[SOLVED] Missing gtk2-* files on mirror when installing chromium

Hi
I tried installing chromium using pacman -S chromium.
All the dependecies download fine, but for gtk-update-icon-cache-2.24.9-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz and gtk2-2.24.9-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
Both report that the file does not exists (404 error from the server).
I thought that maybe it could be a package specific problem, so I attempted an installation of gnome-shell, but got the same error for those two files.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Edit:  I also have tried switching mirrors in /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist

  • Error opening file for writing when installing

I cannot install Flash on my Vista X64. I have tried running
the downloadable install and the online install. Any time I try to
run the install I get "error opening file for writing" when trying
    to write C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash\Flash9d.ocx.
I have uninstalled Fash first (it never worked anyway) and I
have rebooted. I even tried rebooting in Safe Mode but no matter
what I try, I cannot remove the existing Flash9d.ocx and installing
will not overwrite the existing file.
Even after uninstalling Flash and rebooting to safe mode,
Windows reports that flash9d.ocx is in use. So why is the file in
    use after uninstalling?
    Any help is appreciated.
    Dale

Well, I finally figured out the problem with mine today. Of
course, I'd still like to know what nefarious purpose might be
involved with the Flash activeX file being loaded in memory even
after uninstall and reboot such that it cannot be removed from my
    PC even in Safe Mode.
At least I got Flash working. I discovered that Flash was
    disabled in IE.
In IE, go to Tools->Options->Programs and then Manage
Add-Ons. In my case, the ShockWave Flash Object was set to
disabled. I changed it to Enabled and I was able to install and use
Flash properly. Now I am just not sure I want to.
With the questionable practices of using the ActiveX control
even after uninstall, and making the file un-removable, along with
the extremely (in my opinion) dishonest practice of installing
Google Toolbar with Flash, I am hoping that Microsoft's Silverlight
puts Flash out of the market - and I'm no huge fan of Microsoft
either. With the new practices from Adobe, they are, in my opinion,
no better than any other spyware and malware purveyor on the market
    - right up there with Napster and the dozens of follow-on products
that tricked users into installing unwanted software.

  • "Extraction Failed: Cannot Open Output File" error message when installing new drivers

Hello, I'm trying to install new drivers for my HP Photosmart C4385 Printer.  I downloaded the full feature drivers for Windows XP 32-bit, and when I start to install (extract), I get the error message:
    Extraction Failed
    Cannot Open Output File
And the process closes.  It happens at about 85% extraction every time.
Any idea why?  I called HP but since it is out of warranty they wanted money, which I think as absolutely ridiculous - won't even give me basic support??  Poor, poor customer service.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    Hi,
If you haven't still got the  Full Feature software installer, download it from the link below and save it to your Desktop.  If you already have it, place it on your Desktop.
    ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software10/COL20274/mp-53147-4/100_228_PS_AIO_02_Full_USW_enu_NB.exe
Make sure the Printer is disconnected from your PC.
Download and install 7-ZIP.  Once installed, right click on the software installer for your printer, select 7-Zip and choose extract files, then click Ok.
Open the newly extracted folder and double click the setup application to start the installation ( the setup application will probably have the same icon as the original software installer you downloaded ).  Connect the printer to your PC when the software asks.
    Hope this helps.
    Best wishes,

  • Data1.cab file not extracted when installing Acrobat X on windows under VMWare Fusion 4.0

When extracting the files to the installation folder, the Data1.cab file is created but it is o kb value. Then when running the setup file, there is an error generated because the setup cannot see a valid data1.cab file

    Manish_1988,
Thanks for the suggestion but after trying all of the suggestions, I still
    did not have any success.
I ended up extracting the install files while I was in Oracle Virtual Box
then used the install files when I was in VMWare Fusion. A bit convoluted
    but it worked.
    Again, thanks anyway.

  • O365 firstrun suppression policy settings do not suppress file formats chooser when installed on EU locale computers

I am not sure where to report this but I believe I have found a bug in the latest Office 365 product. I set up a machine running windows 7, and implemented Office 2010 and Office 2013 group policies, I scoped the policies to the correct user and machine.
the particular policy I am interested in is the "default file format" found in the GPO under the save option for word, excel and powerpoint. under office 2010 this policy applies correctly and does not display the "choose a file format"
dialog box when those programs start, this is the behaviour I am looking for. I then installed Office 2013 and implemented the exact same group policy, the default file format dialog box does not appear. however, when I install Office 365 (2013 edition) the
dialog box does display. it appears that some other policies do apply correctly to the office 365 product but the default files format policy does not, office 365 is ignoring this policy setting.... hence why I believe this is a bug. according to the Microsoft
technical literature the Office 365 product and Office 2013 share the same group policy settings, I can not find any admx files specifically for office 365, only for office 2013 so 365 should recognise and use this policy setting.
    Steve

ok, then to (possibly) help you, this is what I did in my initial testing to help prevent the running of some of those apps... up to you if you chose to implement this but it did seem to work for me in my test environment
Create a GPO which uses User GPP and Computer start up scripts. The GPP will remove the shortcuts and the start up scripts will install an ACT  Database with AppHelp messages. These AppHelp messages
will disallow the application to run passing it off as a "compatibility" issue, and that's assuming the user can get to the exe file after the shortcut has gone.
Create a GPP Folder Options – File Type which re-associates the extensions for the blocked app with another application or removes the extension.

