[SOLVED] makepkg git clone fails (firewalled), how to use https

At my new employer git(hub) traffic has been blocked so I am unable to clone a repo with "git clone git://someurl/..." but I can clone via https "git clone https://someurl/..."
However, makepkg uses the former and fails with the following error:
Cloning into bare repository '/tmp/cower-git/cower' ...
fatal: unable to connect to github.com:
github.com[0: 192.30.252.130]: errno=Connection refused
Can I configure makepkg to use https cloning?  I can edit makepkg itself, but this seems far from ideal.
For the time being, I just cd'ed into 'src' and manually cloned via https, then backed out and used 'makepkg -ei'.  So I now have cower up and running, but this is a bit tedius to do for all git packages.

Change it how?  I tried changing it to "https://github..." but then makepkg didn't treat it as a git repo and just downloaded the webpage.
EDIT: nevermind, I'm an idiot:
source=("git+https://github/...")
I know I had done this before, but I wasn't finding it when I needed it.  Thanks.

  • How to use HTTPS for my Webservices

    Hello,
    I'm devoloping one SIte of a Webservice-based Interface.
    - My Webservices have to to consumed using HTTPS
    - My Invoker(Oracle 10g PL/SQL-Procedure) has to invoke a Webservice over HTTPS
    So i have seen how to create Secure-SOAP-Webservices, but I don't find a tutorial, which shows the whole Process: Create the Webserver-Certificate (SAP WAS 6.40), tell the Webservice to use this certificates, etc...)
    It would also be graet, to get a link to tutorial..
    Greetings,
    Chris

    I don't use Oracle PL/SQL, but I can give you an idea how it can be done via eg PHP (pear soap in this case) consumer.
    I presume that you you have on the WAS already an FM which is webservice enabled.
    First you need to set up an array with all credentials
    $proxy = array('user'=>'someuser', 'pass'=>'somepass','proxy_user'=>'someuser', 'proxy_pass'=>'somepass');
    Then you set up the client with the wsdl and this proxy info
    $wsdl=new SOAP_WSDL("https://someuser:somepass@someurl",$proxy);
    $wsdl->proxy=$proxy
    $client->$wsdl->getProxy();
    $result=$client->someFMonWAS();
    It's that easy.

  • How to use https inside flex with 2-way authentication

    I've got a Flex app which provides a front-end for doing  basic CRUD db operations. The app is served up from a Tomcat/Blaze server using 2-way authentication and uses Java objects to do the server-side db work. Serving the app works fine. The problem arises when the data components in the app try to call back to the server to pull data from the db. The HttpService template needs to be https://...   but the call cannot complete because Flex does not provide a certificate to the server as the browser does.
    Using http://... works fine but then the db data is sent in the clear (which is very bad).
    What is the standard way to solve this problem? Is there a way to get Flex to use the same cert that the browser provided?
    Thanks for any assistance!

    Don't panic, I don't. Just did not have time before now.
    EDIT: Done. I am still throwing in the towel, though. I was trying to make a gtkmm-git PKGBUILD, because I need the latest gtkmm for development. However for gtkmm-git I needed gtk-git, for which I needed glib-git and pango-git. I successfully (at least it appears so) managed to install glib-git and pango-git, but now I get a linker error with gtk-git and will not spend another day looking for its source. I will just wait until gtkmm-3.1 is released.
    EDIT 2: Alright, it appears there must have been something wrong with my "successfull" installs as well, as I just started a gtk app (Balsa) and it did not have any font, just rectangles for letters. Replacing glib-git and pango-git with their stable counterparts turned everything right again.

  • [SOLVED] makepkg of php fails, no useful error message

    I'm trying to use ABS to build PHP.  I run makepkg and the last lines are:
    checking whether build with IMAP works... no
    configure: error: build test failed. Please check the config.log for details.
    ==> ERROR: A failure occurred in build().
    Aborting...
    The error refers me to config.log, but I don't see useful information there.  Here's the end of that file:
    [dave@apollo php]: tail src/build-php/config.log
    #define COMPILE_DL_IMAP 1
    #define HAVE_IMAP 1
    #define HAVE_IMAP2000 1
    #define HAVE_IMAP2004 1
    #define HAVE_NEW_MIME2TEXT 1
    #define HAVE_LIBPAM 1
    #define HAVE_LIBCRYPT 1
    #define HAVE_IMAP_SSL 1
    configure: exit 1
    This is my first attempt to use ABS so apologies if the error should be obvious.
    My goal is to build PHP 5.2.17 because I need it for a client.  But I'm starting by simply building extra/php without any modifications to the PKGBUILD, and I'm getting the error described above.  Any help is very appreciated!  Thanks.

