[SOLVED] Firefox not showing Chinese? Only squares.

I tried search engines and not being any smarter. Squares look like this http://i.imgur.com/ZLPGlBj.png. Tried all Firefox language settings but no help. I have google fonts in use (Arimo font): https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/ttf-google-webfonts/

Firstly, make sure that your device is not hidden (left hand pane). If it just reads device then toggle between SHOW and HIDE.
Secondly, try all the other ports on your computer, even a number of times.
Thirdly, if you have another computer try plugging your device into it without taking any action, give it a moment, remove it and try it back in your other computer again.

And failing all that put the device into Recovery mode. See here and note the paragraph 'If you restore from a different computer.... ' down near the bottom of the page -

Can you open Applications by navigating to the Applications folder via the Finder? When you write that your computer doesn't show icons, do you mean your Dock icons? Can you see the Dock as all?

Why the adobe reader can not show Chinese word

Hi All,
i am using WinXP SP2, CFMX7 version 7.0.1, MySQL and the
latest version of report builder.
i wish to do a report which can show chinese word and english
word as well. However, the report can only show english and the
report will replace '?' in every chinese character. Why and how to
solve it?
The CF can insert chinese charater into DB.

[SOLVED] Printer not showing up in print options but working (CUPS)

I am using Lexmark X1270 and have got it working via CUPS web interface (printed test page and all), but even after restarting CUPS daemon and rebooting, it does not show up in File > Print in any apps like Firefox, Openoffice, etc. All I see in the print is "Print to file," no printer shows up.

Why can Firefox not show ALT Tex on its web pages

I cannot get Firefox to show ALT Tex when the mouse passes over links ect. I do not have this problem with Internet Explorer. Please help me on this matter, as a web designer I would like this feture to work in Firefox.

ALT text is meant to be displayed when the image isn't displayed. The TITLE tag is for displaying information about the image. You should use both attributes for every image.

Firefox not showing correct HP background image/video, but IE (all versions), Chrome and Safari are. How do I fix this ASAP?

Website www.bludot.com is not showing the proper BG image/video on all browsers (Safari, Chrome and all IE versions) but not on Firefox. The code is right, but FF is still pulling old images. The correct image/HTML5 video should be a cake, as displayed on all other browsers.

Firefox 9 is being withheld for Mac users due to unresolved crashing problems.
A test case would be nice and the URL for the website in question, so someone here can experience that problem first hand.

Mac Pro DVD player not showing picture, only audio

When playing a DVD, my DVD player on Mac Book Pro does not show the picture, you only hear the audio. Any ideas?

This started yesterday for me too--audio works fine, but picture is gone. I tried 4 different DVDs to be sure, and all of them have no picture. The screen is completely black. I guess it's time to go to the Genius Bar...

SP2013 Workflow Service Application is not showing up only WF Service App proxy but the WF is working...

I configured Sharepoint Workflow Manager 1.0 in Sharepoint 2013 App Server running under Windows 2012 R2. The Workflow manager is working properly - I tested using Sharepoint Designer and Sharepiont Workflow 2013 is listed. But under Service Applications,
only Workflow Service Application Proxy shows up NO Workflow Service Application.
I followed the troubleshooting steps on this - I have re-registered WF many times but still only proxy is coming up.

I recommend to click Configuration Wizards in the Quick Launch of Central Administration site and then click Launch the Farm Configuration Wizard.
And then make sure that the Workflow Service Application is selected and then click Next. (You can uncheck the other service applications if you do not need them)
After that, the Workflow Service Application will show up.

CS5.5 "also include these characters" field shows Chinese as squares

We're having problems with embedding Chinese characters via the "also include these characters" field. It works properly in other computers with CS5 and earlier Flash versions we have used, but in CS5.5 (on one new computer with it on Windows 7) copy-pasting Chinese to this field shows the pasted characters as squares in the field.
Even the font name below the field shows Chinese characters as squares.
Any idea what the problem could be?

As you said, set the character codes and collations in mysql to "utf8_general_ci" including server, database, tables & fields.
Also needed was the addition of "mysql_set_charset('utf8');" to my PHP pages that accessed server. This was in addition to setting the charset to UTF-8 in the page's meta tags.
Brilliant! Now have working simplified Chinese in my PHP pages, forms and MySQL database.
