  • Miix 3-1030 no usb boot at all, not even with an otg cable

hi lenvovo i'm liking my new miix 3-1030 tablet i purchesed recently but have found the bios to be frankly useless.the tablet has no usb booting at all, nothing shows up in the boot menu except windows boot mangager.i've tried the following; usb hdd'susb sticksotg cableusb dvdrw none show up for booting, this is annoying as i use virtual machines and boot other os's from eithe live cds or usb devices. any chance of a bios update that enables usb booting? i don't want any other options, just the simple ability to boot other devices.

I'm experiencing the same thing with my Miix 2 8. See https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Windows-based-Tablets/Miix-2-8-no-USB-flash-drive-recognized-with-quot-Device/td-p/2132514 I would like to remove my recovery partition to free up space and then upgrade to Windows 10, but can only do so when I can boot from USB. So far I've been unsuccessful. --Ron

  • HP Mini 210-4000 Blue Screen of Death PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA error

I've been up and down the Forums here with no specific luck, unfortunately, so I'm going to ask even if this has been queried and solved in another part of the site which I may have missed.
I am trying to sort out a friend's HP Mini Notebook, model HP Mini 210-4125sa. The machine started up well enough until a week ago, when it suddenly decided to blue screen.
The specific error message text displayed within the BSOD reads as follows:
    PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
    TECHNICAL INFORMATION:
    *** STOP: 0x00000050 (0x87E40000, 0x00000000, 0x92442B13, 0x00000000)
I can not boot past the Windows 7 loading screen - the load bar makes it two fifths up and that's it.
I had thought to try and recover the operating system, if at all possible, from what is apparently a recovery partition that is created on the HD ( i haven't worked with these machines before unfortunately), although i cannot figure how to get at this partition before the error hits.
Also, having attempted to download a piece of software from the HP USB Recovery Flash Disk Utility, i realise that it seems necessary to actually use this from the notebook itself, which is not possible.
Having started running the various onboard tests from the BIOS menu, the Hard Disk Test has just apparently failed (specifically the Hard Disk Optimized DST portion of the test), with failure ID GGBXXV-66A75U-MFPX0J-61VV03 (i'm not certain if this information is of value but am including it nonetheless).HP have not unfortunately been an awful lot of help as they wil only offer a one-off technician support call for forty quid, or to take the notebook away for repair, the cost of which is practically as much as the original cost of the hardware. I would of course prefer to try and sort this out myself but have hit a bit of a wall at the moment. Any suggestions would be fantastic, at this point.
    This question was solved.

That hardware test for the hard disk is a dead giveaway of a failed item. A failed hard disk  is a show stopper.
Hard Disk Optimized DST portion of the test), with failure ID GGBXXV-66A75U-MFPX0J-61VV03 (i'm not certain if this information is of value but am including it nonetheless) It is important information.
A corrupted NTFS volume (the hard disk) can also generate the " PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA error"  stop message.

  • HP Mini 210 - No Recovery Disk

    Hello All,
Hope someone can advise what to do.  I had bought two HP Mini 210's.  I had not made any recovery disks.  The hard disk on one of the netbooks failed and I have had a new one installed.
I made a recovery disk onto USB from the other working netbook hoping that I would be able to use this to restore the OS using the license keys from the failed one but when it boots off of the USB it says there is a mismatch or something and will not let me continue.
Does anyone know of a way around this please?  If there isn't one, can anyone advise what the best step forward is?
    Thanks in advance

  • Restore Windows 7 operating system on a new hard drive in HP Mini 210 1095NR

I have a HP Mini 210 1095NR that had its hard drive crash and is not recoverable.  I have purchased a Seagate 320 gig hard drive to replace the original (160 gb I think) and I have ordered HP recovery disks.  They came as a set of two disks.  I used a free software (Daemon) to make ISO copies to two USB sticks one for each disk.  However, in researching this further it appears that using a clean drive will not be compatible with the recovery disks sent by HP.  There were mentions on the site that I visited, that I will need to purchase from HP some other media for a clean installation.  Is that correct and/or can I format the hard drive myself and then use the recovery disks from HP?

you can format the harddisk first.
complete the installation of any os..
then keep your HP recovery disks and boot in..
now you can be capable of using recovery disks
    Hope this helps

    @jass007 ,
Hello and thank you for posting on the HP support forums.  One question when you did your install of Windows 7, while installing your drivers did you start with the Chipset Driver first.
The reason for this it is much like a traffic cop for all the other drivers on the system.  I have seen this cause conflict with common devices and even to the point where they will not even show up in device manager.
If you can make sure you back up any data.
Once this is done go to your systems support page and download all the software and drivers and save them to a USB stick.
HP Mini 210-1014EA PC - Software & Drivers
Once that is done boot into Windows Safe Mode.
    Entering Safe Mode (Windows 7)
Once you are in safe mode you will want to remove all your drivers.  You may have to uninstall one at a time and restart between uninstalls.  Remember to boot into Safe Mode each time.
When all the drivers have been removed.  Boot back into windows normally. Here you will have to install your drivers one at a time.  Remember to start with the Chipset Driver first.
Please let me know how this goes for you.
Thak you again for posting and have a great day.

  • Install windows on my HP Mini 210-400, dont work because no driver?

    Hello,
I tried to install a new Windows on my (titel) HP mini 210-4000, so if I start the installation and come to the Harddriver selection, pick a driver, windows said, that AHCI-driver are missing.
In the BIOS of this Netbook I can't change the Harddrivermode tho IDE, because I don't have this option......-.-
What have I to do now?

    Try it again.
BTW..What is the complete product name and product number of your mini. At the end of what you posted there are characters missing. It helps us when we know the exact hardware configuration and we can get that from the product number.
This time use the installer to delete the existing partition create a new partition and format it as NTFS.
Download the Intel Rapid  Storage software on another PC and extract the SATA AHCI drivers. You can use either Winrar or WinZip to do that.  If you do this ,then you can install the AHCI drivers that you wanted to install before at the F6 install drivers stage of the installation. You will have to go into the registry and check a specific key later on after the install.
You may have to do this a couple of times til it works. Sometimes it takes practice. It is actually pretty simple to run a dual boot of Windows 7 (32-bit) and Linux (Ubuntu)
    Best regards,
    erico

    thank you for helping

    Hi @GoddessDiamond,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand that you are trying to install drivers for your HP Officejet G85 printer on Windows 7. I am happy to help!
Please take a look through this installation guide, Installing the Printer Driver Using the Windows 7 Built-in Solution for a USB Cable Connection.
Otherwise, if that does not work, you can try to download the Windows XP driver, HP Officejet Basic Software and Driver, and run it using compatibility mode. Make older programs run in this version of Windows.
If neither of those two options work, then the last step is to try an alternative driver, please see this post, How to Assign Alternate Print Drivers in Different Versions of Windows, by @Shane_R.
Hope this information resolves your issue, and have a good day!

  • HP Mini 210-1094NR recovery

    Hello, I need help now.
Trying to fix an HP Mini 210-1094NR running Windows 7 Starter.  Boots up to the Windows Error Recovery screen which gives me two options.
    1.  Launch Startup Repair
    2.  Start Windows Normally
Well you can guess which one(s) don't work.
The repair option got stuck in a loop, hard disk light flashing once every 3 seconds.   Left it for over 36 hours and it said it was repairing.
So it is hammered.  Is there a recovery partition to access?   I have the manual and it said to hit F11 or the Window button to access a possible recovery partition.  However, these just bring me back to the Recovery screen with the same options that don't work.
    Any help for this unit???
    Thanks.
