[SOLVED] libdbi-drivers package status?
Since yesterday when running pacman -Syu I am seeing:
:: Starting full system upgrade...
warning: libdbi-drivers: local (0.8.3_1-3) is newer than community (0.8.3_1-2)
Does anyone know if this is just a slow mirror sync issue or something else?

muon wrote:I have the same issue. I originally got the package from [community] and the problem arose for me after I switched from mysql to mariadb, though I think that was coincidental. I think it may have been an oops on the part of the package maintainer? "grawity" on IRC pointed me to
https://projects.archlinux.org/svntogit … c8a0ed129d
where the pkgrel went from 3 to 2.
I did a "pacman -S libdbi-drivers". It told me I was downgrading, but I think it actually put me to the current release.
Currently on the page at https://www.archlinux.org/packages/comm … i-drivers/ the current version is libdbi-drivers 0.8.3_1-2
However I have installed
pacman -Q libdbi-drivers
libdbi-drivers 0.8.3_1-3
So maybe the version in the [community] repo should be pkgrel 3 and not 2? It would be nice to see a definitive solution.

SCCM 2012 SP1 CU4 migrated DP shows package status "unknown"
I have a SCCM 2012 SP1 CU4 environment and have shared SCCM 2007 distribution points.
Today I migrated one of the DP's which seems to work well.
However all my packages shows now the status "unknown" for this migrated DP.
This is a problem which should be fixed in CU4 according to the CU4 description. But it is not :-(
Any idea how to solve this ? R2 install ?Some additional information:
I noticed that the package sources are still available at the "old" ditribution point share abd not on the new sccm 2012 distribution point share. When performing actions described in step 3 below the package becomes available on the distribution point
share......then i guess i can remove the content from the "old" distribution point share ????
I noticed that when a package got the status "unknown" for de migrated DP the following action fix the problem:
--> i remove the DP from the package and immediately add it again, the package status becomes "Successful".....hummm....ok....maybe a script could be created for this
I noticed that when a package got the status "unknown" and the package is also located on the "distribution point share" then following will fix the issue:
--> edit the package and remove the migrated DP and remove the checkbox for string on the distribution point share. Then add the DP again, click Apply and then set the checkbox for storing on the distribution point share and Apply again. Then wait and package
will become available Successful and the package will become available on the distribution point share
But i have 800 packages and 50 to be migrated DP's.....this is not a solution....but what is ????
Any help, ideas, tips, hints, recommendations ?
My overal thoughts are that migrating of a SCCM 2007 DP is not really working at all !!!!!
Or does someone has other experience with e.g. R2 installed ? If so then I will upgrade first... -

Prestage package status not updating on the server
I have been successful in extracting other prestage packages on DP but for 2 packages, it extract them fine as per the logs and sends the status to the MP as well but the server doesnt reflect the updated status.
prestagecontent.log shows the following
Management Point: 'http://<MP Name>'
Site Code: '<Sitecode>' PrestageContent
DP server: '<DP server name>'
NAL Path: ["Display=\\<DP server name>\"]MSWNET:["SMS_SITE=<sitecode>"]\\<DP server name>\' PrestageContent
Set authenticator in transport PrestageContent
Sent <packageID> package state message to site
End ====
What could be the reason, i have tried to recopy the packages from the original source and tried extracting 2-3 times
using the extraction switch "/f" as well but didnt reflect the status.
Prestage option is already checked.Distmgr.log has the below entries although they were not in red

User rights to view package status
A few of our Windows admins have been given the rights to create packages and deployments (mainly for the monthly updates).
However, even though they can create and deploy them, they cannot see the package status. So, if they go to: Software Updates-Deployment Packages then select their package, they can expand their package and see Package status. However, if they
click the Package Status folder, there is nothing underneath it when generally it would show the site, then you can see the dp's and if the package is in Install pending, Installed, etc.
They have the following rights:
Site: Read
Deployment packages class: Administer, Create, Delete, Distribute, Manage folders, Modify, Read
Instance: Delete, Distribute, Modify, Read
What am I missing? It is virtual impossible to get CM07 security fine tuned enough to allow for this type of thing but it is fairly easy to do in CM12. So upgrade to CM12 or push back on the reporting option.
IMO there is nothing wrong with admin review things view the report, plus viewing the reports will have LESS impact on the server that viewing them via the console so.

