[SOLVED] Hotkeys still not working in Gnome 3.6
Hey guys. So my hotkeys haven't worked since I first installed arch on this machine. At first I ignored it, but as I've been working from home more lately it's really starting to irk me. I read that it was a problem with the gnome-settings-daemon and that it would be fixed in gnome 3.6. Well here I am with gnome 3.6 and it still isn't working.
I found a package called gnome-settings-daemon-updates in the repos and gave it a try. Still no luck. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it but I've got an AMD 6850 card and I wasn't able to get X server working without keeping my xorg at 1.13. I don't know if that is what is holding me back from juicy hot key goodness but I really need it.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

EDIT: So apparently I'm dumber than I thought. A reboot fixed me right up.

I solved the problem by creating this file
$ sudo nano /usr/share/applications/nautilus.desktop
then , put these lines inside the new file

I have upgraded gnome from 2.26 to 2.28. Almost everything is perfect (in fact apps start faster than before) but empathy does not connect to msn or any other protocol.

I've lit windows detect the operating program for this device on the internet, it said "Windows has detected that the operating program of this device is up to date. As this screenshot shows.
What should I do because nothing lift to try? If you have a look at the ninth drivers in my previous message, you will see that no other drivers for Bluetooth lift.

Yes, if you had a look at my first post, you would have seen that I really have downloaded and installed the drivers suitable for bluetooth, which was only Dell
Wireless 1702 WiFi + Bluetooth Driver, which made the bluetooth recognized by Windows 7(64Bit). However, the bluetooth in the device manager still has an exclamation mark as it is shown in the device manager.
I don't have any other drviers which can do more than the what Dell
Wireless 1702 WiFi + Bluetooth Driver did because I have tried all the drivers listed under 'Network', exept the what are for Etherent.
Yes, when I have tried adding the bluetooth between two laptops(Mohammad and Nasreen). the bluetooth was added for both laptops as you see in these screenshots below:
The Bluetooth devices of Nasreen's laptop whose bluetooth is having some problems in Device mangage.
The Bluetooth devices of Mohammad's laptop whosse Bluetooh is defined well in device manager.
But there is still problem in the device managre as shown in the screenshot listed before.
Second: (Important) That when I want to send files or recieving between two bluetooth added in either laptop, I could send them. Also, when I open the Mohammad's bluetooth added in Nansreen's laptop( screenshot
below), I can show what is inside it.
However, when I open the the Nasreen's bluetooth addd in Mohammad's laptop, I noticed no reponse at all because as you see that disconnected is written in fornt "Nasreen-Pc" as this screenshot:
Although sometimes Nasreen-Pc gets connected as screenshot below, but I am still not able to open the Bluetooth folder of Nasreen-pc from Mohammad-pc. When trying to do that, no response is there.
In other times, Nasreen-pc gets connected for a while, but it comes back disconnected.
Third:: I noticed that the name of Laptop whose Bluetooth was added listed in 'My computer' for the laptop whose Bluetooth is having some problems in the device manager.(First Screen shot below) However,
the name of the laptop whose Bluetooth is having problems wasn't listed on other laptop's "my computer"(Second Screen shot below)
Finally: : when I clicked "right-click" on "Nasreen-PC" and then clicking on "detecting and troublshooting issues", I found that windows informed me that :

Additionally, the service is installed only if a compatible device is installed (or paired).
Therefore, you are seeing the error.
If you are using the Bluetooth L2CAP Interface and Bluetooth Remote Control services and not able to install the services, you can try unpairing the device, restart the PC, pair the device and then check. If that too fails, you need to install a suitable
driver, sometimes even other OEM drivers solve the issue. You can Bing/Google about this. You can also contact Dell Support for more information.

I really didn't understand what you mean with in your first part the service is installed only if a compatible device is installed (or paired).
The Bluetooth is integrated with
the laptop, then where other services will come from, all service are related to Bluetooth.
If there are some additional services not related to Bluetooth,
then how can I either let them functioning well or disable them in order to get rid of the yellow exclamation mark
on the name of my laptop in the Device and printers.

P505-S8980 BluRay DVD Avatar still not working.
I downloaded the supposed patch for the BluRay that will allow the Avatar disc to run. I think the info is showing in my BD software that it's been updated. Yet it is still not working. Any process that I missed? Thanks.
I've solved this same issue using the Microsoft Fixit for the DVD-BLURAY and It worked just well.
My computer is a QOSMIO X75-ASP7302KL I hope this help you to solve yours. -
B110a black in still not working after trying all recommended solutions

Black ink still not working after spending many hours trying to sort. I've cleaned the printhead carefull several times (is immaculate now) and run the system clean up and alignment functions several many times too. I've cleaned the metal connecting points. I wiggled things carefully. I've attempted printing multiple pages in b/w in case it was going to take a while to get the ink flowing again. I've replaced one (expensive) new black cartridge with another brand new (expensive) cartridge and still nothing. This machine is probably out of warranty but seriously not very old. It really ought to be working okay. We use it regularly a little bit every week. Any ideas?The document here has troubleshooting steps that may help resolve black not printing on your Photosmart b110a. Be sure to check the vents as shown in solution six, step three. If the above does not resolve the problem the post here may help.

