Solved Emergency Mode... Now what?
I rebooted, and it came up in emergency mode.
I'm running Arch as a fileserver/ media server. How do I go about troubleshooting?
I ran journactl -xb, but the only thing that looks fishy is that it can't load /bin/plymouth. I'm not running any GUI, just command line, and I get the impression plymouth is a device for GUI use. Where do I go next?

I did get errors from systemd-udevd worker 163 and 164 did not accept message -1 ( connection refused) kill it

MacBook Pro wouldn't boot, just kept on the white Apple logo screen with the spinning wheel for hours, so booted it with safe mode and it worked and is up and running, although it is all juddery? I got my ipod to disk mode, now what?
i tired the 5Rs again. but it says in the instructions that my ipod should register in my itunes. everytime i plug my ipod to my laptop, my itunes would stop working and then close. ive uninstalled and reinstalled it about 3 times already. help please..

Hi,
i already searched here and with google and I could find problems regarding the emergency mode but none fitting to mine
I really dont know what I shall do now.
I just rebooted because my wifi was connected but i had no internet connection although it was there on other devices. after reboot it showed emergency mode like in the pictures below.
plus i posted the error parts of the journal output.
can someone help me with that?

But how can I prevent this? I guess it was because my notebook booted into windows and because II didn't want it to boot I just restarted while booting. not the gentle way but usually I had no problems with that. I mean I won't do that again now but can I maybe fix something in my fstab?

why is there a swap at all? When I installed arch I especially tried doing it without a swap drive because I have 16gb of ram, so I thought I don't need that?
but to be safe I should exchange all the labels with UUIDs right?

UUID's are generally safer because they won't change over time. I got mixed up with labels referring to "/dev/sdb8" or "arch", so your current definitions should be fine as long as you don't introduce a new drive labelled arch.
To get rid of mounting the swap partition, (This WILL disable hibernation) you can just prefix the swap line with a hash so it isn't parsed.
To allow skipping of the Windows partition if it's in HybridBoot, add "nofail" to the options region. E.G: LABEL=stuff /media/stuff ntfs defaults,rw,nofail 0 0
Last thing (Hopefully), the pass field, (the digit 2 in the "stuff" line) should be a zero, as fsck cannot scan NTFS as far as I know. -

Apple (and no one else) can not assist (with serial number or iCloud) in finding a lost or stolen iPad.
Report to police along with serial number. Change all your passwords.

[SOLVED] System goes in emergency mode after upgrade
Hi,
since my last system upgrade the system always ends up in emergency mode. While booting it says it fails to mount /proc/bus/usb. Any ideas to get KDE running again?

Not sure what version I was running, but it worked fine but I have not been able to get it running again. I have uninstalled and reinstalled with the same results. Have followed the help pages to the point of obtaining the Crash Report... now what?

Unfortunately that is not really getting anywhere yet, you could become the first person to file a bug about that particular crash, but that takes a bit of time and testing.
There is a known problem causing firefox 6 to crash and that is the use of IDvault, that can give more than one crash signature, the software developers regarding ID vault are WhiteSky, and are expecting to release a fix in a few days (if they have not already done so)
Have you tried
* using firefox's [[safe mode]]
* disabling all plugins
Does that help, either by preventing crashes or giving another recognised crash signature. You should also ensure all software is up to date, before trying adding extension software back.
The other common cause of crashes is malware, that includes a particular Trojan that is now known to crash Firefox 6. Check out [[is my firefox problem a result of malware]] you will need to do scans using software or sites with up-to-date scanning software, if you do scan for problems say what sites or software you used and the version of software used. Downgrading firefox versions rarely helps with crashes, it may help with the one specific trojan, but the security risks would then remain, potentially causing even more problems because the browser no longer crashes. -
I can get an unresponsive iPod Classic (160 GB) into disc mode...now what do I do to get iTunes to recognize it?
To get out of disk mode do a iPod Hard Reset.
Toggle the Hold switch till you dont see the red mark.
Press Menu and Center buttons simultaneously for about 10 secs till the Apple logo comes ON then release the buttons
Select your preferred language.

I have the Droid Razr M and now and then i will lose signal and go into Emergency Mode Only

Flipping between AT&T LTE and Emergency mode
Greetings,
I am the proud new owner of a BlackBerry Z10. Within a few days of getting the phone, I noticed it was flip-flopping constantly between AT&T LTE and emergency mode. I could not make or receive calls, and text messages I sent were often received multiple times. Here are some of the steps I took to try and resolve the problem:
1. Went to the AT&T store and had a new SIM card installed
2. Several days later, I went back since the problem persisted. They provided a replacement phone.
3. Performed a security wipe, interrupted it part way through, and performed a fresh install from a PC using BB Link.
4. Called AT&T support, who suggested replacing it with yet another phone. However, this didn't seem helpful since I purchased the original phone in Pennsylvania and swapped it out the first time in Texas - I wouldn't think they'd have phones from the same "batch" in such geographically disparate locations.
I'm out of ideas on what else could be causing this and would greatly appreciate any insight the community here could provide!

Go to Solution.Thank you for the help and suggestions! I worked with AT&T support and they "did something" ...the phone has been stable and working flawlessly for a few weeks now. Unfortunately I'm not sure exactly what they did to correct the problem; all I know is that it went to their "L3 support" who in turn worked with Blackberry. It took them about a day to fully fix the issue but since then, it's been all blue skies.