SQL table for Package Status history
Anyone know which SQL table stores the history for non-scheduled packages? I know tblScheduleHistory stores scheduled jobs but can't locate the history seen using "Package Status". This is for 5.0 SP2
Please try tblDTSlog table

I am getting "ORA-04068 Existing state of Packages has been discarded" when trying to run a package from a form. Is it because of having Schema name and Package name as same?.
Hi Claus,
First of all - it's possible to make DM package status as Failed from inside custom logic badi: Package status for an "IF_UJ_CUSTOM_LOGIC" badi
Analyze the badi code!
The chain is fine, the script is also fine, the only question with badi parameters:
CATEGORY_KD = (%CATEGORY_KD_SET%)
What for you use brackets () ?

Prestage Package status not reflecting on the console
Hello,
I have extracted some prestage packages successfully on the new DP but for some reasons, it doesn’t reflect the status on the primary server. After troubleshooting, I found
this article which describes my issue similarly.
http://eskonr.com/tag/sccm-2012/page/2/
Where it says, “Will reject this STA for DP”, that similarly matches with my concern.
I have followed the article regarding the script for compare the version difference but what I am not sure is, I believe it ultimately says to redistribute the content to
the DP once more ?
Let me know if I am wrong or if there is any other way as this is happening for many prestage packages.
Not sure how it started all of a sudden when it working since a day before.Hello,
I have created a new prestage package and it extracted successfully as per the below message in Distmgr.log but for some reasons the status doesnt reflect on the console.

[SOLVED] Best drivers for an Nvidia 8600GTS?
Hi all. I installed Arch for the first time over the weekend. Everything went smoothly until it came time to start X - could never get it to work. I tried lots of different remedies (installing nvidia drivers from the repositories, installing the driver supplied by Nvidia themselves, blacklisting Nouveau, etc.). Nothing worked, and I think now the best thing is to start over clean and try to find where I went wrong (as there's a good chance I've done more harm than good in the process).
So as I nuke and reinstall, I'm wondering which driver will be best for my c. 2006 Nvidia 8600GTS card. Should I install the arch nvidia drivers with
pacman -Syu nvidia nvidia-utils nvidia-libgl libvdpau
or should I use the driver supplied by Nvidia? And if I go with the Nvidia-supplied driver, do I leave nvidia-utils, nvidia-libgl and/or libvdpau, or does it replace those, too?
Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!
Last edited by jmatthewturner (2014-06-02 14:48:41)First of all, please, read through the related Wiki pages.
The arch nvidia drivers (packages: nvidia, nvidia-utils, etc) are the ones supplied by nvidia, maintained and packaged by the arch maintainers and packagers.
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/NVIDIA
The open source driver is called nouveau.

False/misleading package status
Situation
Our package status often gives us misleading information. I am wondering whether other people experience the same and/or have found solutions (see Data for more details)
Data
- On BPC 5.1 SP5
- Erroneous Status
1) When Progress shows "Completed", it actually fails at "Convert data" step - "Failed in 1 sec"
2) Our data package downloads flat file from BW's FTP server and import to BPC. Sometimes we have new members and the log will show those "rejects". What's weird is that such rejects log don't show consistently. For example, the log file would show "rejects" today, but even if I don't do anything (i.e. adding those rejects as new members to my dimension), the next day the log would "The values in the source data are same as the database". The same flat file is being fed to BPC, and what was rejected still are included in the flat files because we are running on total snapshot rather than "delta".
Question
Has anyone experienced these issues?
Thank you!
BrianBrian,
Here is my answer.
1. When convert fails in a second, it means data file doesn't exist or something wrong.
2. The values in the source data are same as the database.
when you import with clear option, data manager compare it with current data in the fact tables before import,
If it is exactly same, it shows that error message and will not import.
Why does we need to import exact same data? That's why DM shows that message.
I hope it will help you.

Hi,
I have a strange problem with "Package status not appended in the Add Remove Programs after the installation.".
Like, onec the package is installed via SCCM, it should be listed in the Add Remove programs with the package name, version and the install date.
At times on random machine these details are not appended. Although the application works fine on the machine, but the correct details are not populated in Add/ Remove programs.
There is no issue with the package as it shows correct details on few other machine where it is installed.
This behaviour is random on random machines. Hence, very difficult to track the reason.
System Security analyst at CapGHi Jason,
Yes, i have tried Jorgen's suggestion, ans as said earlier. It install the application smoothly on any other machine (any random machine) perfectly with correct details in Add Remove Programs.
As mentioned earlier, the same package, same environment, same set of machines with same OS, it installs correctly on few machines.. and on few its just misses to add correct details in Add Remove progs.
If it was related to package, how does it install corretly on other machines?? How does the same package installs correctly when done manually or by that means by PSEXEC.
To a matter of fact, we are checking our package for the multiple times now, just to make sure it is buldled correctly with correct install scripts. We are trying to search different multiple ways to see what makes the package to skip the
correct entry in the Add Remove.
To add, this is not with one package, it happens with random package with random machine. There is not typical behaviour that could be tracked.
All the installations done via SCCM 07, with admin account.
This looks more tricky and complex then as simple as saying, its the fault of packaging.
I hate to say this but this is NOT a CM07 problem, You will need to work with your packaging team, and use tools like process monitor, psexec and the msi log to determine why it is failing.
Your first step is to find a pc where you can consistent get the setup to fails. once you get that you can use process monitor and the msi log files to determine what is going on.

I already reran pacman-key --init and pacman-key --populate archlinux after removing the allready acquired signatures (/etc/pacman.d/gnupg). But it keeps returning the same error.
Do I need to add another key manually to install packages manually from the AUR?

[SOLVED] Splitting grub2 package as grub2-bios and grub2-efi
Hi all,
I currently maintain the grub2-efi-bzr http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=40290 and grub2-bios-bzr http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=41055 AUR packages. I proposed a split PKGBUILD to tpowa and pressh for grub2 package based on requests at https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/19838 and https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/20419 . The PKGBUILD creates 4 packages grub2-common, grub2-bios, grub2-efi-x86_64, grub2-efi-i386.
I need your impressions and suggestions on improving the PKGBUILD, especially in avoiding the use of multilib toolchain. Thanks in advance.
grub2-bios for Archlinux i686 and x86_64 (multilib needed in x86_64) - compiled as any in Arch64
grub2-bios for Archlinux i686 and x86_64 (multilib needed in x86_64) - compiled as any in Arch64
grub2-efi-x86_64 for Archlinux i686 and x86_64 (no need for multilib in x86_64, not possible to compile in i686) - compiled as any in Arch64
I currently use x86_64 Archlinux with gcc-multilib from the official repo. I do not have i686 linux (either Arch or any other distro) installed. My system compiles both grub2-efi-x86_64 and grub2-efi-i386 using the below PKGBUILD. I use only grub2-efi-x86_64 (or x86_64-EFI) in my system.

Last edited by skodabenz (2011-01-30 19:36:25)The package is now in testing repo and will soon be moved to extra repo. Solved by splitting the PKGBUILDs and through direct interaction with grub2 maintainer using irc.

Import package status with successful when all the data have been rejected
Dear all,
We use the import package to import some data files. We check that the status is successful , but all the data are rejected. Is it possible to set the status to error when there are reject records in the data file?
Best Regards,
JeffTry to set the MAXREJECTCOUNT parameter in the transformation file to -1. This will create an error or warning if you have rejected records.
Hope this helps.
