[SOLVED] fglrx(0): [drm] failed to remove DRM signal handler

Hello!
I'm new to Arch so please forgive me if I'm asking about something obvious.
After spending many hours on reading and comprehension of Arch philosophy I finally dared to install Arch 2007.08-02 (Don't Panic) on my computer Fortunately I was prepared for text-mode configuration, but obviously not prepared enough... My first major problem is with the X server. I have followed strictly the instructions from the wiki and installed xorg and catalyst drivers afterwards (for Radeon X800 Pro). Now probably something is wrong with my xorg.conf, which you can see below, but there's also a bit more sophisticated problem causing this type of message in /var/log/Xorg.0.log
(II) fglrx(0): Shutdown CMMQS
(EE) fglrx(0): [drm] failed to remove DRM signal handler
(II) fglrx(0): [drm] removed 1 reserved context for kernel
(II) fglrx(0): [drm] unmapping 8192 bytes of SAREA 0x2000 at 0xb7c78000
(II) fglrx(0): [drm] Closed DRM master.
I couldn't find a solution either on this board and on the web as well, so I dare to ask for a little tip what to do to solve this
Thx in advance.
P.S. My xorg.conf

Hello quad3d@work Thanks for the interest, but I've already solved this problem. I think it was something with my xorg.conf file, because when I made some changes to it, suddenly all started to work. If You are still interested in the output of the above command, well, here it is
[zibi1981@felipe ~]$ cat ~/.xinitrc
#!/bin/sh
# ~/.xinitrc
# Executed by startx (run your window manager from here)
# exec gnome-session
# exec startkde
# exec startxfce4
# exec icewm
# exec openbox
# exec blackbox
# exec fluxbox
# exec ratpoison
# exec dwm
# ... or any other WM of your choosing ...
# exec xterm
All the lines are commented, because I use Entrance with appropriate input in /etc/inittab file
[zibi1981@felipe ~]$ cat /etc/inittab
# /etc/inittab
#  Runlevels:
#    0    Halt
#    1(S)       Single-user
#    2    Not used
#    3    Multi-user

#    6    Reboot
## Only one of the following two lines can be uncommented!
# Boot to console

The installation process is probably being interrupted by your antivirus file scanner. Most security apps incorporate such utilities which spring into action as soon as you attempt to install, or uninstall a program. That has the effect of causing the installation to halt at a certain point and you're left somewhere in limbo.
What I suggest you do here is to find your AV app on this site and then use the instructions to disable it: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic114351.html
After doing that, download the Flash uninstaller from here: 32-bit Flash Uninstaller When you see the prompt, choose "Save" and save it somewhere you can find it easily afterwards. Do not choose "Run". Close IE8 before you run the uninstaller.
After the uninstaller terminates, reboot to clear the old Registry entries.
When the system reboots to the desktop, disable your AV app again, then go here to download the latest version: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
This time, when you see the prompt, choose "Run" to install it immediately.
    Finally, re-enable your antivirus again.

  • Errors (libGL error: failed to open drm) in Gnome Startup & StartUp

    Hi,
I started installing ArchLinux and want to use Gnome but got some error messages on start up.
My System is a Thinkpad T400s with Intel GMA 4500MHD.
    I have installed:
    pacman -S gnome xorg-server dbus xorg-xinit xf86-video-intel
from https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Intel my graphic chip is supported.

  • Remove DRM from Independent Labels

One way that Apple can show that it takes seriously the topics brought up in Steve Jobs's article, "Thoughts on Music", is to remove DRM from all material where the content producer did not specifically ask for it.
There are many independent labels who wish their music to be as open as possible to a broader community. DRM gets between them and their customers.
Please consider removing DRM from all content where the content producer did not request or require it.
    Thank you,
    Mike Shea

It wont happen. Apple has DRM accross the board is to offer a consistant product. Lets face the facts that if 90% of all music is required DRM (shot in the dark) people who dont get the DRM thng (most customers) will be totaly lost if only a few songs have DRM and others dont. Apple stripping DRM from music that doesnt require them means very little to the Recording companies anyway.

  • How Do I remove DRM on epub?

How Do i remove the DRM on ibooks, so i can read them on my pc. I purchased an ibook and i would like to read it, but i cant because of some ******** DRM. Whats the point of this? i purchased the book and i would like to read it on any device.

    Ditto,
The program you are thinking of allowed you to replace DRM songs with non-DRM versions for 30 cents apiece.  That program was discontinued  by Apple a few months ago.  Here are the options now:
If you have a lot of tracks to upgrade, you can do it by subscribing to iTunes Match and following the instructions by which to delete your DRM copy and download the non-DRM matched copy.  See the section "Can I upgrade my previously purchased music to iTunes Plus?" in this guide: iTunes Store: iTunes Plus Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
If you only have a few to upgrade, you can buy them singly.

