[SOLVED] Linux Standard Base for Archlinux to run ANSYS Fluent

Hi Arch Users!
I am trying to get an engineering package to work on my arch distro but having difficulty. I installed OpenSUSE in virtualbox and had the same issue, being the licensing program does not work. After some searching online it was down to lsb not being installed. After I installed lsb core in OpenSUSE I was able to get the licensing manager to work.
However, I do not find an similar package in Archlinux. Can any one guide me on how to get LSB in Archlinux.

What actually happens?
The license manager (FlexLM) does not issue an ID (HostID). No error message is seen. The full package is ANSYS Fluent. Ubuntu users had a similar issue (seen at www.cfd-online.com) and resolved this issue by installing a package lsb-core.

I installed OpenSUSE on my virtual box to see if it worked there. Initially it did not. But after installing lsb and re-installing the application the license manager issued an ID, which is what I want.
Based on this info I installed the following in Archlinux
lsb-release
init-functions [AUR]
ld-lsb [AUR]
It did not help. The comparing the file list in the Ubuantu package for it lsb-core to that I installed indicate some missing.

The standard is free in that everyone can access it, read it, and understand it. Anyone can follow it too. But if you want to be certified, you have to pay them to verify that you are.
Just because something is free as in speech doesn't mean it has to be free as in beer. Usually it just is because charging for the compiled software and giving out the source code for free makes for a really bad business model.
I think the seperation is distinct enough that there are no contradictions.

LSB - Linux Standard Base Specifications

I'm sure a lot of you may already know this, but I thought I'd put it out there anyway.
The LSB (http://www.linuxbase.org/index.php) has put together their 3.x specifications.
Looks like RedHat must be running the thing. ;-)
They've no doubt adopted RPM as their standard for package management: (http://refspecs.freestandards.org/LSB_3 … stall.html).
I'd hate to think that one day I'll again be using that bloated piece of crap. :-0

I really freakin' hate 'Linux', when it means SysV-init RPM blah blah. If your Slacks and Arches and BSD-flavored Linuxes weren't around, I don't know what I'd be using, because I don't like straight BSD much, either, and hate Windows even a little more than *Hats.

Standard report for solve inconsistencies with user SAP.

Dear Experts.
We have a problem with a user(ZEST) that in the portal when I open a service(application) display a blue Window of Internet Explorer without display information.
We have copied this user((ZEST) TO (ZEST2 )with the same roles , however this user new work fine.
My question is:
There are a standard report for solve inconsistencies?
We have deleted the user and have created it of new, however this not work.

Run the t-code SA38
Specify the name POWL_D01
In selection screen specify the user id in USER field of which your facing issue
Click on Execute
Run the T-code SA38
Specify the name POWL_WLOAD
In selection screen specify the user id in User input field of which your facing issue
Click on Execute
Now you check it issue will solve.

I observed that you have closed lots of thread without a proper solution. How can you do that? Or what propel you to close the thread? The closure should be done by the person who have created the thread. Till he/she gets a proper reply or the problem is resolved why to close. It may take some time, some days also. Delay reply should not be the reason for closure.

I could not find anything about emacs 24 in the repos, only a bazar version in AUR. Is that supposed to be the developer-version of emacs 24?
If not - where and how do I get emacs 24 for 64bit archlinux?

How to count processors on Linux 5.6 for Oracle Coherence

We are running coherence on Sun blade servers with multicore processors with Hyperthreading enable. Therefore, the /proc/cpu information shows 24 cores. For the sake of calculating the cores for use with coherence (.5 core per member) do we use the actual number of cores or the number reported (12 actual cores vs 24 cores with Hyperthreading)?

I have chosen to use red hat kernel for 64-bit. I run the following command:

I have installed the 4 files and got the error messages for the first 2 files as below:

The last 2 files have been installed successfully. But when reboot Oracle Linux Server-Base 2.6.18-238.el5, I still see :
"Initializing ASMLib driver: FAILED."
[root@rac1 /]#/etc/init.d/oracleasm configure -i
Its output "initializing Oracle ASMLib driver: OK "
My questions are:
Does the issue OS "Initializing Oracle ASMLib driver: FAILED" have effect later ? Do we need to solve it ?

