[SOLVED] Flashplayer crash on particular website

Hello everyone. I'ma happy Archlinux user, but I'm also a basketball fan and I would like to watch game highlights and other videos on www.nba.com. Unfortunately EVERY video on this website causes my browser to crash. I tried it on 3 different PCs (with x86 and AMD64, intel, ati and nvidia graphics, and all kind of browsers), but the result is still the same. I must add that I can watch youtube and other similar sites without problems and the NBA website is the only one causing crashing for me.
If it can help I run KDEmod 4.4.1 at the moment (but with previous version I had the same problem) on all my PCs.
Is anyone able to reproduce this? Is it a problem with KDE?

Okay, enough of that. I'm on an up-to-date 64-bit Arch system with vanilla KDE and the following flashplugin. Needless to say I can watch the stuff as well!

Safari crashes on particular website

Safari has suddenly started crashing upon loading www.dallasnews.com every time. Have restarted machine but does not help. Have not had many issues with this site in the past. Tried using error console but that crashes too. Only way out isctrl-alt-delete and force quit safari.

It is working today. Worked on my Mac last night, just not my Windows machine at work. Appears to be a flash issue as it was a Sprint ad that seemed to be causing the problem.

Safari crashes after updates--website specific

Help! I installed numerous updates this morning (Safari Update 1.3.1, Java Security Update 4.0, Security Updates 2005-007 & 008, iTunes 6.0, iTunes Phone Driver 1.1, & QuickTime 7.0.3), and Safari has been crashing on one particular website all day (loyola.edu). I suspect this website is using some javascript that is incompatible with the update (as I had no problems prior to today).
I have read numerous posts and tried to solve this with no luck. However I am a fairly new and unsavvy Mac user. I have disabled java, cleared the java caches, cookies, installed AcidSearch & Unlockupd, and created a new directory according to another post. While it allowed me use the website for a greater period of time, it continues to crash.
I do not know how to read the crash report to identify the problem. Any other suggestions out there, please??? I cannot isolate what update even created the problem. Thanks for any assistance you can offer.

Adding a particular website as a shortcut on my desktop.

Basic, I know. I want to add a shortcut to a particular website to my desktop through Firefox so I can access it immediately.

You don't need to do it through Firefox.
If Firefox is your default browser here's how to do it:
Right Click on your desktop > New > Shortcut
Then you can give an address to where ever you want and name it as you like!
Another way is to bookmark the page you want. Then from bookmarks menu right click on it and choose '''copy'''. Then on your desktop right click and choose '''Paste Shortcut'''.

Why does one particular website not open on my ipad*,

Why does one particular website not open on my ipad, when it alwasys did, but the same website is available upstairs on my PC, I'm using the same remote connection but for some reason it doesn't want to open. I;ve tried refreshing etc... but nothing works.
When I bring the ipad to work the website in question opens OK.
Any suggestions??

It sounds as if maybe you have just bookmarked the wrong thing.
Probably the link you give in your post works if so use and bookmark that.

Firefox (or any browser) will not load one particular website. It shows NO error message, just remains blank

I have the site bookmarked and I try through google as well. Neither Safari or Opera will load this particular website for me. I had this problem in an internet cafe this summer but when i got home it seemed to go away, now it's back. No matter which way I try I cannot get it to open this website. i am using a Macbook pro. Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
You can remove all stored data from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry (Show All History or History sidebar) or via the about:permissions page.
Using "Forget About This Site" will remove everything like bookmarks, cookies, passwords, cache, history, and exceptions from that domain, so be cautious and if you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make a note of those passwords and bookmarks.<br />
You can't recover from that "forget" unless you have a backup of the affected files.
It doesn't have any lasting effect, so if you revisit such a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.

I have created an identity with that particular server, an access policy linked to a particular identity and custom URL category for the specific website. But still, the
server can browse to all websites.

You mean you want to be able to get the # of visitors to your web site? There's plenty of web server log parsers out there to get stats or simple page counters.
If you mean you want to be able to get the # of visitors to any web site, then you can't... not without some serious hacking, which last I checked would be illegal in most places. Unless the site owner publishes the info for some reason.

Since yesterday clicking on a link in an email message firefox doesn't open a new tab with that particular website.

I am using Firefox 3.6.13 on a 2009 Mac Pro computer (OSX 10.6.6). Up until yesterday when I clicked on a link in an email message Firefox opened a new tab and switched to that particular website. Since yesterday Firefox doesn't do that. I have Firefox set up as my default browser. I tried to change my default browser to Safari, then everything worked fine. Clicking on a link in a message a new tab has opened in Safari with that particular website. My problem is, that I like Firefox a bit more than Safari and I'd like to know what to do to restore that functionality to Firefox.

It's a good idea to try disabling Flash completely and see whether the problem continues. If it does, then my guess is incorrect. To test that, open this tab:

Firefox crashes on certain websites.

Recently, I had a malware/virus attack on my computer from XP Anti-Spyware. There were many pop-ups from XP Anti-Spyware. Then later I lost connectivity to the internet. I used Norton Security Scan to get rid of the malwares and viruses. After using the scan, my Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox Internet did not work. At first the pages wouldn't even load. Then we contacted a Norton Security, who tried to remotely go through my computer to try to fix the problem. The technician rebooted my computer, reseted my internet, and also tried to reinstall Mozilla (safe mode) and Internet Explore. Well we were able to get both internets up and running. Only problem is that Mozilla crashes will work for a minute and crash or when on a certain website it will crash suddenly. I'm able to get on Facebook without it crashing. But websites like Yahoo, or when I search on Google, the internet crashes. I was not able to get on my email through Mozilla, instead I had to go through Google Chrome. Can you please help me please. Also, I removed Norton Security System, to have more mobility online. Thanks.
