SOLVED: Duplicate Emails | Received Using: Unknown | Can't Reply to Emails | BIS

I had an issue with my Bold 9900 where I was receiving duplicate emails.  I use BIS and not BES Enterprise Server.
The first was Received Using: [my Emai Account] as normal.  Then a duplicate email would come in marked "Received Using: Unknown".  The first email I could reply to or forward as normal.  However, the "Unknown" one I could not.  The menu option for "send" after typing a reply did not appear.
I searched the forums and google high and low for a solution, but to no avail.  I finally broke down and called paid Blackberry Official Support and spent two weeks troubleshooting the issue.   Finally the issue was solved.
If the solutions shown below do not solve the problem for you, then this may.  It did for me.

http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB02567
http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB12207
I had 6 email accounts.  I was using a T-Mobile SIM Card.   Then I switched providers to Telenor Sweden and my SIM.  My email accounts continued to work normally.  Then I wanted to add 4 more email accounts.  However, when I went to create the first one, I was prompted that I no longer had ANY email accounts and had to recreate all 10 from scratch.   This is when the problem started.  The 6 email accounts I had originally set up were the ones receiving the duplicate emails.  The 4 new ones were behaving normally.
I tried all the usual fixes like deleting the accounts, deleting the service books, but to no avail.  I was not using any gmail or yahoo accounts or aliases.  I was not using Blackberry Enterprise Server.   So most of the solutions posted in the forums and knowledge base did not apply to me.
When I called Blackberry Support, the representative asked if I had 6 email accounts.  I said no, I have 10 email accounts.  He then pulled up a separate system where he saw the 10 accounts.   The original 6 in one system, and the new 10 in another system.  It seems that the original 6 were not deleted out of the BIS system when I recreated them.  So they were still left there but without a service book attached to them because the service books were all attached to the 10 new ones.   Ultimately, the representative deleted the previous 6 email accounts from the BIS system manually, and then my problem was solved.   It seems that T-Mobile was still holding these accounts hostage and did not properly release them when they were recreated with Telenor.   So when an email came, the Telenor service book gave me a normal email, but the T-Mobile account gave me an Unknown because there was no service book attached to it - it existed only on the BIS, not on my Blackberry.
I noted that this problem with T-Mobile had been reported on a couple other forums but they were able to log into their  T-Mobile account and solve the issue by deleting the email accounts from the T-Mobile system or by changing the passwords on the email accounts so that it didn't recognize them.  I no longer had any of my account information so I couldn't log into T-Mobile, and I had 10 accounts so didn't want to change all the passwords.  But Blackberry ultimately solved the problem for me.  I just wanted to share in case anyone else was as frustrated by this as I was.

If you ever have to call Blackberry to have them manually resolve this issue for you, give them ticket #27710221 to reference the solution.

Hmmm, wouldn't think the Modem would make difference on that though!?
Couple more things to try...
In your home folder, try trashing this folder...
Quit mail 1st.
/Library/Caches/Mail
reboot.

  • [Solved] Only root (or using sudo) can start wbar 2.3.4-1

Since the update from 2.3.0-1 to 2.3.4-1 wbar can only be started using either the root account or starting it with sudo. Due to this its (normal user) config file is ignored.
I have taken a peek at the wbar site and seen that there have been newer versions before this last one but it is only this one that popped up in pacman. Therefore I do not know if this problem already started with any of these.
I have downgraded to the previous version I used and all works as it should (and has always done). Anyone else has experienced this?

    @WorMzy
When I try to run wbar as regular user I only get a blank line and back to 'console command line' so to speak. I tried to debug it using
    LD_DEBUG=files wbar > wbar.log 2>&1
but, suprisingly as it always had worked before in other cases, got a 'permission denied' message for the wbar.log file.
Right now I checked again and, again suprisingly, it (the debug procedure) worked with the following output,

You can check this support document regarding troubleshooting Messages http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2755
However, SMS is a carrier function. You say that iMessage is working, so I would contact the carrier since it is SMS is not working.