The left side touch of my phone screen was not working. Was not able to type numbers 1, 2 and alphabets Q, W etc.
I repaired with SUS after taking back up with PC companion.
While restoring the backup, i got RESTORE ERROR, and almost everything got restore except few apps and CONTACTS, which is the most important thing in a mobile .
---> TOUCH IS STILL NOT WORKING <----

SO HERE IS HOW YOU CAN RESTORE YOUR DATA:
Get your Fullbackupdata-Contactfile.
1. First go to your backupfile: (C:\Users\YourUserName\Documents\Sony\Sony PC Companion\SomeNameDependsOnLanguage\
2. Make a Copy of your backup-File (crtl+c, crtl+v)
3. We want to change the file extension, so make sure you see it. If you don't see a .dbk at the end of your file, go in the explorer window in the left upper corner on organise -> Folder and search options. Change to view and then deselect "Hide extensions for known File types"
4. Rename (F2) the file to backup.zip
5. Open the zip with 7zip or something similar.
6. Navigate to Applications\com.sonyericsson.android.contactsimport and get the fullbackupdata file which is lying in this folder.
7. Put this file on your Desktop.
8.Download this jar-File: http://ge.tt/64TJmne/v/0?c
9. Put the .jarFile also on your desktop.
10. Doubleclick the .jar-File. After a few seconds a new file with the name "restore.tar" should show up (If not check if your fullbackupdata-File really has the name "fullbackupdata" and is on the desktop)
11. Open the .tarfile with 7Zip
12. Navigate to restore.tar\apps\com.sonyericsson.android.contactsimport\f\
13. Copy full_backup_vcard.vcf to the Desktop.
If everything worked you're finished, you can open this .vcf File via Windows-contacts -> import or put it directly on your phone and import it there (open Contacts. Settingsbutton -> impot)
If you don't trust my .jar file, you can also download the github-project follow their orders and compile it yourself.

G62-355dx cpu replaced still not working
My g62-355dx is still not working after replacing the cpu (thats what the blink code was....caps lock blinking once every few seconds) so after replacing the cpu I am still getting the same blink code....tried the hard reset before replacing the cpu but havent tried it after....I just need to know if its possibly the mother board and if a motherboard from a different g62 model will work in my 355dx....

View Solution.This is about the third post of its type I have fielded in the last month or so and I will repeat what I have always maintained. It is almost never the CPU, regardless of the blink code. It is almost always the motherboard. Your by far safest bet is to replace like with like although likely another g62-300 series motherboard will work, if it has any feature yours did not or vice versa it may take some case mods to make it fit and you want to avoid that.

Your motherboard part number can be found inside the memory compartment. Post back if you want detailed help finding a replacement. -
My BT mail has been out of action for three days now, reading My BT account news section the problem has been resolved. My email is still not working, i have cleared cache and cookies as suggested and also reset login password but still not working. Can anyone help ????

Because of the recent problems with BT Mail it seems as though BT have put some accounts back onto Yahoo. This would appear to be causing problems with the settings on phones and some computers.

and you should use the password that you use to log onto webmail.
If you have a look at the following thread, the poster deleted the accounts from his devices and reset them up. I am not sure as I have not seen what the device is logging onto but I suspect it is using the "old" settings for BTYahoo.
If you do decide to do that be aware that if your account is a POP3 account you will need to back up your emails that you have saved on your devices as you may loose them.
If it is an IMAP account you should not have any problems with loosing them as they should still be on the server, which you can confirm by logging on via webmail.
Once the problems have been resolved and you are re-migrated back to BTMail you will probably need to change the settings on your device again so that you are using the BTMail settings and not the BTYahoo ones.

Still not working. Landing page error
Hi, my Email is still not working. I was migrated last week, changed password as instructed and everything was ok.
Since it went down I can still log in but get this pop up

I saw a link in aother thread where you put your Email in and it tells you which service you're on and I get a not recognised message.
I did the live chat help yesterday around this time and was told it would be be passed to a supervisor as a matter of urgency and fixed within 24 hours.
Any suggestions?This has turned into a complete and utter farce now.
I was able to access my email through windows live, and also on my tablet after doing a manual setup.
Yesterday Evening, almost exactly on the 48 hours to the second since previous call, BT phoned me.
"can you please log into bt.com"
"ok, done it"
"click on email"
"done it, same landing page error message"
"I'll put you on hold while I look it up"
10 minutes later
"hello I'll pass it on to technical team, someone will call you back
"pardon?"
"I am informing technical team, they will call you"
"when?"
"they will call sometime, have a good evening"
5 minutes later phone rings, same person "log in and describe screen so I can tell technical"
"they took screenshots the other day"
"tell me what is on screen"
I did it and he went, again saying technical would call me.
No further to solving it and as from later on last evening I can no longer acces mail through Windows Live or my tablet, I'm getting wrong password message, can still log on bt.com though.
When they try to take my next monthly payment from bank BTare going to get the message "access denied" -
Some Javascript still not working in 3.6.15
I reported this for 3.6.14 but it's still a problem in 3.6.15, so I'm posting this separately to ensure it is seen by the FF tech folks. Onload Javascript routine is still not working when the page reloads, yet the reset button that runs the same script does work. Onload also works in IE8, so this is a Firefox bug. This is a problem for my website's order form, so I hope this can be fixed soon!
I've recently come across a reoccurring problem with Javascript hyperlinks at various websites, and it's become quite an irritant.
I encountered the problem for the first time at allclassical.org, at their Listen Now tab at the top of the page.

