[SOLVED] How change language in Cinnamon Desktop Environment

Hi,
I wanted to change the language of cinnamon but I do not see any option to change the language. I have installed cinnamon-translations.
Thanks for all help

Things changed recently with the introduction of the "mintlocale" package in Linux Mint, which now handles this in Cinnamon.
For now, to add new locales you need to still use the /etc/locale.gen and locale-gen way of adding them.
To change language used, you need the mintlocale package installed.

  • How change language

Hi all. I have short question. In my work I use Mac OS X Leopard in english language, of course I use iWork 09 and right now I working with english interface. My question is how change interface language on example polish language, and keep english language in Mac OS X. Any know how do this?
    Thanks

In the Pages Info on my English language OSX 10.5.6 all the languages are spelled out in full, not abbreviated as in the above example, which is in Tiger.
Also all the languages are checked but that doesn't change your menus and Pages' GUI. To do that you will have to go to the +System Preferences > International…+ and change your language to Polski by dragging it to the top of the list.
I have done this before for Norsk Bokmål. Be careful it does change the language throughout Pages but odd things happened when I tried to change it back. The Norsk stuck in some of the palletes like the Media Browser and I eventually had to restart my computer to shake it off.
    You may have better luck.

  • How change language to Spanish in Pages 09

I need to change language frecuently in pages, key note and works. But I haven´t found the way.
    Help is welcome

You select the text you want to be Spanish or French and make it the language you want in the Text Inspector.
It is then part of the Text style. If you want you can make a Paragraph Style which has the language as part of it in the Styles Drawer.

  • Change language of CC Desktop

How can I change the language of the CC Desktop App (Win) to English when installed on a German system?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
CC Desktop App will always pick up the OS(system) language. So its UI will always be German for you. However you can get other apps downloaded by it in English. To do this, click on gear icon in top right corener of CC Desktop App and then on preferences. Click on apps tab on the preferences and dialogue and change the App Language dropdown Selection to English.

  • Coldfusion server monitor in Japanese: how change language?

    Hi,
I have a coldfusion 10 developer edition installed.
In my admin panel I have english language. But my server monitor is in Japanese. I don't know why.
How can I change the language of the monitor?

    Hi Giovanni,
There are two ways to change it back to English on server level:-
    1) Check your server locale and change it to anything but japanese.
    2) Take a backup and rename smresource_en.xml to smresource_jp.xml in CFIDE\administrator\monitor. Restart ColdFusion.

  • How change language in full dokument?

    Hi,
I work in CS2 (Win XP) and started making a booklet in Swedish. Not until I finished I realised that my (English) CS2 had the default language English UK selected. Is there any way to change the already written text to Swedish in one swoop? I can mark the text (in each textholderframe) and change it but it takes time so I'm looking for a shortcut. Anyone knows how?
    Thank you!

You can use Replace for that.
In the Find Format, select "English UK" in the Advanced Character Format panel. In the Change Format, select Swedish. Be sure there is *no text at all* in the two edit boxes (there might be a space somewhere) and that the search range is set to Document. Press "Change All". Done.

  • [SOLVED] How Do I Prepare Windows Recovery Environment on Windows 10. Taking Backup Measures on Your Windows Using ReagentC Tool and PowerShell

