[SOLVED} linux-dvb-apps initial scan files

Anyone know where to find the linux-dvb-apps initial scan files. They used to be under /usr/share/dvb/, but the latest linux-dvb-apps package just lists contents in /usr/share/dvb/av7110_loadkeys/
Failing that has anyone got a decent scan file for uk-CrystalPalace?
Seems I need to google harder as this has already come up

I have tried w_scan, but I always seem to get too many base frequencies. When I run scan using the result as an initial file I get duplicate channels with different parameters eg QAM64 vs QSPK etc etc. Sometimes all of the duplicates open in VLC other times none. I guess I must be doing something wrong or maybe I am picking up more than one transmitter.

OK, so I decided I was going to update the PKGBUILD for linux-lts-tresor to the new format with separate sources for different architectures and PGP keys, having successfully done it for the nvidia packages I maintain and I get the following issue when I run mkaurball on the linux-lts-tresor PKGBUILD:

OK, so either I'm committing a huge stupid with both TRESOR packages or there is actually a problem with makepkg. I've done similar changes with the linux-tresor PKGBUILD and it's doing the same thing.

  • HP Photosmart 2610xi scanned file permissions failure

I recently upgraded to Mavericks. When I try to save a scanned file using HP Photosmart 2610xi it files due to file permissions. Have repaired permissions but no change. Tried searching for a new driver with HP with no luck. Anyone else have this same problem and found a way to solve it. Tried image capture and import with preview but they create huge files.

Hello @rmo5369 , and welcome to the HP Forums!
I can see you're experiencing scan issues.  I would like to help!
I would suggest deleting the printer from your print system, using this document: Uninstalling the Printer Software.
Once you have deleted it, I would suggest verifying and repairing the disk permissions:
About Disk Utility's Repair Disk Permissions feature.
I would also suggest running your Apple updates:
OS X: Updating OS X and Mac App Store apps
After the updates, I would recommend reinstalling the HP Photosmart 7510 series C311 Full Feature Software and Drivers.
Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!

Could it be that the App isn't there for me - I am in the UK, and I don't get any chance to install from the Store (or from your link).

  • Identifying the scan file for the Laserjet Pro 200 color MFP M276nw on a MacBookPro

In order to scan to a file on my Laserjet Pro 200 Color MFP M276nw, I need to register a file on my MacBookPro that the scan file can be sent.  The Mac is using Mac OS 10.10 which is claimed to be supported by HP.  But, I am unable to provide the registration information so that the scan file can be sent to the Mac.  Can someone help me with this problem?

    Hi @NeilPayze ,
I see that you are having issues setting up the scan file. I would like to help you out today.
If you are trying to setup a scan to a network folder, please follow these steps:
Create a folder on the desktop.
Hold down the control button and click on the folder you just created and select Get Info.
    Check Share folder.
Under Sharing & Permissions select Read & Write.
    Close that window.
Go to the Apple, System Preferences, Sharing.
Check File Sharing, select the folder created, then select Read & Write.
    Click on options.
Check Share files and folders using SMB.
Check Share files and folders using AFP.
    Below check Account name.
    Then click on Done.
On the same windows, with File Sharing highlighted, to the right of that under File Sharing: ON, write down the
    IP address.
    Then close that window.
Open the Embedded Web Server for the printer.
    Click on the Scan tab.
    Click on Network Folder Setup.
    Delete any old entries.
    Then click on New.
Display Name: Type in any display name.
    Network Path: \\computer's IP\folder name
    Example: \\192.168.22.104\scan
    Username:Computers User name.
    Password: Computers Password.
Then click on Save and Test at the bottom right corner.
Please let me know the results.

  • Turning a Pdf back to a scanned file in a single operation

One of the most frequent tasks I perform in Adobe includes scanning & inserting signature image(s) in a document then turning it back into an image only file before sending it as an attachment to an email. Sometimes but not always they are forms or I need to add comments or other small alterations. Therefore since I think there must lots of other people who would need to do the same there might be batch operation already setup for that.
So my question is, isn't there?
If not what is the best way of setting one up so that the result will be as good as the initial scanned image.
What I do at the moment is save the file as series of jpeg files and then recombine them into a single file. But the result is blurry even at the same resolution as the scanning resolution or even when the transition is supposed to be lossless.
I have seen other questions here about flattening a file but they are not quite the same and I know that an alternative is to use protection but once protection and encryption come into the equation then the recipients often seem to have difficulties opening them depending on the kind of readers they use. I suppose a multi-page image format would be another way but that has its own problems when a scanned pdf seem to be the best format even though there are hardly any PDF tags in there.
    Thanks

Use an Acrobat Action to do this process.