    We recently noticed that issue ourselves; it's a bug in pkg-config. Downgrade to 0.27.1-1.

    It is not the PKGBUILD's fault, apparently, as the same error occurs when I autogen-configure-make manually. So is there something wrong with my system, the python setup maybe? (I tried manually replacing "python" by "python2.7" in the Makefile – no success.) Or is it an upstream bug, maybe related to this bug? Is there anything I can do?
    Sorry if the answer is obvious, but I really do not feel like I understand this python stuff properly. Also, sorry for duplicating my AUR comments – it was only today that I figured I might get more response in the forum.

  • [SOLVED]MAKEPKG can't resolve dependencies unless I use --asroot first

    Hi all,
    I've been trying to install an AUR package and when I run 'makepkg -s' it said it couldn't resolve dependencies. I checked the dependencies, installed them via pacman, and still got the same message. I've been searching around everywhere and couldn't figure it out.
    Then, disregarding the dire warning, I ran 'makepkg --asroot.' I got an error message saying it didn't have a required dependency that wasn't listed on the AUR site. I installed it with pacman, then ran 'makepkg -s' and it worked fine.
    What gives? Why wasn't the dependency listed on the AUR page? It was the ttf-ms-fonts and has been updated on Jan 13, 2011 so it is up to date. Any ideas?
    Thanks!
    *quick update*
    I tried installing flashplugin-prerelease and it wouldn't install the dependencies that were listed on the AUR page. No hidden dependencies this time though.

    I forgot about the permissions when I changed the mirrorlist, thanks!
    The makepkg is still giving me an error, this time its:
    [myco-runner@Arch yaourt]$ makepkg -s
    ==> Making package: yaourt 0.9.5.1-1 (Tue Feb 15 20:50:09 EST 2011)
    ==> Checking Runtime Dependencies...
    ==> Installing missing dependencies...
    error: 'package-query>=0.4': could not find or read package
    ==> ERROR: 'pacman' failed to install missing dependencies.
    At least this time it tells me what package is missing, but it won't install it because it's an AUR package. I suspect it will work for other non-AUR packages though.
    Just confirmed it, it works! Thanks!

  • How to use HTTPS from JDeveloper 9i

    I am trying to run a custom JSP thru Jdeveloper 9i.

    Checked in Tools>Preferences but could not find a link for this.
    Any pointers on how this can be achieved.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    I don't think tha there is an option for this since HTTPS is not configured by default with the embedded OC4J. As a work around I suggest you create a HTML file that you run from JDeveloper and that redirects to the https port to launch your application with HTTPS. Make sure you read the OC4J security guide to learn about the required setup for OC4J and SSL

  • How to use HTTPS with JSSE URLConnection in servlet

    Hi, I have a servlet that calls another servlet using the URLConnection class. This seems to work very well if I am using http. However when trying to call it using https using JSSE I get the following error:
    "javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: untrusted server cert chain."
    The following is the code that I am using in the servlet:
              java.security.Security.addProvider(new com.sun.net.ssl.internal.ssl.Provider());
              System.getProperties().put("java.protocol.handler.pkgs", "com.sun.net.ssl.internal.www.protocol");
              this.servlet = new URL(servletURL);
              URLConnection conServlet = servlet.openConnection();
    Both of these servlets are under IIS on my machine. I am able to execute each of the servlets from the browser using https directly. Does this sounds like an SSL certifcate problem or is that something in the Java code? Any ideas greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
    Perhaps you can create your own trust manager. I've found this example in another newsgroup: (please note that this example trusts everyone, but you can modify the trust manager as you wish)
    if (putUrl.startsWith("https"))
      //set up to handle SSL if necessary
      System.setProperty("java.protocol.handler.pkgs", "com.sun.net.ssl.internal.www.protocol");
      System.setProperty("javax.net.debug", "ssl,handshake,data,trustmanager");
      Security.addProvider(new com.sun.net.ssl.internal.ssl.Provider());
      //use our own trust manager so we can always trust
      //the URL entered in the configuration.
      X509TrustManager tm = new MyX509TrustManager();
      KeyManager []km = null;
      TrustManager []tma = {tm};
      SSLContext sc = SSLContext.getInstance("ssl");
      sc.init(km,tma,new java.security.SecureRandom());
      SSLSocketFactory sf1 = sc.getSocketFactory();
      HttpsURLConnection.setDefaultSSLSocketFactory (sf1);