Standard Report for Materials Cost Component Structure - PO Condition Type

Dear experts,
We are using below cost component structure (CCS) for materials:
- Direct materials
- import duty
- import handling
In which, all those above CCS are achieved through below condition type in Purchasing Info Record. When doing the standard cost estimate through costing run, we have successfully grouped all those condition types into their respective CCS. The problem is, while executing the standard report of "result of costing run" (S_ALR_87099930), the sytem groups all those three CCS into CCS "Direct materials" only.
I have tried different standard layouts, but still got no way to show all those CCS separately in the standard report.
Please kindly suggest what approach should i take

Check cost elements assigned to structure. For this go to transaction code OKTZ and select your CCS and double click on Assignment Cost Component-Cost element interval.

Valuation Basis for Different Payment (BWGRL) not working in 2010

Hi
We have a commission wagetype which we entered in IT 2010 in Number/Unit field.
Since we don't have premium id available, we used "Valuation Basis for Different Payment (BWGRL)" to enter the RATE.
This RATE is not working during our payroll run, however when we are using the wagetype with premium ID it is working fine.
My question is- What could be the reason that the Valuation Basis for different payment is not working ?
I checked the wagetype in V_512W_B table and it has the following configuration-
Current wage type
Valuation Basis = BLANK
Statement/WT = BLANK
%Rate = 100
1st derived wage type
Valuation Basis = BLANK
Statement/WT = BLANK
%Rate = BLANK
2nd derived wage type
Valuation Basis = BLANK
Statement/WT = BLANK
%Rate = BLANK
Would appreciate if the the fix could be provided.

I think in your case for commision wagetype you need to modify rule $930 to process the override rate from Infotype 2010 BWGRL field in case you are using the US standard schema.
The valuation basis table V_512W_D and rule $930 together will determine the valuation basis.
The default valuation basis comes from table V_512W_D.In case you want to override the valuation basis rate defined in this table,you need to maintain override rate in It2010 and accordingly have the logic defined in rule $930 for that particular wagetype .
Following is the sample rule definition for a similar scenario.

NUM= ANZHL Set
RTE= BWGRL Set
RTE?0      Comparison
      MULTI NRA Multipl.amt/no/rate

Arch Linux Minumum Base

Is there a way I could get a list of the most minimum packages required to run an Arch Linux system.
Naturally If I want to run an X app I need X. But, I want to know what consists of the most minimal arch install.
Reason being is I want to make an arch linux base for FreeBSD's compat layer. Since I compile my FreeBSD systems with the same /similar optimizations as Arch Linux does. I think it would make a better fit than the RH7 default system.
Basically, I my end result will be a FreeBSD Desktop that can do the following:
Run Linux applications and have those Linux applications managed by the Linux tools. FreeBSD uses RH7 as their default base and they rpm install the base system. Many of the Linux ports in FreeBSD ports tree grab the RH7 rpms. But. I would love to be able to from my FreeBSD box do pacman -S acroread or whatever and have it grab the Arch packages and install them to Linux compat location.
This is strictly a runtime environment. I do not want to be generating Linux code via the compat layer. Just run stuff.
Thus, I want ports to manage my FreeBSD packages. But I want pacman to manage my Linux stuff. I think ports should not manage Linux stuff on a FreeBSD box.
So, is there anybody willing to give me that list or point me to the right source to look it up.
Jeff - who happened to switch his box back to FreeBSD just because he was bored and yes I trashed a perfectly working Arch install.

I feel like an idiot now. I found my answer. I need to first install the base category. However, I need to automate this.
On the arch linux ftp site all the packages are lumped into one directory. Not separated by category.
For now I will look at the linux_base port and make a list based on that. Then install the arch specific stuff like pacman.
I think once I get the initial base laid out I can then chroot to that and run total linux commands... like this:

frontier# chroot /usr/compat/linux /bin/sh
sh-2.04# uname -srm

The frozen average base for absence is always recalculated

Hello,
I can't understand why the system in my configuration still recalculates average base for an absence which is set as frozen for the beginning day of the absense.
A person had the leave from 130809 till 030909; so the leave was divided for payroll into 2 parts - first: 130809 - 310809 for first payroll period; second: 010909 - 030909 for second. The first payroll period was calculated right; the averafe for the leave was set and frozed.
The second payroll period was calculated uncorrectly - the wage for second part of the leave was recalculated using another average base; so the frozing option doesn't work as I expected.
In the configuration the average for the leaves are calculating using data from the current month and 2 months before; so may be this kind of solution works no so good?
Earlier, I had no experiences with the frozed averages.
So, can anybody help me to analyse and solve this problem?

Standard DataSource For Excise Related Data

Hi,
Please tell me are there available any standard DataSources for Excise Related Data like Excise Invoice Header data (Table j_1iexchdr), Excise Invoice Item details (Table j_1iexcdtl), Excise Groups (Table j_1iexgrps), Excise Part II details (Table J_1IPART2) etc.
If those are available in ECC 6.0, then please provide the information or for this I need to develop generic datasource?

There is no Standard DS for Excise.
I created the Generic Dss on those tables with delta enabled in my last project. And they are running successfully.
I created 2 DSs on the same table , one with delta enabled on Created date and another one with delta enabled on Changed date ( Wherever this field is there in the base table). And used Lower limit as 1 as safty delta so that I was able to do delta loads multiple times in a day.

Standard Datasource for Excise related tables in R/3

Hi Experts,
    We are developing BI Reports for the Custom Reports in R/3 .
    In one of the ZReports in R/3 the data is coming from 12 tables.
    The data is coming from the tables EKBE,EKPO,EKKO,ADRC,MKPF,BKPF ,MAKT,
    J_1IPART1,J_1IPART2,J_1IEXCDTL,J_1IMOVEND,J_1IMTCHID.
    The tables J_1IPART1,J_1IPART2,J_1IEXCDTL,J_1IMOVEND,J_1IMTCHID are Excise Related.
    Please suggest me if any standard Datasource is available for these tables .

Problem when saving the Data basis for the Consolidation

Hi Gurus,
I am having 2 problems.
1) When i try to execute the UCWB transaction . It gives an information message
" Data basis DB needs to be generated (after upgrade) . I am following the procedure given in that "<b>Run maintenance of data basis DB in display mode. Go to the "Data Streams" tab page. Choose the "Generate" button.
If changes to Customizing settings are permitted in the current system or client, as an alternative you can maintain the data basis in change mode and save. In the case of systems supplied with Customizing transports, as an alternative you can generate the data basis in the source system and then transport it again.</b>
Even after doing that procedure when i again execute the UCWB. it give me the same message.
2) when is try to save data basis for the consolidation . it give me this error message.
"Field 0HC_ATCCODE: This compound differs from that of basic field 0HC_MEDCTG"
I have checked the referenced Info objects . Checked the compound info objects. Activated them again. They dont differ in any way. but still i get this problem.
Please help me out. If someone has come across this error and solved. Please help me.

I constantly receive the message like your #2 saying that it was a critical change in X infoobject. It's just a warning and I found several OSS notes saying that this message is not correct. Just ignore it.
In case of your Q #1. The data basis might be generated in two ways: by pressing Save icon and by clicking the Generate icon (the system refers just to this very option) and then - Save. The last way is used in Productive environment. Try it.

Show Duplicates Button on Accounts View
Duplicate check for Business Partner
I have checked ,BUT000 index is active customizing table TSADRVGRPC.
But still show duplicate button ,no pop up is triggered.
Checked
IMG => SAP NetWeaver => Application Server => Basis Services => Address Management => Duplicate Check
BUT000 PARTNER index active 90,0 SAP Business Partner
BUT052 ADDRNUMBE index active Contact Person Relationships (SAP Business Partners)
are maintained.
Still i need to implement BUPA_ADDR_CHECK ?
or any other BADI's ?

Hi Ani,
In order to have duplicate check activated in your system, you would need a TREX server and an RFC created between CRM and TREX. Once its in place follow steps:
1. Goto SPRO->SAP NETWeaver->Application Server->Basis Services->Address Management->Duplicate check
Here maintain limit for duplicates. Say if you maintain 70 here then only partners above similarity of 70% would be shown as duplicates.
2. Activate Badis Address_search and address_update. If you dont want to activate these badis then create custom implementation of them.
3. Go to t code SES_ADMIN.
Here go to->customizing->system settings and give details like name of RFC connetion between crm and TREX server and then search engine as CL_COM_SE_TREX.
come back and again in customizing->business addresses and indexes, create business object named BAS_BUPA with class CL_IC_INDEX_SES. Once you create this entry go to settings subnode and maintain object type as 1.
Now come back to Ses_admin main screen and from top menu select index->create/activate indexes. Here select bas_bupa.
4. Click on index immediately.
5. Run report SIC_BAS_RSADRINI.
See the magic of TREX...Duplicate check would start working...
Now for standardization you can do it directly from SAP except for postal code, region, country but not for free text like street address, house number(Functional consultant can do it in SPRO). If you need this functionality then you need to have interface with third party system.
