[SOLVED]Get [FAIL] when loading user specified modules.

That is it, when the system is booting i get a [FAIL] message when loading user specified modules after upgrading udev, and the kmod new module handling or something as say in the news. I dont have a modprobe.conf or a modprobe.conf.pacsave file either and creating a modprobe.conf file doesn't solve the problem. The strange thing is that the modules are loaded anyways. I mean the ones that are specified in rc.conf. I dont know if the system [FAIL] to load that modules or others...The system works fine for now too.
Thanks.
PD: sorry if you notice my poor english.

I had the same problem and removing the governor performance from rc.conf solved the problem. I tried however to remove both governors and only leave powernow-k8 (this is the only one that works for me) leaving rc.conf like this:
MODULES=(brcmsmac powernow-k8)
When I boot the laptop and check which governors are available and being used I get the following:
[netlak@soulrebel ~]$ cpufreq-info
cpufrequtils 008: cpufreq-info (C) Dominik Brodowski 2004-2009

CPUs which need to have their frequency coordinated by software: 0

available frequency steps: 2.10 GHz, 1.50 GHz, 800 MHz
available cpufreq governors: performance
current policy: frequency should be within 800 MHz and 2.10 GHz.
The governor "performance" may decide which speed to use
within this range.
current CPU frequency is 2.10 GHz.
This like as if the ondemand governor would not be available but when unplugging the laptop and check again I get this:
[netlak@soulrebel ~]$ cpufreq-info
cpufrequtils 008: cpufreq-info (C) Dominik Brodowski 2004-2009
Report errors and bugs to [email protected], please.

This shows that the ondemand module can be autoloaded when needed, so I leave rc.conf only with powernow-k8.

  • [SOLVED] Mkinitcpio fails to load every single module...

    Hello,
    This morning I tried to upgrade my system like every other day, except that this morning, mkinitcpio could not create both fallback and arch images which means I can't boot on my system without a livecd and a chroot now.
    Here is the error list :
    https://gist.github.com/Depado/5795908
    I don't know what happened. I tried to run "pacman -S linux" in chroot but still the same problem.
    Is there something I'm doing wrong ? Did I miss an update on the website ? Do I have to rewrite mkinitcpio.conf ?
    Thanks...
    SOLVED :
    Reinstalling kmod, udev and mkinitcpio solved the problem of building the image.
    Last edited by Depado (2013-06-17 10:51:22)

    I managed to build the image properly. Now I get a "Waiting for device /dev/sda3" issue...
    EDIT : I think that's because I didn't mounted /boot when I built the image. Problem solved.

  • [SOLVED] Loading user-defined modules [FAIL]

    Since the linux upgrade that rolled out on Nov 9, I have encountered an error during boot that says loading user-defined modules  [FAIL].  I read a post mentioning the problem being related to the /boot dir being on a separate partition (https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=129970).  Mine is not on a separate partition, so no booting to a live disk will fix that problem for me.  Another post mentions the problem causing loss of USB support (https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=130030)  which is, as of yet, unresolved.  I For all the people upgrading to linux3.1.1 with no problems, do you know what my problem would be?
    I have tried upgrading 3 times but each time it kills my wireless support completely.  All else seems to be working fine.
    Does anyone know what is causing this? or how to fix it or work around it?  I updated my mirrorlist and ran pacman -Syyu but this problem is still there 2 weeks later.  I've been running pacman -U /var/cache/pacman/pkg/linux-3.0.7* and rebooting after every system update.
    Please help.
    Thanks.

    Thanks.  I didn't realize I had to get a new driver every time.  I've gone through several kernel upgrades so far and haven't had any problems.  That fixed it, though.

  • SQL Connection Failed for SCCM 2012 R2 (Unable to load user-specified certificate)

    We've recently completed an upgrade from SCCM 2012 SP1 to 2012 R2 and have been running in the new environment for about a week. As of this morning, The consoles failed to connect to the CAS' and one of the Primary Site's database. The issue was resolved
    easily enough by addressing a certificate issue in SQL, but I'm left wondering if there's a correlation between the SP1-to-R2 upgrade that would cause the cert to fail. Anyone have experience with this?

