don't try the dev version. It's unstable and is not feature complete.Try a stable version. such as this-:
https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=37469
oh yes and also try the information given in wiki as requested by @karol. (it would work for browsers such as opera, chromium   and firefox which do not have their inbuilt flash-plugin).

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).

  • Solved rEFInd does not work after update

    Hello.
Today, I updated rEFInd with yaourt.
After the update, I copied the new files in /boot/efi.
I rebooted and now rEFInd does not work.
The only message I got is:
    rEFInd - Initializing
After 2-3 minutes, the computer reboots and I got the same error message.
To boot, I had to use the UEFI shell.
First of all, is there a log file for rEFInd?
It is not easy at all to debug it when we don't have any error messages.
After that, I did the procedure to install rEFInd in /boot/efi twice without any success.
Do you know what to do to solve my problem?
    Thanks for your help.

  • Current Version Of Flash Does Not Work For Last 8 Months Or Longer

So i make flash arcades that resides in a game called Second Life the flash player it used to work great till the updates not long ago i now have to tell each person wanting to play my arcades that they have to do the following to get it to work.
    Here Is The Quote
This is a fix for people that can not move with arrow keys in game or other keys not working on the arcade it comes down to Adobe no fixing there code in there new version. Every now and again they release a new version of Flash Player and they break the code this here is a way to fix it so you can play the arcades in sl with out problems i am sorry it is taking Adobe so long to fix this i have no control over what they do i do hope they fix this soon.
Step 1. Download the uninstaller for Flash Player http://download.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/support/uninstall_flash_player.exe
The Flash Player uninstaller executes on both 64-bit and 32-bit version of the Windows operating systems.
Save the file in a location where you can find it easily after you restart your computer. For example, save it on your Windows desktop.
    Step 2. Run the uninstaller
Double-click the icon of the uninstaller that downloaded to your computer.
Follow the prompts. If you see the message "Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer?," click Yes.
Delete Flash Player files and folders.
(more in depth directions with pictures can be found here http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html#main_Download_t he_Adobe_Flash_Player_uninstaller )
Step 3. Installing a working version of Adobe Flash Player Flash Player 15.0.0.152 (Win Firefox and Mac) (132 MB)
    Direct Link http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/installers/archive/fp_15.0.0.152_archive.zi p
Save the file in a location where you can find it easily example, save it on your Windows desktop.
Step 4. Unzip the file to your desktop if you do not know how to unzip a file you can google it. Or you can download a free app called winzip or winrar are well known apps.
After you have unzipped the file you should be left with a folder called "fp_15.0.0.152_archive" open the folder and find the folder named "15_0_r0_152" ignore the folder that says debug on it.
When you are insde the "15_0_r0_152" folder double click the file flashplayer15_0r0_152_win.exe it will be the red box there will be 3 red box icons its the top one you want to install.
After you complete this action you have the choices to let adobe automatically update your flash player we recommend you say no to this then click finish. Now restart your pc and log into SL and it should be working 100% again.
    Notes:
15.0.0.152 is the latest working version of Adobe Flash Player that we know of atm if there is a new version out please let us know.
You may update your flash player and see if it is working on the latest version we recommend you check each month at least one time to see if they have done updates to the software.
If it breaks again you will need to follow these steps again until they fix there code. Some times they fix the code by the next update some times they take a month or more just depends on the people at adobe that are releasing these bad versions of Flash.
    Link to Flash Archive http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html
So i am wondering can some one pass this to a tech person to fix the current code what ever was in 15_0_r0_152 and before worked great now it don't work at all this is not some noob talking this has been tested on over 80+ different computers if not more 80 or more people have contacted me alone on the issue as i know it is one and to be honest i am getting sick of waiting on adobe to fix there code so please send this to the right department to see if they can fix there code and not let it fall on deaf ears. Or give me the exact reason why the new code does not work but the old code does work and i will see if i can fix it but i would rather it be fixed by Adobe as there are many people that want it fixed thank you.
    Sincerely,
    Deviant Taurus
PS. This happened about 3 years ago and was fixed with the next update i do not recall the version number but you guys have been releasing many new versions and it is still broken please help me and many others put this problem to rest,

  • Flash does not work with Firefox following Windows Vista update 14/5/2014.

Flash still works with IE9. I've carried out all steps in http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/flash-player-games-video-or.html, i.e. twice updated Flash to V13.0.0.214 (previously V13.0.0.206), activated Firefox Flash add-on, deleted browser data and cache and disabled hardware acceleration. Nothing fixes it! Vista SP2, Firefox 29.0.1.

Apologies for vague "does not work" from me - and sorry for delay replying. What I understand to be "rich media content" did not display. For example, all text and images in this screen clip from www.metoffice.gov.uk appeared as a single blank grey rectangle. In other websites links displayed in a basic underlined font instead of rich formatted text/images, or video and audio links were completely missing from an otherwise fully rendered webpage.
However in the last hour Firefox has starting behaving properly again without any further diagnostic efforts from me! For six days some graphics and links have not displayed in Firefox, yet IE9 has behaved perfectly. This has happened a few times before, normal service being restored (in hours rather than days) either by updating the Flash plug-in or for no apparent reason.
Any thoughts in case of future re-occurrences would be appreciated. Thanks Pat for your time and help.

  • [SOLVED] Flashplugin Does Not Work With Firefox.

    Hi, all.
Happy to have just installed Arch, after not using it for a while. It's looking as good as ever, but I can't get Flash to work.
I installed Gnash and some things work, but not many. Wanting to be able to use a full Flash implementation, I installed the Flashplugin on my 32-bit box.
When I go to the Adobe test page, I don't see any Flash. When I go to YouTube and similar, I just get a black 'box'. When I visit websites with Flash effects, these do not work and I am told I need a plugin.
When I look at Firefox's 'about:plugins' page, Flash is associated with swf files, so that looks ok.
Can anyone help me with this? If I can get it sorted, my main box may well be having an Arch install, today.
    Fingers crossed.
    Cheers,
    Chris.