  • Destination Folder Of Scanned Files

    I just bought an Envy 4500 printer/scanner.
When I scan a document or image, either as a photo, or a PDF file, the resulting file is saved under the generic name "Scan000X"(Where X is some number) in my Documents folder.
Is there a way to (1) specify the file name and (2) configure the destination folders of scanned files so that I won't have to do those things manually for every scan I do?
    Thanks.

    Hi @Pikadon,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand that you are wondering if there is a way to (1) specify the file name and (2) configure the destination folders of scanned files so that I won't have to do those things manually for every scan you do. With your HP Envy 4500 on Windows Vista. I am happy to help you with these questions!
    1) To specify the file name, you will need to open the HP Scan application on your Windows Vista computer, look for Advance Settings (on the right hand side, above Restore Defaults.) Select the Destination tab at the top. Once selected you can change the Base File Name, and 2) You can choose where to store the scanned files in the same window.
To open HP Scan, select the Start Menu bottom left hand corner, go to All Programs/Programs, Look for he HP folder, look for the folder for your printer, then select HP Scan.
    Please see the image below:
Hope this answers your questions, and have a great day!

  • I have put all the education apps in one file on my iPad is there a way to lock that file when I open it so that my niece can not leave that file

I have put all the education apps in one file and would like to be able to lock it when it is opened to keep my niece from going other places, does anyone know if this can be done and if so how?

Maybe you can let her play on your computer where it may be easier to restrict what she can do, provided there's an OS X equivalent. Of course supervision is probably the safest solution until she is old enough to understand she shouldn't do anything that's not permitted. But then she'd probably be old enough not to need to learn her ABSs.

What type of file?  From what site?  What Apps have you downloaded for it?
Perhaps if you provide details of what you are doing we can provide more precise help.

  • Need help with easy script for open / close app and move files

    Hi,
I'm not a scripter.. never done anything special perhaps more complicated than /shutdown -s on cmd..
I actually learned ASCII C language on university but never used it in real.
I'm trying to create a basic script that perhaps you could help me or guide me how to do it..
    The commands are
    1) Close a running app (end task it or force kill it, I prefer end task it)
    2) delete files from x location
    3) run .exe app from y location
    4) close that running app
    5) move files from z to y
Perhaps adding few "wait few seconds" commands in between each, so the apps will launch successfully..
My first question will be whats the easiest script language to do that?
I tried VBScript but couldn't find commands for open or close apps.. also for controlling files..
And what commands can do that? I could google them up for better understanding no need for rough guide
And lastly, does it too hard? If it takes more than hour to make it (learn and process) than it ain't worth it..
    Thanks alot ahead!
    Jordan.

    hmm 2 questions:
    1) taskkill.exe causing me access deny error.. I used "taskkill.exe /IM softwarename.exe"
how do I get permission or something to fix that?
    2) on the "move" command..
First, its a "copy" instead.. but I easily figured that out..
but more important is that I want to copy a folder.. with unknown list of way too long files and sub folders..
and all I see is ability to move a file..
    Is this possible?
    Thanks

  • 'Save Scanned File As' dialog box causing problems

A lot of our users just upgraded to Adobe Std 8 from Adobe Std 7. With Adobe Std 8, the 'Save Scanned File As' dialog box comes up even before the document gets scanned (this was not the case with Adobe Std 7). How do you get rid of the dialog box? This is causing us a lot of problems because our Adobe is integrated with a document management program called DM5. With Adobe Standard 8 our users cannot save directly to DM5.Because the
#Save Scanned File As# dialog box comes up first, now they have to tell Adobe to save it first somewhere other than DM, after the document
gets scanned they save the document again to DM then they go back and delete the document that they saved in the other location. Is there a registry setting or anything that I can set to get rid of the 'Save Scanned File As' box. If you hit CANCEL, the document does not get scanned so users really do not have a choice but to save the document twice. As I said earlier, this was not the case with Adobe Std 7.

    No.
