[SOLVED] Image going over the size of my TV

I just upgraded my TV to a 47'' panasonic SmartTV from my old LV 32'' one.
I connect it via HDMI for video playback and xbmc use: The video card is a nVidia GT 240
The problem I'm facing is, at 1080p @ 60Hz, the image goes over the edges of the TV, like is bigger than the tv itself, so you lose some inches from each side.
At 720, the image looks to fit right but this is not the desired resolution.
I use nvidia-settings in order to tweak xorg.conf, but I had to add some options by hand for the fonts to have 96dpi.
Can anyone help me to find the solution for this?
I have a windows partition for gaming and when I booted it up for testing i faced the same issues.....

The problem is the TV itself. I have no idea why, but regular HD TVs usually cut a few pixels from each side, doing a slight zoom in. This is called overscan. You can usually disable this in the TV settings by setting the image size to "fullscreen" instead of 16/9.
Some quick Googling gave me this article, it seems pretty detailed (I'm learning myself right now why all TVs do this).

Are you sending the texts to his phone number or his Apple ID? It might be that the texts originated from your phone is to his Apple ID and not his phone number and his Apple ID was not registered for the Message app on his phone. So any texts to his Apple ID is not received by his phone.
Can you receive his texts? If yes, then reply back from what he send you and see if he can receive the texts.

Is this what you're doing:
To trim the recording click the Trim Memo button. You will see a blue progress bar with a yellow handle on the left and on the right. Drag the handles to set the start and end of the clip. Press the play button to confirm it sounds ok then press the large Trim Voice Memo to finalize your cut.

The adjustment brush cannot be added to a develop preset.
If you can replace the adjustment brush with a gradient filter or radial filter, you can add those to a dev preset.
If a gradient filter or radial filter is not an option for you, you can at least create an adjustment preset to remember your brush settings.

Will I get charged for going over the CC limit?

I have a CC that I just basically maxed out without going over the limit but was real close. I want to know if when they calculate the interests on the debt with that put me over the limit on the card which will then trigger them to charge me a fee for going over the limit? I know I should not do this but I have a check coming in a couple of months that will clear the debt completely so no worries there. Thanks in advance

How to adjust the size of image to suit the size of panel?

i have got a panel which contains a image.but i don't want to use scroll panel if the image's size is bigger than the panel.
what can i do to change the size of image to suit the size of the panel every time i want to display it?

Want total control over the size of a button

What do I do if I want to control the size of a button completely and not let something else do it for me automatically? What layoutmanagers allow me to completely control the size and which do not?

For total control over the button size, call container.setLayoutManager(null). This, however, disables all automatic layout; not only will you have control over the size of your button, you'll have control over its position and the size and position of all other components in that container. You'll also have the responsibility to set them.
While this is desirable in some circumstances, you normally want to use a LayoutManager. These managers allow your code to be modified with greater ease and handle a lot of the work for you.
You can always call jbutton.setPreferredSize(new Dimension(x,y));[b] to attempt to communicate to the LayoutManager the size that you would like the button to be. [b]jbutton.setMinimumSize and jbutton.setMaximumSize are also useful. (These calls assume the existence of a field jbutton which contains an instance of the class JButton.)
These, however, only work if the LayoutManager honors your requests; it is quite possible for a LayoutManager to ignore your sizing requests on the objects it is laying out. Yet another solution is to write your own LayoutManager. The interface is relatively simple. I personally have been working on a project in which a workspace allows users to move components around. Because of this, the component has to stay where the user put it, although its size should be adjusted according to its needs. Image all over the button

Hi guys,
Wonder if it is possible to place an image all over the button (as if it is "center" borderLayout).

in this case the image is in the center and i want to eliminate all the gray area.

GOING OVER THE LIMIT

I have had the limited "USB" modem for 6 months and all of a sudden last month went over the 5120. Not by much, but I had never even come close to going over before. When I checked daily use on the bill there are several days of higher than my normal use. It didn't take many days of triple and quad to trigger extra charges. The time and sites that I use have not significantly changed.
Now, someone tells me that my computer can be running things in the background that I don't even know about. Someone also mentioned that the little light on the front of my laptop flashes when info is being received.
Can someone tell me what the heck is happening and how I can stop it.

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:

Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".