    Howdy,
I'm trying to enable my system with WinRE but all to no avail. What could be wrong?
The partition layout is as follows:
    PS C:\Windows\system32> Get-Partition -DiskNumber 4
    DiskId: \\?\scsi#disk&ven_msft&prod_virtual_disk#2&2e87576f&0&000002#{53f56307-b6bf-11d0-94f2-00a0c91efb8b}
    PartitionNumber DriveLetter Offset Size Type
    1 1048576 500 MB Recovery
    2 525336576 100 MB System
    3 630194176 128 MB Reserved
    4 E 764411904 95 GB Basic
    5 102769885184 4.29 GB Recovery
I formatted this 1st recovery partition into FAT32 and mounted the volume as R:
    PS C:\Windows\system32> Get-Partition -DiskNumber 4 -PartitionNumber 1 | Format-Volume -FileSystem FAT32 -NewFileSystemL
    abel RECOVERY -Force -Confirm:$false
Then I created the storage folder for the Recovery Environment on this R: volume:
    PS C:\Windows\system32> mkdir "R:\Recovery\WindowsRE"
    Directory: R:\Recovery
    Mode LastWriteTime Length Name
    d----- 13.01.2015 20:15 WindowsRE
And copied the WinRE.wim file from the storage folder on the Windows partition:
    PS C:\Windows\system32> xcopy /H E:\Windows\System32\Recovery\Winre.wim R:\Recovery\WindowsRE\
    E:\Windows\System32\Recovery\winRE.wim
    1 File(s) copied
Finally, I attempted to enable the copied WinRE and registed it in Windows like that:
    PS C:\Windows\system32> ReAgentc.exe /setreimage /path R:\Recovery\WindowsRE\ /target E:\Windows
    Directory set to: \\?\GLOBALROOT\device\harddisk4\partition1\Recovery\WindowsRE
    REAGENTC.EXE: Operation Successful.
However, checking the status with Reagent returns that WinRE is DISABLED:
    PS C:\Windows\system32> ReAgentc.exe /info /target E:\Windows
Windows Recovery Environment (Windows RE) and system reset configuration
    Information:
    Windows RE status: Disabled
    Windows RE location:

    Custom image location:
    Custom image index: 0
    REAGENTC.EXE: Operation Successful.
    And also:
    PS C:\Windows\system32> .\ReAgentc.exe /info
Windows Recovery Environment (Windows RE) and system reset configuration
    Information:
    Windows RE status: Disabled
    Windows RE location:

    Recovery image index: 4
    Custom image location:
    Custom image index: 0
    REAGENTC.EXE: Operation Successful.
Why is that? What am I doing wrong here?
How do I properly prepare OS for recovery?
Well this is the world we live in And these are the hands we're given...

The target drive with location of WinRE.wim file MUST be NTFS formatted.
Here's what you need to do to enable WinRE.wim that is located on another partition (Partition 1 in my case):
    1. Disable the current setup:
    C:\Windows\system32>reagentc /disable
    REAGENTC.EXE: Operation Successful.
    2. Check the status:
    C:\Windows\system32>reagentc /info
Windows Recovery Environment (Windows RE) and system reset configuration
    Information:
    Windows RE status: Disabled
    Windows RE location:
Boot Configuration Data (BCD) identifier: 00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000
    Recovery image location: \\?\GLOBALROOT\device\harddisk4\partition5\Recovery
    Recovery image index: 1
    Custom image location:
    Custom image index: 0
    REAGENTC.EXE: Operation Successful.
    3. Make sure that C:\Windows\System32\Recovery\ReAgent.xml contains zeroes in location elements.
    This is a proper config:
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8' standalone='yes'?>
    <WindowsRE version="2.0">

    R:\>reagentc /enable
REAGENTC.EXE: Windows RE must be installed on a simple volume formatted using NTFS.
That's what you'll get if it is formatted into NTFS:
    R:\>reagentc /enable
    REAGENTC.EXE: Operation Successful.
    7. Check the status:
    R:\>reagentc /info

Your Windows setup has just been enabled with WinRE pre-boot recovery environment located on the first partition of your drive:
    8. Specify location of OS Image file (the install.wim one copied from Windows Setup DVD):
    R:\>reagentc /setosimage /path \\?\Volume{A235FAFF-A690-11E4-95DC-00155D095900}\Recovery /index 1 /target C:\Windows

    Recovery image location: \\?\GLOBALROOT\device\harddisk4\partition5\Recovery
    Recovery image index: 1
    Custom image location:
    Custom image index: 0
    REAGENTC.EXE: Operation Successful.
Your Windows Recovery Environment is now located on the 1st partition of 4th disk drive and recovery image file the can be used to re-image Windows installation from that WinRE environment is located on the 5th partition of the same 4th disk.

  • [Solved] How to add launchers to Desktop of gnome 3 ?