    From the Arch wiki:
    "Troubleshooting
If you have Abobe Flash installed on an older system and you start playing a video which simply turns black with nothing happeing, it is most likely that your CPU does not support ISSE2. You can simply check out this by looking at your CPU flags with this command:
    # cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep flags
If sse2 is not mentioned there, then you need to install an older version of Flash (for example 10.3). "
I only have SSE, not ISSE2, so I think that may be why. I have partial success with Gnash, so will stick with that for now. At least it's open source.
    Thanks for your help, all.
    Chris.

  • Chrome Plug-in update for Flash does not work

I am a Mac OS X 10.5.8 user and I use Chrome as my standard browser. I updated the Flash Player to version 10.3.183.23 2 times now and it is still not working and showing me that I have an old version. Every time I try to update the Plug-in it installs it and then everything stays the same when I restart Chrome. Could you help me out here?

    Hi folks,
I hope you guys know that Mac OS 10.5.x have been officially dropped to support by Apple(as OS vendor) and Google(as browser vendor) while ago. So this behavior sound intentional by Chrome as same behavior as recent Safari. I tried searching around and found this  post at Google site:

    http://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/chrome/Y_s0YY2wQkQ

It's up to you if you want to try it out but please understand that the environment is at risk of security matters since all OS, browser, and plugin software do NOT provide security update for you.

  • Flash does not work on youtube after update

I use Firefox on Fedora 14 x86_64. I do not have the 32-bit applications or libraries installed. I have been having the problem for a while. I saw it with FF 3.6.14, FF 3.6.15, and FF 4 beta. I do not know if this is specifically a FF issue. Firefox operates the Adobe flash module with NS Wrapper and the problem seem to be with NS Wrapper. I do not know how the FF and the NS Wrapper projects are related.
The problem is that 90% of the time FF fails to startup the video player plugin when I visit a page with video. It plays normally once it starts but usually it just doesn't start. When it happens, there are usually no graphics drawn for the video object (no black box, no thumbnail, no video player gadget, just a big empty space). When I run from a terminal then I get the error messages listed below.

Flash works fine here on Firefox and Safari (actually 10.6 users shouldn't be using Safari as Apple doesn't support it anymore)
You said you reinstalled OS X, but that only does OS X unless you first wiped the drive of all users (and their data!) and programs.
So your issue is likely a corrupted Flash user cache file or user permissions issue in your user account.
Since you uninstalled and reinstalled Flash and the problem continues, that would suggest it's the cause.
It can likely be confirmed by logging into another user account.
You can delete your Flash cache file in the Apple menu > System Preferences also use the OnyX routine in the Step by Step fixes should clear other cache issues.

  • [SOLVED] Mic does not work on Intel ICH8 (rev 3) sound card

    Hi, folks.
I cannot get my sound card to record anything, using a built-in microphone. Audio output works just fine, though. I hope someone can help me, I have been banging my head against the wall for some time over this issue...
My laptop is Toshiba Satellite A200-1J0 (PSAE6E-04R036G3). alsamixer settings are fine, I tried supplementing additional options to /etc/modprobe.d/modprobe.conf, but no luck, tried some of the combinations (model=<> position_fix=<>).

    Hi there!
I had the very same problem with the same soundcard and found this thread.
The problem got solved for me by adding the same line as you have to /etc/modprobe.d/modprobe.conf.
However, I also had to create /etc/modprobe.d/sound.conf and add:
    alias snd-card-0 snd-hda-intel
    alias sound-slot-0 snd-hda-intel
    options snd-hda-intel model=toshiba power_save=0
Notice the difference on the "model=toshiba" part.
However, my laptop is not a Toshiba, but a Compal IFL90.
I remember that in Ubuntu I needed(a long time ago) to add a line to /etc/alsa.conf with model=toshiba. I figured it might be worth a try, and well, it did.
I hope this can help someone else.
As for the OP: "You have my thanks!"

  • Flash does not work correctly in full screen after most recent Firefox update

    == Issue
    ==
Firefox is having problems with certain web sites
    == Description
    ==
Yesterday, firefox updated itself automatically. The "what's new" screen suggested that I update Flash immediately, so I did. I had a little trouble. I eventually uninstalled Flash and re-installed with the latest version, but it is now up to date. Now flash videos will not play properly in full screen. The picture will freeze for a few seconds with the audio still playing, the screen will go blank, then the video will restart from where the audio was when the screen went blank. Sometimes Flash will crash completely and I will have to reload the page to restart the video, even not full screen. Other times I get an error message that my video driver stopped working. I have checked and my video driver is up to date.

I updated to 3.6.4 and when I went to NetFlix to watch the next show of a series, it said
    something like
    Installation complete, restart your browser.
I restarted browser, same problem. Restarted comp. Same problem.
I updated Adobe Flash 10.1, still same problem.
But able to watch some vids on other sites, but full screen gave me the big blank white screen with audio only, had to click around in the dark ( so to speak) to find the minimize button.
I did a System Restore to before the Firefox and Adobe updates.
I then did not update Firefox as recommended and went to NetFlix and wellah, i can view the movies again.
    And Full Screen is fine.
I then experimented and updated Firefox only, went to NetFlix and got same msg with no viewable shows.
So did a System Restore once more.
Staying at 3.6.3 for a while longer until I know I can watch my movies.
I don't own a TV, so this is my only form of an occasional escape.
I do hope this is figured out soon.
With what I have done, it seems to be Firefox, Not Flash.
    Good Luck to us all.