This is the first time I've ever had a serious (seriously exasperating, anyhow) problem with Firefox...and I've been using it since back when it was Netscape. Something weird is going on.
I really don't think it's my system at fault. I've just got through reformatting my hard drive and reinstalling my OS. Afterwards I noted that initially the Listen Now tab at AllClassical was working, but after installing Java Runtime Environment and other software the problem represented itself.
I'm running WinXP w/ SP3 on a relatively new Gigabyte AMD (Phenom II X2) system, with 4 GB of Corsair memory.
I really wish this problem could be solved. Firefox is my favorite browser, mainly due to how bookmarks are allowed to be handled. -
IOS6 WIFI bug, still not work now, exhausted,help...
Been like this a week now, tried every possiable way still not any help at all, it can connect the wifi, internet works for 1or 2 minuts then will faile again, changed one router and tried all different settings as still not work, someone told me they don't have this problem they are using different router,maybe it's because IOS6 have sort of confict with some brand router? I am using TPlink, should I keep invest different router and try? Or should I wait for bug fixed?
Apple didn't give any suggestion to customer and time schedule for bug fixed, this is really **** me off...
I will try to visit apple store to check if they can change a new one with IOS5 for me.They will not change you back to iOS 5. I asked.
I spent almost 1 week trying to resolve this. Reboot the ipad, reboot my router, delete the network, rejoin the network. Nothing seems to work. I called the Apple support, spent 2 days. After trying every single solution (that I've already done before calling.. duhhh)..
They told me to:
- Go to iTunes.Back up all your data, transfer all purchases to your computer. Of course when I tried to transfer all my purchases, they stuck for hours, then crash everything. I had to redo this 3 times. HOURS!!!
- Restore your iPad from your iTunes. It will erase everything in your iPad, then start fresh as new
- Turn off your iPad
- Turn off your router, give it 10-15 minutes, turn on your router
- Turn on your iPad, join the network
Even though finally it looks ok. I am still going to return this iPad and get a replacement. I just don't feel confident with the device anymore. I just bought my iPad less than 3 months, still got the box. The support told me I could swap my iPad, all I need is to see the Apple Genius. So I made appointment, otherwise the Genius won't see you.
I got tons of questions again from the Genius. He said it is my router problem. Basically, I have a crappy router that came from my internet provider. He said that since they opened the store, he only knew TWO people came in with WIFI issue. I told him, all my other devices connect just fine... but of course, they're "oranges" not Apple.
I thought I'll be getting my replacement right away, but no.. Genius had to place an order first, and they will call me again, and I have to make another appointment to pick it up. I wonder why they don't have one in stock. It's the NEW iPad!!! I hope they're not getting my replacement from some kinda refurbished factory.
This is my first purchase with Apple. So far it is not a pleasant experience. -

i got a new iphone 4s on friday, people told me i needed to connect this to the itunes asap.
i have had a ipod for 4 years and had no problem connecting to itunes before.
at first my computer would not find the iphone so i looked up tips from apple and other internet sources ... after deleting temp files my computer picked up my iphone but itunes didnt... i kept getting a pop up when going on to itunes saying "this iphone cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the itunes installer to remove itunes, then install itunes again.
So i did i did this serveral times and the pop still keeps coming up and everytime i reinstall itunes i have to delete temp files for my computer to pick my iphone up. i contacted apple and an adviser sent me a link to follow to delete itunes and other in a order which i did several times and still not worked.
i tried my iphone on my mums computer and it has picked it up but in my mums itunes i want my itunes as i have purchased many songs. now my ipod wont even register to itunes. i also get a pop up from windows saying Host process for windows services stopped working and was closed ... i ahve followed all the advice for that even a clear up on my computer and still nothing. you can even find apple mobile device anywhere on the computer tho my mobile is charging when plugged in. i have tried everything that apple reccomends anyone able to help

I would start your troubleshooting with the article below for issues of not being able to log in to your Mac. Start with booting up in to Safe Boot as well as resetting PRAM on your Mac. If that does not work, then verify the hard drive with booting to the Recover HD and go to Disk Utility to verify it.