    We got the same certificate related error events after a fresh install of SCCM 2012 R2 on a new server. It happened during the first reboot after SCCM was installed. In the Certificates mmc, I right-clicked on the certificate used by SQL and chose Manage
    Private Keys. Giving the service account that runs the MSSQLSERVER service read rights to the private key allowed SQL to start. However, after a day or so we rebooted the server again, and SQL wouldn't start. Something had removed the service account's read
    permission. Since the SCCM configuration wasn't that far along, we uninstalled SCCM. After giving the service account read rights again, and rebooting several times over a few days, and SQL started every time. We then installed SCCM 2012 R2 again, and checked
    the certificate's permissions before rebooting. The service account still had read permissions when the install completed, but as soon as the server was rebooted, it lost the permissions again.
    The Certificates mmc was then used to request a second computer certificate and then SQL was configured to use that new certificate via SQL Server Configuration Manager. After several days and a number of reboots the SQL services have started normally every
    time so the second certificate seems to have fixed the issue. I have kept the original certificate for fear that removing it will cause whatever part of SCCM 2012 R2 that modifies the original certificate to start removing permissions from the new certificate
    as well.

  • Failed to load nvidia kernel module

    When I try to start x it outputs the following error
    Failed to load nvidia kernel module
    I'm trying to use the new nvidia-beta drivers from AUR but the same error occurs with ordinary nvidia drivers and the nv drivers. Under xorg.conf I currently have 'nvidia' next to driver and I've also put nvidia in the modules section of rc.conf
    when I try to modprobe nvidia is just outputs 'module nvidia not found'

    Ended up booting into gnome using the vesa driver (max resolution was 800x600) and downloading the new nvidia beta setup from the nvidia website then going back into terminal and running it. Just had to download make from pacman and it compiled a new nvidia kernel module for me it seems. All works well with the new driver now.
    Thanks.

  • [Solved] Catalyst fails to load kernel module

    I have just been through the Catalyst install guide, I installed from the Vi0L0 repos rather than building myself.
    Everything appeared to go fine, however fglrx fails to load when I reboot. The xorg log contains;
    fglrx(0): atiddxDriScreenInit failed. Probably kernel module missing or incompatible
    fglrx(0): **********************************************************
    fglrx(0): * DRI initialization failed

    fglrx(0): * 2D and 3D acceleration disabled
    fglrx(0): **********************************************************
    Is this recoverable? Or does this mean that the current Vi0L0 module has not been built for my kernel (3.11.5-1-ARCH)?

    This issue has now been resolved after the update to xorg 1.14
    lsmod | grep fglrx
    shows fglrx is not loaded, and:
    modprobe fglrx
    returns with;
    modprobe: ERROR: could not insert 'fglrx': Exec format error
    Does that indicate a 32/64 bit issue?

  • [SOLVED] XOrg fails to load Nvidia driver on startup

    Hi,
    I'm having a fairly strange issue where XOrg is failing to load my driver when I start up my laptop. I'm using kdm, but this is causing it to fail. However, doing a simple

    Hmmmm, that doesn't seem to be the issue. I have a nvidia geforce gtx 670mx. The nvidia website does link me to the 340xx driver for that card, but downgrading to that version still has the same issue. I suspect the issue is in Xorg, since it seems to load the module, but then decides it doesn't have a driver to run for some reason.

    Hello Experts,
    we did some changes in the previosly uploded version of IPC AP 7.0  customer user exit Jar file in eclipse.
    While uploading the new modified jar through transaction /SAPCND/UE_DEV in CRM we are getting error :" installation of module <Jar file name > has failed ".

  • JSP session getting destroyed when second user logs in

    Hi,
    I am facing a session related problem in a small login program in jsp. I am using three jsp pages, login.jsp (user logs in), page1.jsp (creates a session and stores username) and page2.jsp (accesses session).
    Login.jsp:
    No jsp actually. Just a simple html form.
    Page1.jsp:
    String name=request.getParameter("Name");
    session=request.getSession(true);
    session.setAttribute("Name",name);
    Page2.jsp:
    session=request.getSession(false);
    if(session.isNew())
    System.out.println("new session created");
    String name=session.getAttribute("Name").toString();
    As expected, it works like session getting set at page1 and used at page2. It works good if users log in one by one. The problem arises when 2 (or more users with different logins) try to access the page at same time. When a new user logs in, the previous user session gets destroyed (session.isNew() becomes true and session Id changes).
    Is it the way I am using sessions (missing something), or there is some setting in tomcat server to specify maximum number of logins (sessions that can be handled).
    Regards
    Kamal

    Hi,
    Thanks for reply, but I guess the problem is not clear. Let me explain..
    A user logs in, he reaches first page (page1.jsp), here session is getting set. Then user goes to page2.jsp where application retrieves the information from session and uses it. It works all well.
    When two (or more) user logs in.. First user logs in, he reaches page 1, session is set. But then another user logs in (different id) and a session is set for him as well. Now the problem here is that session for first user gets destroyed at this point, which is unexpected (two sessions should not conflict, on different machines).
    Additionally, the problem does not happen necessarily at second login. eg. sometimes 4 users log in and when fifth one logs in, fourth gets logged out (session gets destroyed).
    I am not able to figure out, whether the problem is in code (given in first post) or there is some tomcat setting responsible for this behavior.
    Regards
    Kamal

  • [Solved] Xorg fails when using Vmware.

    I've recently ran into a problem with ArchLinux running as a guest in VMware,
    I'd try load xorg and it would crash so I thought I'd install another version of ArchLinux in another machine.
    All went well until I installed
    xf86-video-vmware & svga-dri & open-vm-tools and added # MODULES = (... vmwgfx ...)
    So I'm finding it hard to figure out if this is a common issue (I've googled around and couldn't find anything), or something to do with one of the packages I've installed.
    Suggestions as to what I can do to fix this problem would be appreciated,
    Thanks and have a nice day.

  • Getting failed to checkout an application module error

    We are using uix-bc4j to develop applications. we have encountered following error on our production system. So this is kind of critical.
    Can somebody pls let me know as to why this error occurs and pls. suggest a solution for this issue.
    Jdev version - 9.0.3
    db - Oracle 9i
    Middle tier - unix.
    The problem seems to appear from yesterday itself (this application working fine for more than 6 months) after clicking a particular page of the application. And there is no regular pattern for this error.
    There were more than 300000 entries in PS_TXN. We deleted all records from PS_TXN bounced oc4j on middle tiers. Still
    the problem continues.
    Do anybody have any idea as to why this error is occuring.

  • VS seems to get stuck on loading user settings

    This is my first time to run VS2012 on a newly installed Windows 7 box. The installation went smoothly.  After I started VS, it showed the following message soon:
    Microsoft Visual Studio is loading user settings. This may take a few minutes.
    It has remained there for about half an hour.  The process devenv.exe has been using about 25% CPU time on a quard-core machine. How long should  I wait before killing the process?
    Any tip will be greatly appreciated.
    Hong

    Hi Hong,
    Thanks for your post.
    When open visual studio the first time, it may take a while to load your user settings. But your process seems taking too much time. Not sure what is the reason.
    Since you can use it and it starts quickly, I'll mark this thread.
    If you have any problem or updates, please feel free to let me know.
    Regards,

  • My fans get loud when loading certain pages on the web?

    My fan on my pc goes haywire, and gets loud when I load certain pages on the web...maybe pages with High definition? (Not sure)
    Anyway, it only happens when I go to certain sites...or load videos etc. on like youtube etc. This just started happening recently, and has gotten worse in the last few days. Is it possible that my processor cannot handle the grahics or High Def...that Firefox 4.0 provides?

    All that means is that Firefox 4 is throwing a heavy load on your CPU, causing it to run hotter for a while.
    But you might be able to quiet your computer by opening it up and giving the CPU's heat sink a thorough cleaning. The dirtier the heat sink is, the less efficient it is--forcing the fan to run faster to keep the CPU cool.

    Works here v0.1.34-1. What version are you running?
    Does it occur at boot and/or manual start?
    Have you checked colord's bug tracker? If there's not a report there it's probably worth reporting as even if you have a set-up issue, it shouldn't really core dump.