    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc749169(v=ws.10).aspx
any or all of those steps could form a solution as far as i can tell. I know this appears a pretty botch job but its the best I can think of, you could use app locker policies but personally I have never been a fan of implementing such restrictions (perhaps
it comes from the days where software restriction and hash rules and such seemed a pain in the wassit).
I don't mean to appear greedy when asking for help, but you have an even bigger rollout than Don has at the moment with O365, we both have a joint scenario which I wonder if you had come across and know the answer to, even though I've marked this as answered
it is the best we have at the moment but not 100% conclusive, would you have anything to add to it? the thread is located at

  • Windows File Protection error when installing 9i client

While installing the 9i client I am getting a Windows file protection error message on all 5 of the test machines.
If I cancel out of the message the install finishes correctly and everything seems to function properly.
However, it is prety counterintuitive to have to cancel out of the message when we are wanting to do these installs in silent mode.
Anyone else have this problem, or any ideas on fixing?

    nm, fixed it myself.
The Oracle install was replacing regsvr32.exe with an old version. When WFP detects a file protection problem, it first looks at the %systemroot%\system32\dllcache dir for a known good copy of the file to restore. If it doesn't find one in there, then it pops the dialog up and asks for a CD. If it does find one then it silently restores it in the background.
So, now at the beginning of my script I have a script checking the dllcache dir for regsvr32.exe, if it is there it moves on to the install, if it is not then it copies the one from their current system32 dir into the system32\dllcache dir. That way when Oracle replaces it WFP will silently restore their previous version.

  • Where can the install.app file be found when installing Adobe Creative Suite CS5, download version ?

I have the same problem that the user who wrote the post "Trouble installing content files on Mac", but his post went unanswered. Here is the link: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4221280. I am trying to install the adobe creative suite CS5 downloaded from the internet, and what I have is a dmg file. When I open it, there is only a read me and a folder named "English". In the read me I go to the install instructions, and they tell me to double-click in Install.app, a file which doesn't exist. What am I doing wrong?

I downloaded it from Adobe Store. When I open the dmg file I see the read me.pdf and the English folder, nothing more. Perhaps the problem is that I have already installed the program in one computer, this is happening to me trying to install it in another one. Could that be it, that I need another license in order to make it work?

  • Opening a legacy file in CC2014, the fonts in the file (which are loaded and accessible with Suitcase Fusion 6), won't display. I get the [Jensen text] font name indicating a missing font file. YET, when I make a new file, the fonts are available. Any ide

Okay, that was a long title. Sorry about that.
Longer version now. The font Janson Text is an old Type 1 Postscript font. If I make a new document in InDesign CC2014, this font is completely available to me. HOWEVER, if I open a legacy file that uses this same font, it shows up with the usual pink highlighting.
I know the font is available to InDesign, because I made a new test document and set type with it.
If I try using the Type > Find Font.. option to replace the 'missing' typefaces, InDesign won't let me, not recognizing the font that I just used in the new test document.
I just tried exporting the defective file as an IDML file, then opening the IDML file. The font is now working properly.
This is a real problem, as the file I'm trying to open is a book that we need to reprint. I now have to go through it page by page to see if any linebreaks have changed.
    WHAT CAUSES THIS, please?

There is one way its getting fixed. Once I update my Adobe Illustrator CC to Adobe Illustrator CC 2014 it is further allowing me to go into the system folder and allocate the font to the file so that it can replace it. My only concern now is that our MAC partners who will receive these files back from us have Adobe CS6. We will down save it to CS6 but I hope they won't experience any font issues because of us using CC 2014? Any light you can shed on this?

    Hi Aditya,
I'm assuming the 'unable to open *.sql' errors are because oracle is looking for them in a different directory. Those files are present in the same directory as oe_main.sql whose location I specify at the start. Should'nt this be enough? No. The main-script calls the subscripts relative to the directory you started your sqlplus from. You should change to */demo/schema/oe*, start +@oe_main.sql+ there and the installation should finish without further issues.

  • Using an answer file (unattend.xml) when installing Windows, to change the FolderLocations setting

For training purposes I have been given the task of installing Windows 8 with the Users Folder on a different drive in a virtual machine using Hyper-V. I have created an autounattend.xml file on Windows System Image Manager and set the FoldersLocations

  • Disk Utility erase tab for hard disk is missing after accidental OS deletion when installing Win 8.1 (BootCamp)

    Hi there everyone,
This is my first post and I hope I can get this issue resolved with your help .
So the issue that I am having is that my Disk Utility is not showing giving me the option to reformat my entire hard drive.
The reason I want to this is because my Boot Camp Assistant won't partition my drive. This error comes up:
So after looking through the internet and forums i couldn't resolve this Boot Camp issue. So I decided to try and just wipe out my whole disk but as you can see I am unable to do that.
Prior to this issue, I had tried to download Windows 8.1 using a bootable USB stick and have accidentally deleted my Macintosh HD partition from the Windows install menu by opening up a terminal (fn+option+F10 was the key used to open up this terminal if I remember correctly).  I was pretty upset about that, thankfully I have a backup around. Not knowing what to do I proceeded to installing Windows 8.1 anyway. Half way through the installation there was an error which I did not record. I simply exited the installer and proceeded to the Recovery System start up menu and it installed a version of OS X Lion from the internet. Then I installed Yosemite thinking everything is OK.
I decided to try to install Windows 7 now and the issue mentioned at the beginning ensued. Previously there was a disk0s1 and disk0s2 that can be seen from the Disk Utility but I could delete one of them. The other one I could only erase but could not delete the partition itself. From terminal i determined these two partitions were from the previous Windows installation attempt. The size was relatively small for both.
I ran a disk repair for the Macintosh HD volume and this error pops up:
I am using MacBook Pro (15-inch, early 2011) with:
