[SOLVED]I cannot connect to my wifi

Hello everyone and thank you in advance. Recently I just re-installed Arch as my Harddrive corrupted. Before the networking was quick and painless for me. But after installing Arch (I got wifi from booting from CD), I could not connect. I followed the beginners guide and the wifi guide but still no luck. Here is the post of my ip link:
1: lo: <LOOPBACK,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 65536 qdisc noqueue state UNKNOWN mode DEFAULT group default

I am using a  Broadcom Corporation BCM4313 802.11bgn Wireless Network Adapter, and I am using the default driver. I am trying now to set it up purely off dhcpcd after netctl and Network manager don't work. Here is some more information:

I have an Ipad1 and an Ipad2. The Ipad1 cannot connect to my wifi and indicates the password is incorrect even though I am using the same password for the Ipad2??

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

  • I have 2 ipod touch 3rd gen. Cannot connect to my wifi.  One will connect with neighbor's unsecure network..neither connect with my secured network

I have 2 ipod touch 3rd generation.   Cannot connect to my wifi.   One will connect on and off to my neighbor's unsecure wifi but neither will connect to my secured wifi.   All my wireless computers connect plus my Ipad connects.    They did connect at one time but haven't used them for anything but audio books which connect through Itunes on my computer.   It shows my secured network name.   When I originally connected them it was another rather with other security but since then I have bought new equipment.   My Ipad and my printers just automatically connect.    I have put in the Ip information plus but still no luck.

    Try :
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

I have two networks one each in two cities.  Both are named the same but require different passwords. I am at my second location and cannot connect to this wifi network. How do I delet one network so I can connect to my second network?

Just go to the wireless network preferences and empty out all the stored wireless networks.. then scan and connect to the local wireless.
Select them and tap the - button below it.
Once they are emptied out.. it might be good to reboot the computer with the remember networks unchecked.
    Start with a clean slate.

  • Internet works, but I have an exclamation mark instead of AirPort connection and cannot connect to my WiFi.. PLEASE HELP!

Internet works, but I have an exclamation mark instead of AirPort connection and cannot connect to my WiFi.. PLEASE HELP!

When you see an exclamation point in the Wi-Fi menu, from the menu bar, select
     ▹ System Preferences... ▹ Network
Click the Assist me button and select Assistant. Follow the prompts. You may get a warning that Wi-Fi is not available, that you're too far from the base station, or that you're using the wrong password.
Assuming that you've ruled out those possibilities, restart the computer and try again. If there's no change, click the lock icon in the lower left corner of the preference pane and authenticate, if necessary. From the Location menu at the top of the window, select Edit Locations. A sheet will drop down. Click the plus-sign button to create a new location. Give it any name you want. In the new location, set up the Wi-Fi service with the same settings you used before. Click  Applyand test.
If there's still no connection, and if you have control of the router, compare its settings to Apple's recommendations. Some third-party routers may be incompatible in 802.11b/g/n radio mode. Try setting the mode to 802.11n only.

  • HT4623 I cannot connect to my wifi after updating to iOS 6

I updated my iPhone 4s to iOS 6.  I cannot connect to my wifi after updating to iOS 6.  I updated while connected to iTunes.  I can no longer connect to the wifi that I had previously used at that location.  However, I can connect to all of the other wifi areas I had previously connected to ie. home, coffee shop, etc.
I have tried turning off cellular data..  Other than not being able to connect to my office wifi it appears that iOS 6 is working properly..
Thank you in advance for your assistance

I have the same problem too and I have not been able to "fix" it. It is very frustrating! My other electronics connected to my wifi:  pc, ipad, iphone 3G,and TV they all working fine. I went to the Apple store and they say this problem is ralated to my network provider, then when I went to AT&T they say it is Apples problem. Who do you believe?

I cannot connect ipad to Wifi though my other PC is connecting to the same network.  It is an IPad one and previously automatically connected to this network but has suddenly stopped even after rebooting the router etc still does not work?  Any ideas from the smart people out there please?

Look at iOS Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections  http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398

  • I cannot connect to any wifi.

I cannot connect to ANY WIFI.  It asks for a password for my network and I do not use a password. However, I tried every password I have ever used to no avail.   It does not find any other network either, but my laptop finds 4 others locally in my community.  It worked before without problems.

Okay, I went through everything you suggested, checked all of my settings. Everything seems to be correct. I tried a WiFi connection again today, and I got the Airport Mode message, but instead of hitting "retry" (and then just giving up), I hit "done" and it worked just fine. So...I'll just ignore that message about Airport Mode and hit done each time.
Thank you for your assistance on this.

I cannot connect to the wifi of the hotel my mbp 2008 even if my ipad and iphones are connected.

it worked just before i installed ios 5 and now I cannot connect to my wifi. iphone still connects

    Same for me.
I have to reset my comcast modem to get the iphone to submit the password.
Otherwise i just get a message "unable to connect to HOMExxxx"
After I reset the modem then I get the password request.
Password should be retained in the iPhone.
Got the iPhone connected on Sunday night and then Monday morning had to go through the whole routine again.
Comcast password is many characters so this is problematic.

    - Have you tried:
