[SOLVED] KMix lost sliders

After last KDE upgrade I lost all those sliders in KMix left with only one called Internal Audio Analog Stereo (see screenshot)
Anybody knows what's going on and how to restore previous look? Thanks.

  • SOLVED - T500 - Lost sound volume after a very recent update

I keep my T500 current with new drivers, however in a recent update (I do not know which) I lost almost all the volume on my speakers and headphone.
    Has anyone experienced this?
Has anyone found a solution to this problem?
    Thanks,
    Persio.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

ONeill, thanks for your response and interest in helping.
    I am running Win 7 Ultimate x64.
I have just finished doing a series of  tests with NO success.
All my drivers are current with the Lenovo Support Site drivers' versions.
I have unistalled the Conexant driver using the Device Driver screen and let the system reinstall (PnP).
I have unistalled the Hot Key Drivers, tested without them installed, and reinstalled them.
I have reinstalled the Conexant driver fresh from the Lenovo Support Site.
The problem I am having is the following:
In a silent room, using the SmartAudio aplet from Control Panel,  I can barely hear the sounds with the volume set at 100%. This is true for the internal speakers and for a headphone plugged into the system.
This indicates to me that the it is a volume issue.
I would appreciate your comments and suggestions.
    Persio.

  • How to solve RDP lost focus issue when RDP window minimized

    Hello,
I have an application running on Windows 2012 server where users connect to the server via RDP client. Users run on Windows 7/XP.  The application is a screen recording software which records all the activity.
Users connect to Windows Server 2012 by giving the IP Address in RDP. The user opens the applications & starts his work and recording is also started.
At an instant, the user minimized the RDP window on his Laptop/Desktop, now the screen-recording stops. As soon as the RDP window is maximized, the recording starts again.
I learned from Technet that there is a workaround by tweaking the registry on user laptop/desktop. However the problem here is that I have no control on user laptops/desktops as the users are spread in the whole world & does not belong only to my organization.
Hence is there any other way by which I can solve the issue without any registry tweak. Is there a way by which I can enforce users to use the RDP client of the Windows 2012 Server on which I have control and I can change the settings on the same.
Will Windows 2012 Server RDS services resolve the issue without any change at the user end.
This is a P1 issue for me. Hence expecting support from the community
    Regards

    Hi,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
Initially suggest you to upgrade the RDP client version to RDP 8.1 for better performance.
From the description it seems you are using RDP to connect to the server. Can you please clarify again, if it’s RemoteApp application or connecting the application after RDPing to the server?
If it’s RemoteApp application and facing problem then there is one Hotfix available to try:
A RemoteApp application main window takes the focus after the applications windows are maximized in Windows
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2862019
For RDP, you can try the following option to configure. You can configure “Keep-alive connection interval” under group policy and check.
    Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Remote Desktop Services\Remote Desktop Services Session Host\Connections\
Configure Keep-alive connection interval:  Enable and specify value
In addition to this also verify the registry setting must be set as per following
    HKEY_Local_Machine \ SOFTWARE \ Policies \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ Terminal Services
    KeepAliveEnable REG_DWORD
    0x00000001 (1)
    KeepAliveInterval REG_DWORD
    0x00000001 (1)
    Hope it helps!
    Thanks.

  • [SOLVED] I lost all file-program associations!

it's all gone, for all users, in fact, some were preserved (have only seen it in the folder) but stay read only (directories are associated with thunar and I can do nothing about it). maybe it has to do with uninstalling perl-file-mimeinfo, although I installed it for like 2 hours and then uninstalled it, or could be some problem with having a rather outdated nautilus (I have a custom-built nautilus with tracker support that I haven't bethered to update), although I do not think it's that because the same happens from thunar :\
I'll keep trying to get them back, if you have any idea please enlight me, now I'm off to update nautilus.
EDIT: Looks like shared-mime-info got corrupted somehow... I reinstalled it and now everything is back.

  • [SOLVED] Evince lost its icons

    Hi.
I'm not sure when this happened, but suddenly evince has no icons in the toolbar.  Everything still works, but all the icons display as white squares with a red "x" in the middle.  Did this happen to anyone else?

  • Will upgrading to mountain lyon solve having lost the reinstall DVD?

I have a mac book pro and I lost my reinstall DVD, as I have to pay to get them, I was thinking of upgrading to mountain lyon. Will that be like reinstalling or will that be more problematic.
    Thanks

Yes it is compatible so with will not delete it or render it unusable.

  • [solved] chromium lost its panel icon

I'm running latest arch and slim+openbox+tint2; after updating to chromium-43.0.2357.65-1-x86_64 I find that tint shows a generic icon and not the expected blue and white chrome thing. Checked by downgrading to chromium-42.0.2311.135-1-x86_64 and that does show the icon. There is an icon=chromium in /usr/share/applications/chromium.desktop and it seems to be identical to earlier version. The icon does appear in my openbox menus. All the icon files appear to be present in the filesystem.
    Edit: fixed in 43.0.2357.81-1

KDE5 still showing the icon for me. There is a similar thread about the same version of google chrome, so it's probably related.

  • [SOLVED] LXDE lost suspend feature

Not sure what I did or how it happened but now, there is not a suspend feature in my logout box for LXDE nor is my laptop suspending on lid close any more.
I did install pm-utils and acpid but no avail.
    Any ideas?
    thanks!

That's not the same. LXDE probably works through console-kit. Sudo just runs stuff as root.

  • [Solved] tmpfs lost half of its real space

    Hello,
My RAM is 16 Gb, but the system sees only half of that
    $ df -H /tmp/
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
    tmpfs 8.4G 16M 8.4G 1% /tmp
    $ free -h total
total used free shared buff/cache available
    Mem: 15G 1.3G 2.0G 47M 12G 13G
    Swap: 0B 0B 0B
Even copying files bigger than 8.5 Gb it will complain disk full
Maybe I'm misunderstanding how the memory is managed

  • SOLVED! Lost my system tray!

Not sure what I did, but my system tray (you know, the place where the speaker icon displays) disappeared! I've searched the forum and the wiki and not come across anyone else who made this bonehead mistake (lol). Please, if anyone knows how to get it back, I'd sure appreciate knowing. And if you can make a guess what I did to make it go away, that would be helpful too. Don't want to make the same mistake again!
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
