[Solved] Mailing list messages sorting in Claws-mail.

Hello!
I subscribe some mailing lists and I want to Claws-Mail store messages from mialing list in #mailing list 1 box not in my inbox, because there will be such a mess if I subscribe very active list...
Can Claws-mail do that?

We have a group account that we use for support. We have used the Delegated Administrator to limit which domains can send to the list by setting "Allowed Domains:" to the form "*.our.domain" on that list.
We are now getting thousands of the spam to "postmaster" saying that saying the message could not be delivered because "Reason: you are not allowed to use this list:". We have successfully kept a lot of spam from going to that group mailing list, but we as postmasters would like to not receive all those messages telling spammers that they can't send to the list. Is there a way to turn off those "not allowed to use this list" messages to postmaster for the group list?

1. The postmaster address is getting a copy of the bounce emails.
2. The mailing list is not rejecting the email at the SMTP level, rather it is creating a DSN bounce email.
Whether the postmaster gets a copy of bounce emails is controlled by the various warnpost, sendpost etc. imta.cnf channel configuration parameters. More information on turning these off here:

For the second issue, if a mailing list has the "maildeferprocessing" attribute set to "yes" then the email will be accepted (without checking the allowed/disallowed recipients) and processed 'offline'. If the email is rejected during this processing then a bounce email is created.
As of Messaging Server 6.3 you can set mailDeferProcessing to "After_Auth" to cause group validation to be done immediately but group expansion to be deferred.
Setting mailDeferProcess to "no" causes the group expansion and validation to be performed before the email is accepted. The downside to this is that for a large mailing list that take a long time to expand, the email client could time out and the email not accepted.

Recipient List getting sorted

Ive created the reciever list using the following stmt:
LT_RECLIST LIKE somlreci1 OCCURS 5 WITH HEADER LINE,
at runtime im able to see the reciver in this table in correct order and even mails are generating correctly in spool/sost, but the mail header shows a different mailing order(i.e. to and cc list gets sorted) when mails are recieved.
That is becz of RECIEPIECT LIST of each mail gets sorted alphabatically in spool/sost. How can i stop this.....

Message sort order

I want to change the default message sort order so messages are listed by most recent first, instead of oldest first in the mailbox.
I've been reading about modifying the message list here:

and just want to confirm that if I modify the meSortOrder variable in the main.js file, will that change the default message list for all existing mailboxes displayed in webmail?
Also, does anyone know for sure whether the variable to list the newest messages first is meSortOrder=last or meSortOrder=L ???

Yes, thank you Jay - and I am working towards that now - in part due to the information you shared.
But the question I am faced with will remain, can I change the default webmail message display from "oldest first" to "oldest last" on the system level. And at this time, I'm not sure if a newer version will change that default.
So, from what I've read, in part from this Messenger Express customization guide:

you need to change the SortOrder variable to 'last' in the main.js.
From my tests, this does not work. There seem to be preset variables options, and 'last' is not one of them. However, there are two more variables that look like they could affect this change: 'sorting' and 'orgSort'. Does anyone know how to change this setting to have the newest messages displayed first?

There were 273 photos in the event syncing from my Mac, but only the last 103 made it to the ipad. Most of the photos were taken by an iphone. I would appreciate any thoughts or insights - thanks.

That error message suggests the photo is somehow corrupt.
Do you have the Apple Camera Connection Kit? You can set up a USB thumb drive with MS-DOS FAT-32 format and copy your photos to it into a folder named DCIM. Assuming they have an 8 character plus suffix name, the iPad will recognize them and give you the option of transferring them via the Kit's USB adapter.
Once they are transferred, you can find out if there is a problem with any.

Hacked iPhones are subject to countermeasures by Apple, particularly when updating the firmware. It is likely permanently re-locked or permanently disabled.

Yeah, I couldn't think of another way to get you straight to the actual XML file. I guess what you are saying is that Google Drive does not have an appropriate server, which is why it gives https instead of http as a head.

Project folder list not sorted!

I've just downloaded and installed SunStudio 12 on Linux x86. Then I created a new C++ project from existing code pointing SunStudio at my project's source folder which contains many subfolders. Everything went fine except that the list of project folders in the "Projects" tab is not sorted alphabetically. Is there an option to make the folder list appear sorted?

My openSUSE 10.2 system uses "LANG=en_GB.UTF-8" throughout.
Folder names are simple things containing only ASCII characters like "libxyz" and "libabc", etc
BTW, I've also reproduced this issue on several openSUSE 10.2 systems used by my colleagues.

