xfce4 session:

Description=start xfce4
After=systemd-user-sessions.service
[Service]
User=federico
ExecStart=/usr/bin/startxfce4

[Solved ?] Arch on Alienware 14, can't boot without nomodeset

Hello everybody,
I just got a new Alienware 14, installed Lubuntu and Ubuntu with which I had various problems, including not being able to boot without the "nomodeset" option.
So I decided to migrate to Arch, followed the beginners guide word for word and everything worked fine, including uefi boot with gummiboot but
even here (obviously maybe) I can't boot without the nomodeset option.
What happens is that the screen goes black just after gummiboot has finished its work, and (obviously) if I use "nomodeset" I can't start X.
The computer in question has an intel i7 4700M and nvidia gt 750M.

So I tried installing bumblebee and the proprietary nvidia drivers https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Bumblebee but again, same problem...
Im I doing something stupid?
Any log/command output you may need to help me?

so, it appears that, as @Dheart told me, this is a bug in 3.11 kernel which prevents
the brightness settings to be correctly handled when KMS kicks in.
for me simply adding acpi_backlight=vendor
to the kernel command line solved the problem.

NetworkManager without ConsoleKit (possible?)

Hello there,
I am struggling to get NetworkManager working without consolekit since I have switched to systemd.
So far, after setting up systemd and recompiling polkit from ABS with the -systemd flag set, I "added session optional pam_systemd.so" to all relevant files in /etc/pam.d/ thus enabling systemd to divide user sessions into groups.
Once this was done, my nm-applet that didn't work at all before, now work to the extend that it is showing me all available wifi-network nearby. However, I am unable to connect to any. Once I click on a network, it tells me "Failed to activate connection" "(32) No session found for uid 1000 (Error statting file /var/run/ConsoleKit/database: No such file or directory)"
At that point I have been stuck for a while spending the past couple of days searching the internet for a (working) solution - with no luck. Does anyone of you happen to know how to solve this? I rly don't wonna install the depreciated ConsoleKit just to be able to manage wifi connections.
I'd switch to wicd but I need to be able to manage mobile broadband connections aswell and the only other option besides network manager to achieve that seems to be connman which doesn't have a working applet yet and can only be controlled by some test scripts...

I already rebuilt networkmanager from abs with no luck. The applet tells me "no network devices available"...

That's the relevant part of the error when launching nm-applet .
EDIT2: i recompiled network-manager-applet too enabling systemd support (as i did with networkmanager), but it does not work, the error is the same as above.
I'm using both from testing (0.9.6).
EDIT3: nm-applet works perfectly if started from root.

Actually we call it as Grayscale. But Grayscale is a mixture of all colors. If you only wish to print Black & White only, you need to set "Black Ink only" as default. Please try:
The setup may vary from printer to printer but basically (for Windows):
(a) Double click printer icon on desktop,
(b) Click Set Preferences,
(c) Click Advanced,
(d) Select "Black Ink only" for Print in Grayscale
(e) Click Ok/Apply ...

What OS will your Garmin work with? Funny there was someone else that did that and upgraded to Yosemite and regretted it.
I'd say Lion if your Garmin is compatible.

Your Numbers 2 app will still be functional if you download the new Numbers 3 app. If you purchased Numbers 2 prior to the Mac App Store, your iWork '09 apps are in Applications > iWork. If you purchased your Numbers 2 app from the Mac App Store, Numbers 2 will be in Applications, no sub folder. But, if you "Upgrade" to Numbers 3, Numbers 2 will be moved into an iWork subfolder within Applications. You will be able to manually choose which one you want to use, but Numbers 3 will be the default.

So actually like this, user A is only used by the X, user A wants to provide read-only access to user B is only used by Y (another PC) to the procedures / functions held user A. How do you?

Delivery (delivery_no, delivery_date)
SELECT desc, MAX(SUM(quantity)) FROM DeliveryItem, Item, Delivery WHERE Item.item_no = DeliveryItem.item_no AND Delivery.delivery_no = deliveryitem.delivery_no;
And I'm trying to output description of most delivered item but I got an error like SQL Error: ORA-00978: nested group function without GROUP BY. Could you help me to fix my code?

DESC is not a good column name; you could get errors if the parser thinks it means DESCending. I used DESCRIPTION instead, below.
I think the best way is to do the SUM in a sub-query, lkike this:

That's why you got the ORA-00937 error.
This second approach will only display one row of output, so If there is a tie for the item with the greatest total_quantity, only one description will be shown. The RANK method will show all items that had the highest total_quantity.
It looks like the delivery table plays no role in this problem, but it there's some reason for including it, you can join it tpo either query above.
Of course, unless you post test copies of your tables (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements) I cn't test anything.

Just curious ... if you already have a generic FM extractor then just go into it and find out where it is reading the data from. If its reading data from the CRM system then thre is no need for any BW adapter ... just in case you need any ABAP help ... post here ... I may be of use to you.