    Hi,
I have gnome 3 installed. I have enabled adding files in desktop. Now my desktop shows home icon and trash. Now i want to add some existing application launcher to desktop. For example i have chromium browser installed and i have added it to favorites. I want to add launcher to desktop as a icon, so that i can click on chrome icon in desktop and use chromium browser. I searched on the google a lot but no luck

It is now solved. I installed extensions from here . These extensions make available gnome 2 features in gnome 3 by using native gnome 3 code and not by making to fall back to gnome 2. But these extensions doesn't have one feature i am looking for , which is launchers. For that only i found was to install gnome-panel. Which is a gnome2 thing. Unfortunately i couldn't find any gnome 3 things that would do this. So i installed gnome-panel which contains gnome-desktop-item-edit file. Then i ran the following to create a launcher :
    gnome-desktop-item-edit --create-new ~/Desktop
But the problem is that the site says it might break with gnome 3 updates.

  • [SOLVED]LibreOffice changed language, can't turn back to english.

Hi, so I installed LibreOffice about two weeks ago and it has worked just fine and dandy until today when I tried opening a Microsoft Word document, it loaded but the workspace was black with white letters and it's Afrikaans or something similar, my question is if there's a surefire way to change it back to english? I already tried uninstalling/reinstalling but had no luck with that, even if I open other documents or start a new one it's in that same strange configuration, could anyone help me with this, please?

Wow, I don't know how or why, but I uninstalled LibreOffice, then the next day after a fresh reboot reinstalled it and it changed back to english !
Still, thank you so much for taking the time to answer my question, if this happens again I'll make sure to try out your suggestion.

  • How turn of computer from Desktop Environment?

In Gnome and KDE possible only log out.
Then need write "exit", login as root, write "reboot" press on computer, while it starting after reboot, turn off button.

Install "gksu" and add a shortcut to your panel/menu:
gksudo -a [terminal app] -e "halt"
or if your user doesn't have the right to sudo:
    gksu [terminal app] -e "halt"
The reason for -a in gksudo is to make sure you want to shutdown by asking for the password always For terminal app, use gnome-termainl, kterm, xterm, rxvt, etc... w/e you want just so you can see the output of the shutdown processes and detect any problems. The "sudo halt" is also good, but a GTK interface is a little nicer looking.. that's really the only reason to use that over [terminal app] -e "sudo halt" lol

  • Impossible to start the desktop environment after upgrade failure

Hello, after a long time without doing upgrades on my archlinux, I tried it once today. The upgrade failed, there were some packages conflit. Then nautilus and terminal were unable to be launched, so I restarted my PC. But when it's supposed to display the login window, the screen became black with a little clock instead of the mouse point.
Anyone can tell me how can I recovery my desktop environnement please?
If it isn't possible, how can I copy my data on a USB disk?
    Thank you.

First question, is the gdm daemon in your rc.conf or your inittab?
If it is in the inittab, then append the number 3 to the end of the grub kernel init string. This will boot to runlevel 3, and leave you in a text console.
If it is in rc.conf...well, if you can Ctrl+Alt+Bkspc out of the X session with the little clock, then just run from the console, then that's easy. Otherwise switch to another console (Ctrl+Alt+F1) and log in, then try doing
    killall gdm
As a last resort, you can always boot to single user by putting 1 at the end of the grub init string instead of 3.
After you are in the console, then try doing xinit /usr/bin/gnome-session and see if it works. If not, then you can try rolling back packages and whatnot.
Also, check /var/log/pacman.log and paste the failures you got.

  • Change language programming

    how change language programming

    how change language programming
I'm guessing English is probably not your first language and hence posting in English is probably rather difficult.
Unfortunately, it's impossible to tell what the question is.
If you say have vb and want c# then there are online translators.  But they're not very reliable and re-writing yourself is usually better.
If you have a solution which is c# and you want to use some VB in it.
You can't in the one project but each project in a solution can be different languages.  This is because they are essentially compiled separately.  Each project is compiled to an exe or dll.
You can therefore have as many languages as you have projects in a solution.
If you mean how do you learn a different language.
You already have a head start in that everything use .net libraries so the methods and classes are the same.
You "just" have to learn the rest of the language and I would suggest video training if your English is up to it ( pluralsight is good ) and or a book.
It took me a week to transfer from vb.net to c#.net.  Admittedly, I had already done some pascal as part of my degree and know a number of other languages but it was pretty easy to pick up.