Images all over the place

Today was my deadline and it is blown.
I'd love to get this done over the weekend, but it's looking baaaad.
I have a 350 page book I'm working on for export to pdf.
It's my own book. It's not for a client (I don't have any nor should I).
I have a deadline because there will be some lovely publicity about it coming out in April or May so I want to get Amazon going on it ASAP.
I have about 80 images.
I'm in Indesign CC on a mac
Just when everything looks perfect, I find some little glitch, correct it, and all the images float loose and go to all the wrong places.
I can ANCHOR some images but not all.
At the beginning of this project I was trying to anchor all of them to relevant text but got a lot of weird reactions from them and so I give it up when when it goes weird.

What do I mean by that? The image jumps off to the side or to a previous page or the text wrap stops working. Some behave nicely. but most don't. I SPENT ABOUT A WEEK ON THIS. IT'S TOO COMPLICATED FOR ME AT THIS POINT.

If someone can offer some very very simple advice as to what would be my best move, I'd love to have it. Complicated advice won't help me. I will not understand it. And I don't have time to take a class in indesign. I mean, I've done pretty well, but this problem keeps arising.
My default plan now is to delete ALL images. Work on the text. And then place the images one by one where they finally belong starting from the top.
AFTER FIRST INSERTING A link or something to the image or to the name of the image without modifying the text.

If the all images it's on one folder, when file>place select all images then you use up arrow or down arrow keys to choose which photo you want to place on it's page.
I've re-placed images and captions hundreds of times.
If the caption include in photos metadata, after placing photos select all photos in links panel then mouse right click select captions>generate live captions or generate static captions

, hellow everyone. I am newbie here and I recently installed Archlinux with Awesome WM,the default size of font is too small, in some cases,the characters even can not be clearly seen,I want to change the size of fonts so that I can read words comfortablely ,what shall I do to make the font bigger? I tried to find the solution in wiki or forum but failed, thank you in advance!

the fonts in firefox browser and terminal emulator xterm are too small. I can enlarge characters in firefox browser by "ctrl +", but small fonts in xterm can not be modified by me at the beginning, but now I create and configure ~/.Xdefaults, and this problem has been solved. the fonts in panel of Awesome WM was also very small at the first, after configuring Awesome's theme.lua file, everything is fine now.:D

[SOLVED] Trying to understand the "size on disk" concept

Hi all,
I was trying to understand the difference between "size" and "size on disk".
A google search gave plenty of results and I thought I got a clear idea about
it.. All data is stored in small chunks of a fixed size depending on the
filesystem and the last chunk is going to have some wasted space which
will *have* to be allocated.. Thus the extra space on disk.
However I'm still confused.. When I look at my home folder, the size on disk
is more than 320 GB, where as my partition is actually less than 80 GB, so
I guess I'm missing something.. Could somebody explain to me what does
320 GB of 'size on disk' means?

Webpage rendering images all over the place after 8.0.X

Whenever I open a web link from the financial 'stock' application, it loads normally with small fonts as usual but when double-tabbed to magnify to full screen, two things will occur:
1. the keyboard pops up which is very annoying
2. images rendered all over the place in magnified full-screen mode.
Just updated to 8.0.2 and problem still persists.

Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
No data is lost due to a reset.

Will Going Over The Credit Limit One Time Hurt Score Long Term?

I have a flexible spending Chase Sapphire preferred card that has a limit of $7000. I don't know when, but according to my credit report it shows that my high balance at one point in time was at $11k - I'm guessing this was several several months ago if not over a year. I don't ever keep my balance that high, and I'm sure it was only at that balance for 24-48 hours, and Chase just happened to report to the CB's the day the balance was that high (lucky me). Currently my balance is really low , around $150. I usually keep the balance at less than $500 at any one time (and if it goes over that, I pay it down several times a month just in case). Anyway, my lender told me that if I raised my credit limit to around $15k (or at least higher than the $11k balance it had at one time), it would raise my score considerably because it would show that I never went above the limit. So I called Chase, and luckily I was able to get the limit raised to about $13k. I was pre-approved for it, so they did not need to run my credit (good news I guess). My question is - should I expect a score increase just because the one time high blaance of $11k is now under my new $13k limit (instead of over the $7k limit it had). I thought I knew a lot about how credit scores worked, but this is new to me. Is the lender blowing smoke or is this actually a normal thing to expect? Thx