Can't list messages in IMAP inbox with subfolders?

I use a Nokia N900. I have successfully connected the phone to my email provider using IMAP4/SSL. I can view incoming email notifications, and send new messages. I can also browse the content of all folders, except for the "inbox" folder.
The way my provider (Rackspace.com) sets up the email account, all folders reside under the "inbox" folder. It appears that the N900's email application does not recognize the "inbox" folder as location which contains both subfolders and messages; when I try to open the "inbox" and list messages, the application briefly shows the busy indicator, but then nothing happens (it does not show the folder content). I can successfully view the content of any other folder (which does not have subfolders), it's just the "inbox" which is giving me problems.
Is there a solution to this problem? Thanks!

The only work around I have found so far is to use Nokia Messaging and register the rackspace address there. With that setup it works fine. Nokia was no help though, they suggested I'd turn of SSL to fix it, but that didn't do anything. In TB there are more IMAP options to set the "Personal Namespace" for the account (I use "INBOX." - note the "."), but the N900 client is missing those options.
Also still hoping for a way to sync TB/Lightning with the N900. Rackspace has great sync plugins for outher desktop clients, but not TB - they have a "suggestions" page now, please go there to vote or request a TB plugin! There is an active funambol server associated with any Rackspace account, but I was unable to get it to work with TB's funambol plugin (also only works in TB2 not 3). Here's hoping that developers catch up sometime soon ...

Well, first you have to split this topic up into its two pertinent portions:
First, you have to know how to do an insertion sort. If you don't know how to do that, here's a good quick example:

Why does Messages not list message threads by date/time even when selected?

This happened with the Messages Beta as well as the full version in Mountain Lion.
In both cases if one device was Off line whilst a conversation was going on the sync process when the device was turned on would not be instant.
It would fill in (sync) more like an only slightly speeded up chat.
Consequently if you were moving from a iPhone conversation to the Mac and turned the Mac On your Contacts new IMs could be mixed up with the Sync info arriving.
At the same time even though the whole IM sending thing is time stamped there appears to be no way that the App or the iPhone or the Mac can recognise the timing and move them into the right order.
There seem to be more reports of the Mac being Off and not updating the conversation properly than there are iPhones doing the same.
That could be done to this area being about the Messages app compared to the iPhone Area.
It could also be down to the way people hold their conversations in the first place.
i.e. we know about it but it is outside our ability to suggest something that fixes this.

Mail (8.2) message sorting in Yosemite: No longer allows quick tab sorting of messages?

In previous versions of Mail, you've always been able to do quick sorting of messages with the To/From, Subject, Date Received tabs at the top of the message lists. I don't use the Conversation view, preferring instead the Classic view. When selecting/highlighting a message in a list, the message would resort themselves if you clicked on any of the header tabs. However, now, this doesn't happen. It will resort the whole list and you lose your target message.
Note, that searching for messages or the "show related messages" function in the View pull-down menu is far less useful and convenient to scan messages. There's no more list.
Does anyone have any insights into how to get this feature back? Or why such a simple and useful feature would no longer be present.

YES. Isn't it silly. Somehow, software companies feel an over arching need to offer new versions & so often, THEY MESS THEM UP! If only we could easily go back to the previous ones.
However, in this case, there is a solution- Like you, I was trying to figure out what Old Toad was saying & where on the screen his pic came from. I was clicking around the upper left corner of the screen, on the flag icon, on the mailboxes & perhaps other things. Something I did restored the feature, so that when sorted, the message used as the sort key remains selected. I quit Mail & restarted & it still works.
So there is a solution. (I just wish I could say what it was.)

Corrupt Message List/Messages in Mail.app

I was wondering if anyone could help me try to solve a bug that has been biting me for a few months (among several, actually).
In Mail, my message list sometimes displays From: and Subject: information that does not match the indicated message. For example, it might say "From: dude, Subject: read this" and if I click on the message, the preview panel displays a message "From: dudette, subject: something different". There is nothing to be done about this from my perspective. Opening, restarting, etc. does nothing -- the message list remains corrupted until I just give up and delete them.

We had this problem recently. Discovered deleteing the account (or moving if from the Library) and then recreating the account got all the mail reading the right headers and subject lines. (moving is probably better, as it means that you can import any mailboxes you might need.)
