[SOLVED] Can't access my Kaddressbook contacts anymore

It happened this morning. The most notable thing I did was upgrading kdelibs yesterday, but I honestly don't know if it could be related.
My contacts resources is a vcf-files dir. Instead of seeing the contacts' names, I saw the file names (e.g. 0G767FOGnq.vcf  8wvG2zwmZQ.vcf...) and all of the records are seen as empty. The console reported the following:
kaddressbook(12931)/libakonadi Akonadi::PluginRegistry::findBestMatchImpl: Mimetype tree is not a DAG!
I tried to remove that resource and creating a new one with the same settings. Now I get:
kaddressbook(13494)/libakonadi Akonadi::EntityTreeModelPrivate::fetchJobDone: Job error: "Unknown error. (Unable to fetch item from backend)"
In the application window a "waiting" cursor rotates forever near the addressbook name.
A clean user profile leads to the very same problem, so I'm really stuck!
Further, I can't even add contacts manually, nor import them (vcf, csv, ldif...), because kaddressbook inexorably crashes, both with the old and the new profile.
Am I the only who's facing this?
Edit: Akonadi Console states my Personal Contacts resource is "unable to start". Tried to restart the whole thing, obviously, with no luck.

Close out of the phone app, double tap the home button and completely close out of the app.
Then do a reset, no data loss.  Hold down the home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release wait for the phone to boot back up and then check again.

  • [HDD] After 1 hour I can't access to my HDD anymore... (solved)

    Hi !
I have a problem with Arch, when I boot to Arch after one hour all the files seems to disappear of my HDD, they're no reachable, my computer slows down and finally he stops reacting. I have to hard reboot...
When I boot after that I have fsck errors after each hard reboot but also when I reboot normally, I have these errors :
    /dev/sda3: recovering journal
/dev/sda3 contains a file system with errors, check forced.
    /dev/sda3:

sh: can't access tty; job control turned off
    [rootfs /]#_
At first I thought about my HDD was about to die, but I installed Arch on another HDD and I had the same errors as the first HDD.
Do you know what is happening to me ? Do you need more information ?
    Thanks !
Edit : Is that possible that the problem is about the kernel ? This problem seems to have appeared at the same time as I updated from 3.7 to 3.8. Coincidence or not ?

Yeah, funny thing is I cant find any patch in the last two stable releases in 3.8.x series that could have resolved this issue.
One was related to the loopback devices (this shouldn't be it), other one for DM (that really could have been it based on the commit log) but it was already present in 3.8.3 and I don't think you have a configuration that could have triggered the bug (maybe I'm wrong).
I'm puzzled but I'm really glad that this problem is solved.

  • Quick Steps can't access my Outlook Contacts

    Hello,
Quick Steps doesn't seem to be able to access my Outlook Contacts in Outlook 2010. When I try to add contacts for actions such as "Reply and Delete" or "Forward" in the "Respond" category, it gives me the "Address Book: Global Address List".
I am using a POP/SMTP Account and am not using Exchange.
I have not found any settings in Outlook that deal with this.
    Thank you

That didn't seem to solve it. I looked through the options (http://slipstick.me/jing/addressbook.png); I have "Contacts" listed on top, which contains my normal Contacts. I then have the other two contact groups, which I created, which contain less-used Contacts. I have "Start with contact folders" and "Choose Automatically" selected.
My normal Outlook Address Book (http://slipstick.me/jing/2010-03-31_0835.png) works fine and it shows up when I click the To button when addressing mail. All my contacts are there and I can access my different contact groups from the drop down menu. I have no difficulty with it.
When I am using Quick Steps, it gives me a box similar to this instead: http://maximumpcguides.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/10/new-contact1.PNG. However, it has "Address Book: Global Address List" as its name instead of "Select Recipients". Quick Steps is the only time in Outlook I have seen this special box. It seems to be connected to the Windows 7 Contacts function, which I do not use.

  • I can't access the game injustice anymore!

When I'm signed in with my Apple ID, i cannot access the game "injustice" anymore. This issue started two days ago. Before that I had no problems playing the game.
I can only access the game when I'm signed out of my Apple ID, the same issue occurs in both my iPad and iPhone. Therefore, this got me thinking that it could be a problem with my Apple ID.
Is there anyone that recognize this issue please help me out.
    Kind regards,

    Hi Ivan,
The devices I would like to access AFL Live premium video on are my iPhone 6 and my iPad Air so we are only talking about iOS devices.
The iPad Air is brand new. I am not contemplating resetting it to factory default. Everything else is working as I would expect. If deleting and reinstalling the AFL Live app made no difference then I don't expect that resetting the device to factory default will make any difference.
I know that it should be ok by using the same Apple ID to get it working on the iPad but the fact that it is not is the reason why I have posted in this forum.
I am able to login to the AFL Live app on the iPad and it is identifying me correctly. Immediately beneath where is says "Welcome MATTHEW" in the top left hand corner, on the iPhone it says "My Account" and on the iPad it says "Subscribe". This is clearly a bug either with the AFL Live app or with the retrieval of user information from Telstra. I have been paying for a service that I have not been receiving. I appreciate your assistance in trying to resolve this issue but it may need to be escalated to a higher technical level.

  • Nokia N8 Can't access my yahoo mail anymore

I have installed gmail, hotmail, ovimail and yahoomail on my N8. They all work properly. But since a few days YAHOO does not anymore. It asks me my password and then is says my log in info is wrong. I can't understand why. Because I'm using this password to log in on my computer at home and there it works perfectly well. What is reason for this ? Maybe this is a YAHOO issue. But then  again, why should this happen. I haven't changed any settings or done any updates. The only thing I did was switching to new Yahoo mail BETA. But to me that can't possibly be the reason for my problem. Any clues friends ?
    Solved!

If the problem persists, it's best to contact the Nokia care center, they should be able to check this in more detail in the email service.
As pj98 has stated, there were some issues caused to users of Ovi and Yahoo mail early in May, but these whould now all be fixed. If this is not the case for you, the best course of action to take first is to contact Nokia Care (phone and e-mail details can be found under the "Contact us" link) and ask them to check your account in the Messaging system. Unfortunately, it is not possible to make checks on individual accounts via this forum.

  • Can't access iTunes music store anymore!!

I recently just added Webroot Spysweeper and Norton Anti-Virus, while I made changes to the firewall on Norton and completely disabled Spysweeper, I still keep getting an error when trying to connect to the iTunes music store with my account.
"We Could Not Complete Your iTunes Store Request. An unknown error occurred (-50).
"There was an error in the iTunes store. Please try again later. "
Then if I skip logging in and just click anything such as Music, Movies, TV Shows directly, I get this error...
"We Could Not Complete Your iTunes Store Request. The network connection timed out.
"Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, then try again"
My internet connection is fine, but I can't figure out what is happening.
    Please help!!

I can't access "Run Diagnostics." It only shows "Run CD Diagnostics." In fact, I can't even get into the Apple Discussions Support website. I am having to use my other computer to send these posts. My other computer has not been upgraded to Internet Exporer 7.0 yet and it will bring up Itunes Music Store okay, so I can see the "Run Diagnostics" you are talking about just fine. Any other ideas?

  • [SOLVED] can't access to /dev/ devices without superuser, using udev

    Hello archers
Ive recently changed my distro from lubuntu to Arch64. In the way i've read many articles about trying to solve your problems in the wiki and such, the thing is, i made it this far without human help (exept some small talk with a friend) and i have encountered a mayor problem wich i can't solve by my own, i've been walking arround in circles and can't manage to get it working properly
    $ uname -a
    Linux Watch-Tower 3.2.11-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Thu Mar 15 09:19:02 CET 2012 x86_64 AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4600+ AuthenticAMD GNU/Linux
    what i want to do:
    - start PC
    - insert pendrive/CD/DVD
    - system will automatically mount the storage device
    - be able to access it from PCmanFM (wich i've installed) without being r00t or superuser
    - be able to unmount the storage device with a right click and "remove device" or such...
    what i can do:
    - insert a CD/DVD/USB-PENDRIVE and look at right column of PCmanFM to see it mounted (system will automatically mount the storage device)
    - access the CD/DVD/USB-PENDRIVE files only if i use "sudo pcmanfm" and enter password first
    - unmount only being a superuser or r00t
i hope i made myself clear. I've tryed to follow the wiki about udev and PCmanFM automount as regular user but if i add
    exec ck-launch-session dbus-launch openbox-session
to my .xinitrc or to my slim.conf i get an error from SLiM that doesn't let me log in "slim failed to execute login command".
The only way that i can start openbox is by removing ck-launch-session of .xinitrc and/or slim.conf
i will post my confs in order to help others to understand what's happening what i don't for lack of experience and knowledge

  • [Solved]Can't access whole harddrive in arch

The situation: I decided to install arch instead of gentoo on my server because I needed faster maintenance, and I really like arch
The small weird things - the harddrive is an pretty old 60gb harddrive. Originally when the computer had windows installed it only found 30 of the 60gb. When I later installed gentoo I rejoiced that I could partition and use the whole disk - 60gb. And yeah it even worked when I reinstalled gentoo a couple of years later. But now when I'm trying to install arch... I'm just able to use 30gb again >.<
    A little more info:
cfdisk can't handle the partitions at all...
fdisk can show the partitions and shows the current table with a total of 60gb, but when I try to create a new table I can only use 30gb again.
When I try to use the partitions I originally have (tot. 60gb) and create a new filesystem on the last partition, it doesn't use the whole parition and leaves 30gb.
I don't have a clue about what the problem is and  I would really like som help.
Edit: Found a little info, I think the bios only finds 30gb, and gentoo can access the whole harddrive in some way, don't know how...
Gentoo livecd has the boot option:
    - hdx=stroke    allows you to partition the whole harddrive even when your BIOS
                    can't handle large harddrives
Is there something like this in arch too?
toad: Like I said, even when I used my table which totaled 60gb I couldn't create a filesystem which used the last 30gb.

Doh, solved, I'm sorry that I bothered, I just used the "legacy ide, no sata" boot option...
Then to the next problem - how the heck do I make it work after the installation? I guess the scsi drivers get loaded since the drive is named sda.
Should I disable the scsi module at kernel line? And if -  is the module which needs disabling simply named scsi or is there something more/something else?
And finally - should I use the ide or the pata hook with mkinitcpio?
The solution to that is to add disablemodules=scsi_mod,libata,sd_mod to kernel line and using the ide hook for mkinitcpio
Don't know which of the modules that needs disabling but i chose those and now it works.
If anyone has a better solution please post... I could create my own custom kernel for this but it ain't worth the time right now.
