If you wish to have slock start automatically after a certain idle time, you can use xautolock--also in the repos. Something like this in your .xinitrc (or autostart.sh) should do the trick:
xautolock -time 5 -locker slock -nowlocker slock -detectsleep -corners 000+ -cornerdelay 3 &
This will also lock the screen if you place the mouse cursor in the lower right corner for 3 seconds.

I browsed around myself to see what's available.
I have the use case that my kids should be able watching video in the back of the car. Having to Ipad 2 would be great and interconnect with the same video. Of course they can watch tha same video but originating from the respective ipad. But in that case they must have headphone. I would like the two ipad's to sync and they can watch the same video that is linked from the one screen to the other. I'm afraid that some apps like "ideaflight" introduces time lag.
What do you say? I'm probably not the only having this idea.

IPod Nano Screen Lock bug

I think I have discovered a bug in the iPod Nano software. I'm using the latest software available as for today.
I lock the iPod Nano's screen and as expected, the graphical display of a combination lock appears. I insert the iPod Nano on to the Universal Dock and then proceed to control the Nano from the Apple Remote. It works partly. I am able to pause and play music and after a song finishes, it goes to the next one. I am not, however, able to fast forward, rewind, or skip tracks. I am able to play and pause, plus the Nano goes to the next track automatically after it finishes play the current one.
Seems to me a bug! I would imagine that the screen lock is supposed to lock all kinds of control to the iPod except entering password.

Screen lock

In the 1.4 update notes, it specifies that the screen lock can now support any time period that the Exchange system has setup. I don't see this in the Screen and Lock, PIN settings, it has the same values as it did with 1.3.5.1. Am I missing something?

Nope. Phone did not lock after 15mins per EAS settings. Back to 10 mins I suppose until this gets figured out!

Incorrect Combination on Screen Lock

I have an iPod Classic that is running the current level of firmware and I noticed that the screen lock no longer works correctly. Whenever I enter a combination and lock the screen, I cannot unlock it with the same combination. It returns an Incorrect Combination error. I then have to unlock it by connecting it to iTunes. I am sure that this was working previously. Has anyone else experienced this or have suggestions as to what to try?

If you can't get it unlocked you'll need to restore it. Restoring will erase the hard drive, reload the software and put it back to default setting. Once the restore is complete follow the on screen instructions and it should connect to iTunes and give you a prompt to automatically update your library onto the fresh installation: Restoring iPod to Factory Settings with iTunes 7

Would a screen lock come on by itself on my ipad?

Would there be any reason that a screen lock would go on by itself. I've never activated a screen lock in the settings menu.

You will need to restore your iDevice from the same computer that you most recently synced to.

Screen lock problems with Alarm, etc...

The Alarm notification window goes away too quickly.
I have the screen lock setting ON (so I have to slide the yellow ball up). I also have the screen lock time set to one minute.
When the alarm goes off (IF it goes off, which is another bug) the screen turns on with the slider indicating an alarm is going off, but it quickly goes away.
It doesn't stay active for the minute I have set.
Thus, I have to hit the button, then unlock the screen to snooze the alarm.
Also I noticed that the screen lock, well, works whenever it wants to. Sometimes Im asked to slide the ball, other times I am not. I should be qued to do this every time I tap the power button.
All these little bugs are making me a little leery of my Pre purchase...

I was on vacation this weekend and set my Pre alarm to go off both mornings. The first morning it went off, but the touch screen, volume buttons, unlock, etc. were all frozen. Nothing had any effect on the Pre whatsoever. Had to completely shut down the Pre.
The next morning, it simply didn't go off at all. Triple-check the settings, and all were correct. Just deecided to not work.

Can Microsoft add a screen recording software in the next update

Screen Lock for iP4 on iOS6

i noticed that the screen lock function is not working on iOS 6. i have set my screen to 1 minute but the screen doesn't turn off. I have to click the power button to close my screen.

i tried disabling the assistive touch and the auto lock function works fine.
for now, i will have to manually auto lock my phone until Apple fixes this issue. the reason for using the assistive touch is to prevent my home button wearing out due to frequent use. the home button is expensive to repair.

After a few hours the same issue started again. (Port 3689 error) I checked my router settings and it shows ATV asd connected to my netrwork. ATV also shows in iTunes devices. It asll works till I try to sync. Then the error pops up
I tired restoring ATV to factory settings. Even backed iTunes up to version 8 and every combonation therein. I started an older Gateway running Vista 64bit and it syncs fine with ATV although it's slow and I have to transfer movies from my Win 7 to tyhe Vista machiner.
I cannot find any reason for this issue. Can anybody solve this before it dribves me crazy? (Crazier)

Maybe a reset would help, to be followed by trying the recovery again.
To reset, hold the on/off and home buttons together for about 10 seconds till the Apple logo appears. Then do the recovery.
If this doesn't solve it, I recommend visiting an Authorized Apple Service Center.