  • Removing DRM from existing purchases

    Hi all,
I love iTunes, but could never stand the DRM that came bundled with purchases. Now DRM's been removed from music I'm loving it again. I've made half a dozen purchases already today and I'm delighted with how easily my existing MP3 software was able to convert the M4A files to MP3.
One question though, is there a way within iTunes to either re-download past purchases, or to remove DRM from purchases made before Apple stopped including DRM with music?
    Thanks.
    Lex.

Access the iTunes plus upgrade screen from either the right hand top in the store in the upper box or by clicking on the iTunes plus advert in the middle of the store screen near the free download screen.
If you have none of these links it may mean that none of your past purchases is currently available. The entire store will not be DRM free until near April, currently only close to 8 Million tracks are available, though I think new are still be added daily.

    Adobe Live Chat: http://www.adobe.com/support/chat/ivrchat.html,
or as a slight short cut try http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?product=digital-editions&topic=using-my-product-or-ser vice
Click on 'I still need help' and then you should see 'Chat with an Agent' at the bottom of the page.
'Ask our experts' will indeed just lead you back to this forum.
Sometimes you will get ‘Sorry! All agents are busy— please check back soon.’
Don’t refresh the page, just hang on and it should eventually go to ‘Chat Now, and agent is available’.
They can reset your authorizations, and then you must reauthorize any devices you still need.
(Unfortunately, Adobe haven’t got round to an admin website for viewing and editing authorizations.)
    Some of the representatives haven't been properly trained and don't know what to do (and claim there is nothing they can do);
in that case the only way seems to be to give up that chat and try another session hoping for a properly trained representative.
If your problem is with another device using Overdrive, Bluefire, Aldiko or similar third party app, it is recommended not to mention that app when on the chat, just mention that you have run out of authorizations  (E_ACT_TOO_MANY_ACTIVATIONS) .  Thanks to AJP_Bear for that tip.

  • How to remove DRM from files

I thought iTunes Match was supposed to remove DRM from files

    royfrommanhattan wrote:

It doesn't actually  "remove" anything.  But it does allow you to delete the DRM versions and download non-DRM versions, if available.
Go to this document, and read the section on "Can I upgrade my previously purchased music to iTunes Plus?":

I have been asked by a client, to remove DRM from 2500 tracks brought from iStore. The music will only be used on his in-home Sonos system and won't be distributed to anyone else.
After a quick search around the net, I can't find a definitive answer about the legallity of this practice.
    Help appreciated

According to the DMCA, it is illegal to remove the encryption without the copyright owners permission.
"to “circumvent a technological measure” means to descramble a scrambled work, to decrypt an encrypted work, or otherwise to avoid, bypass, remove, deactivate, or impair a technological measure, without the authority of the copyright owner;"
In addition, the Terms of Service for these forums prevent discussions of it (since it is illegal).

    Hi Andrew,
If the tracks are MP3 files, then there is no protection on them, there is no protection for MP3 files so they can be transferred to your PC or another player.
If they are WMA files with DRM protection, then it is unfortunate that you turned that option on for your own tracks (that you ripped), but we can't allow discussion on how to (hypothetically) remove DRM protection as that includes bought tracks aswell, they include this protection on purpose.

  • Re download drm files as non drm files

Can I re-download previous DRM purchase as none DRM?

    Hi,
If the track is elligible for upgrade, delete the original file and move to trash. Do not tick delete from cloud. You will observe that the download icon now appears and the bit rate will now show as 256 Kbps. You can now download the upgraded version to your hard drive.
Similarly, if you get a match on non purchased songs and the bit rate is less than 256 on the original, you adopt the same procedure and download the upgarded version.
Be aware that some Protected will not be upgraded. On those file, the bit rate will remain at 128 Kbps. You may find that you may have problems redownloading them. If you have this problem, you will need to delete from cloud and then go to itunes store > purchased and redownload from there - will still be 128 Protected. You may need to remove download error in download progress page. PS make sure you have a back up just in case you can't redownload them.

This puts a very important issue!
We seek the solution in the short term.

Just done: the application crashes trying to export IDML!!!
This is not a good sign. Try moving the pages to another document using the Pages panel menu.
But you should also try copying all the items on one page and pasting them into another document.
Then when you've got a few pages in the new document, try moving or deleting them. Or try exporting as IDML.
Also, build a completely new sample document (doesn't have to be all the information) from scratch and try deleting/moving those pages.
This will help us see if it's just one document or all.