    Good day Sidharth Namrta,
It sounds like you are unable to make any calls, but you can recieve them, and everything else seems to work fine. I recommend you use the troubleshooting in the following article to help you get that resolved, named:
iPhone: Troubleshooting issues making or receiving calls
Follow the steps below to resolve this issue. Please test after each step.
Toggle airplane mode: Tap Settings > Enable Airplane Mode, wait five seconds, then turn off airplane mode.
    Check your phone settings:
Check your Do Not Disturb settings: Tap Settings > Do Not Disturb.
Check for any blocked phone numbers: Tap Settings > Phone > Blocked.
See if Call Forwarding is turned on: Tap Settings > Phone > Call Forwarding.
Ensure that your software is up to date:
Check for a carrier settings update.
Check for an iOS software update.
Note: Some updates may require a Wi-Fi connection.
If the iPhone has a SIM card, reseat the SIM card.
If the iPhone 4 or iPhone 4s is on the Verizon network, dial *228 from the iPhone and select option 2 to update the Preferred Roaming List (PRL). The PRL determines the cellular towers the phone uses for cellular service, selecting those with the best signal strength.
Reset the network settings: Tap  Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Try to make or receive calls in another location.
Attempt to isolate to one network band:
If you're having the issue on LTE, disable LTE, if possible, and try again.
If you're having the issue on 3G/4G, disable 3G/4G, if possible, and try again.
Contact the carrier to check the following:
Your account is properly configured to use the specific iPhone that has the issue.
There are no localized service outages.
    Your account doesn't have a billing-related block.
Your calls don't have errors on the carrier system.
    Restore the phone as new.
If the above steps don't resolve the issue, go to an Apple Retail Store, carrier, Apple Authorized Reseller, or contact AppleCare to send the phone in for service.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the very best,
    Sterling

  • Receiving multiple duplicate emails using Outlook 2010

I am receiving multiple duplicate emails using Outlook 2010. The email receiving, can go up to few hundreds copies. Not
all emails i receive will be duplicated. There is no common sender for those affected emails. Usually when i received email from my Outlook 2010 the email in Outlook Web Access will be gone. But this time round for those affected duplicating emails, it still
can be found in the Outlook Wed Access. Any solution for this problem? Currently
I would need to go into the Outlook Web Access to delete the affected email then the duplication will be stop. Or I would need to cancel the Send/Receive & restart Outlook. But this 2 method is only temporary solution. The problem will keep coming
    back.

    Dear Jeremycny,
I think you are working with a POP3 account and issue of replicated emails in Outlook is common in the case of POP3 connection. So, first of all uncheck the
“Leave a copy of messages on the server” option and see the results.
Also, see the TasK Manager, if there are multiple “Outlook.exe” are running under the
“Processes” tab, then end the unnecessary programs as each of them downloading the same email multiple times.
Apart from it, if there are numbers of factors behind the replication of emails in Microsoft Outlook such as:
    Rules (Exploiated Rules)
    Scanning Programs Integration
    Damaged Outlook Profile
Robert’s have defined these bugs in a more profound manner in his blog, so take more help from the given source:

I have looked at the other posts about duplicate emails but none seem to answer my problem
Recently I have started getting duplicate emails in my Outlook inbox, even if I have read them in Outlook. I have also noticed I am not receiving all emails, including the one from BTcommunity asking for verification of email to acces this forum. I only use BY Yahoo on line to check and delete spam and do not read email online at BTYahoo.
I have not, as far as I am aware, changed any of the settings in Outlook or on BTYahoo.
The Bt help screen swere less than helpful as my BTyahoo pages do not seem to have the options they suggest.
Another concern is the repeated downloading to outlook of the same emails will increase my braodband usage.

    Hi. Welcome to the forums.
Although receiving emails in Outlook will increase the usage, emails are generally very small - unless they all contain large attachments.
Duplicate emails received in your case as described is generally down to an email fetch process from Outlook (or any mail client program) failing to complete the download, and hence an index into the received emails is not updated. When checking for emails again, it gets the same emails it had before until it properly finishes the fetch.
There are a few reasons this can occur including communications failure, but also stuck emails can cause it to happen, possibly Outlook checking for emails at the exact same moment you are say deleting  spam via webmail at BTYahoo.
I assume you've checked the online spam folder in case various emails are ending up there, as opposed to just deleting the spam from the online Inbox.

  • Receiving Duplicate emails on shared Mailbox

We are using Exchange Server 2007 and outlook client is Outlook 2010.
We are not using PST concepts(that is mails downloaded to local copy and remove from the Server).
one of the shared mailbox is accessed by many people and they are receiving duplicate emails frequently on the shared mailbox.
Is there any solution to stop receiving duplicate email.

    Hi,
Agree with Willard. Please check if these duplicate messages have the same Message ID.
If they are sent separately, we can't stop this. If they have the same Message ID, please check whether there is corrupted rules in Outlook.
Besides, please check if there is any third party add-ins from Outlook user side. If the shared mailbox is accessed by 5 users, then we need to disable add-ins on these 5 users' Outlook client.

  • Sending Duplicate emails using Mail and mBox for mac

I have been sending duplicate emails inadvertantly recently.  It seems it's when I use mBox for mac (registered copy) in Mail to use my Hotmail with IMAP.
I hadn't noticed it at first, but now I see everytime I send a mail I get 2 copies in my sent box.  I can turn off the store sent messages on server option to fix it (but that's the whole point of having IMAP!!), or I can turn off mBox for mac and it also seems to work (but then I can't use IMAP!).    I've also tried on the same machine from gmail, and iCloud accounts (MobileMe), and I had no issue at all.  I've also tried 2 different Hotmail accounts, and both of them send double messages every time I send.
I've searched for a loooooong time, and can't find anyone with a similar issue - but surely I'm not the only one?  I think anyone still using a hotmail account will eventually install something like mBox for mac if they've gone Mac recently - as I have.
I checked the mail headers of the 2 mails, and they are quite different (masked where appropriate) -

I'm surprised I can't find anyone else with a similar issue.  I've submitted a support ticket with mBox/fluent factory, but I'm still not convinced it's their issue, and possibly a Mail on Mac issue.
Does anybody have any suggestions?  Thanks for your help!

    @ Kokola
Great staff!!! MBox Fluent Factory is very poor app.
I was having problem with duplicated sent emails and cleaning up my inbox, sent items and deleting emails. Try to contact them via email for over 3 months and never got a reply!
I just used the suggested configuration and my Entourage (email app for MAC) is working perfetcly. I can visualise all my online folders now!
    Thank you so much!
mBox never addressed the issue and the duplicated emails reached new levels of annoyance but the good thing is that Hotmail and Outlook.com finally rolled out support for IMAP.
    Incoming Mail Server: imap-mail.outlook.com
    Outgoing Mail Server: smtp-mail.outlook.com
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/outlook/send-receive-from-app
No more duplication issues once you switch over, and no need for a third party (mBox)software to bridge the missing feature gap.

  • Received duplicate emails while weekly backup was running.

Tuned computer on, Retrospect weekly backup began running. Logged on to internet. Requested Apple mail. Received 14 duplicate emails from last few days. Can someone please tell me what the problem is?

Are any of you using the Daylite contact management program with the DMI mail interface? Just fishing for possibilities since no one has really responded. Are either of you having any other weird Mail behavior? One of our computers is having major issues with the indexing (envelope) corruption where the inbox disappears. We are going to Apple store tomorrow for further investigation. Any other info or help is appreciated. To us it sounds like a virus or bug in Mail.

  • Receiving duplicate emails from all last year!

I have been receiving duplicate emails from November 2011 all morning, and they were long since received and deleted.  The total will be 14,955, and after five hours, we're only up to June.  What's going on, and how can this happen?  I can't get my current emails until this is finished!

I'd like to get an answer for this as well.
A couple of days ago, I updated from os 10.4x to os 10.5x. Since then, there have been a handful of e-mails which have been plaguing my system. Roughly 10 times a day, the e-mail will show up as a new e-mail. When I use "mail2web.com" to double check that there are no messages on my server, it shows that they are no longer there. Still, every hour or two, these handful of messages show up again as if they are new, and this has been happening for 2 days now.
Feel free to e-mail me if you have any suggestions. The suggestions already listed didn't work for me.
Thanks in advance! All input is appreciated.

  • How can i find and delete duplicate emails on my mac

I use Apple Mail, Gmail and a third party email on my few Apple devices (iMac and Macbook Air both running Mavericks and iPhone 4s running current version iOS).
I would like to sort through, locate and delete duplicate emails (from several misguided approaches to Rules, Mailboxes, Smart Mailboxes, etc.)

    Hi,
Presuming the Post is about the Messages app and iMessages.
If you delete them they are gone or the Mac.
An iMessages arrives  and is displayed in the App.
there is a setting in the Preferences > General section about Saving on Close.
The iMessages are also stored in the chat.db items (unless deleted) and this provides the "history" when you reconnect to a contact who is not currently on display in the main window.
In Mavericks Saved Chats and the chat.db items (there are three in total) are held in different places.
The app does not work like Mail where the emails can be left on the Server and "read" by other devices.
The iMessages are pushed to the devices that then accepts them.
After that the "sync" function ends (What you do with the iMessages on one device is not seen or changed on another)

  • Duplicate email notifications in using extended notification

    Hi,
I have configured extended nottification to send workitem notifications to outlook email inbox by using SWNADMIN & SWNCONFIG.  I have executed the SWN_SELSEN program to send notifications out.  However, I am getting two duplicate email messages for every same workitem.  Has anyone run into this same issue?  If you have, could you share how did you solve this problem.
    Thank you for your help.

If you're on ECC 5.0 or higher - check this blog out
    <a href="/people/saujanya.gn/blog/2006/12/19/how-to-get-work-items-your-outlook-inbox:///people/saujanya.gn/blog/2006/12/19/how-to-get-work-items-your-outlook-inbox
If you're on something lower than ECC 5.0 -
Search SDN for notes on RSWUWFML2 - that's a SAP program that you could use to send workitem to outlook email inbox.
    Hopes this help.

  • Receiver is getting duplicate emails

My iphone 5 sends duplicate emails to one receiver.

If you have Exchange, you can track the email from there to see if that yields any value. You can also turn up the diagnostic logging in Central Admin -> Monitoring -> Configure diagnostic logging -> SQL Server Reporting Services, and selecting:
    Report Server Email Extension
    Report Server Schedule
    Report Server Subscription
Turn them up to Verbose in the Trace log, then monitor the ULS log when you identify a user who has received duplicate emails.

My facetime is not verifying my email though it shows an email has been sent for verification but no email is received. How can I have my facetime back.. Pls help.

I have it set up on both of mine and I know she has the app what I would have to check is if it is enable in hers, although prior to the cancellation of service she used to be able to make the calls, my concern is why I can't which is possible that it needs to be enable. Thank you!

  • How can I stop getting duplicate emails?

I've been getting duplicate emails for as long as I can remember. I've tried the suggestions I've found on these forums, including getting rid of MessageUidsAlreadyDownloaded2 from the three mail accounts I use. I have two domains of my own, and my .mac email account, and the duplicates occur with all three accounts - and it's driving me crazy!
I don't get duplicates of all my emails, and it seems quite random, but it does happen a lot.
This happens on my G4 laptop at home, and also on my G5 iMac at work.
I am anxious for a solution that actually works, because nothing I've seen suggested or tried has helped.
    Thanks,
    Steve

David, the problem appears to be that random messages are downloaded more than once from a server (it could be any of my three servers, two of which are my own domains, and the third of which is my .mac account, which is set up as a .mac account rather than a POP account).
I did notice this, and wouldn't be surprised if it's the cause of the problems: on my home machine, in the ~/library/mail folder, there are three POP account folders.
Two of them match my current email addresses ([email protected] and [email protected]), while the third is labelled "[email protected]@mail.hrksf.com,"
even though I currently use [email protected] rather than [email protected] With me so far?
On my work machine, in the ~/library/mail folder, there are two POP account folders. One is actually for a domain that no longer exists, the other is the same as #3 above - [email protected]@mail.hrksf.com. Somehow, mail.app is using these two folders to download my mail. I have tried deleting the folders but mail.app recreates them. I'm not at work to check at the moment, but I don't think either of those folders contains a MessageUidsAlreadyDownloaded2 file.
I don't know if it matters that these folders don't match my accounts, but I imagine that it does. Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Steve
